We had made a reservation for a group of 10 people for lunch on Sunday. We chose to let everyone choose from the menu. A small adjustment was requested for a few orders and was honored 100 percent! A very successful lunch (and get-together).

We started with a delicious Cava, accompanied by two delightful amuse-bouches. The dishes were delicious and surprisingly flavorful. Furthermore, they were true works of art on the plate. The accompanying wines matched the dishes perfectly. For us, the choice of the 5-course menu was more than sufficient; one more course would have been too much (but that is, of course, a matter of personal preference). The service was friendly and not intrusive. The value for money was very well balanced. All in all, a wonderful experience, highly recommended, and worth a return visit.

We had an excellent experience with the high tea here. It started off well with the reservation: they proactively called ahead to coordinate dietary requirements and details, which we really appreciated. The high tea itself is highly recommended. After choosing from two delicious soups, a savory and a sweet course followed; everything was fresh and meticulously prepared. In addition to the unlimited tea, there is also the option to order other drinks. Add to that the attentive, friendly staff, and you have a perfect afternoon. Definitely a place to return to!

We arrived on a Saturday lunchtime... We immediately realized it was best to make a reservation. But the waiter did everything he could to find us a table. We ordered bruschettas: highly recommended because they were delicious! A wonderful experience at Lyf's.

The food was delicious, but we were left with a slightly uneasy feeling about the whole experience. Initially, the staff seemed friendly. We walked in without a reservation, and there was still something available. While we were passing our first drink, the waiter looked outside. Later, when we told him what we wanted to eat, the waiter looked outside with an uninterested look. Later, people who seemed to be regular (well-off?) guests came in. They were greeted very friendly and were asked to take their coats. We noticed this repeatedly: people without a reservation were greeted fairly warmly, while people who seemed to be regulars were greeted very friendly. Even during brief interactions with the staff, it quickly became apparent that they were friendly to women and curt with men, not just with us, but also with other couples and groups. The overall tone with the regulars was much friendlier. Yes, the food is really delicious and of good quality, but we found the experience unpleasant.

Formidable food very hospitable

With many positive online reviews, a beautiful building, and even a Michelin star on the door, we walked into Restaurant Lyf's today with a good feeling. Unfortunately, that feeling quickly proved misplaced. From the moment we walked in, we had the distinct feeling of being unwelcome. While you normally receive a warm and friendly welcome in the hospitality industry, here they seemed completely unprepared for our visit. Busyness or staff shortages could be a reason, but that wasn't the case: there were plenty of free tables and plenty of staff present—staff who seemingly had more time to chat in the kitchen than to serve guests. We weren't there for an elaborate lunch or dinner, but simply for a cup of coffee and something sweet. Apparently, that wasn't desirable in this "luxury" restaurant. Ordering was difficult, and even a slice of cake felt like an unusual, almost unwanted request. Unfortunately, the staff's attitude didn't make matters any better. The waiter clearly seemed uninterested. Every order felt like we were asking for too much. When we wanted to end the afternoon with a drink—now in a nearly empty restaurant—the waiters preferred to walk past us to clear tables behind us rather than take another order. The message was clear: we were no longer wanted. At least they managed to chase us away. We asked for the bill and left for another place to end our afternoon on a pleasant note. A very disappointing experience at Lyf's.

We ate at Lyfs for the 5th time, and I am running on superlatives. Every time was a feast! Every bite is a feast! We had the 4-course surprise menu for 3 people (1 vegetarian). I have never experienced every course being paired so perfectly with beautiful wines. And the explanations are also very pleasant. You know what you are eating and drinking and understand why they go so well together. The service was super friendly. A 10, truly well deserved!
