Leuk interieur zowel boven als beneden. Eten is verrassend qua smaken en prima. Gezellig zaakje. Leuk om even een hapje te doen. Informele setting. Zeer vriendelijke service.

Ideal para viajeros, cálida bienvenida, buen ambiente, pequeño restaurante de gestión familiar con wifi. Sin lujos, el foco está en la comida que era excelente. Antipasto de ensaladas frescas llenas de sorpresas, buen vino y café. Todo lo que el viajero necesita.

Afgelopen zaterdagmiddag : lokatie Pannekoekstraat. We namen plaats op een gezellig terras. Het zonnetje scheen en de bediening hielp ons vriendelijk. We bestelden Pinot Grigio en op advies van onze vriend namen we vooraf de combi borrelplank en als hoofdgerecht de Lasagne en Spaghetti Parmezaan. Alles smaakte ons zeer goed en we hebben een zeer aangename middag gehad hier. Vriendelijke dame en gozer in de bediening. Echt helemaal top!

We hebben hier gezellig gezeten en ook best aardig gegeten, maar alles ging heel traag. Op de bestelde antipasti moesten we een uur wachten, want er was ‘een probleem met de bonnen, waardoor de bestellingen niet doorkwamen in de keuken’. Kan gebeuren natuurlijk, maar denkt er in dat uur dan niemand in de keuken: goh, wat is het stil? Het tafeltje naast ons kreeg, hoewel de gasten later gekomen waren, wel de bestelde broodjes en die gasten waren al weg voordat onze bestelling kwam. We begrijpen best dat er soms ergens een probleem is met bonnen of personeel, maar tijdige toelichting en misschien een broodje om ons bezig te houden zouden wel helpen voor het begrip. De bestelling werd wat slordig opgediend en we moesten zelf om bestek gaan vragen om de groenten van de plank op de bordjes te scheppen. De bordjes waren klein en hadden stukjes van de rand. De houten tafel heeft een rustieke open structuur, die leuk is om te zien maar niet per se hygiënisch. Het hoofdgerecht sloegen we maar over. Het dessert liet weer op zich wachten. De gelijktijdig bestelde koffie kwam pas toen iedereen het dessert al op had. De kwaliteit van voorgerecht, dessert en koffie is voldoende, maar voor de prijs viel het ons al met al toch een beetje tegen. Misschien troffen we een foute dag. Maar ook als dat zo is, kan een eerlijke toelichting en een vriendelijk gebaar een hoop helpen om later nog eens voor dit restaurant te kiezen.

What a cozy atmosphere! The waitresses explain the menu with great dedication. The spaghetti Parmigiano was delicious and so was the ravioli. Nice wine and limoncello spritz. To finish, a delicious pear tart. Delicious food, we will definitely come back!

Enjoyed a delicious lunch again today, not the first time and certainly not the last. Cozy and friendly staff, it's like being at home, cozy with an open kitchen, highly recommended!

After a tip from a colleague, we went to eat at Mangiare. Great service that explains the menu again and again with patience and passion. The dishes are all equally tasty, very tasty and varied. The Antipaste was delicious. This also applies to the vegetarian lasagna based on eggplant. The spaghetti parmigiano was also delicious. Highly recommended is this restaurant where you can experience the love for the profession in taste and experience. We will definitely come back again.

Wine without a glass, without showing the name of the wine. Pre-prepared dough, it wasn't very good. No water in the house. Very good bread.

As customary in the Netherlands, service sucks. But from a small and atmospheric place like Mangiare I would expect more than an overcrowded pub. The waiter was inattentive and not welcoming, no smiling or attempt to engage with customers. We ordered a bottle of wine and were brought regular glasses for water - I mean, are you sure you are an Italian place? There were chilled wine bottles, but we were brought room temperature. Wine card descriptions are super vague, no details on grape sort, region, year. Maybe you change your wines frequently, but then why is the waiter not telling us which wines are on offer. It is only food that saved the dinner. Thank God we did not have to chase it or go pick it up ourselves at the kitchen. But service sucked. I don't think I will choose Mangiare next time.

Italian-inspired restaurant (not an Italian restaurant) with a really slow service.

I had eaten here before and I was very satisfied. Now on a busy Friday evening with many people in a small space, you had to talk louder. We ate a starter and main course. The pasta parmigniani was too “al dente”. The eggplant was tasty, but could have used a little more melted cheese. The portions were on the small side. The wine was fine and the service very good.

Today we drove half an hour to Mangiare to get cold snacks. Google said they were open. We arrived and were told by an arrogant lady that they were closed while all the cold snacks were still in the display case.

Good restaurant for Italian food in the center of Rotterdam. Food was nice, staff were friendly and attentive however there’s a room for improvement a bit quicker service could make it much better experience. I would recommend it if you are looking for good Italian food place in the city center.

Locale vivace ma piccolo. Trovato con difficoltà dopo vusualizzaziobe buone recensioni. Menù del giorno con alcuni piatti non disponibili e con difficoltà linguistiche per capire le pietanze....chiesto un piatto di pesce ed arrivata la bresaola! Cena molto semplice ma pagata cara e con lunga attesa. Un piatto di bresaola con rucola e scaglie Parmigiano 14.50€ e due piatti di filetto di pesce con un piccolo contorno (non chiaro che pesce fosse!) 24.50€ e 2 bottiglie di birra .....70€. Non penso che ci tornerò.

Italiaans diner met collega’s. Locatie is prima, wij waren in de Pannekoekstraat locatie. Hadden een tafel bij het raam. Het is wat krapjes maar dat mag de pret niet drukken. Bediening was fantastisch Voorgerecht was garnalen carpaccio, leek een beetje op een vorm van zure zult met garnalen.. niet slecht, niet bijzonder. Hoofdgerecht was geflambeerde parmezaan spaghetti, lekker. Tiramisu heerlijk. Limoncello (huisgemaakte) te waterig. Espresso heerlijk. Gezellige locatie eten gemiddeld.

A little hidden between Vogelenzangweg en Nieuwemarkt, a gem! Everything is made with local or organic ingredients and the menu is known shortly before because we depend on the availability of ingredients. Worth the visit.

Food below average, good intentions but not Italian food at its finest. Something was missing in each dish. Octopus not well cooked, but nice vinaigrette sauce; spaghetti with parmigiana had a funny taste and mackerel ravioli were heavy, slightly overcooked. Wine not fine at all, tried both white and red, not fresh and bland. Good marketing, okay service and atmosphere.

Cozy restaurant in the center of Rotterdam. Unfortunately I expected more. Octopus as a starter was a bit tough and the taste was not that exciting. The burrata was tasty but not surprising. The spaghetti parmigiano was disappointing because the spaghetti itself was still a bit too hard. Very unfortunate, as the dish could have been distinctive. I liked the lasagna porcini truffle, but I wouldn't come back for it. The best were the desserts: the key lime pie and tiramisu were great!

We have been visiting Mangiare for several years (mainly the other location close to Blaak), but after tonight’s experience we are honestly doubting almost everything about this place! First, the “service” was extremely slow as mentioned in many other reviews, and good luck calling for someone to order.. There was no worthy service at all, it all was chaotic, unprofessional and even rude at times. One of our guests, an Italian, ordered the special of the house (spaghetti) that was clearly too al dente (we all tried). We were promised a new plate, but that just didn’t arrive. Long after the rest of us finished our meals, and after having asked again and again, the replacement spaghetti was served (with only a half and non genuine “sorry for waiting”…and..it was exactly the same, way too al dente. When we told them this, the “chef” came to our table, and said quote “I’m not a chef, I’m only instructed to make it like this”. Also, the “chef” said they only cook with fresh pasta which they get delivered every day. But, fresh pasta can not be al dente at all, precisely because it is fresh! On a more general level, the food’s quality is disappointing (what happened??) and it is served in small portions (bad price-quality ratio). So, it’s a real pity and I hope the management will take this seriously??!

This is the worst service I ever had. In 1h30 I had to ask 3 times to see the menu, re ask them 2 times to get water. It took then 30min to bring me the starter vegetarian platter but they forgot my plate so again a few minutes of extra waiting to get a plate My pasta never arrived after 1h30 so I had to leave Honestly I'm impressed, how can you be so bad?!

Enjoy a nice dinner with family, friends or a whole group, Mangiare is certainly suitable for all these occasions. The service is quick, helpful and very friendly. There is an extensive menu that changes often, but is always of top quality. The ravioli and shot of limoncello are definitely recommended here. Drink boards are also amazing.

Beautiful place, with fine dishes, but seriously: the service knows nothing about wine, wine too warm, no wine glasses. Then you do fall through a lower limit, you know. Shame. This concept deserves more love.

The menu is a composition of very obvious simple Italian dishes. The preparation is really mediocre. Even the squid was tough (it's quite a feat to keep it tough). What was particularly striking was the noise of the room and the enormous noise the person in the dishwashing kitchen made (including clearing tables and putting them away in the restaurant). This man really had no idea or idea that he was working in a restaurant. What a guest... There are many good Italian restaurants in Rotterdam. This one certainly isn't one of them.

Very good experience in this restaurant with unrivaled culinary talents. It’s a treat for the taste buds for both the main course (ravioli) and the dessert (tiramisu). Fui no horário do almoço, comi um delicioso sanduíche de atum. Um bom serviço e uma boa localização.

Nul sterren lukt niet maar dat zou het wel moeten zijn. Meer dan een uur gewacht toen maar weggegaan. Onvriendelijk ongeïnteresseerd personeel, ongemakkelijke terrasstoeltjes binnen. De afzuiginstallatie werkte niet goed daarom rook het onaangenaam in de zaak.(vis en schimmelkaas) Raar concept wbt het menu. De ober kwam een verhaaltje opdreunen terwijl hij een zwaar bord ophield. Er zijn betere opties in Rotterdam.Zoals restaurant Gusto.

Met een groep wezen eten.. Voordeligste groepsmenu hadden wij: eten was oke en hier en daar wel goed smakelijk.. Sfeer: fijn en service: prima. Het was best druk maar we zijn goed geholpen👍

Wat een leuk en gezellige restaurant. Eten was overheeeerlijk!! We waren met een grote groep waardoor we allemaal 1 menu moesten kiezen en zij maakten dan wat lekkers voor ons. We begonnen met een broodplankje met de lekkerste olijfolie, alleen daarvoor zou ik al zeggen ga erheen!!!. Daarna werd er een paddestoelen pasta gerecht en een pompoen risotto geserveerd. Het desert kwam op een plankje met een tiramisu, lemon keypie en een chocoladetaartje. Sfeer was erg gezellig en de medewerkers ook! Zeker een aanrader als je echt kan genieten van Italiaanse eten.

Writing this super positive review when the food hasn't even arrived yet.... Just because the service is so amazing and the food smells and looks like it's going to be a great experience.

Celebrated a bachelorette here with a group of 11 ladies. We had a shared dining 3 course meal which consisted of antipasti mix, vegetarian ravioli and lasagne and 3 different desserts. The food was absolutely lovely and the portion sizes were perfect for the group. All of us left very full and satisfied :) The staff was incredibly nice and helpful and made the evening go smoothly! Note of feedback: the menu for groups on the website is incorrect, which led to confusion regarding our menu options. The menu we wanted was only available for lunch apparently. The woman I spoke to before the dinner was pretty rude about it on the phone.. as if it was my fault for not knowing that that wasn’t an option for dinner (unclear on the site). The guys I spoke to at dinner were really lovely about it and explained the miscommunication in a much better way.

Voor het eerst met gezin gegeten bij Mangiaire. Vriendelijke ontvangst, wel reserveren. Menu staat op krijtbord. Beperkt aantal gerechten, wel prettig geprijsd. De Ravioli met kaas was lekker en voldoende groot voor een gemiddelde eter. Wijn inderdaad een beetje hummelig in Ikea glazen. Ben wel negatief over de prijs/kwaliteit van de anti pasti. Met drie gevulde eieren, paar plakjes kaas en worst en ham en voor het overige rauwkost etc is voor drie personen 38€ overbetaald. Wat wij kregen stemt niet overeen met de mooie foto,s bij de beoordelingen. Zonder deze misser zou de beoordeling hoger zijn geweest.

We were looking for a place with pasta and decided to visit Mangiare! The experience was overall positive with a remark: the service was extremely slow (as you can figure it from the pictures). We had two steaks, parmesan wheel pasta and the shared mix platter for two... The steak was amazing, the pasta meh and the mix platter average! The portions were not big, thus the extra pasta! I am highly recommending this place but do ask about waiting time, we ordered around 6:30, the platter arrived at 7:09 and the actual food 8:02...

De bediening was enthousiast; helaas waren wij minder enthousiast over het eten. Mijn salade was wat verlept, er zat zand in en een hele rauwe knoflook. De lasagna was bovenop te hard gebakken, dus ook matig. Jammer, kan veel beter.

Spontan besucht und positiv überrascht worden. Top Essen mit guten Zutaten, perfekt zubereitet. Ambiente etwas wuselig, halt wie in einer Trattoria. Junges und freundliches Personal.

Wir hatten Lust auf Pasta, und Riesen Hunger. Durch Zufall sind wir auf das sehr unscheinbare Restaurant gestoßen! Schon der erste Kontakt mit dem jungen Personal war sehr angenehm. Das Essen wird frisch zubereitet und man merkt, dass die Jungs Spaß und Lust auf ihre Arbeit haben. Wir hatten eine Antipastiplatte, verschiedene Nudeln und einen Nachtisch mit Espresso. Alles super lecker und zu empfehlen.

We went to this place a couple of months ago and when we arrived, we were told that there were seating options upstairs. We went upstairs and waited for 10-15 minutes for a waiter, but no one came. We found the menu online and decided to approach a waiter directly to place our order since we were very hungry. I also ordered wine, but they brought me a completely different one. I informed them of the mistake and it took them 10 minutes to inform me that they didn't have the wine I originally ordered. They suggested another red wine, but for some reason, they poured it into a water glass instead of a wine glass. Then, they brought the food. I ordered lasagne, but it was served without any meat. It would have been nice to have some description or at least if they had mentioned it. I didn't even finish it. When I went to pay, they charged me the wrong price, which was 60 more than it should have been. I noticed the mistake when I had already used my phone to pay. It completely ruined my impression of this place. However, they did return the extra money in cash and didn't include the wine in the final bill. On the positive side, they have a really nice ambiance.

Un Spritz en terrasse ou dans une ambiance de taverne italienne dans l’un des meilleurs spots de Rotterdam, accompagné d’antipasti tous plus variés et délicieux les uns que les autres… gardez de la place pour la pasta al parmigiano dans la meule, et les desserts au prix démocratique de 5-6€! L’impression de manger comme en Italie, c’est la promesse (tenue) de ce restau, et on comprend très vite en passant devant qu’il faut impérativement réserver si l’on souhaite y avoir une place ! Mais si c’est complet, qu’à cela ne tienne: ils ont tout de même trois adresses, à aller tester de toute urgence.

Wat een parel. Een vriendin wou bijna voorbij deze prachtige zaak wandelen. Na een ietswat twijfelachtige ingang werden we meteen verrast met antipasti, pasta en tiramisu. De kleine kaart zorgt voor een uitermate kwaliteit aan smaken en visie. Het personeel draagt dit tenvolle uit naar hun klanten. Voor mijn tripje naar Rotterdam was dit de sublieme afsluiter van een fantastische dag. Dat deze zaak niet alleen lekker eten serveert, maar een heel gebeuren aan tafel initieert, is uniek!
