Everyone raves about this french fry place 😅 I've had better ones, I wasn't that blown away, but it's a good alternative for a snack while traveling and to save time.

Very tasty. They have a special sauce here: mayo, ketchup, and onions. The best.

The fries were delicious. The medium portion was plenty. The sauce was tasty. The price was reasonable. My order was initially sent out incorrectly, but it was quickly corrected. Excellent service. Be prepared for a wait due to freshly prepared fries or long lines. It wasn't a big deal. Everything was very quick.

This famous frites shop has a branch near Dam Square, so you can buy your frites and walk to Dam Square to eat them. Today I ordered frites with truffle mayo and Parmesan. The frites here are plumper than other places I've had, which might make them less crispy. The Parmesan cheese is grated, not finely shredded. The truffle mayo has a nice truffle aroma, but the flavor is more tangy than other places, probably because the mayo base itself is already quite strong. Personally, I think just ordering the plain mayo might be tastier than the truffle mayo. This shop has a huge selection of sauces – the most I've ever seen at a frites shop in Amsterdam.

We had large fries and other "national dishes". It was good and we were served quickly.

UPDATE: After writing this review, I realized that the sauces can be purchased separately. You absolutely should. If I had done so, I could have given 5 stars. I went during lunchtime on a weekday and there was no queue. The fries were good. The largest size is 900g, so you can calculate your portion size accordingly. Some reviews mentioned that too much sauce is included; yes, there is a lot, but it's better than too little. The only problem is the box design! The sauces stay on top and are all coated in sauce, making it impossible to reach the ones at the bottom. In other words, the sauce is unevenly distributed inside the box.

A child with a toothpick in their mouth takes your order; the atmosphere is filthy. The fries and sauce we had at Fabel were much better.

I'd honestly say these are the best fries I've ever had, but the sauces are very heavy; I wouldn't recommend trying every sauce.

The staff were really kind and helpful. We weren’t sure which sauce to choose for our fries, and they were very attentive and helped us decide. Recommendation: always try the fries with any sauce, and make sure to add the Parmesan cheese on top. It’s included with the fries, and honestly, don’t skip it.

While the fries are good, the service is really bad. I ordered fries and a frikandel. Was instantly asked to pay and got the fries. Don’t eat here. I was truly disappointed by this place. The fries were overcooked and tasted like a pure, they were frying them in oil that was DARK BROWN which is super super unhealthy. Parmesan and mayo seemed really really cheap. I would recommend the Fabel Friet fries 10 times more. Skip this place!

There is nothing special about the taste at all. The truffle mayo sauce is tasty, but it’s just the kind of flavor you can get anywhere else haha. As a tourist, I just bought it to try once... I ordered the small size, but the portion was large so I was full. This branch was less crowded than others.

Manneken Pis Nieuwendijk is a good option if you're looking for something quick and efficient. It's a fast and efficient meal, ideal when you're in a hurry. The fries are thick and crispy, and the cheese sauce is truly delicious. If you have a big appetite, the medium portion is recommended; for a smaller one, the small is more than enough. The woman who took our order was very kind and pleasant. However, the young man at the till (tall, with light eyes) was a bit stressful; you could tell he just wanted to ring up the payment quickly and finish up, even though there was no one behind us. Overall, it's a place that does the job for a quick and tasty meal.

The fries were very good! We tried them with the Manneken Pis sauce, but it became a bit cloying; we should have ordered it separately. A medium cone with one sauce cost approximately €8, but it was more than enough!

There's no seating area. You take your food away and eat it elsewhere. Even though there are queues, they move quickly. I can't say we absolutely loved it, but we're happy we tried it while in Amsterdam. We tried jopple and tartar sauces. The first one had a unique oniony flavor, but too much of it became cloying. The tartar was a familiar taste. The medium size was enough for two people.

If I could give a place a zero , sorry A BIG ZERO this would be the place, and because u have to press on rate I had to press on one, anyway yesterday I went after hearing so much about this place, and I ordered a small one and thank God I didn't order a medium size, I asked for both a cheddar sauce and and a parmesan cheese and they forgot to put the parmesan although the place wasn't crowded and it wasn't late to give the workers an excuse, I asked for parmesan and they immediately added it, anyway when I started to eat most of the french fries were over fried (either they were old or refried , and I don't think they did it because they have a lot of clients, and most of the fries have black spots on them, which means they are dangerous to eat, and I'm speaking as an ex fast food industry worker, and due to my education back in college,and the fries were so so overrated ,I don't believe saying this but they're much worse than a very well know fast food restaurant!!!! I only ate a few of them after removing of course as much as possible of the fries with black spots and then put the bag on a chair in the middle of the square, and went away..... So, so disappointed

There are many sauce options and 3 sizes available, but the quality of the potatoes and sauces leaves much to be desired. I do not recommend it.

Yes, friends, this supposedly famous brand you see here serves stale potatoes instead of fresh ones. The potatoes you're given here are practically stale and tasteless. We've eaten delicious, hot, fresh potatoes in many places in Amsterdam, but this store gave us stale potatoes. When we didn't want them, they refused a refund. They're not tourist-friendly, and we condemn them. We definitely don't recommend them. 👏 There are definitely places around that sell much tastier and fresher potatoes.

My visit was on April 1, 2026. My order included ketchup and truffle sauce. Honestly, it was very average.

There was a short wait; your order will be ready soon. Unfortunately, the fries did not meet expectations; they were not soft but had an unpleasant, chewy texture. Furthermore, the potato flavor was bland and insufficiently salted. The Amsterdam onion mayonnaise was too thin in consistency. The satay sauce, on the other hand, was good.

Got fries today. The guy filling the bag of chips, filthy guy. He was blowing his nose, picking up fries from the floor, needs to change his gloves after all these dirty actions, but oh no, he treats customers like a herd of cattle, no respect. Hygiene is ZERO. Oh, and if you think I'm talking nonsense, just look at your own camera footage from today around 12:30. This really needs to be checked by the Food and Drug Administration...

I believe I was scammed. I got a medium fries with the "special" sauce, that is ketchup mayo and some diced onions and they charged my card 17€!!!!! It should have been something between 7-9€. Pure disappointment.

If you're looking for Amsterdam's iconic fries, Manneken Pis in Nieuwendijk is a must-visit! 🍟 The portions are enormous; there are three different sizes to choose from, and they're truly enormous. There's plenty of sauces, but the only small flaw, if we really have to find one, is that the fries are a bit soft compared to the crispier ones at other places, but the flavor is still excellent. Overall, I absolutely recommend it.

Overrated french fries place, since theyre the most famous one. I never understood the hype, so we tried. Yes. fries were fresh but nothing special at all! Not even salted enough. Over cooked/crispy on the outside, without the sauces whicj you pay everything extra , it will be one of the super bland fries I have ever tried. I went to same store in Belgium as well, the same overhyped atmosphere, but same quality. nothing impressive at all.

Well, I don’t think I understood the hype because, to me, the fries were just decent. They were definitely delicious, but there was nothing really special about them.

Based on one of the main streets towards the town centre, this place is going to be the first place a lot of people discover that sell those famous Dutch Frites. I got a medium cone for €6.45 I think, then 2 different sauces for an additional €2.50. Yes that's a lot to pay for some chips, but it's Amsterdam, it's aimed at tourists and in their defence, the chips are excellent! They're hot, perfectly seasoned and with just the right amount of sauces on top. If you like a little bit of spice, I'd recommend the Andaluce sauce. I also got the cheese sauce which was also really good.

It was a bit difficult to communicate with the staff, but the taste was amazing. You must try it when you go to Amsterdam. I had a medium cone with Parmesan cheese and friet sauce (mayonnaise), I recommend it.

The fries are fantastic. The portions are huge. There are 26 different sauces. It's extremely crowded, but worth the wait.

I had a medium-sized portion of fries here. They tasted okay, but nothing special. The preparation was quite the show, which was nice to watch, but didn't really enhance the flavor. In my opinion, the portions are quite expensive: a medium portion with sauce costs almost €10. Personally, I think that's too much for fries. You can try it once and form your own opinion, but for me, the price-performance ratio isn't quite right.

It's good, but not the best. There are certainly quite a few places across Europe that serve this level of food. Even the Munich, Germany, chain Pomes Frunde offers this level of quality. Still, the taste is not bad, and the fact that they offer a wide variety of sauces is a plus.

We found it on the street, so I'm not sure if this is the branch we went to, but the line near the station is so long that I recommend eating here. The smallest portion is generous, the fries are warm and crispy, and the sauce is delicious. It's worth a try, but even if you don't try it, you won't regret it. You should eat it on the street, but the smell of marijuana and cigarettes makes it hard to fully savor the flavor. I recommend going to a restaurant and eating somewhere else.

We ordered large fries. It was difficult for two people to eat it all. They were delicious with the sauce. The fries were hot and tasty. Sometimes there's a queue in front, but it moves quickly. There's one person preparing the orders and one person at the cash register. Orders are prepared quickly because of the division of labor. You don't have to wait long. You should definitely try them if you're in Amsterdam.

It's a takeaway chip bar, with optional sauces (€1.50 extra). We went there as we had seen a review that they were gluten free - which they are. The chips were hot and filled a gap on a cold day. The server was very polite and the service was quick. The chips are served in cardboard cones, with a choice of small (€6), medium (€8) and large (€10) Warning - if you ask for a sauce make sure you like it, because the chips are practically swimming in it.
