Definitely a recommendation, sitting in a beautiful garden you’re feeling right at home. Share some starters, and move on to their small but well executed main dishes. All dishes are prepared with a Mediterranean touch. If these aren’t already enough reasons to go, i want to point out that this is one of the most inexpensive restaurants that really serve quality dishes I have seen in a long time. Good portion size and a satisfied feeling. I praise this kitchen and wished I had visited earlier

What a gem of a place! The garden setting is so charming and the hospitality was 5-star. Tasty, generous food and you have a perfect restaurant.

Customer is king at Marres Kitchen. A green paradise in the middle of the city. If you want to sit outside, this terrace is recommended. The food was delicious, the service super friendly. We suddenly found ourselves in a hellish rain shower, but the staff did everything they could to keep us dry. We were led inside with umbrellas. We will definitely come back!

You'll be seated in the leafy courtyard, and the staff is friendly and attentive, ready to help with any questions. The food is truly delicious; everything is individually seasoned and tastes varied and exceptionally delicious.

Good atmosphere, beautiful territory, but bad cocktails, terrible service. We waited an hour for pasta and duck. It felt like they forgot about us. There was no change of cutlery after the appetizers. We asked for a spoon for pasta - they brought us nothing. In general, if you need wine (it is hard to spoil) and just appetizers - a good option. But sitting with a child for an hour and waiting for pasta - I would not wish on anyone. There are many other cool places in Maastricht - go there :)

The 3 girls serving were mean girls, after we ordered they started gossiping about us behind the bar while they were looking at us and when they realized we weren't very happy with that we didn't get good service anymore. A blonde girl in particular was very pushy and wanted us out of the door very quickly. The food was also nothing special so we will definitely not come back.

Called to ask if they still had room to eat something for two. No problem said the person on the other end of the phone. Agreed a time and left immediately. After a 20 minute drive and a 10 minute walk we arrived well in time to be told that they no longer serve food, without further explanation... I mentioned that we had made a reservation and specifically stated that it was for food. They didn't care at all and we were just waved outside in a friendly manner.

We had made a reservation by phone asking if we could come and eat something. They had confirmed this. Upon arrival (20 min drive) we were told that there was no more hot food but only 2 cold dips. Very sad and very unprofessional. They didn't seem to care either.

Perfectly executed dishes in a lovely garden. What a gem this is. The chefs here know how to make the classics of Mediterranean cuisine dance over your tongue. No frills whatsoever, but simply by far the best mezze ever eaten. Be sure to order the vegetarian cold mezze and the tortellini with sage butter - you won't get them better anywhere. Friendly service and an idyllic spot. This is where you want to go!

Had a really amazing lunch here. The waitress was super friendly and attentive and the food was just delicious! The portion sizes are perfect for ordering multiple different things to try/share. The garden is really beautiful and the atmosphere is great.

Hidden gem in the city center! The garden is extremely peaceful and beautiful, and there is plenty of space between tables so everyone can enjoy their privacy. The staff is super friendly and competent which makes the experience complete❤️

A nice restaurant close to the center. I find the atmosphere unique and pleasant and the staff friendly. When the weather is nice you can sit outside in the garden. I ate mutabal with homemade focaccia bread and mutabal. It all tasted very delicious. The falafel was crunchy and also fluffy. The fresh rose tea is also a favorite when I visit Marres kitchen.

I ordered the duck and it was delicious, the portions are a little small but the atmosphere is great and the food is very good.

This place is a little away from the main streets but totally worth finding - it’s true hidden gem! Menu is limited (a good point) but interesting choice mixing east and south Mediterranean with Italian. We shared a mezze plate of roasted vegetables for starters, the tagliatelle al funghi and slow-cooked lamb dish similar to a tagine but with potatoes. All tasted delicious with fresh herbs and home cooking flavour. We finished with some cooked figs which were superb. Relaxed vibe and ambience with super friendly and responsive service from the team. Reasonable prices. The charming garden is a bonus if the weather is warm. Definitely highly recommended if you want Mediterranean cooking!!

A very good restaurant that specializes in Italian and Middle Eastern food and both cuisines are fused in one dish or the other. So I had something Middle Eastern and my wife had something Italian. Our starters had a bit of both. In other words, if you want to try something classic with a touch of new, you've come to the right place. The prices were also fair. Thanks again for the lovely evening!

Found a nice place in the center of Maastricht with a cozy and oriental atmosphere. Cozy, intimate and stylish. The staff were very attentive and took the time to explain what was not halal (only two items: duck leg and mascarpone cake and the rest is halal). We ordered hummus with bread, spaghetti alle vongole and the dish of the day: fettuccine al funghi. Everything was very tasty. Definitely recommended if you are looking for a cozy place with good food!

Primero cenamos aquí en 2021 nos encantó la comida y visitamos muchas veces hasta septiembre de 2024, cuando el propietario había hecho cambios en las porciones de comida disminuyendo en tamaño y aumentando los costos. Las porciones estaban bien inicialmente. Tal decepción que nunca va de nuevo. Qué pena.

In the middle of Maastricht and through the gate into a green, semi-wild garden. Simple tables and chairs or benches. High price for a simple lunch. Gambas taste mediocre and with a sous that is too salty. Bread looked nice but tasted mediocre. Atmosphere great in alternative environment. This also applies indoors.

Lebanese inspired menu and their beef stew is finger licking good. Staffs were polite and attentive. I have personally visited three times and this restaurant never disappoint. If I must choose 1 thing to improve is the food serving time. Sometimes it took really long to get our food but hey, all good stuff deserved some waiting time no?

Everything perfect, thanks for the experience. Hidden gem with nice plates with oriental flavours, starters to share, mains to enjoy alone and deserts to love. The atmosphere inside or outside is similarly nice and I would definitely recommend it and will come again. My favourite are the fichi con vino rosso for desert. Thanks to the friendly staff 👏

Wat een geweldige binnentuin hebben, die hebben ze nu als achterterras in gebruik. (Alle meubilair staat buiten). Wait to be seated is het devies, maar we kregen binnen 5 minuten een tafeltje. Er staan zeer bijzondere gerechten op de kaart, maar het was te vroeg voor het diner en voor allemaal voor een ander taartje. Ik koos voor de vijgen, dat bestond uit een 8 tal ? vijgen, opgediend met een heerlijk sausje. Niet heel vullend dit gebak, maar wel heel lekker. Conclusie is we moeten hier een keer terug komen, want alles wat we voorbij zagen komen zag er prachtig uit. Kijk ook even achter in de tuin, prachtige planten en een bijzonder gebouwtje.

A pesar de nuestra reserva temprana, el restaurante intentó cambiar nuestro menú a uno más caro a última hora y fueron muy antipáticos. Tuvimos que cancelar el evento ya que no pudimos encontrar una alternativa para nuestro grupo en tan poco tiempo.

Had a really bad experience with this restaurant. We had a reservation for over 5 month already and even gave Marres our food-choices (more then 1 week prior to the event) because they told us, this way it is easier to organize. Somehow it was still to complicated for them and they made us feel not welcomed by changing their opinions last minute. We had no other choice then to cancel because we felt not welcomed anymore. Really not costumer friendly. Really disappointed.

This restaurant prioritizes profit over customer satisfaction. We cannot recommend this place at all. We had a reservation for a birthday dinner since January, with clear communication of our preferences from the outset. Everything was set until a week before the event when we contacted the restaurant to finalize the details. The staff's behavior abruptly shifted to unprofessionalism and inflexibility, seemingly focused only on profit. This one-sided interaction, with no effort to accommodate our needs, left us with no choice but to cancel the reservation.

Reserved for a bigger group 5 month in advance. As previously discussed, we let them know our food choices two weeks prior to the reservation. Close to the reservation they’ve changed their terms saying we’d have to order off a preset menu, showing no flexibility and disregarding what had been agreed upon month in advance

We actually wanted to make a reservation for the evening in the afternoon, but since there was nothing left available, we stayed there and got a place in the beautiful garden. You sit comfortably, surrounded by greenery, at tables without covers and enjoy the peace and quiet. Delicious dishes, a mix of Italian and Levantine cuisine are on the menu. The dish of the day today was vegetarian ravioli in butter and sage, delicious. Also the duck leg, tenderly braised. Beforehand we had mixed antipasti with beans, peas, okra, zucchini, mushrooms and eggplant, with muhamarah and bread. We enjoyed everything very much. We drank water and rosé wine. Price/performance ratio was good.

Four of us had dinner here on Fri February 16, 2023. It was quite a disappointment. The location was OK and the service was very friendly, but the food was really very simple. The entrance with hummus and bread was tasty but very little. The main course, in our case stewed duck and a tortillioni dish, had some flavor but was not tasty or special at all. I got the smallest duck leg I've ever seen with just one medium sized potato and one medium cooked carrot on the side! And that for an adult man? That just can not be. The sauce had a very weak taste. And for the price of approximately €22, this was really disproportionate. Not recommended and I won't be going there again.

Nice alternative restaurant in Maastricht.

As soon as you enter, the herbs from the kitchen await you. A medium-sized room with a number of tables, which are used in the winter months. Outside is a large garden, which is used in the summer months. Went with a small group and shared a starter. Main course and dessert were everyone for themselves.

Hidden in a courtyard just outside the city center is Marres Kitchen. A restaurant with dishes inspired by the Middle East and Mediterranean area. It is quite small so it is not too busy but it fills up quickly so book on time. The dishes taste delicious and are special. The menu is not too extensive which is always a good sign. The portions were on the small side for the price you paid.

They managed to squeeze us in with no reservation (side note, you should probably book if you want to eat here, we came on a Thursday and it was packed) and we're so glad they could fit us in. The food was absolutely incredible, I think the duck dish was the best one I've ever had. Would 100% come here again and highly recommend

Delicious! Braised lamb shoulder (Kharuf) was finger licking good. Highly recommend their Baba Ghanoush, best ever, delicate smoky taste.
