Martina Cakes it Easy in Bovenveen

Dirtiest bakery in the Netherlands! A little hygiene in the store would do wonders. I've gotten sick so many times from the rolls and pastries. Packaged marble cakes were covered in mold two days later, even though the packaging was still sealed. Yuck!!

What kind of bakery opens at 8am? That's not enough time to get breakfast for workers

Very disappointing experience. I was clearly standing in line to pay and was on the phone at the time. However, when it was my turn, the employee decided to help the customer behind me first. When I asked why, the answer I received was: “Because you were on the phone.” I find this very strange. I was just standing properly in line and ready to pay. If the employee wasn't sure if I wanted to come first, he/she could have just asked instead of letting someone behind me go ahead without saying anything. Apparently, I am now wondering: are customers who are on the phone not helped here, even if they are standing in line and it is their turn? This did not feel customer-friendly and certainly not respectful. Very unfortunate.

This bakery offered a different variety of pastries and fresh baked goods. We couldn't choose what we wanted because everything looked delicious and the store smelled good.

I can highly recommend the bakery! The cinnamon rolls are so delicious (as everything else we tryed). We went there 3 times while our vacation. We will also miss the bread rolls...
