The food is tasty, but you have to be patient when it's busy.

On New Year's Eve, we ended up here after a long day of shopping in De Hoven. We were starving and mainly looking for something warm and good. What we got was much more than that. Despite the enormous crowds, we received a very warm welcome and were immediately accommodated. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and relaxed, exactly what you hope for at such a time. The service was truly exceptional, and that was entirely thanks to Elaine. She took all the time for us, thought along with us, and made us feel welcome right away. As the icing on the cake, she even arranged some nuts for us, just because she could. The food, the service, and the way we were welcomed made this visit an unexpected highlight of the day. This is the kind of place where you come in for the food, but come back for the people. Highly recommended, and a special thank you to Elaine for the wonderful service.

Had a lovely lunch, the waiting time was fine (it was busy) and it tasted super good.

Very friendly service. And what I love most is that when you order tea, you get a pot of it. That should be the case everywhere.

Good place to eat and drink outside the city center. Musc is not too loud. They also have board games to play for kids and adults.

We had to wait an incredibly long time for everything, even though the restaurant was practically empty. In my opinion, the two waitstaff clearly lack the insight and oversight required to work in the hospitality industry. On Sunday, there was only one cook in the kitchen, who seemed to be frying everything. Hamburgers were served with jalapeños, which wasn't on the menu, probably due to a lack of the right ingredients. The fish and chips were also a disgrace, with the fish fried far too dark. The bill arrived at 7:00 PM, without any announcement of a final round or closing time. In short, this was a one-time thing, never again!

We didn't get around to eating. After our drinks, we waited 25 minutes for the staff, who didn't make any contact. When we started to leave (drinks finished), they did come quickly. The restaurant wasn't even half full, so that can't be the problem.

We had to wait an outrageously long time for our food, both for the main course and dessert. The waitstaff forgot to provide cutlery for both the main course and dessert. A soup spoon was offered for dessert. Extremely poor service with hardly any guests in the restaurant. Absolutely disappointing. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Great for eating with small children; there's a play area you can look out onto. The staff is very friendly, but less professional. The food is mediocre; the second portion of spare ribs is always worse and smaller than the first.

Delicious food in a cozy atmosphere. But the chefs are unhygienic and don't seem to care. They also touch their faces and don't wash their hands, which is a real shame!

Had lunch, second cup of coffee arrived after lunch was finished. A nice gesture from the staff, and I got the second cup for free. My compliments. Never had that elsewhere before. I'll definitely be back.

Frozen fish, really not good 🤮unfortunately. The steak with croma is fine, but half a croma on your plate is too much. Unfortunately, no vegetables at all 🤔

Unlimited food We sat for 4 hours and otherwise had half a rib, not great. Glass shards flew around our ears. It was outside, and the upstairs windows were open, so we just got wet. So no, not great.

The food was good. Thats the only reason why there is one star. The service was horrible. We where a big table, and half of the food came, we waited 20 minutes for the other food. It’s already cold. And the staff was rude. Would not recommend.

Nice, atmospheric restaurant with friendly service and reasonable prices. We've been there several times, mostly for lunch and a few times for dinner. The restrooms could use a bit more attention, though. They don't smell fresh.

First time there, the latest reviews are not great. The soup was also inedible. Leave it, the sweet potato fries were half burnt. But they couldn't do anything at the checkout, "we should have said earlier", but no one walked by anymore. Too bad about the service! Could have been solved easily.

Been here for the first time, ordered a bread basket... it was just sandwiches, not toasted, nothing.... not tasty at all. The satay that I wanted to order was gone.... it was 6.30 pm.... then I had the steak, which was tasty, but here were fries and normal sandwiches again... the food took a long time before we got it.... I had to get up and ask for the bill myself, because the staff was too busy talking to each other. Restaurant also looked a bit old fashioned. In short, we would not come here again. Not recommended unfortunately!

I regularly come to Martinus for a beer and a drink. In the afternoon. Ordered lunch once in a while with family. Pub quiz ok. Nice atmosphere and I always get great help. So hence a 5. See you soon. LED

What bad food we had at noon and everything that was supposed to be warm was just lukewarm, including fries and a boiled egg at twelve o'clock is quite strange, tuna salad was dripping moisture, bread was dry, everything was already on the Distribution Desk but it took a while before it was served I said it's lukewarm yes fries cool down quickly hahahaha really professional answer staff didn't feel like it. Such a shame.

Enjoyed the sun on the terrace this week. The service was friendly and polite, but some customers did have to wait a very long time. But the 12 hours was disappointing. Nowhere did it say that the boiled egg would be warm, but such a greenish yolk of an ice-cold egg is still disappointing. The leek soup was really tasty, but I started to doubt whether the soup of the week might not be soup from the previous week. It just wasn't all that.

After dropping our children off at school, we were waiting in front of the door at 9am, the opening hour. It wasn't until 9:10 am that the door was opened by a lady who spoke to us in a rude manner. We wanted to help her with the door, but she snapped at us and said she wanted to do it herself. What an unfriendly reception. Never again at Martinus for us!

Last week my boyfriend and I had dinner at Martinus in de Hoven. What a nice and cozy place that is! We had a delicious meal and the staff is quick and friendly. For us it is certainly worth repeating!

You can see how that lady looks at you. We don't have a lot of patience for that. My girlfriend and I were the first customers and when she opened the door, I held it open (kind of like help) She says: 'Can I open the door myself?' I thought I wouldn't say anything and we walked in, but she continued with we're not open yet. Sorry? It's 10 past 9? What a cheeky little lady she was! It is clearly indicated that we will no longer go inside and will have a drink on the other side. Never again here. Don't have to see that look of hers anymore.

Dessert advice don't take crème brulée. It's like a layer of frost on the windshield of the car. That's how little it is. The other food was fine, nothing to complain about.

The service was very slow, we were hanging around the bar a bit.

Yesterday we had something to eat here. How bad! We ordered 2x loaded fries and 1x tenderloin tips. It took more than half an hour for the food to arrive (the place was only 1/3 full) and everything was cold! The loaded fries were also definitely not loaded! When we indicated this, they offered us something else, but we had to wait another half hour. Scandalous! Leave everything alone out of misery. They did take the dishes off the bill, hence 3 stars for the service! This case is a waste of your time and money!

Orders does not come. Long waiting

They cannot do a beefsteak. They tried twice and nowhere near medium. And that was not the first time there. No intention to go there anymore.

Went for dinner with 3 friends and we got all our food after half an hour but the last dish was an omelette and more expensive an hour because they forgot. Food was not special and tastes standard. Nice atmosphere.

Looks nice, but the kitchen staff could use gloves and do their work better

So you sit opposite the kitchen and the cook is not wearing gloves, preparing plates as if it were in his own home!! If a plate is dirty, he takes it off and just serves your food on it!! I think it's downright scandalous, but the service is okay.

Tasty food. I had ordered the weekly special, the sign at the door said 'venison steak', so I was very surprised when I was served a pork tenderloin. Nevertheless, the food was very tasty and there was a wide choice. The service was a bit sloppy and some things went wrong, but they were young people too. Atmosphere was fine. The pub quiz on the first Thursday of the month is a lot of fun! Furthermore, fast, good service and a good atmosphere. You just forget for a moment that you are actually in the Hoven.

Went for coffee today at 11 o'clock in the morning. The apple pie was already gone and then they still have to work all day. The toilet was tidy because it usually stinks there and is also too dark for older people.

The drink was expensive, if I had such a drink it was really small, I paid for €5 and it was beer and tasty.

Very poor service. Takes too much time to serve. We wanted starters to eat until the main dish is cooked, but they started cooking the main dish after we finished our starters??? The waitresses are careless and the food took 50 mins to come in total. We ordered MEDIUM WELL STEAK and you can see how it came in the photos. Not only that, the chicken we ordered came so cold that the sauce on it was frozen, see in the photos. Also it was too loud. Don't come here ever. It's an expensive place and doesn't deserve it at all.

Good food, I ordered Mosselen uit de oven (Mussels covered in cheese with a garlic butter sauce) with some brown bread to soak up the butter sauce. Good service.

We had dinner here tonight. We had prepared ourselves for a pleasant evening. When we entered, the front of the restaurant was completely full, but we were able to choose a seat at the back. But soon a quiet dinner was no longer possible. There was a karaoke party and/or bingo party going on in the front of the restaurant. With the accompanying loud music and a presenter. We could no longer understand each other. The food was mediocre, we ordered stew and fresh fries. The taste was good but the meat was on top of the fries, which became completely soggy. It was fries and stew like you get at the snack bar. Not restaurant worthy. But the noise was the worst of all. We were done with it and paid. The bartender asked if we still wanted the fresh vegetables that had also been ordered but had not arrived. No, we wanted to leave as quickly as possible. That's fine if there are these types of parties, but please mention it on your website or upon arrival. We saw even more people leave because of the noise. No, I don't think we'll come here again. It was a completely disappointing experience.

Zo slecht. Bestelde artikelen 2 jusl en 2 sauzijnrnbroodjrs . 2 jus krijgen we snel maat de 2 sauzijnenbroodjes duurde 30 munten en was nog steeds niet geleverd. Grote bek van medeweksterrZe staan je gewoon uit te lacheijks .

It's delicious, also its very good atmosphere

I only ordered a coffee and an orange, and then also received the menu. The coffee was served with a cookie, a bag of Jumbo sugar and no coffee milk, which I had to get myself, which was also from Jumbo. I thought that was a bit strange, maybe we had run out of "normal" stuff, I actually thought it was a bit "cheap". The orange was Sissi zero, I didn't ask for that, I just wanted the sugars. Too bad this was not mentioned when ordering, because they only had Sissi zero. The card said that the coffee was €3.10 and the Sissi zero also €3.10, when paying I had to pay €5.90.... strange. There was no real atmosphere, not my place, but someone else may experience it differently. The food looked delicious to others, hence the 5 stars.

Na een lange dag op zaterdag hier een hapje eten. Dat viel toch wel tegen, brood met smeersels (2 bruine boterhammen schuin doorgesneden) voor 6 euro! Voor mij de biefstuk met jus, iets taai maar goede jus helaas smakeloos dat is zo jammer. Mijn vrouw stoofvlees met zoete aardappel frietjes, stoofvlees was nog koud zelfs iets gevroren en de frietjes veel te lang gebakken, erg donker. Het is een mooie zaak maar culinair is er nog wel inhaalslag te maken. Ook zou het terras wat meer aandacht kunnen gebruiken, ziet er saai uit. Het stoofvlees hoefden we niet te betalen.

I had a capatchino with a friend, it was a very pleasent time. The staff are very friendly and the coffee is very good.

disappointed when the manager or the owner, an older gentleman, is not present, the staff act ugly and they don't come to take orders, they wait for a long time (15 minutes) and ask where can I order?! After 20 minutes someone came to take our order. Unfortunately this happens more often. Shame!

Had lunch here, good service, had a well-filled sandwich for lunch. wide choice and enough seating. both inside and on the terrace. Parking is available in the shopping center parking lot or across the street (paid parking). smooth service

Delicious food and drinks. Rib fingers sandwich (finger lickin' delicious) and a spread of ham cheese (deliciously baked) and latte macchiatos. Attractive decor, friendly staff and good/fast service. Good location too. After shopping in the shopping center you can relax here and have something to eat or drink. Highly recommended for us and we will definitely come back.

I never write a review, but I couldn't resist this time. We came here for a drink and asked for a menu to see what options were available. The answer we received: "Do you need a menu for drinks? That is not necessary for a beer." A strangely unjustified observation, apparently he can see into the future. The best option is to keep this person far away from customers.

I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant! The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The girl who helped us was incredibly friendly and attentive, which made our evening even more special. I can definitely recommend this restaurant for a delicious meal and great service!

Had dinner there on March 25. When ordering the main course there were no schnitzels left. Because I had previously taken a croma beef steak, I decided to take a Martinusburger. How I regretted this, just a piece of bread with some kind of hamburger and a small portion of fries with mayo. The price is 18 euros, the beef is outrageous at 21 euros, in short, you can't eat it. I won't be eating there again for a while.

Wekelijks komen we hier. Sinds vandaag worden de wijnglazen zeer matig gevuld. Afgelopen dinsdag was dit nog niet het geval. Ik heb hier wat van gezegd wat netjes werd opgepakt. Opdracht van de baas middels een maatbekertje. Ik kon 2 glazen voor deze keer gratis krijgen. Heb vriendelijk bedankt en netjes de hele factuur voldaan. Ben geen bedelaar. Uiteraard voor de laatste keer!

Nice thing. Good location too. The tuna tataki was really delicious. Also the sweet potato fries. And a lot too! Together with the grilled vegetables it was a good meal. The prawns as an appetizer and spare ribs as a main course were also great. Of course there will be some start-up problems, but this business certainly has potential to grow into a top restaurant. We will come again, but then for lunch.

Waren er al eerder geweest! Met 8 personen. Nu weer voor een wijntje en een hapje ! Bestelde twee borrel plank a €15.- Wat ons verbaasde , dit waren twee bitterballen twee mini frikandellen en 4 kaasstengels en twee kipnuggets Naar ons idee vrij simpel! Vroegen er naar , ja alles ging omhoog!!!’ Was het antwoord!!! Wij komen er regelmatig, maar op deze manier!

Deeply disappointed as this was a place we always enjoyed coming. However, the last two times we ate here were nothing to write home about. Last Wednesday evening's visit was really the low point. We started with our appetizer, the sticky chicken, which the waitress told us was "something with chicken." Okay, fine, the waitress apparently didn't know exactly what she was serving, but it was still very tasty nonetheless. The atmosphere was good. Then we got to the main course, the chicken burger. It looked delicious too and my sister couldn't wait to bite into it. When I looked at the rest of her plate after her second bite, I was shocked. The burger patty was pink and raw. I inspected my own burger and to my dismay it was also raw. After we mentioned this to the waitress, she told us that it was indeed too raw and that we would get a new one. She didn't seem to care much, as if serving raw chicken was just business as usual. This is reason enough for us to never come back here again. By the way, kudos to the other waitress who spoke to us afterwards and showed her compassion, she said she was speechless, because serving raw chicken really goes beyond all proportion.

It is a nice opportunity, the staff is friendly, the service is good, you just have to say clearly what you want to eat and how it is written down by the service, but it does not arrive the way you want it, an error is human, but the food is excellent

Nice restaurant at first glance. However, it remains with the interior. Staff no time and unfriendly/rude. Wanted to order something and waved at the waiter. Apparently it turned out not to be right and she briefly imitated the gesture towards a colleague. Ridiculing your customer is apparently normal. Further view of the kitchen. However, what you see is not pleasant. The cook was washing his hair and face under the tap, which he then dried with a tea towel, which was then used again in the kitchen. Really so dirty!! Indicated upon departure (didn't eat there again of course) but little response to this..... I would definitely say don't eat and look further! A filthy rude display.

At first it looked like a nice place, prices are ok. However the service is not the best and the food takes a long time to be done. We asked for more tap water but the answer was “No” because people drink wine and beer (none of us could drink alcohol or coffee). The only water they have is sparkling so we had to drink it. It is ridiculous for a restaurant not having still water, even worse if we are paying for it.

Vorige maand heb ik hier gegeten. Helaas viel het tegen. De ontvangst was bepaald niet hartelijk. Een medewerker aan de bar had meer interesse voor zijn telefoon. De bediening was traag en niet erg attent. Mijn biefstuk was nog te doen. De spareribs van een tafelgenoot waren echter helemaal verbrand. Helaas niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

Lekker gegeten in dit sfeervolle restaurant. De muziek staat alleen te hard. Dit hebben ze snel zachter gezet.

Heerlijk gegeten tegen een gemiddelde prijs

Prima zaak om even snel te eten. Schenken gelukkig niet benepen glazen wijn. Dat is ook wel weer eens fijn. Prettige, Nederlandstalige bediening.

Kop thee gedronken super het is niet 1 glas wat je krijgt maar een leuke mini thee pot. Ik heb er 2,5 glas uit gehaald. Ze hebben ook heerlijk gebak van koekela

Lekkere malse biefstuk in croma jus met brood, en dat voor 9,- euro, wij komen zeker terug

Bij Kia Zoetermeer langs geweest voor een pitstop, tijdens het wachten werden er verschillende belegde broodjes aangeboden ,en die zagen er goed uit en vooral heel lekker,vroeg waar ze vandaan kwamen en bleek door Martinus verzorgd waren echt top broodjes 👍👍👍

We hebben hier meerdere keren echt heerlijk gegeten! De kippendijen salade is echt een aanrader. Het heeft een mooi nieuw interieur, aardig en behulpzaam personeel en achterin kan je heerlijk in het zonnetje zitten.

Ben deze avond met zijn 4en gaan eten en we hebben erg lekker gegeten. Erg gezellige inrichting en leuke sfeer. Het eten was goed en personeel erg lekker. Werd erg snel en vriendelijk geholpen, waarna de drankjes gelijk gebracht werden. We kwamen voor de eerste keer, maar komen zeker binnenkort terug.
