A very neat McDonald's. Easily accessible from the highway. The interior was spacious and looked neat and clean. Ordering was quick; you pick a table and the food is brought to your table. Plenty of spots outside on the terrace to enjoy the sun.

The food was typical McDonald's, meaning the taste and quality were what you'd expect from most branches. Personally, I found it fairly average, but nothing particularly bad. However, I was very pleasantly surprised by the clean restrooms. Unfortunately, that's not always a given in a busy fast-food restaurant. Here, everything was neat and well-maintained. 👍 The service was also very friendly and pleasant, which made the visit much more enjoyable overall. Therefore, despite the food being rather average for me, I'd give it a solid 4 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Went to the McDrive. Hamburgers were fine. Fries soggy, undercooked, and cold. It would be helpful to include napkins with orders in the future.

What you expect from McDonald's

Got an ice cream this afternoon; for the first time in ages, sat inside instead of going through the drive-thru. But an open kitchen like that isn't practical for what people can see. For instance, an employee who was delivering an order walked up to a table, then checked the trash can with her long painted (fake) nails, walked straight into the kitchen, and blithely continued with the nuggets without washing her hands. Lots of people with watches in the kitchen, and lots of long nails; a guy just ran his hand through his hair and then went back to the burgers. The girl's hair wasn't completely pinned up, but she didn't have a cap or clips to hold the locks back. Not hygienic; if you start paying attention to it, you won't want to eat here at all anymore. Maybe a HACCP refresher course? Luckily, I only came for an ice cream cone.

Here for the 3rd time today. They say third time's the charm for a reason. Indeed. Twice I was spoken to and helped in a friendly manner, but today, what terrible service that was. A stout woman, heavily made up, helped me at takeout window number 1. I gave her an empty plastic bottle; she got quite angry and looked at me rather grumpily. Well, you pay a fee for the plastic, so you get plastic back. Everything they give you is in cardboard; even the straw isn't plastic, and neither is the drink cup. I'll go somewhere else next time. You had 4 stars from me, now only 1. You can thank your employee for that.

Nice, clean McDonald's. You can't say that about every place. You can judge a restaurant by how clean the toilets are, and these were spotless. Super! Also really nice is the soap dispenser in the toilet itself so you can wipe the toilet seat clean, which I really appreciate. Seriously, 100 stars for the staff at this McDonald's. Meals were prepared quickly and were good.

Ordering food at the Drive-Thru takes an incredibly long time. There are two ordering kiosks, but one takes precedence over the other. As a result, you stand in line for a long time before it's your turn, while the other line can move forward without interruption. By the time you get your food, the ice cream has melted. Serving it took an incredibly long time as well.

They always forget items and sauce, and it's the same story every time. This really wasn't the standard in the past, but for a few years now, it's been the same old routine. Very unprofessional.

I am genuinely surprised that in 2026 there are still people who do not understand what the Russian flag represents to millions of victims of this war. If anyone still does not understand why its public display causes pain and outrage, I would be more than willing to explain. I can share countless stories of destroyed cities, ruined homes, stolen childhoods, and innocent people and children whose lives have been taken or forever changed. My intention is not to promote hatred toward any nationality. My intention is to ask for empathy and respect for those who continue to live with the consequences of this war every day. I kindly ask you to remove the Russian flag from the restaurant’s decorations and to consider the feelings of visitors for whom this symbol is a reminder of tragedy rather than a celebration of diversity. The drive-through is always really just fine, usually fast service. Just always outside of rush hour.

It was great, nothing more than you would expect from McDonald's. The drive-thru was quiet at the time, so I was served quickly. The staff was friendly and professional! In short, absolutely fantastic.

The staff was very friendly, and even though my coffee order was last in line, they prepared it for me while they waited for other more complex orders to be ready for other customers.

A tidy McDonald’s branch with plenty of experienced staff. It is clean both inside the restaurant and outside in the parking lot. There is also no litter to be seen in the vicinity from the McDrive. The toilets are clean.

Fast service, it wasn't busy. Ordered hamburgers and fries. The hamburgers were fairly warm, the fries were quite cold when they were delivered to the table. I reported this, and they received new ones really quickly! ... but now with a triple salt portion! Was this intentional or not? I reported this and had them taste it... (I didn't eat these fries either.) He replied: "I'll have them cleaned, fry them while they're cooking!" We just left... such a shame!

McDonald's Steenwijk is fine for a quick bite. The food is what you'd expect from McDonald's, but sometimes it takes a little longer for your order to be ready. The location is convenient and usually clean, although it can get a bit messy when it's busy. Overall, it's okay, but nothing special.

I had a unique experience today. There's a nice table in the corner with a screen where you can play games. I sat there with my daughter—there were two chairs—and we enjoyed an ice cream together. There wasn't a sign anywhere that said eating wasn't allowed there. After a while, a job interview started in that same corner. As I stood up to help my daughter with the game, a staff member came over to conduct the interview and said, "I'm going to use this chair, because eating isn't allowed here anyway." She then simply took the chair away, leaving me without one. My daughter and I were having a good time, so I didn't want to make a fuss, but this was really unacceptable. A table with a German family was also amazed, so it wasn't exactly my fault.

Worst Mac drive in the Netherlands

Despite the crowds, I was helped quickly by very friendly staff.

Today we went through the McDonald's drive-through and were the first car in line. We always check our order here because it's more often wrong than right. We had to wait for our order to be ready, which can easily happen; five other cars were ready first. We checked the order again, unfortunately, there were errors again, the wrong menu, etc. Our daughter didn't have a Happy Meal. We politely pointed out that it was incorrect, but they reacted quite irritated. They said they were going to "re-make it." End of story, the wrong items were removed and a new menu was put in. The items that were already there were ice cold. You're paying almost €50 for this. Please improve the service and focus of the staff to improve ordering and customer satisfaction.

Well, there's not much to say about McDonald's, but when I'm in the area, I always enjoy fries and a sandwich there. I can certainly enjoy that.

Eén toilet had geen toiletpapier meer. Achter de counter stonden 2 jonge vrouwen te praten. Eerst keken ze niet naar me, maar één van hen keek na even me aan. Ik zei dat ik wilde melden dat er geen toiletpapier meer was. Met een stalen gezicht zei ze: O. En ging weer verder met praten met haar collega. Is dit de houding die het personeel mag aannemen? Is zij opgeleid om een klantvriendelijke houding aan te nemen (want voor die klanten doe je het toch? Ik voelde me zeer negatief benaderd door haar. We kwamen koffie drinken bij MacDonald omdat andere horeca op maandagmorgen dicht was (dit was maandag 4/8 tegen 12 uur). De volgende keer hopen we dat de andere horeca wel open is.

Opens till late but after 9 you can't get in if anyone from the inside isn't coming out as the door won't open and must hit a switch from the inside to open the door but by the outside door there's no bell to ring for someone to come open the door

We just ordered two meatless burgers and both came with a meat patty. For people who don't want to eat meat, this is very unpleasant.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a clean and inviting interior and a friendly atmosphere. The staff were remarkably efficient and had a genuine smile, which is always a pleasure to see. I ordered my favorite classic, a Big Mac menu, and it was cooked to perfection. The Big Mac was juicy, the special sauce was deliciously creamy, and the lettuce, onion, and pickle were crispy fresh. The fries were golden brown and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfectly salted - just the way they should be! Even the Coke was deliciously cold and refreshing. What really made this visit special was the speed of service without compromising on quality. Despite the crowds, my order was processed very quickly, so I hardly had to wait. The tables were constantly being cleaned and the restaurant looked tip-top, which contributes to an enjoyable dining experience. In short, this McDonald's location consistently delivers a fantastic experience. It is the ideal place for a quick, tasty meal that always meets expectations. A big thumbs up to the management and team; you are doing a great job! I will definitely be back soon.

I waited 23 minutes in the drive thru, I couldn't place an order yet, while on the other side people were just placing their orders, several people left the queue. Without being able to place an order, it's outrageous, I just reported it here. You are just scolded by the staff. I will never come back here, the Mac in Meppel, top service, it can be like that, several people from the Mac in Steenwijk were also here, so Mac Steenwijk, think carefully about this🤬

Endless waiting times, actually unacceptable for fast food.

It was said a few times: just be patient, while at the other intercom cars were always being let through. When I was finally allowed to place my order and I asked about it I got a vague response and no apology. Seriously long waiting.

Yesterday evening I ordered with a few friends at McDonalds here in Steenwijk. We first had to wait quite a while before we got to the door, which is not a problem when it is busy. But that was not the case. When ordering we ordered an ice cream, fries etc. and a mac croquette with Mauonaise instead of mustard. They put mayonnaise on the side but on both sides of the coquettish there was a thick layer of mustard that was so much that my entire clothes were covered in it with the first bite. There were no napkins. We will definitely not come back here.

Salty burgers and no salt on the fries

Greeted politely and asked to wait a moment in the drive. That is not at all bad when it is busy, but if after waiting 2 to 4 minutes a car arrives in the other drive lane and the order is immediately taken and it can drive on and then another one after that, then something is really wrong. If you say something about that, you get the answer yes I can't do anything about it I have to do several things at the same time. Then you order a sharebox that is advertised in large letters on the advertising column and you are told that it is sold out sir. Don't advertise things you don't have.

Terribly busy, waiting at such a screen, annoying to click through. Fries were mega salty and white in color. Hamburger was 3 bites and cola very cold and sweet. And that for 6 euros. Poor.

McDrive put you on hold and make you wait for the other lane to order, and just clear the next lane even when other people are filling it up. Very frustrating to see the order of arrival not respected.

The explanation was that they have a new coffee machine, but that does not change the terrible taste of the coffee and milk. From now on we will go to Meppel where the coffee is good.

Fast operation. With mc deals a little cheaper. It's a shame that the MC Chicken are smaller than before. Fillet is now approximately 70 grams instead of 90 in the past.

Pick up here is a hassle. You always have to wait a long time here before you are helped. Especially if you compare this with Meppel. You can always drive straight through Meppel. But Steenwijk is..........
