After the first boat ride while waiting to take the second we had a quick snack. A unique culinary experience awaits you in this enchanting restaurant. A place that is difficult to give an unambiguous review of. Another Italian restaurant where no one or nothing is actually Italian. The place looked cozy from the outside, and was not particularly full and we made the mistake of choosing it in a situation where our schedule was busy. The guy who was running the service was very social, nice and chatty, at first it felt like customer service and we sat down. Then we realized that what seemed like customer service was actually not customer service: Our order was not taken for a long time... more than 25 minutes. We tried to make meaningful looks, but the guy was chatting away to other customers and a large group that was already leaving without any hurry. Just when it seemed that we might get our order in, some new sentence or story started and I was closer than I have ever been to just getting up and leaving the place. When the order was finally taken, we were joked about how angry we looked and made fun of with submissive gestures. I understood the idea, but we were not in the right frame of mind for it anymore. The chatty guy was busy alone at the cash register, taking orders and chatting with customers. There were at least three other people in the kitchen, whose roles were unclear to us. At least one of them would have been badly needed to help out in the dining hall! Once the order was taken, it took over half an hour for the first food (all of it simple pasta) to arrive, even though the restaurant was half empty. Half of our group got their portion, the other half had to wait. Maybe 10 minutes later, there was the sound of breaking plates coming from the kitchen and I smirked at our group: "that was our missing portions" :) A few minutes later, the guy skated over again, grinning humbly, and asked, did you hear the sound just now... that's where your remaining portions went. I wasn't in a more joking mood than before. The new ones were promised to last 5 minutes - it took 10+ minutes or more. I told them that we were really busy and that's why the situation was very difficult. When we got the rest of our portions, our first diners were already finished. The dishes were very mediocre pasta dishes. I don't know if they were missing salt, cream or cheese, but somehow the taste world wasn't that much more dynamic than the oatmeal we had spooned in the morning. We rushed through the dishes without even having time to taste or comment - we were really starting to get busy! When it was time to pay, the same circus again. The guy was chatting with other customers without any sense of urgency. Completely engrossed, not paying any attention to the overall situation in the hall or the waiting customers. Finally, I got up from the table myself and went to the checkout line. The exchange of compliments continued with the leisurely customers who were leaving, while I was already significantly peeking almost alongside them. After long minutes, I managed to pay us out and we left the place after almost 1.5 hours of idling and wondering. I'm giving the service two stars only because the guy was nice - although the style he chose didn't work in the situation. Many customers have given good reviews and I congratulate them on a successful visit. Unfortunately, I can't recommend the place based on our experience :( The price of the food at least was at the level of higher quality Italian restaurants... in our case, a small, albeit symbolic, discount wouldn't have hurt. Needless to say, we were late to our destination and the agreed upon schedule.

My dear German tourists, if you want to get to know Italian cuisine in Giethoorn, then you've come to the right place! Very authentic food and very good service.

My family and I had a wonder meal here. I was expecting something touristy while in Giethoorn but the Italian food was delicious, especially the Tiramisu! Our drinks were fantastic and the service was excellent. They were busy but each employee that came to the table made sure we were taken care of. We even had our two dogs on the terrace and it was no problem. Highly recommend!

Delicious food with a spectacular view and great service. We had a cheeseburger, lasagna, pizza with pesto sauce and chicken, latte macciato, and tiramisu. Trust me when I say it was ALL splendid - served hot and fresh. The service, including Yazan's humour, made for a great all-around experience (he's certainly a smooth talker and smart operator). If management is listening, please give him a raise, or better yet, include him IN management - he deserves it ;) Thanks again for making our trip to Gierthoorn special. May we meet again.

Delicious food and wonderful staff. We were a bit wary because of the reviews but decided to give them a try. And we are so glad we did. The staff, especially Yazan, was very attentive and helpful. We ordered the lasagna, cheeseburger and pesto pizza and it was all excellent. Yazan really impressed us with his cheerful attitude and humour. If we lived nearby, I would be here every week! It was a great meal in wonderful company on a gorgeous day.

Surprisingly, this restaurant was really good! We didn't have high expectations given it's in a tourist area. The waiter was very friendly and accommodating.

The people serving rarely look at you. They forgot one of our orders and it took forever to get their attention.

Pasta is al dente and seafood is fresh. Service is nice and attentive yet a bit slow which is understandable in our case, for some reasons the 2 staffs who serve us not only have to serve a near full house restaurant but also have to attend the boat rental which their efficiency is remarkable considering that they are multitasking.

The service was immaculate, our server Yasan was so friendly and was very quick with serving us and making sure we received everything we asked for. The food was really good and was perfect for our afternoon before we took a walk around the village.

THE WORST PIZZA ever. I ordered vegetariana and the toppings were oversized and uncooked. The pizza hardly had any cheese or tomato sauce and was completely bland. It was as if the toppings were just placed on top of the pizza after it was baked. Basically, a salad on top of bread. Don’t call it a pizza!! The chef was also rude. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! Don’t go here if you don’t want to ruin your day.

Being honest, the food wasn't A* at all, but we were really hungry after a day exploring and it lined our stomachs. However, what you didn't get was an uninterrupted canal view and really good prices for such a tourist hot-spot. The staff were also unapologetically Dutch and bought their good humour and welcome to our meal, really wanting to listen about our visit and plans for the rest of the trip. It's definitely worth noting that there is reasonable food out there in Giethorn!

I accidentally found a nice store. The apple pie is soft and the fresh cream is particularly delicious. Hot chocolate with fresh cream is also a perfect combination. The coolness of the fresh cream can help the chocolate cool down and form a moderate taste. The store clerk is very kind and can also Say thank you in Chinese and eat slowly. You can borrow the toilet in the basement for meals, which is quite clean👍 I haven’t eaten the takeout pizza yet, but it looks delicious~

I visited Giethoorn with my partner, and we had our lunch here. It's a nice decent restaurant, a bit pricy but I would understand as it's in Giethoorn. I ordered ravioli with ricola and spinach, and my partner ordered a vegetarian pizza. The food was good, and I was happy with the vegetarian options they provided. The staff is very nice and the ambiance is, of course, beautiful. Having lunch with the view of the canal and farm is very beautiful 😍

This is pasta with 4 cheese sauce, no salt no pepper, the cook doesn't know what he's doing, the second course pasta with pesto shrimp and arugula is equally awful

Worst place I have been in a long time. I can imagine that in the tourist season they have the pressure to maximize the earnings. We were a group of vegetarians and just wanted to try out something for an experience. They told us after letting us say that one item per person is a house rule in a very arrogant tone. If so why don't you write it in bold in your display menu? That is much better than letting the seating customer walk away.

The food is delicious and halal, and the staff are helpful and quick. We tried their margarita, lasagna, burger, and caesar, all of which were delicious and the prices were reasonable compared to other European restaurants.

Bad customer service to say the least. Location is great though. Food was nothing much to talk about. I would say slightly below average. The two of us ordered a large fungi pizza with 2 ginger ales but was not accepted by the waiter. He said one meal per person, this is the rule from his boss. We told we are not too hungry but he won’t accept. I then ordered a beef burger to get through. Fungi was sub par, the burger was a bit dry. No sauces were served. When asked, rather requested a tomato sauce, the waiter brought a tiny pack of say 10 ml for the two of us. Food was served quickly though. It’s a beautiful village and if I ever go there again, I will certainly look for a more welcoming restaurant.

The only thing going for this restaurant is its location. The food is mediocre while the service is below par. Our waiter was indifferent and unwelcoming. We ordered beef burger and Funghi pizza. The burger patty was not great and the fries were limp,, The pizza base was good but fungi and cheese were not great. All in all not a good experience

We had salad and pasta there for lunch and the food tasted good. But when we just wanted to drink a beer there 1.5 hours later after a walk (31 degrees), we were sent away, without food there is no drink??????
