Pannenkoeken & Brasserie De Witte Hoeve in Giethoorn

A magnificent spot to enjoy an unrushed dining experience in Giethoorn. The restaurant is situated on the edge of the main water canal, but not amidst all the hustle and bustle. Opted for the "Onbeperkte Pannenkoeken" (unlimited pancakes) which were superb. Staff were very friendly and servjce was good. I would not hesitate to eat at de Witte Hoeve again when visitng Giethoorn.

The 7 of us went to the pancake restaurant. Nice spacious restaurant and quiet atmosphere, many choices in terms of dishes. We had pulled pork pancake and focaccia with smoked salmon and pesto, it was a strange combination in terms of taste, but tasty and the portions were large! Well-filled bellies, we were so full that we couldn't eat any more dessert! Free parking is useful

Never had such a bad meal in Giethoorn before. Sat outside for a very long time at a dirty table that had not been cleared. In the end I gave a hint by putting all the rubbish on another table. Then we had to wait a long time until we were helped. Unlimited pancakes is only possible if the entire table participates. So just the two of you are not allowed if the other party goes for something else on the menu. Fries with stew, meat had a bland taste and the portion of meat and fries was too meager to leave the table satisfied. The rendang was also very bland and the fries very greasy. Won't come back here again.

Pannenkoeken was a complete disaster and tasted of nothing

Very bad food and unfriendly staff. The chicken stroganoff over the fries was frozen, and this was indicated. Received a new portion after 15 minutes, this time the Strofanoff was warm but the fries were cold. the staff thought it was 'bad luck' during the checkout. This restaurant is not child-friendly either, except for the pancakes and a page from Peppa Pig in the menu, putting a high chair at the table is too much effort. Please go to another restaurant to end a day in Giethoorn on a nice note.

Great restaurant and boat rental! First we rented a boat for 3 hours and enjoyed the Giethoor! After 3 hours boat ride we ate at the restaurant. Service was good and the foot was really good. Starter bread with herb butter and aioli was really good! The pinsa was the main start of the day, it was excellent! Free parking!

Burnt pancakes and a unkempt miniature golf course, not good

Great little pancake restaurant. Food is sumptuous and the price is quite reasonable! Just right after a boat trip through the city's canals.

Pannenkoekenrestaurant waar je op maandag (en dinsdag) geen Pannenkoeken kunt eten?? Bijzonder. We zijn maar weer weg gegaan.

The location is of course great, the service was friendly. We were there shortly after the kitchen closed, but were still able to order. We had two identical meals (fish & chips). Our assessment was very different, between well done and a waste of money.

Beautiful location on the canal through Giethoorn. Service was slow and forgot a lot even though it was not busy. Fine food for a snack, but nothing special.

I had a delicious meal here with a delicious carpaccio as a starter and a good burger as a main course. The food looked tasty and beautiful, and there was a good atmosphere in the restaurant. The service was good and the people working were friendly and very enthusiastic. Definitely recommended to visit if you are in Giethoorn!!

Yesterday in Giethoorn we wanted to eat a pancake before we went out on the water with a rented boat (also via De Witte Hoeve). We were the only customers inside. Yet it was extremely difficult to get over the fact that the three of us wanted to eat and share two pancakes. First someone tried to convince us to only order 3 children's pancakes, and when our pancakes were already made and the order could no longer be adjusted, with a lot of fussing and whining we received an extra set of cutlery. While we were eating, a lady came to complain about the fact that this is the Netherlands and that it was not actually allowed. To top it all off, we received completely wrong instructions at the boat about where we were on the map (the restaurant was supposed to be at marker 2, which is at least a 10-minute boat ride away), which left us completely disoriented and sailing the wrong route on the water. I would recommend everyone to just keep walking if you pass this restaurant.

When we entered there was no staff, but there was a bunch of girls eating. After calling several times, no response, I finally went into the kitchen to call for staff. Ordering went smoothly and friendly, but the pancake that was delivered was burnt and the filling was meager. Coffee and dessert were fine. It's a nice tent with potential, but the rest has to be right too....

Maar vier tafels bezet op een zaterdagavond, dat zou toch geen probleem moeten zijn. Toch was 1 van onze pannenkoeken aangebrand, lagen er maar drie magere stukjes spek op en was de bediening niet vooruit te branden. Al sloffend en niet gemotiveerd kwam ze aanlopen toen we vroegen om de rekening, kwam terug met het pinapparaat zonder het bedrag te noemen. Een fooi hebben we niet gegeven. Later kregen we pas de rekening en liep ze weer weg zonder gedag te zeggen. Om 18.45 uur was het restaurant leeg.

We had booked 1 hour of mini golf. On arrival it was a poor track at the parking lot. Part of it was broken and an obstacle was missing on the track so you could not use it. The original track was broken, a grass mat had been placed on each track, but it was too thick. When the ball hits the edge, it goes over it and out of the track. While sometimes you have to use the edges. Furthermore, the track was under trees, so there was a lot of rubbish on it, so you had to clean the track yourself before you could start. All in all very disappointed in a game of golf with wife and daughter. I pointed out what was wrong, but I don't think much is done about it. He advised me when I returned to Giethoorn to play golf at the adjacent restaurant, which had a nice course. We also took a boat tour, which was a successful day, but still well closed. Giethoorn is a beautiful place.

Eaten well . Was sufficient Good staff

The pancakes were good but the toppings were rather lean with ham and bacon. You can sit outside directly on the canal. Inside it is rather simply furnished. On the other side of the house there is a large terrace. You can only reach the restaurant on foot, but there are parking spaces nearby.

The quality of the dish ordered, fish and chips, was below par. Only the chips were decent, but the small piece of fatty fried fish should not bear the name. So you pay 18.50 for a plate of fries. The white wine ordered just covered the bottom of the glass, but the price was filled. The staff no longer comes by to ask if it tastes good and if you want something to drink.

With a group of 53 people we first had a boat tour, then we enjoyed a delicious lunch in the restaurant. Really super tasty sandwiches, richly filled and plenty of choice. Afterwards we went shooting on the water with several smaller boats. What an experience that is! Laughed very hard and sometimes almost ended up in the water. All in all, a wonderful day that was taken care of down to the last detail! Actually, we would not have a tour but would leave directly with the boats. Unfortunately, a few heavy rain showers threw a spanner in the works, but the employees of De Witte Hoeve / De Fanfare immediately thought along with us and arranged a covered tour boat as an alternative. Great service!!

Very nice, lovely walk through there...didn't use the restaurant...

Well, after the bad reviews we read here, we went because we wanted to eat pancakes in Giethoorn and the menu looked good. Yet, given the reviews, we did not dare to order the tapas pancakes even though we might be interested. We arrived an hour early, our fault of course, we checked in and indicated that we had made a reservation but were too early. The answer was just find a table if it is still available, because we were 6 people. But not another word and no guidance or further reception. We found a table and after waiting a while, it was just getting busy, the drinks were taken. When they were delivered, we were asked if we wanted the card. Yes we wanted that. No card came. After a while I asked another employee. The card came. People don't come back quickly and you always have to check if there is a waitress nearby. They walk around but don't really look at the guests. finally spoke to someone. The pancakes arrived quickly after ordering. And they were DELICIOUS. We all had something different and everyone was satisfied. So it is quite a nice location, dishes are good, but the service and real hospitality, they were not rude either, are lacking. In the catering industry, guests must maintain themselves and always be alert to what is happening on your terrace. That deserves attention. I would go back again despite all the reviews and our own experience.

Worst service I've ever experienced. Young, inexperienced girls. I come from the catering industry myself and am therefore not that difficult. I can well imagine that not everything always goes well, due to lack of experience or lack of time/staff. There were plenty of staff here and nothing to do. We had to ask for everything ourselves. When our table was still not cleaned from the previous guests after three table visits, we kindly asked for a cloth. The table was only half cleaned. It took forever to order and we had to repeat our order three times before she understood what we wanted, we had to ask again to make sure she had everything. The food came quickly, quality was okay, but nothing to write home about and certainly not for that price. When the food arrived, we still had no cutlery on the table. Around us, several deserted tables were still full of plates and glasses while the waitresses walked by empty-handed. We were not asked if the food tasted good, if everything was to our liking, or if we wanted something to drink. After my friend had half eaten her pancake, she asked if it was possible to just order a small portion of fries with mayonnaise. The waitress looked confused and said she had to ask. We never saw her again. At least fifteen minutes later, when we had actually finished everything (literally and figuratively), a plate of fries suddenly arrived that could have fed an entire family. We never had any information about whether this was even possible and in the end we probably wouldn't have ordered it again. Our plates were not removed. We had to contact a waitress again to order coffee and dessert. We ordered coffee as it was mentioned on the menu (via QR code). She had to ask (unlyingly) four times what exactly we wanted and then forgot half of it. We had to ask ourselves again whether she had ordered everything and had understood it correctly. We asked twice for three spoons with dessert. She understood, she said. The dessert came with one spoon and the plates of our food were still on the table. The cutlery was still there, the table was full of empty glasses. Icing sugar and syrup still on the table, which attracted a lot of wasps. Only when the dessert was delivered were these plates removed, but not the syrup, sugar and mayo containers. We again had to ask for extra spoons ourselves and were not given any napkins? When the dessert wasn't even finished, another waitress suddenly asked if we wanted to pay or if she could bring us a receipt. I believe this is the only thing we should normally ask for ourselves? We then said that we wanted to pay; what else were we supposed to do here? The receipt was thrown on the table in the icing sugar and syrup without asking whether everything was satisfactory, without a bill plate, without anything. We went inside ourselves where we were not approached by an employee but had to ask ourselves if we could pay, while two girls refilled syrup bottles together and there was no response to the kitchen bell, let alone us. We didn't tip, which we normally do generously and we're really not the most difficult. We are easily satisfied, but this was downright terrible. I have never been served so poorly. We weren't told goodbye as we walked away until we said goodbye ourselves. We were friendly and polite and didn't complain. We are most angry at the fact that there was no manager to train and manage these girls. They clearly have no experience and guidance in this profession and therefore (probably unintentionally) do their job terribly poorly! Is this how you want to teach young girls this wonderful profession? Tragic... This is why fewer and fewer people want and/or continue to work in the catering industry!

Good place for delicious lunch.

Ein nettes Lokal an der Gracht. Service war sehr nett, wir waren mit einer Gruppe da. Aus diesem Grund gab es für uns "nur" verschieden Pfannekuchen.... die empfand ich nicht als kulinarische Höchstleistung 🤔🥴

Tof restaurantje! Vandaag een hele belevenis gehad.. We hebben amper kunnen eten, omdat we niet wisten dat er in de avond totaal geen bussen reden. Twee lieve dames van personeel kwamen met een voorstel om met auto af te zetten bij de bushalte (laatste bus gehaald). We hebben ook nog eens ons geld terug gekregen van wat we hadden besteld. Wat waren de dames lieff! Vanuit hier willen wij jullie nogmaals bedanken! Ps; wij zijn weer veilig thuis;)🥰

Agradable lugar familiar. Buen servicio. Comida rica y sabrosa. Terraza y zona interior. Al lado de un canal, ves barcas pasar. Alquilan botes y canoas.

Met ons vieren gaan lunchen op het terras, leuke plek aan het water. Bij het bestellen werd gemeld dat er geen aardbeien zijn, dus twee van ons een ander gerecht, namelijk American pancakes met Oreo, banaan, slagroom en maple syrup, gekozen. Na enige tijd werden de twee andere gerechten gebracht waarbij werd gemeld dat de bananen op zijn… Na zo’n 10 minuten werden de American pancakes gebracht, dus zonder banaan maar ook zonder slagroom. Gevraagd naar de slagroom werd er enigszins nukkig gereageerd en na zo’n 5 minuten werden twee schoteltjes met slagroom uit een spuitbus gebracht. Snel dooreten dus omdat het al snel natte kledder werd. Omdat ik er wel een beetje klaar mee was bij het afrekenen om het bonnetje gevraagd, ook dit werd kennelijk niet gewaardeerd maar na enige tijd kregen we deze toch. Helaas geen aanrader dus. Leuke locatie maar het personeel lijkt weinig gemotiveerd om nog een beetje hun best te doen.

We waren daar ivm het fanfaren spektakel, wDus dan zit je al anders met de tafels en het eten,want we hadden een 3 gangen menu Maar ondanks dat zag het er super gezellig uit erg sfeer vol, leuk personeel Het eten was heerlijk,

Wat een ongezellige bende. Pannekoeken smaakten wel maar de sfeer en bediening onder de maat. Vooraf 1 glas drinken en toen de pannenkoeken geserveerd werden waren de glazen al leeg en voor we iets konden zeggen was de bediening verdwenen. Toch iets te drinken gevraagd en dat kwam nadat eij de pannenkoek ophadden. En dat met 3 bezette tafeltjes. Voor ons 1x maar nooit weer

Heerlijk even koffie gedronken en een hele lekkere pannenkoek gegeten

Reserveren heeft geen zin, wordt niet naar gekeken. We hadden gereserveerd voor een redelijk grote groep, dus moest er eerst flink met tafels geschoven worden. Tafels zijn vies, menukaart flodderig. Bediening is wel vriendelijk. Pannenkoeken zijn prima. Het andere eten is echt onder de maat. Het is meer een snackbar-terras voor toeristische passanten. Geen aanrader.

Waren da mit einem Reisebus. Erst Grachtenfahrt und dann zum Pfannkuchen Essen,pikant und herzhaft.

We went in expecting tourist quality but it was a couple of notches above. My mushroom pancake came with a nicely seasoned sauce as well as some herbed butter to add a nice tang. I had a decent Trappist blonde beer, very satisfying after a day biking and boating. The pulled pork pancake was equally satisfying for the other one at our table. We were pleasantly surprised. Don't be put off by ordering from the app, it didn't reflect on the quality of the food.

Nach einem Radausflug sind wir hier eingekehrt. Der Zugang von der Straße aus machte den Eindruck, dass es doch nicht offen ist, ( auf den ersten Blick ungepflegter Eindruck) aber die Terrasse hinten an der Gracht ist dann sehr nett. Innen schönes Ambiente, außer dem Baulüfter, der am Kücheneingang stand. Wir fanden einen Tisch für uns, die Chefin persönlich nahm unsere Bestellung auf, leider war um 15 Uhr schon viel ausverkauft und auf Grund einer Baustelle in der Küche war bei den Pfannkuchen mit mehr Wartezeit zu rechnen. Es gab noch einen Apfelkuchen, drei Stück Nussschaum, das war's. Service war so halbwegs gut, die Kellnerin brachte dann für einen Latte macchiato zuerst ein Glas aufgeschäumte Milch und 5 Minuten später den dazugehörigen Kaffee, merkwürdig. Die Getränke kleckerten so nach und nach ein. Aussicht war sehr schön.

Fijne plek, vriendelijk personeel!! Weinig andere gasten

Afgelopen zomer bootje gehuurd, boogschieten gedaan en gegeten. Wat een slechte ervaring. Bij het huren van de boot moesten we een half uur wachten, waarbij erg slecht werd gecommuniceerd. Daarna boogschieten: man erg vriendelijk, maar hutje is eigenlijk te klein voor mensen boven de 180 cm. Pannenkoekentapas: drama. Na 75 minuten één pannenkoeken gekregen, die we met z'n vijven moesten delen. Hoofdserveerster had alleen maar smoesjes. Na overleg met vriendelijk meisje uiteindelijk nog wel een aantal pannenkoeken gehad (bedankt daarvoor!). Één ster voor de activiteiten en de hoofdserveerster, drie sterren voor de boogschietman en het vriendelijke meisje. Conclusie: ik zou ergens anders naartoe gaan.

Prima plaats voor een groep! Lekker pannenkoeken. Lekker menu!!! Aanrader is de huisgemaakte ginger ale! Snel service! Mooi verlichting in de voortuin. Sfeervolle restaurant!

Pfannkuchen sind sehr sparsam belegt. Außerdem war es ziemlich kalt im Lokal.

Sehr unfreundlich und schauen die leute wirklich von oben aus an.Die Pfannkuchen waren zur hälfte was abgebrannt.Die Burger gingen einigermaßen,aber nochmal würde ich da nicht essen gehen

Eenvoudige maar ook bijzondere pannenkoeken gegeten. Vriendelijke bediening en voor de kinderen nog een verrassing na.

Wir haben dies Restaurant wegen der Pfannkuchen extra ausgesucht und wurden auf keinen Fall enttäuscht. Leckere Pfannkuchen spiegelten die Freundlichkeit der Wirtin wieder. Super, jederzeit gerne wieder.
