Wat een geweldige plek in Giethoorn. Hier wordt met passie gekookt... Van voorgerecht tot dessert, heerlijk en verrassend. Ook chapeau voor de vriendelijke bediening...

Gewoon even uit huis een hapje eten, maar wat goed. Een goed glas chardonnay/viognier en parelhoen met asperges in soep……….waanzinnig goed!

Hier geen toeristen eten. Chef Davy maakt er echt werk van. Is de tweede keer dit jaar dat we hier gegeten hebben. En het was weer topklasse. Ook het bedienend personeel is vriendelijk en vakkundig. Ga zo door Davy en Gerjanne!

Einfach nur wow! Super mega leckeres Essen, das wirklich begeistert – jedes Gericht ein Volltreffer. Dazu eine unglaublich nette und freundliche Bedienung, bei der man sich sofort wohlfühlt. Die Atmosphäre ist einfach mega – total einladend und gemütlich. Absolute Empfehlung!

I feel I need to speak up in defence of this place. In December new owners took over. A young couple, very pleasant, organised and hard working. Since December I've had 3 lunches and 2 dinners there and every time the food was excellent, with even the mayonaise home-made. The tourist season is starting up in Giethoorn, recently they've been busy, and even then the place runs like clockwork. I'd say: give it a try and you won’t be disappointed.

Afgelopen zondag met vrienden bij ‘t Achterhuus gegeten. Het was echt voortreffelijk. Uitstekende keuken en zeer vriendelijke bediening. Alles met zorg bereid en een heerlijke smaak. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

Na de wissel voor het eerst gegeten op een doordeweekse donderdagavond een menu; voortreffelijk en dat is niks te veel gezegd. Een zegen voor Gierhoorn

Allereerst is het restaurant heel sfeervol ingericht, mooie gedimde verlichting. De bediening is jong en erg vriendelijk en gastvrij. Ze snappen het echt zeg maar. Het eten was heerlijk, alles zag er heerlijk uit en smaakte ook zo. Ik had zelf de Aardpeer met ravioli en eekhoorntjesbrood en dit was echt zalig. Niets meer aan veranderen, ga zo door.

The food is delicious and the service is also very good. The elder wanted to drink hot soup after blowing the cold wind, and there happened to be hot soup to warm him up!

Vriendelijke bediening. Kleine menukaart maar wel overheerlijk gegeten. Prijzen van de frisdrank zijn aan de hoge kant vergeleken met het eten/andere dranken. Voor ons absoluut een positieve ervaring!

I visited this place on a Sunday with my husband, and parents in law. We entered the place and for a baby high chair and were asked to get it from the toilet on our own. Also, given our child is under two we still feed her home cooked meals. After ordering our food, I was feeding my child food and was asked not to. I had to stress the fact that it’s for a child and not for adults for them to allow. In a few minutes, another child with a baby came and sat next to us. Now the same service people come and ask if they need a high chair and bring it from the toilet for them. Also, they even heated up their child’s food and let the child be served good without asking or saying anything. Now that’s a different level of racism! I will definitely not recommend this place. Point is we did not eat for free so why treat people differently because of their skin colour. Ridiculous!

The food was really beautifully prepared and the atmosphere is very cozy. The service is very nice and attentive. Unfortunately the food was just okay. Soup, salad and sauces were quite bland. Beef tenderloin was tender and well fried. But overall, unfortunately everything is just okay. It was simply too expensive for that.

Dit restaurant is fantastisch, de sfeer, de bediening, maar met name de keuken is een tien met een griffel ! Voor ons het beste van Giethoorn.

The mains were okay, but the desserts were very disappointing. They call it tiramisu but it’s nothing like tiramisu. I asked for it to be replaced for a chocolate but the waitress advise me that I’d have to buy another pudding. My consequently advised her I will be writing a review about this terrible service. The owner then came to the table and was very articulate at swearing at me in English. I can honestly say, this is the worst restaurant I’ve ever attended.

Food is ok. I had high hopes for better service, but instead, I was met with a cold and unfriendly waitress who acted as if she was doing me a favor by serving my meal. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place.

Bijzonder lekker gegeten in een gezellige ambiance. Zeer vriendelijke en attente bediening. Enig minpuntje was dat de Irish coffee met Schotse wiskey was gemaakt maar we kregen de toezegging dat bij ons volgende bezoek Ierse wiskey gebruikt zal worden. Gelet op de kwaliteit en de prijs van het eten komen we dat graag nog eens checken.

Very tasty snack. Friendly staff who even helped to secure the rented boat. Also nice place to see all the Chinese people clashing. 😀 Schadenfreude Price-quality ratio is good.

This is the first restaurant upon the tour bus dropping us off. Ordering is via QR code or server. The digital menu gave us an idea on how to customize each order which was great. We had the salad and the grilled cheese and ham sandwich. The salad was really good. It had so many ingredients to make a salad more interesting than a regular boring salad. I was delighted. It was a beautiful salad in presentation and flavour. It came with 2 pcs of warm bread. The portion size was big, good enough for 2. The lemonade was also good and refreshing, perfect for a warm day. We were seated at the terrace, great view. Service was also good.

Really delicious food, worth not 5 but 6 points, all dishes were great!! Service very attentive! Had a wonderful evening there in July.

We had dinner at the Achterhuus restaurant the same evening we arrived in Giethoorn. The restaurant is in fact located a very short distance from the wonderful house where we stayed for three nights. The kindness of the staff and tasty food, together with the excellent location, allowed us to fully appreciate our arrival in Giethoorn.

Good restaurant in Giethoorn, the food is good but the service a little long

To the friendly question whether we could have a drink on the terrace, we received the surprising answer from a blonde woman with large black glasses: 'No, that is not allowed.' The tone was as if we had just asked this question had committed a serious crime. Not a word about the reason for the impossibility of having a drink on an almost empty terrace. Thank you for this perfect illustration of how Dutch directness borders on rudeness and sometimes goes far beyond it. We just happened to be talking about it. Fortunately for your revenue model, hardly anyone ever returns to Giethoorn, but for your own health and happiness I would recommend a different attitude. Good luck with it!

After a long day first with the boat and then on foot through Giethoorn Village, we decided to take the recommendation of one of the friendly villagers and went to Restaurant’t Achterhuus. The food was very delicious, the Vegetarian burger was one of the best we ever had, the mussels were very tasty and good seasoned and the price was fair. The only thing that was just ok (and not extraordinary like everything else) was the Limonade but I must admit I have very high standards in this regard. Overall a very pleasant experience, amazing food and friendly staff.

Worst service took an hour and a half to bring a burger (some people that came 30min later than us got their food earlier than us for some reason), bad food, and not nice in general: after we paid they brought ketchup and said it was 75cts extra hahaha what the hell may as well laugh at this point of terrible service hahaha

A visit is only tolerated if you order a main menu. Ordering drinks and snacks is not permitted. We left again.

I had a really bad experience! Before we even sat down to order, my mom needed to use the bathroom. She doesn't speak English, so she couldn't understand what the owner was saying. When I tried to help, the owner was really rude and told us to sit somewhere else. She even put the restaurant sign on my foot while I was talking to her! Clearly one of those people that expects everyone to speak English perfectly. This kind of treatment felt so disrespectful and discriminatory. We were excited to try this place, but it was such a letdown. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially if you or your family don't speak English fluently.

I'll just summarize it in just one word... Incredibly RUDE... wow!! and sorry I couldn't just help put that adjective before that one word!

Despite a somewhat slow service even though we were outside the busiest hours, we liked this establishment located on the water's edge with a view of the many boats passing by. The cuisine is quite decent but we especially appreciated the place and the village of Giethoorn.

Awful. Waited more than an hour for a food, and when it did finally arrive the meat was tough, undercooked and basically inedible. Even so, we were required to pay. The owner was very rude and even complained while we were leaving that one of us had ordered only an appetizer and not a full meal. Very sarcastically told us to find a cafeteria next time. An awful experience.

I recently visited this Restaurant and had a very disappointing experience regarding their handling of food allergies. Despite informing the staff about my seafood allergy, my first burger contained shrimp, and the second burger had onion rings cooked with fish. This cross-contamination is extremely dangerous for someone with my allergy. To make matters worse, the staff did not apologize or acknowledge the mistake, and I was still charged full price for both meals. This lack of awareness and care for customers with allergies is unacceptable. I hope they take this feedback seriously and improve their practices to ensure the safety and satisfaction of all their customers.

The hotel is very close to the entrance of the scenic spot, and there is a large parking lot behind it, where you can park for free. The burger tastes good, but the waiter is indifferent and has a stinky face

Nice location on the water with friendly service!

What a lovey location for lunch. You can watch all the action on the canals as you eat your delicious food. I had pulled pork with frites and washed it down with a blonde beer that was delightful. Highly recommended

Horrible experience, I ordered chicken burger from a picture in google map photo, waited for long time and got beef burger instead then waited for another longer time. I ordered sauces was not provided but was in the bill. I don’t recommend it and will not come agin. This restaurant and how the staff dealt with this situation changed my perception on Giethoorn and ruined my visit.

In de middag op het terras een drankje gedronken. Leuke sfeer en aardige en vlotte bediening. Direct gereserveerd voor de avond. Binnen gegeten. Goede sfeer en heerlijk gegeten. We zijn hier nog een week en komen er zeker nog eens terug.

Location molto bella e curata, cibo superlativo e ottima accoglienza. Abbiamo cenato qualche giorno fa e abbiamo potuto gustare una zuppa di scampi e gamberi eccezionale con un sapore di pesce delicato. A seguire lucioperca spettacolare con contorno di patate e carote. Il tutto seduti ad un tavolo vicino la finestra dalla quale si può ammirare uno dei canali della splendida Gieethorn. CONSIGLIATISSIMO!

We rented a boat, unfortunately the yellow route was sold to us as a 1 hour route but it was a 2 hour route so it was twice as expensive 😞

A very ordinary restaurant, the food is normal, the service is delayed, and the restaurant is located in a good location on the river.

We tried to get a table but apparently half of the tables had the ‘reserved’ sign. We saw one with our the sign and when the waiter saw us heading by for the table she misteriously remembered that it was also reserved

Unfortunately, the food that you can order from 5 p.m. wasn't really my thing But my husband thought it was very tasty 🫠

We were there on a sunday evening. We had the mix fish platter (I still don't recommend spreading sauce hollandaise on fish) an the irish Ribeye (wanted medium got raw) with not the freshest fries. Nice ambiente and friendly service. I get the feeling that giethoorn isn't quite ready for fine cuisine, and the restaurant is taking its measurements to adapt. I am more about the food than the surroundings. Still had a lovely evening with Dutch charme.

Large parking space and also space for campers. Nice restaurant for a beer and snacks. Many places were reserved, so if you want to have dinner there, I think it would be useful to make a reservation.

On a (late) search for lunch in Giethoorn we came across (luckily or by chance) the nice owners of 't Achterhuus. Nice atmosphere, good service and the menu via QR on your phone (not for everyone, as a group that walked away showed). Unfortunately no photos of the delicious soups (mustard, peas and shrimp) soup and the truffle fries, sweet potato fries, fries rendang and fries with steam bun pork belly and rendang, but compliments on the quality👌. Delicious bock beer on tap, accompanied by good red wine. We will definitely come back next time we are in the area!

Het is altijd genieten om hier uit eten te gaan. Een relatief klein restaurant in Giethoorn met een knusse dinerruimte. Een warme en gezellige sfeer hangt er en personeel is altijd vriendelijk en attent. Eigen voorkeur is om altijd buiten de zomer in Giethoorn te eten en dat brengt gelijk mooie en lekkere najaarsgerechten met zich mee. Personeel is attent, want het speciale verzoek om de rundertartaar extra fijn te snijden was geen issue. Dank voor de mooie avond 👍🏻

De lekkerste mosselen die ik afgelopen zomer heb gegeten (ik heb ze afgelopen maanden bij 10 andere restaurants gegeten). Complimenten ook voor de service en de mooie plek aan het water!

אוכל מעולה ומקום מהמם לשבת בו ולהשקיף על התעלות. גם מנת הנאגטס מעולה וגם המנות בורגר והפילה דג. הצ’יפס הום מייד . תהנו

Voor ons onbekend maar eenmaal binnen en gegeten was het genieten met de hoofdletter G. Vriendelijk en professioneel personeel met kennis van zaken . Daarbij een prachtige -niet te grote- entourage ......

Reeds enkele zaken geprobeerd in Giethoorn, maar dit is echt wel bovenal de beste!! Het eten is perfect op smaak en ideaal van portie! De tiramisu is ook een echte aanrader! Alsook de ribroast en de hele gamba's! Vandaag de tweede keer terug gekomen. Ik kreeg zelfs steeds de optie om een voorgerecht als hoofdgerecht te nemen, aangezien ik een maagoperatie heb gehad! Echt topservice! Zeer vriendelijke eigenares, en ook vriendelijk personeel! Echt de place to be!
