It's a bit of a shame that they don't come and take your order.

We had a lovely time on the terrace and enjoyed a delicious meal. We were served by Erwin, who truly knows what service is all about. Everything was excellent, definitely worth a visit.

Bad service! Very stingy, when I asked for tissues he just brought one so I asked him again nicely to bring me more and he came back with one tissue again! Also when we asked for ketchup they didn’t bring it so I had to go inside to ask them again, the old man who I do believe is the owner is the most stingiest person I have ever seen, also the prices are very high not value for the money! I don’t recommend it for anyone at all! I do not recommend visiting, they humiliate you for everything you ask for and they are terribly stingy and the owner of the restaurant can’t stand us, every time we ask for a napkin or ketchup they make fun of us and on top of that the prices are expensive

Nice location and starting point for cycling

This restaurant was a disappointment! The place is beautiful, on the banks of one of the city's canals. The beautiful view enchanted us as soon as we passed by, but it's a shame the service is terrible. Food - generous portions, ok price, and somewhat tasty. The sauces are processed, which somewhat spoils the experience. We ordered a Schnitzel with mushroom sauce and a Flammkuchen, which was quite tasty. Service: We were served by a man who shouldn't work in customer service. He was extremely rude, grumpy, and impolite. The restaurant seats a lot, but there were only about 7 tables occupied, and the man kept telling everyone he was very busy. The food took over 40 minutes to arrive, amazing! Honestly, you should improve your service a lot, because your overall rating on Google is already low, and part of that is due to the poor service.

A very welcoming venue in a beautiful location along the canal in Giethoorn. Relaxed atmosphere and delicious food.

It's not so much the Vonder itself, but mainly the location: Giethoorn. And what a beautiful village, mind you, just one big tourist trap. A stroopwafel: €5. A hot chocolate with whipped cream: €9. And so on. A few... oh yeah... renting a boat: 3 hours for €120. That's just not feasible anymore. I can think of better excursions for less money.

5 mini pieces of kibbeling for almost €6. I'll definitely skip this place in the future. The order went wrong again. Things never go right here.

The staff was friendly and attentive. A lovely spot by the water. The snietzel at 't Vonder wasn't great. A bit bland. I suspect it was a plain snietzel from a deep fryer with a few vegetables on top. No sauce. Fries with mayonnaise, though.

You could easily spend a week here. Fantastic.

We visited Giethoorn on a slightly rainy Sunday in early July. It was quite quiet and empty. We wandered around in a relaxed atmosphere. We had snacks at this place. The tacos and toast were delicious. Because we arrived during a quiet time, the place was empty. It's best to make a reservation in advance for busier times.

They have the best apple pie you'll ever try. And espresso.

-Nice Location. -Food came very late. -Asked for vegetarian meal and it came with Ham. -Salads came after finishing half of the main courses. -Burger bun came VERY HARD like a rock. -No napkins on the table.

We were at this restaurant with friends and, without asking first, pushed the tables together so we could sit together. In retrospect, we should have asked, of course. Unfortunately, the waiter pointed this out to us very rudely. A friendly reminder would have been perfectly sufficient. The way we were treated made us feel very unwelcome. For this reason, we would not visit the restaurant again. That's a real shame. The visit could have been much more pleasant with more courtesy on both sides.

We had a great time here on a beautiful terrace. Nice wine. Only a couple of Germans came and just started moving the tables and chairs. Very rude. We were annoyed by it. Fortunately, the friendly waiter also thought something of it. And spoke to them about it. We will definitely come back for the flamkuchen.

The snack bar on the right is hopeless. On Friday evening, a portion of kibbeling is 6 pieces. Today, Wednesday during lunch, a portion of kibbeling consists of 4 pieces. Without sauce, because that is gone. Do I want another sauce? Yes, garlic? We don't have that either. The milkshakes are gone too. Oh well. Shrinkflation at its best!

A really nice and cozy café right on the canal – highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a drink and unwind in a relaxed atmosphere. We spent several hours there and felt completely at home. We particularly liked the beer selection: Among other things, we tried a blond beer and two other Dutch beers. All were delicious – fresh, well-chilled, and of high quality. If you like beer, you're sure to find something you like here. The waiter was a real highlight: not only polite and attentive, but also warm and personable. It almost felt like sitting with friends. He not only served us warmly, but also took the time to give us tips about the city and the surrounding area. You rarely experience such a personal and honest approach in the hospitality industry. The café is beautifully located right on the water, with a stunning view of the canal and passing boats. The atmosphere is relaxed yet lively – perfect for a long afternoon of good conversation or simply enjoying the surroundings. Conclusion: A wonderful place where you not only get good beer, but also feel welcome. Highly recommended!

Located between the Dorpsgracht and Binnenpad, the core attractions of Giethoorn, it is one of the restaurants in Giethoorn with "beautiful lighting and good atmosphere". 't Vonder personally thinks that both the inside and outside are beautiful, and the internal environment is textured. I especially like the glass house area on one side, which can enjoy beautiful lighting and greenery. The outdoor seats outside may be even more pleasant, with a view of the classic river and bridge views of Dorpsgracht. Compared with some restaurants in Giethoorn, 't Vonder is open earlier. Although the kitchen does not open until 11 AM, the store serves coffee as soon as it opens. It is very suitable for enjoying coffee, scenery, and the rare quiet atmosphere of Giethoorn in the morning.

I normally don't go to Cafe -restaurant style place for having a meal. I was not expecting nothing but a quick bite. But I'm gladly surprised. Place very very clean, quiet and nice atmosphere, service super kind and friendly, and all the sandwiches that we've tried, well made, simple but tasty and with fresh ingredients. Nice !!

A WONDERFUL PLACE, EXCELLENT FOOD AND A BREATHTAKING VIEW

On a Saturday evening, two people had a 3-course meal here without a reservation. Against all expectations (and Google's predictions), there was plenty of room. It turned out to be the last weekend of the season. This, understandably, meant that not all dishes on the menu were in stock. The food was okay. The service was excellent. The atmosphere and decoration were good and the placemats were absolutely great.

I recently had dinner at this restaurant, and while the food was delicious and they offered great gluten-free options, I was disappointed with the overall experience. The service was extremely slow, which made the meal less enjoyable. Additionally, the prices were quite high compared to the usual standards in the Netherlands. I hope they can improve the service to match the quality of the food.

Ate with 4 people, one of whom had a chicken stew. The chicken was missing from the stew and was served last. The other 3 table guests had already finished their plates. Very unfortunate.

Tables on the terrace are very close together and there was a lot of smoking, the stench lingers under the parasols. Food was good. Tip: the terrace is large enough for a large smoke-free zone and do not place smokers under a parasol.

The menu was not really special and quite pricey for the simple menus on it. Partner had Chicken stew - “chicken pieces in red wine sauce with mushrooms and onions and carrot”. No chicken pieces or mushrooms seen, it seemed pureed. Plus it was really very little. For me as a vegetarian there was only one dish, the red lentil curry, “mild creamy garam masala with vegetables and lime. This too came on a small plate, no lime in sight and the worst part for me was that it was lukewarm. Conclusion is: both dishes not that tasty and very little. But yes, this restaurant is from the same owner as Smits Paviljoen, which we also did not have a good experience with. We are going to avoid these restaurants during our holiday here.

De kaart was niet echt bijzonder en redelijk prijzig voor de eenvoudige menu’s die er op stonden. Partner had Kip stoofpotje - “kipstukken in rode wijnsaus met champignons en uien en wortel”. Geen kipstukken en champignons gezien, het leek gepureerd. Plus het was echt heel weinig. Voor mij als vegetariër was er slechts een gerecht, de rode linzencurry, “milde romige garam massala met groenten en limoen. Ook dit kwam op een klein bord, geen limoen te zien en het ergste vond ik dat het lauw was. Conclusie is: beide gerechten niet zo lekker en erg weinig. Maarja, dit restaurant is van dezelfde eigenaar als Smits Paviljoen waar we ook geen goede ervaring mee hadden. We gaan deze restaurants mijden in onze vakantie hier.

Very disappointed of the waitress's dishonesty. I went for lunch yesterday, while getting the check, I decided to pay in cash. One of the waitresses, the black hair one, was there for me. When I looking for 20 cent after I gave her 50Euro, she said not gonna be there in my coins wallet.So I pick up a 20 Euro paper money asking her is that right?she said yes and received the money.So I paid 70 Euro for in fact 50.20Euro bill.I know it's my bad not figuring out the Euro money, but that doesn't mean you should trick people. Because I didn't understand the various Euro coins and banknotes, I was tricked into overpaying by one of the waitresses when I was dining in this restaurant yesterday. The total consumption was 50 euros and 20 cents. I paid 50 euros in cash first. When I was looking for the 20 cents in my coin bag, the waitress said it was not in it, so I found a 20 euro note and asked her if it was this one, and she immediately accepted it. . That is, I paid 70 euros for a bill of 50 euros and 20 cents. Please be careful when paying with cash. (The food was okay.)

We had a nice meal there and had a nice time. Actually not the intention, but that is because of the super tourism. What made it less so were the predominant children present with accompanying parents who did not respond. Proud of our kids 💪🏻🥰

Didn’t get chance to experience the food. After being seated, waited 25 minutes watching staff walk past us and didn’t even get offered a drink so we left. Had a great meal and experience with very lovely staff at Ristorante Fratelli instead. Good service makes such a difference.

Giethoorn is already a magnificent place that should definitely be seen. After the boat tour, we stopped by to rest and drink coffee. The Americano was a little small but very tasty. I advise.

We ate at the chip shop next door. Fries and kibbeling were delicious. The price was a bit more expensive but the service was very friendly.

To recommend. You have to stop there on your bike tour or on foot in the village. Super nice service 👍 great service and no long waiting times, moderate prices. Great vantage point for looking at boats, surroundings and tourism.

Nachdem wir zuvor bei drei Locations entweder abgewiesen wurden oder sehr merkwürdige Erfahrungenen gemacht haben, sind wir durch einen glücklichen Zufall hier gelandet. Es war einfach wunderbar, vielen lieben Dank! Wir hatten ein herrliches Käsefondue und im Anschluss den Lavacake. Obwohl die Küche eigentlich schon zu war hat der Koch (und auch nicht nur für uns sondern auch andere Gäste die was zu essen gesucht haben) eine Ausnahme gemacht und die Küche länger offen gelassen. Wir kommen definitiv wieder, wenn wir in der Gegend sind.

I was feeling a bit being pushed to order immediately. They didn’t put chicken on my pasta even it was mentioned in the menu. When I said it to the waitress, they said you had to say it explicitly. I prefer a better behaviour.

The food was delicious. However, the pene pesto didn't have any chicken although it was a part of the food based on the menu. It went even in a worse direction when we shared the problem with the waitress. Was not a good experience.

They gave us an expired mayonnaise and said that it was okay if it was a bit overdated but the date said that bit expired on 4 september 2023.

The dining place has a great atmosphere and the food is surprisingly good. The beer is Mapup, but the soda rose flavor is surprisingly delicious.

RACIST RESTAURANT that intentionally chose not to take orders from our group. We sat there for more than half an hour and noticed they were only taking orders from white people!! Decent food but inedequate service. It took an hour for us to be served. Their explanation was that they were waiting for their chef to arrive before they could finish our order. We arrived at this restaurant by chance, it was 2.15pm, we were hoping to find a little more speed in the service, made up of only one person! In addition to being slow, he misunderstood the order. Lovely staff and great place to sit and enjoy the charm that Giethoorn has to offer. Food was good but a little overpriced at €23 for a burger and chips. The bowl of chips was just as small as the bowl of ketchup!

Positive Überraschung: Wo kommen die vielen schlechten Bewertungen her? Wir waren zu dritt dort zum Abendessen und alle total begeistert. Alle waren super nett und auf zack, das Essen war wirklich sehr gut und das Ambiente echt schön. Nichts zu beanstanden!
