I had to come back and edit my review after what happened today. I have a sesame allergy. Everywhere I go, literally every McDonald’s I’ve been to across three continents, I simply tell them and ask for the smaller buns instead. I always clarify that I’m not worried about residue; I just need the regular bun swapped. Every single location has helped me… except this one. A kind employee initially tried to assist and even checked with another staff member who looked like he was in charge of preparing the orders. He basically shrugged and said, “Yeah, I’m not going to do that. Not possible.” I asked again and explained that this is something McDonald’s has done for me my whole life. His response? “We can’t do that because we’re busy today.” They were absolutely not busy. I’ve been to this branch many times since I have classes in Leiden, and I’ve seen it at its peak: all seats taken, staff running out of table number stands, the works. Today, two-thirds of the seats were empty. Yet he still lied to my face and then suggested I order a burger without bread and a separate hamburger so I could assemble it myself at my table! I thanked them anyway and went to Le Smash, where I got a better burger and infinitely better service, they even asked me about my opinion on the burger. Honestly, I know the bar at McDonald’s isn’t exactly sky-high, but I genuinely do like them. This time, though, I couldn’t even get their most iconic, most accessible burger—the Big Mac—because staff refused to help accommodate a very simple allergy request.

Be sure to check your order carefully in its packaging, as the receipt may show the name of the item, but the actual item itself isn't. The staff doesn't seem very attentive. The food is like everywhere else at McDonald's—edible, but nothing spectacular.

Disgusting service, they only put one bun in the burger, without a cutlet, without anything, and said that we didn’t do this, get out of here, I don’t recommend this Mac!

Just when so many people want to eat less meat, they're taking the McPlant off the menu...what a blunder! I don't need that disgusting veggie chicken. No more Macs for me.

Just typical McDonald's, what do expect?

After ordering, I had to wait 17 minutes for my order. Then I got an ice cream cone with the ice cream completely melted around the cone. It also didn't meet the 2.5-scoop requirement. When I went back for another cone, the manager glared at me and sighed when I asked for another. Then she went the extra mile to give me even less ice cream (I didn't know it was even possible). Again, this small amount of ice cream was more on the side of the cone than on it. I also ordered a quarter pounder, which arrived dry and cold. The onions weren't on the burger either. Then I reluctantly had to go back to the counter. The manager sighed grimly when she saw me walking back. For a valid reason, I asked for a different burger, and thankfully, I got one. This burger was still warm, though. It's a shame, though, that both of the things I ordered were wrong.

Damn tasty for 2 euros you can drive to Zimbabwe in Africa but I chose for the Bic Mac and I let Zimbabwe get the tievus

McTasty was tasteless, the worst I’ve ever tried. The McSundae barely had any chocolate, so it was tasteless as well. They even charge for the toilet, even if you ordered something. Also, we had to wait a long time even though the restaurant was almost empty.

You can use the restroom here for one euro per person, which is handy if you're in the city. It's free if you've purchased something.

I ordered McDonald's for four people today, and half the order was missing. Then the manager came over and confirmed it was wrong, but I only got one Big Mac out of three burgers, fries, and the accompanying fries. "I was reimbursed," so I wanted to buy the test I was missing (paying double). The manager started a whole argument, but he didn't reimburse me. I couldn't order anything extra, but I did get a fine from the police. I go to McDonald's in Leiden five times a week, never again from today!

McDonald's – classic, tried-and-true fast food. Fast service, guaranteed freshness, and reasonable prices. You can find it in every major city or district. The best part is that you can use the restrooms for free, even if you're not a customer. They're usually located on the first floor, but here they're on the ground floor.

What a depressing hole to get food at. Remember when McDonald's had colour, was at least decently looking. Well not anymore! I hope you like fake woodgrain and the architecture style Urban Brutalism. Because they have PLENTY! It is already depressing to spend 12 Eur on mediocre food because nothing else is open, but oh boy! Being in a place with that current remodel doesn't feel welcoming what-so-ever.

Restrooms are paid (1 euro) for customers, too. Otherwise, it's standard McDonald's; don't expect a lot of toppings on your burger. And they got my order wrong. It was a burger menu, but they were the fries, and they'd made apple slices out of apple juice.

A McDonald's just the way we're used to. Beautifully situated in a quiet area just outside the busy shopping district.

You will not find better food in Nederland

It's a disgrace that a customer has to pay to use the toilet.

Nice place for a McDonald's, always busy, even on weekday evenings. Good food. Nice atmosphere. Spacious layout. I wouldn't go here with children.

I live alone, I work 12 hours a day, and when I get home, I can't cook because I'm tired. I wanted to order a hamburger online, and it hasn't arrived for hours. What you're doing is inhumane.

Poor service, unfriendly staff, and only English spoken. Even though you ordered a substantial amount of food, you still have to pay for the restroom. Conclusion: poor service and definitely not worth repeating.

this mcdonald’s has the kindest workers among many other ones i’ve been to! the girl with red cheeks was really kind and let me use the restroom even when i accidentally threw my check with the code to the trash can 🥲 other workers are also really kind and bring food for you!! really clean and a lot of space, i remained happy and full ! :)

Its a macdonald so you know wat to expect

Nice McDonald's location: the food is fine (it's a shame we've been trading plastic straws for paper ones for quite some time now. McDonald's can't do much about it, but it's still inconvenient. What they could do something about is shrinkflation: the burgers seem to be getting smaller and smaller). The staff was friendly and very helpful, tables were cleaned immediately, and food was delivered quickly after ordering. The location is nicely decorated. It has a pleasant atmosphere and a safe feel, with a view of the square's fountains.

A bathroom visit costs one euro. Just go to that other burger place four doors down. They know how to make a good burger. If you're going to eat unhealthy, at least make sure it's tasty.

Never had a McDonald's experience like this before. I've waited 30 minutes for one milkshake, and that's not just the first time, it's been three times. Terrible employee!

I got a repurposed McFlurry; it actually contained two bites, and everything was mixed together. The chicken nuggets were cold and tasted old. The staff just give you a dirty look when you say something, and the tables are absolutely filthy and haven't been cleaned. The restrooms are dirty and smelly.

By far the worst McDonald's I've ever been to. I was on my way from the station and decided to grab a "MacCie." I placed my order and paid at the kiosk. It was quiet, so the order was ready quickly. A quiet young woman, who was probably being trained, got a sneer from the female "assistant manager" when she didn't know how to order the milkshake and Sprite. Not exactly pleasant to see as a customer. When I got home, a lot was wrong. I ordered two large "big tasty" menus. The burgers were fine, the two fries together were barely enough for one medium, no straws (difficult with a shake), and not the three mayonnaise dishes I paid for. Next time, I'll just go to Rooseveltstraat. I'll skip the Beestenmarkt from now on.

The food is decent. The atmosphere is pretty and relaxing. But they made my burger wrong two times. Eventually, I gave up trying. It is not recommended for people with allergies because, for example, you can order a burger without pickles because you have an allergy, but they put it in anyway. My first impression of this place was horrible. Do not try eating at this place.

The most unfriendly young lady serving. Such a shame, kindness costs nothing. So, you can only use the restroom as a customer with the staff's permission, or how this McDonald's treats you like a toddler.

Had filed a complaint is neat. Handled would receive an email within 5 minutes yesterday but did not receive it My email is without capital letters and all lower case letters. Too bad they offer a solution but vouchers that are promised are not fulfilled I thought it was neat that it was handled well the complaint too bad that the solution that was offered was not sent

Come to get a milkshake in Leiden this afternoon. Didn't get a receipt when I ordered at the column. I went to the counter and told my story. She said 1..... she gave me the shake without saying anything and a face like thunder. Don't go to work then. She was wearing black and white clothes. I'll never go there again, my whole enjoyment of my milkshake was ruined..grrrrr

Very tasty food but very bad service

Great food, took a long time to get the food, and I was one chicken nugget short... Otherwise great! Neat and clean!

Since the renovation of the restaurant. The atmosphere is nowhere to be found. It is not comfortable to sit, the cushions feel like a small layer of cardboard and the layout is very unpleasant. When ordering a mcflurry you get a small layer with a few crumbs in it. When I ask for more they give the answer it is gone when half an hour later it is refilled. It was not busy and had very little to do. Very rude.

Ordering convenience at its best! I placed my order via the McDonald's app to avoid the queue at McDonald's Leiden, and it went really well. The app was clear and easy to use, and when I arrived, my order was ready and waiting. Everything was perfect – hot, fresh and exactly as I ticked it. This is really ideal if you want to take something quickly without waiting long. Definitely worth repeating!

I walked in and ordered delicious food with some friends, which was nice, but when we got up to leave to go to school (and we left some stuff on the table, my apology) I was approached by a man in a suit, he told me in an intimidating way that I had to clean up my mess, I then neatly threw it in the trash can, but when I then wanted to put the tray on top, it fell. Without a chance to say sorry, the man again intimidated and shouted at me with examples of how many creative ways I have been verbally abused: antisocial pig, and some other creative ways with the word kk. The man got in my face until he was almost touching my face with his face. He told me if I knew how expensive that tray was, I quickly made the connection that he must be an owner or something. I thought it was such an unreasonable and one-sided conversation that I walked away. A friend of mine was not pleased with the owner's behavior that he entered into a confrontation about why he was so unreasonable, the man reacted exactly the same to him as he did to me. Dude, if you're reading this, you're acting a bit professional.

Food was good, the terrace is beautifully situated on a square.

McDonalds has been renovated, it is completely modern now, most of it has remained the same but new, but this is really sad, they have removed the play corner and there are now digital things, it is a shame that children have to grow up with this and cannot play the old-fashioned way. The rest looked nice, but lacked a play corner

Staff says: I'll come and help you in a moment, you stand at the counter. They look at you and do nothing. Ridiculous. Also had to pay 1 euro to go to the toilet. Receipt did not work on devices. Many appliances were also broken. Atmosphere was not pleasant. There was a lot of chewing gum under the table, which got my pants dirty. If you're so hungry and you can't hold it in anymore, you better die. Worst McDonalds ever.

Ordered the red fruit lemonade. However, this was not, nor will ever will be, red fruit lemonade. When we pointed out it was only ice and asked them for water they told us to fill it up in the bathroom. Oh, and the rest of the food was trash too, btw.

Really like the new store design. The quite except for a for fries and lettuce pieces on some table and one full bin but that is to expect workers do their best as for my order it quite ok except my sprite was little watery and the bread and chicken sensation was a little dry and the mozzarella sticks were also a little dry even with the sauce and the new twister fries were great I saw they have great systems in place to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible

New interior looks nice but also feels a bit 'cold'. Trash bins were full and some ordering stations had run out of paper for receipts. Food is standard McDonald's quality. It's also a shame that you have to order something or pay for the toilet.

I felt like having a bite of ultra-processed food, so the Mac was the obvious choice. Order kiosk is really great. It was ready quickly, hot and tasted as you would expect. The restaurant has no atmosphere and an army of annoyingly noisy teenagers did not really contribute to the dining experience. They left everything behind and were too miserable to show any respect to the staff. Too bad, because they really do their best. 👍👍👍

Visited several of their branches, even from a simple hamburger they make something tasty, intake manifold from such a dry case with mediocre sauce and lettuce... top branch and next to them there is also a top company with delicious pancakes.
