McDonald's Leiden Rooseveltstraat in Bos- en Gasthuisdistrict

I come from the USA and I went to the Netherlands to have a fun holiday. We saw a Macdonald’s on the way back home, so me and my family wanted to see if it is actually different. It turned out to be our biggest mistake. The employees didn’t even greet me. I then had to wait 5 minutes and they asked me what I wanted. The employee then stopped without saying anything and I had to wait another 5 minutes. They then got my order wrong and everything was cold, and not baked well. You should never go here!

The McDonald's on Rooseveltlaan in Leiden is without a doubt one of the worst McDonald's locations I've ever experienced. The McDrive at this location is a structural failure. Orders are often incomplete: items (like French fry sauce) are frequently missing, which you only discover after you've already left the drive-thru. That's why I now check everything before accepting orders, which is actually quite telling. Some time ago, even a Coke was missing. The employee claimed it hadn't been ordered, which led to an argument. His "solution": I had to re-enter the drive-thru with my food on my lap. Completely unacceptable. In the end, I only got the Coke because a queue was forming behind me, not out of customer service. We recently visited this McDrive again, which was definitely the last time for me. At the ordering station, I politely asked if my order could be packed in two separate bags, one per person. Without any explanation, the employee split them into two separate orders. Then, while I was ordering, another customer went to help me, meaning I had to wait for several minutes. At the checkout, I had to pay for the two orders separately. At the pickup window, I was then handed one large bag and a separate bag, with the instruction that I should divide it myself in the car. I refused, as I had deliberately placed two separate orders. The rude woman kept pushing for the bags (in the cold air outside the window). Only after my insistence did the window, visibly irritated, close and she proceeded to divide the order. No apologies were forthcoming. We weren't even greeted. When I asked for the manager, she claimed he wasn't there, which turned out to be a lie. Only after insisting did he appear, and I was able to file my complaint. To make matters worse, the distribution turned out to be incorrect: I bit into my fellow passenger's hamburger, and my own cheeseburger had cooled down by then. We returned these items and asked for a refund. Manager Brian, however, was courteous and cooperative; that was the only positive aspect of the entire visit. The conclusion is clear: this location's McDrive is structurally substandard. Even the simplest task—packing the right products correctly for a fee—seems like too much to ask. And if something goes wrong, you're met with inappropriate behavior instead of apologies and solutions. A pleasant outing turns into yet another unpleasant experience at this location. This needs urgent action. A manager should always be available immediately; no arguments at the counter with rude employees, just apologies and delivery of what was ordered and paid for. The lack of competition at this location is clearly reflected in the quality and service. A McDonald's far below par, run by inexperienced young people with no direction, customer focus, or sense of responsibility.

I'm never ordering from here again. I've ordered through Thuisbezorgd twice now, hoping the second time would be better. It wasn't. When you order a LARGE portion of fries, you get the contents of a regular size. The containers aren't even half full. A real rip-off. Because they know you can't go back to complain and ask for more with delivery. The sundae barely had any chocolate sauce, and the cheeseburgers are getting smaller and smaller. McDonald's: the epitome of greed. What the hell???? 🤪

This MacCie's looks cozy around this time of year. Apparently, the focus is more on appearance than on what it really is. Unfortunately, one of our better MacCie's was closed for renovations, so we moved to this small branch. What a disgusting place. It started with a filthy sofa. All sorts of food scraps on it and on the floor. But okay... Once we ordered, we had to wait for our food. We quickly mentioned at the counter that we'd prefer milk with a menu instead of cola... "No problem," was the answer. And there it was. Young staff members with two full trays in front of our table. And what was missing? Milk! They didn't know anything. But the answer was... "Milk is out of our branch." And that was it. They were gone... Sure enough. Four menus, three of which didn't come with fries. Back downstairs. No apologies, but thankfully back up with warm fries. My Big Mac, the middle bun was cut in half. But I didn't feel like going back downstairs. Just check out the hygiene in this store. I couldn't resist taking pictures and writing a review. There's simply no management here! My advice is to drive to another McDonald's.

It was quiet. I brought my neighbor's son with me, and it turned out he didn't like the green Fristi because it was still closed. The employee came all the way upstairs with all kinds of packaged drinks, so he could choose what he liked. What great service! The new employee, who was on his first day that day, was also very friendly and helpful.

Just ordered a meatless McCrispy. While I'm eating, I realize it's the meat version. The receipt and box do say meatless. Very sloppy, I'm ordering the vegetarian version for a reason. They're very difficult for the consumer to distinguish visually.

I ordered a simple hamburger. It took about 10 minutes to be ready. It turned out the hamburger wasn't cooked properly at all. The bun came straight from the freezer without being heated.

A standard fine McDonalds, but I have experienced much friendlier staff elsewhere.. In Oegstgeest, Sassenheim etc. Etc. And for sure in Africa 🤔

Come here occasionally, often the patties are cold and limp. yesterday picked up 3 menus, 5 min in the car and everything was cold even the burgers. Limp fries and containers minimally filled and coke without fizz and even with a piece of plastic waste in it.

We thought we would score another McFlurry. That used to be a party for us a while ago, but now... There was a new flavour: pecan. A well-imitated shade of green (food: looks disgusting) and smells recognisable at first bite, then only sweet. It turned out there were no nuts in it at all, as the photo suggests. 2 McFlurries 7.60 PLUS 0.30 plastic surcharge. But I didn't want any plastic at all and I didn't see any plastic either (fortunately, I thought). But when I asked, it turned out there was a very thin coating on the paper cup: €0.15 legally required surcharge! Oh yes, they also forgot to put a few grams of biscuit crumbs in it (service). The manager explained it all kindly and patiently (atmosphere). In the past, the McFlurry had a specific flavour and structure and it was our party, now it's just soft ice cream. Or rather McFlut, boring ice cream.

There was no more salad in stock. First discovered at home that I had been given the wrong burger. Noisy and messy environment. The staff seems to have fun and be nice with each other. The customer seems to be unimportant...

10 people working but all busy chatting and laughing with each other. That's part of it, as long as the rest is in order. Unfortunately that wasn't the case with us.. Waited 20 minutes while we were the only ones in the restaurant waiting for our food. We regularly go to Mac, but this was exceptionally long (and without reason). When we got our food everything was cold, because we had to wait for the fries that still had to be fried (which they only discovered when the rest was ready). Very unfortunate and unnecessary!

Great mc donalds. Very convenient along the road. Outside is a playground for children. They can climb in and play, also inside there is a playground thing. There are enough places outside and inside for the number of customers that this mc donalds has on average. You can also go through the mc drive here. Or have your car cleaned by the neighbors. This mac has been at this location for as long as I know and I am very satisfied with the service. Speed ​​and hygiene of this mac.

Great place, my kid loves the playground. But sitting outside isn't pleasant - lots of garbage on the floor, birds jump in the tables, trying to pick up you food. In 30 minutes here I haven't seen any staff cleaning the mess under tables or on the floor around. Too bad, previously I gave this place 5 stars.

Delicious breakfast here in the morning on the weekend. Super delicious egg muffin with coffee and a croissant for a very reasonable price. Nice newspaper, music not too loud, food is always fast, good and freshly prepared, many guests present but always room and not too noisy, friendly staff.

The milkshake machine doesn't seem to be set up properly here, way too much syrup, which makes it taste way too sweet and strong, and the milkshake was already completely liquid even though we got it from the Mcdrive and drank it straight away.

Most disgusting McDonald's ever! Everything is dirty and dirty, full of young people who cannot behave, food is cold and it is so nice that you would rather try to stuff your stuff in one of the overflowing trash cans and leave than report it.

I don't know what's going on lately, but something is wrong with the evening shift. I don't feel like working I guess. Everything that should be on the burger is always next to it and loose in the box. Even the cheese that should be on the burger is hanging halfway next to it. Meat and chicken completely cooked and super hard, inedible. McFlurry also shit, hardly any topping and sauce, not stirred nothing.

One of the slower McDonalds. They are still talking here. Managers deal with handsome employees (which is harassment in the workplace), women have to talk to them logically. I ordered a MacFlurry, but the coupon was gone. So I had no order number. It all worked out in the end, but quite a bit of extra work to get the food I paid for.

The staff is unfriendly and they try to delay the orders by giving a cold menu or delaying the response on the Mac drive, it is a very bad service and customers have a very bad experience because their orders treat you with mistakes. Overall the place and food are nice, but the staff will make you change your mind if you go to another place that has good service and friendly staff.

What a bad shit place, I order Twister Fries, I come home, take out my food, start eating quietly, start eating my fries and I find out that there are old, cold, normal fries in between my Twister Fries to fill it up because the staff is too lazy to do it the right way.
