McDonald's in Oude Stad

Mr. Mert, the Turkish manager with the black hair, once told me to pay attention and hurry up two seconds after he called out my order. Ugh. Really poor service from Mr. Mert. I don't think people like that should work there, because they ruin the experience for the guests.

The toilet costs 1 euro for visitors, there was no toilet paper, and two stalls were occupied. At the checkout, they didn't even tell me my order number and gave it to someone else, and at the coffee counter, they didn't give me a cheesecake, so I had to ask for it.

Orders don't include what you ordered. Orders can sit for 10 minutes before you're called. The toilet costs €1 and is extremely dirty and completely unsanitary in a paid area.

Worst possible McDonalds ever! The people working there look like they are forced to work there. Long waiting time and everything it’s dirty in the restaurant and especially bathrooms. I paid 1€ for my child to enter to those disgusting bathrooms and I had to take him out immediately. When I told to the person at the kassa that the bathrooms are dirty he said “okay”.

The atmosphere is bad, only among the young people hanging around looking for trouble, the service is bad, very smart employees with a short fuse, the only thing that is tasty are the Mac flurrys because they are cold anyway, the rest of your food you get cold again, I will never come here again

I feel that the staff working there has no joy or even show that they care. Customers can wait for long time for their food and nobody would reach out and ask. They will do their best to avoid eye contact. Is sad because I take my kids to eat there and feel like this shouldn’t be the place you take because all the grim faces from the staff. Totally don’t recommend.

Food just like you'd expect from McDonald's. I don't mind paying €1.00 for the toilet... But only if it's terribly dirty and broken!

Unfriendly staff. The floor was supposedly cleaned. It was incredibly slippery, but still very dirty.

I popped into McDonald's for what you'd call a quick bite. Coffee is €65 plus €1.50, and that's a large cup. A Big Mac is included for €6.50. The coffee is fine, especially for the price, but I find the Big Mac a tasteless, bland snack. You're stuffing down an awkward thing. It was incredibly busy with young people and families with children. But if you want to use the restroom, you have to pay a euro. What restaurant charges for the restroom? Give them a receipt that's too good. I'd already spent €8, let alone a family. And then you eat without cutlery or anything.

Ridiculously expensive toilet. And it's definitely not "fast food." It takes ages!

This McDonald's was complete chaos. Children aged 15 or 16 were running around, throwing food and cups, and making everything dirty. We spoke to them, but they didn't listen at all. When the manager arrived, he was even friendlier to the children than to us and annoyingly said that he "can't control everyone who comes in," even though the disturbance had already been going on for minutes. A bottle of cleaning spray was lying on the floor upstairs because of their behavior, but none of the staff cleared it away (which can be very dangerous). The staff barely speak Dutch and barely understand you. Earlier, I was given half a McFlurry here, and when I pointed it out, the same manager responded sarcastically with, "Should I get a kitchen scale? This is the amount of ice cream you get?" and I didn't get a new one. I really don't understand how this man became a manager; he's unprofessional and very smart. Poor service, no control, and absolutely no professionalism. Never again.

I usually write bad reviews for Maccie, but this time an employee helped me get a pretty hefty refund from Thuisbezorgd! Thuisbezorgd and Maccie are independent, so I really appreciate this! It doesn't change the fact that I find forgotten sauces or straws annoying (and sometimes a hamburger), but this really makes up for everything. Thanks again!🙏🏻

The food is always the same, of course. It took a bit longer than usual, but it was still edible. The kids are happy with it 😄 The interior here is... Quite arty and busy. But hey, taste is a matter of taste 😄

Taking 1€ for toilet usage from regularly paying customers is beyond evil. The staff seemed ashamed themselves. These are shady tactics and y‘all need to do better in the future.

Messy, dirty and paying for yet another dirty toilet...

Hi everyone, this branch really needs enforcement because there are always problematic young people hanging around outside, causing mischief and not stopping. They're also annoying people who want to walk by or go inside to eat. Regarding the hygiene of this branch, I'm at a loss for words. It makes me sick. One good point: the staff are friendly, but it's anything but clean inside. I hope something can be done about this and that it will hopefully be clean for the future.

It's not a place where I would want to go again. It was really terrible (not only the food, I'm not really fan of fast foods because it's really overpriced as much as this one and it's not enough food for the price), but the interior it's self and you have to pay to go to the toilet and it's really dirty, the interior was kind of good only the design wasn't my cup of tea.

The ice cream was delicious, but we had to wipe the table ourselves.

There is no answer and it has already taken 45 minutes for the order to be prepared... I won't be hungry anymore.

This is truly the worst and most disgusting restaurant I've ever seen/eaten. The toilet is €1 (with 4 children), which is already €5. There's poop everywhere in the toilet, really filthy. They don't even come to the table like we're used to. I'll never eat here again.

Standard McDonald's. My Chili Chicken patty was a bit stale.

We were four people and we spent 70 euros and when I go to the bathroom I have to pay 1 euro. I think it's a disgrace after spending 70 euros. Otherwise, it's fine.

This is a drop in the ocean considering there are so many negative reviews, but these people can't keep it together when it's busy. I had to wait over half an hour for a Happy Meal for our son, even though the service time was supposed to be 3 minutes. Also, lying employees making excuses about broken screens. Never come to this McDonald's again!! And I recommend it to anyone near Haarlem. It's hard to imagine the franchisee of this franchise is satisfied with the service of its employees. McDonald's head office should be involved with the abysmal service of this franchise.

Never seen such slow employees 15-minute wait for a cheeseburger

I'm very dissatisfied with this McDonald's. I went there with my mother. I ordered a Big Mac menu, fries, and salad for my mother. Something went wrong with the pickup code on the monitor. At first, my pickup code was listed as "ready," and then it suddenly disappeared. Then I went to the employee at the pickup counter. He said the order wasn't ready yet. Then the employee came with the order except for the salad. I had to wait a long time for the salad. At some point, I raised the issue, and then the salad arrived. Another employee, not from the pickup counter, wanted to give me new fries, because the fries had been sitting there for a while. And the employee at the pickup counter wouldn't let me. Very poor service.

Unfortunately, the tables weren't that clean anywhere. But we always carry wet wipes with us.

And many years later, the staff, just like in the 80s, still shouts out the order number... Multi-company, but the order number system on the screen still doesn't work after 10 years. Hahaha, worst, poorest MC ever!

Paid 35 euros for a meal and then you have to pay another euro if you want to go to the bathroom. Unbelievable. This could be done with the receipt. At least for customers. Everyone else is fine. Take a shit or pee all over the toilet and then leave.

"Fastfood" most chaotic McDonalds I've been to. Staff is slow and un organized they all look like they dont like their work place. Have seen the manager once and he did not really so much. Food was missing but i didn't feel like waiting for the missing food. Shame of the 3 euro.

It was just a McDonald's. The taste was the same as usual. The restroom costs €1 and requires card payment. However, it's relatively clean. The McDonald's wasn't the cleanest, so I deducted a star. But it wasn't so bad that you'd call it unhygienic. For a quick meal, it's fine.

Long waiting times during lunch service

The store washroom charge 1 euro for customers who actually paid their food & eat there. When I was trying to explain other McDonald’s can use receipt to enter the washrooms - the staff mocked me :)

Once again ordered here against my better judgment. They indicate that it takes 15-35 minutes. Make that 10 times. We waited almost 1.5 hours. Now that is not so bad but your food arrives cold. And when you call McDonald's you get a 15 year old girl on the line who doesn't care about anything plus she doesn't speak Dutch. You are simply not taken seriously. Thuisbezorgd sends you to McDonald's and vice versa. In short, don't order McDonald's via Thuisbezorgd.

Ordered a happy meal. Took over 20 minutes from ordering to receiving. Which is really poor and hardly fast food. Orders were not being handed out in number order, it seemed random. People who ordered before me got their food. And a hamburger happy meal is super basic! Burger was over cooked and dry, chips were soggy. Can't say I'll recommend the place, nor will I go back if I have a choice. Poor show.

I went to McDonald's Haarlem yesterday. And ordered a small order. I waited fifteen minutes for my small order and my number was not on the board. Really bad service I don't recommend this McDonalds. Employees also manager did not work well. I wanted to take the order away but they put it on a plate.

During our sightseeing trip in Haarlem we stopped at McDonald's in Grote Houtstraat, and it was the perfect place to take a break! The location is super central and easy to find when walking around the city. The people who worked there were nice and fast. This was exactly what we needed after a long walk. The restaurant was clean and had plenty of seating even during the lunch rush. Our food came quickly and everything was fresh. We especially enjoyed sitting by the window and watching the street life. It's a great place to relax before heading out to explore the city again!

Super slow service. There’s 8 people working, most of the time just chatting while we were waiting more than 15 minutes for our order. The bathrooms are a disaster, super dirty with no towels plus as a paying customer we had to pay extra for this disgusting bathroom 🤮.

Today I visited the McDonald's in Haarlem and unfortunately this was a very disappointing experience. First of all, there were no Happy Meal boxes available, which is an essential part of the experience for children. In addition, the advertised Minecraft toys were out of stock, even though this was specifically requested. To make matters worse, my order was also missing a straw, which made drinking considerably more uncomfortable. I expect an establishment like McDonald's to have the basics in order. This kind of carelessness causes frustration and disappointment, especially when children are involved. It's a shame that such a simple visit had to go wrong on so many levels. Hopefully something will be done about this.

Paid toilet!!!! This is just a disaster...!!! You can only get one trip to the toilet per order, this is absurd. The logistics of the location of the order counters are located almost in the center of the establishment itself, because of this there are long queues and the atmosphere of a huge and stuffy crowd in the room. There is no distribution of orders to tables, although all tables are marked with radio tags... The problem is with the order screens, they initially require payment only by card, but to pay in cash you need to make a lot of button presses...

Great place, in the middle of Harlem! Big enough to fit quite a big group. Love the placement, in between all the old Harlem houses. You will definitely see me here again.
