Meneer De Boer Breakfast All Day in Centrum

I have been coming here for a long time and I love the food, however I had a really bad experience with the staff recently. They brought my order and it was not what I ordered, which is okay and it happens. However multiple people working there were rude and they gave me really bad looks, as if it was my fault and now they have to fix it for me. I even told someone that if the food will go to waste, I am fine with eating it. She asked me again if I ordered what they initially gave me, I said no but I can take it. They proceeded to make my order again. In total I waited close to an hour, I saw two other same orders going to tables that came after me. However, the worst part is that I felt so uncomfortable the whole time that I rushed to eat my food and leave. I don’t think you should feel like this at a brunch place. I would like to mention that the person who initially took my order was kind and she apologized for the inconvenience at the end. It was not about what happened, but how the other people handled it. I am not sure if I will come again.

Great little place. Staff is kind, food is always good, and because there’s no groups larger than 4 people it’s quieter than some other spots. Everyone who serviced us was kind and the person cooking remade my eggs when there was bacon on them (I forgot to say no pork). Overall it’s good, only issue is the food takes a little while longer since it’s usually full in there but it’s worth it to me. Will be back again

Very good all day breakfast place, the full italian was great, and the pancakes were also very good, usually it's busy so a small wait for a table or your food can be expected. No need to order yourself at the bar anymore, nice touch.

It's understandable that it would be busy on Sunday due to the crowds, but when I asked the waiters about the status of an order placed an hour earlier, they looked at me as if I had asked something inappropriate, which was off-putting.

We’ve been coming here for a long time. But it seems there has been a staff change recently, so the service was incredibly slow. We waited 30 minutes for our sandwiches, and the employee who served us didn’t respond when we thanked them and seemed quite rude. We’re not sure if we’d choose this place again.

A really cute spot with a nostalgic atmosphere. The tables and chairs give off a classroom vibe, and the space somehow feels both open and cozy. A perfect balance. The staff is sweet and friendly, and the food options are great for the price. Beautiful plating and coffee that hits just right! Definitely adding this to my Eindhoven list.

They serve a lot of pork, and you're practically pressured to leave a tip. It was our first and last time. The staff is also not very welcoming in the mornings. You shouldn't be working in the mornings then.

The atmosphere is wonderful; upon entering the room, you feel transported back to the 1950s and can enjoy the resulting slower pace of life. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Breakfast is freshly prepared to order, and you can watch it being made. It tastes excellent and is absolutely worth the price. A truly exceptional breakfast restaurant.

Went there a few times. The breakfast toast is awesome, the Italian and the English breakfasts are also great. Portions are large but a bit expensive. I can also recommend the strawberry orange juice and the lemon ice tea. They are both tasty and fresh. Unfortunately the drinks are a bit tiny. Finally the only problem is the crowdedness. Due to the shop being small there is a long wait line at the door. Overall one of the best places to go for breakfast in Eindhoven.

In my opinion this place is a little bit over rated as my breakfast which was pancakes with scrambled egg and bacon was not really satisfying. Specially the scrambled egg was not good at all. But the staff were nice. I expected more from this place.

Two stars overall, three individually, because I don't want to break it down. Ordering something twice "for" another table and still being served later (when it's a Coke, that's rather odd, because what can be ready faster than a Coke?). I also experienced the same thing with the stools, as mentioned in a previous review: politely asking if you could swap a stool for a chair, only to be told that musical chairs aren't supposed to be played! I also find it odd that you're not allowed to sit down even though there were already two tables free. Then you're stuck in the queue in the hallway where everyone else is supposed to be, paying for it, but being in the way.

I wouldn't say the good was bad, but what the English breakfast lacked was a cohesiveness. English breakfasts are not played of dry toasted bread, dry sausage/bacons, sunny side ups and forced canned baked beans. There has to be something bringing it together. Oil, butter, the sauteed veggies, mashed potatoes, etc. All were missing. Please rethink the platter.

The place was full, we said we could wait and the waitress asked us to wait outside (it was raining) there was one seat in the bar at the entrance and he said one can stay inside the other outside… I’ll never come back to this place

The food was nice, but not an amazing. A little bit pricey for a breakfast in my opinion. The food took a while to get to us, may be 30-40 minutes, for breakfast I think that’s a lot. I like it but I don’t think I’ll go again.

There was a little bit of queue before entering which took about 25 minutes to get a table, but if there's a wait, it has to be good. The quality of the food and coffee was really good, the tables were a little bit too close to each other so maybe little room for movements. The service although good, was slow, from the moment we got our coffee served we waited almost 10 minutes for a slice of carrot cake and ciabatta with stracciatella, so the beverage was almost cold. If the staff fixes this little inconvenient I'm sure that the clients would multiply even more and the quues would be even more justified. Great food and caring staff for sure, we were also happy to leave a tip, but service could be better.

They're still here! Those places where you can relax and enjoy a good cup of coffee, including a neatly presented breakfast. A young team with the right attitude is ready to serve their guests!

Had a truly delicious lunch! Initially, I thought it was a bit pricey, but it was quite a generous portion for me, so I even managed to eat twice. The staff is friendly, the decor is cozy, and the location is great. I'll definitely be back!

On August 8th, around 2:00 PM, we went here because it had such good reviews. We weren't greeted upon arrival, so we asked at the counter if there was a table available. This staff member told us we could still sit, but only at the tables with menus (this was one of eight available tables). When we tried to change the stools (see photo) for chairs with backrests, this woman (the oldest of the five employees, dark hair, blue iPhone, light shoes) rushed over to us, sighing, "If you're going to play musical chairs, sit over there." Her bizarre behavior didn't stop there. When I asked if I could have sugar with my cappuccino, she threw the jar of sugar on the table and said, "You can find sugar at the bar." If I were the owner of this establishment, I would have fired her on the spot, because if the audio recordings were shared, I think there would be significantly fewer customers. We've never been treated so ridiculously in a restaurant.

NEVER AGAIN!! Arrived here around 2:00 PM on Friday, August 8th. Upon entering, we were immediately met with a grumpy tone from the oldest employee. The restaurant was practically empty, yet she still seated us at a table with stools for chairs. When we tried to exchange them for chairs with backrests because of my bad back, she angrily stormed over to us because we were "doing musical chairs." This unfriendly tone continued. When we asked for sugar with our coffee, the woman told us we could "find it at the bar" and then threw it on the table. She clearly didn't seem to enjoy her work. It was a real shame, as we had driven an hour and a half to try this little restaurant. This employee with the dark hair, light shoes, and blue iPhone really needed a customer service course. It's also a shame for the younger women who did go out of their way to please the customers. The food was fine, but we couldn't enjoy it because of the scandalous service.

One of the best breakfasts I had during my tour of the Netherlands. The blueberry pancakes were delicious. The staff was friendly and welcoming, but service wasn't fast. Go there without rushing to get up.

Veel over gehoord dus toch maar eens uitgeprobeerd. Leuke aankleding, vriendelijk personeel. Duurde erg lang voordat we onze bestelling kregen (het eten). Een diner wordt in een gemiddeld restaurant eerder geserveerd. Ik keek erg uit naar de american pancakes maar die waren echt droog en vielen me tegen. Vond ik erg jammer. Scrambled eggs, bacon en croissant waren erg lekker.

A nice place for breakfast and lunch. I tried the schiacciata daviola, spicy salami with eggplant and straciatella. The bread was fresh, crispy, and delicious. The toppings are slightly tart, just a touch spicy, and deliciously moist. The portions are generous. This was one of the better breakfasts.

Great place, a bit small but well organized. Practically downtown, not too expensive, and with a decent selection. The cappuccino was a bit strange; I'm not sure if it was barley coffee or the non-cow's milk (almonds, etc.), but I recommend it anyway.

First time here, and we were helped by the gentleman with the mustache. Hospitality is his top priority; he's truly the friendliest and most welcoming host I've ever met! The food, atmosphere, and decor were also fantastic! We'll definitely be back to try more delicious dishes from the menu 😁

Wat een geweldige plek is t toch! De sfeer, wauw! Hoe welkom kun je je voelen. Het zat binnen vol en toch was ik meer dan welkom. Uiteindelijk buiten gaan zitten waar zeer attent werd gewezen op dat de tafel wat wiebelig is. Dat viel te verwaarlozen maar het gebaar daar draait t om. En de Vegan sandwich die raad ik iedereen aan! En kom je in tijdnood dan krijg je t mee in een papieren zak gesealed met een Meneer de boer sticker. Wanneer mag ik weer naar ‘t Zuiden? Dan weet ik waar ik ontbijt of lunch!!! 🤩

We got banana and pecan pancakes and compote berry and mascarpone waffles both were very good, but I liked the waffle more. We went very early in the morning so it was quiet and we got our breakfast relatively quick.

We went to Meneer De Boer – Breakfast All Day for an early breakfast before work. The place has a cozy and inviting atmosphere, and the menu looked promising with plenty of options for a satisfying start to the day. We had heard good things about the food, so we were looking forward to a nice, efficient breakfast to fuel us for the day ahead. The breakfast itself was quite good. The ingredients were fresh, everything was nicely presented, and it tasted great—no complaints there. It’s clear that they care about the quality of the food, and for that reason alone, I can see why people recommend it. Unfortunately, the service was very slow, which was frustrating considering we were there early and had limited time before work. It took quite a long time—longer than expected—for our breakfast to be served, even though it wasn’t overly busy at the time. After we finally got our food and finished eating, we ordered coffee, but the staff forgot about it. We waited around 10 to 15 minutes and had to remind them, which caused even more delay. While the staff were friendly and apologetic, the lack of attention to timing and follow-up was a bit disappointing, especially for a morning visit when people are usually on a schedule. Overall, I’d say it’s worth visiting once, especially if you have time to spare and want a nice breakfast in a relaxed setting. But for a quick early meal before work, it might not be the most efficient option.

Good food and great coffee. Staff was a bit overworked but did their best. Tables were cramped together. Acoustics were really terrible. I am sensitive to noise and put in earplugs.

The staff was incredibly rude, in many different ways. We wanted to have brunch at the table, but after the rudeness of the staff we decided to take away. We ordered two coffees and two croissants and we were surprised to find that we were charged 21 euros. When we politely queried the price, the cashier said “what, you don’t trust me?”. We found it rude and unnecessary since there was no signage to indicate the prices before paying (it is also a completely fair & essential right of the customer to understand the breakdown of the bill). Overall we were made to feel totally unwelcome & ripped off - wouldn’t recommend.

There’s a new owner, and this visit was a truly cozy and welcoming experience! He personally came to our table, sat with us for a while, and took the time to explain the new menu and share his recommendations. The atmosphere is a charming blend of Italian coastal flair and rustic Dutch farmhouse — a unique and inviting mix that makes the place feel both fresh and familiar. To repeat more often!!!!

Haven‘t had such a great start into the day in years! All (!) the personnel shines brighter than the morning sun, a cheerful playlist adds more good mood and when your dishes come, you are already happy by seeing the lovely made fresh masterpieces. And of course everything tastes delicious. Made our day! ❤️❤️❤️

It is a small menu for lunch unless you want to have a late breakfast. But that does not matter. There is enough choice and the sandwiches are very tasty. The atmosphere is nice and informal with a lot of wood. Service is nice and attentive but takes its time.

The atmosphere at Maurice and Sabine's was always great! Went back for the first time since the takeover. We were spoken to by a rather 'spicy' lady, unfriendly; downright rude. They turned us around. Too bad, but the food can be so good, if your staff has an attitude it will cost you customers.

I visited Meneer De Boer on Easter Sunday around 10AM, and despite the small size of the shop, the cozy atmosphere made the short 15-minute wait feel totally fine. The space is warm and charming, with a homey, slightly vintage feel. It’s relaxed, clean, and even though it’s a bit lively with conversations echoing inside, it doesn’t take away from the comfort. The staff were kind and attentive right from the start. They gave us a heads-up on wait time and made sure we were settled quickly. We got our menus at 10:15, fresh orange juice a bit later, and food arrived around 10:55—reasonable considering how busy it was. We tried several dishes, and everything looked beautiful and thoughtfully plated. The Italian breakfast was a standout—full of variety and balance. The scrambled eggs were unbelievably tasty (better than homemade!), and I loved how every bite could combine different ingredients like prosciutto, mozzarella, pesto, or focaccia. It was satisfying without being heavy. The pancakes with berries were also delicious—fluffy and sweet with just the right balance. I usually don’t like berries, but I could still tell they were high quality. The whipped cream was light and not overly sweet, which worked perfectly with the toppings. The sandwich, which came wrapped in checkered paper in a cute basket, looked great and according to my dad, tasted just as good. It was very noisy and we got hot coffee instead of iced coffee, but when we indicated it was quickly remade without any problems.

We found Mr. de Boer on a Sunday morning, we arrived around 11 am and we were lucky enough to be seated straight away. Please note that this is a popular spot, after we sat down there was a line outside of about three groups. They were spoken to politely by the waitress. I think they do everything they can to give everyone a pleasant experience, because even though there was a line outside, we never felt rushed. We ordered two cappuccinos, a pineapple mint juice, waffles with banana and pecan nuts and a Mr. Farmer, without ham and with an extra egg. What a delicious breakfast this was! The waffles were soft, not too sweet and the flavors combined wonderfully. The Mr. Farmer was perfect, the croissant was soft and flaky, the cheese had a wonderful flavor, the yogurt has changed how I eat my yogurt in the morning. The egg with hat is incredibly touching, as soon as we ordered our food, the table next to us also wanted a boiled egg. The fried egg was beautiful, nice edges and a beautifully runny yolk. Well seasoned too. The only downside I can think of is that the boiled egg was well cooked. The egg yolk was really hard boiled. I can imagine that this has to do with convenience and safety, personally I would have liked the egg better if it was a bit softer. But it certainly didn't spoil the fun. Be sure to go to Mr. de Boer, enjoy the food and the friendly service!

We had lunch here and had the caprese and la parma sandwich and shared it. These were well matured and very tasty. The bread was also nice and crispy, which provided a delicious extra bite. The service was very good as we got our food quite quickly. Furthermore, it is a nice and cozy tent.
