The Happiness Cafe in Centrum

We visited this place on 27th of December with my family while on vacation. Delicious coffee and brunch

One sentence: it's a shame it's so cramped. The food is perfect, the service too. It feels like the perfect place to have a good breakfast (if you want to treat yourself). The price is higher, but that's reflected in the amount you get. As I said, it's very cramped. You shouldn't come during peak hours, as it'll be hard to find a spot, but other than that: Highly recommended!

Food was VERY DELICIOUS, staff were friendly and welcoming, they were also fast with bringing the food. I will come back in the future, the cappuccino was very good as well, and definitely a big cup enough to satisfy my morning caffeine need hahaha🤣.

We only had two cappuccinos. The wait was too long, about 30 minutes, absurd. Lots of people and poor service. Overrated place, expensive.

It's just a shame it's so often full. Understandable, though.

Really lovely food, definitely recommend

I have been here many times and always have a good experience. They have a more diverse coffee selection than most places. I have not tried the food, only the bakery items, but those have always been really good.

Coffees are good. But dont try the brownie. We ordered 3 coffees and 3 brownies. All the brownies were cold and the texture was so hard like it went out the freezer 2 min ago.

A good place to try for breakfast! The food was tasty, although it came out a bit cold. The waiting time from order to serving was around 20–30 minutes, even though the restaurant wasn’t very busy. However, the atmosphere and the area are beautiful, which makes it a pleasant spot to relax and enjoy your meal.

Great place! It's a bit crowded, so you sometimes have to wait a bit for service, but the staff is friendly. The banana bread is highly recommended.

Such a cozy and welcoming place! The atmosphere is relaxing, the coffee is excellent, and the pastries are fresh and delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the whole experience makes you want to stay longer. Food is ok. Tables are very close to each other. It took 40 min for the food to be served during lunch time on Saturday.

The food was fine. Good portions, though quite pricey (€5.50 for an iced tea). The girl who served us was extremely grumpy (she spoke English). Our first drinks and food arrived very quickly (within 10 minutes). When the food arrived, we ordered a second round of drinks (ice tea and spritz). These hadn't arrived after half an hour. We were almost finished with our food, so we told the waitstaff that we hadn't received our drinks yet. It seems logical to ask where our drinks were, especially since the people next to us, who ordered later, already had their drinks and it was less busy. You'd expect someone to say they'd check, but they said to us in a sharp tone: "We have more people." And she walked away. A very strange reaction. We understand that, but can't it happen that something is forgotten or already prepared? As if you're not allowed to ask the waitstaff where something is when you've already been waiting for half an hour? Then she went to the counter and someone else served it. It's really strange that she then goes on to talk about us with that colleague.

Had a delicious lunch! It was quite busy, but there was still room. The food arrived fairly quickly. It was a very pleasant place for a delicious breakfast or lunch. With lots of healthy and vegetarian options.

Cutie little place near to the centraal with places outside on the 🌞. The food was good, interesting menu as well. Would recommend

We sat outside in the summer. The staff was very attentive and asked us to open the umbrella so we could sit in the shade. The food is delicious, with an extensive menu featuring many vegetarian dishes.

Went here this weekend for the first time. Around 12.00 you already see people waiting to be seated, outside was full. Inside was crowded but it doesn't bother me at all, the decoration and way how they placed their furniture feels very cosy and not chaotic. Food and drinks are good and price is decent. Service already starts outside, the young waiter welcomed us with a smile. Service inside was excellent, polite, friendly and fast with a smile. For sure I will come back.

Very cosy place for breakfast. Great selection (both vegan and vegetarian as well) on the menu for big and small appetites. I had a croissant with scrabbled eggs and it was a great way to start my day. Would definitely recommend a visit.

I love the Den Bosch location, and my visit to the Eindhoven one was also a success! Despite the busy lunchtime, the service was friendly and fast. I ordered a Sunny Avo Toast with bacon and scrambled eggs and my favorite drink: an iced vanilla latte with oat milk. Delicious again! We really enjoyed our lunch after finding another lunch spot closed and deciding to skip the long line at Meneer de Boer. The Happiness Cafe, always recommended!

The food itself is very good but nothing that special. When you are seated, they tell you that for food you have to wait around 40min, so yes, you have to wait. The waitresses seem a bit stressed out, now really sure what are they exactly doing. Dirty cutlery

The Cafe is cozy and has outdoor and indoor seating. Overall, it is a nice place for a quick breakfast, but I expected a little bit more.

Gluten free and vegan options! I had a beautiful avocado and salmon sandwich, the portion was really generous and the food was tasty. I think the coffees are not amazing here, 3/5, but the food is really nice. Also the air conditioner was really strong, I asked to pour it down but I guess it stayed the same.

Enjoyed delicious cappuccinos and coffee. The terrace has a pleasant atmosphere and is centrally located. Although it wasn't busy when we visited, we had to wait an extremely long time for a small order. Otherwise, it's a great concept.

Great place! The food is great, very tasty, filling and large portions. The coffee is also just great. The carrot cake deserves special attention, it was great. The service is also great ❤️ I recommend this place for a great breakfast!

A very nice cafe with a lovely, original menu. The food was delicious. I had the halloumi and peach. I personally preferred it with chunks of halloumi instead of grated. It was a bit of a mush with the yogurt. It lacked a bit of texture. The flavor was delicious. The others were also very happy with their food. Great location. Friendly staff. The dishes for the four of us were brought out at different times, with a considerable amount of time between them. As a result, the first two had finished theirs long before the others arrived. That was a shame, but I think it was because it was so busy. All in all: I would definitely go back, because the food was fantastic!

We had a wonderful meal at The Happiness Café! Despite the crowds, we were quickly seated. The poached eggs were delicious, and the atmosphere was cozy. We'll definitely be back!

Always a lovely place to come. Kind staff and amazing food. Sometimes it can be very busy, so you might need to wait a little before you can pay for example. Highly recommend one of their bowls, like the Açai or Pink Paradise. The bowls have changed since I made the photo below and they look a bit smaller. Good to know :)

A cozy place for breakfast, stylish interior, a large selection of various variations of dishes and drinks. Convenient menu with allergens, there is also a separate children's menu. Lots of gluten-free food or with the possibility of preparing it without gluten, lactose, etc. The staff is friendly and attentive.

Quite rude: A couple of weeks ago I had a great recommendation from my family to visit this restaurant. So a week ago, I visited with a group of 10 family members that included 4 kids. As they don’t take reservations, wet there early and it was not very busy. When requested for a table, one of their colleagues courteously agreed and took us inside but another colleague interrupted and said we cannot serve this big a group. I have been travelling with this group to different places but in places where it was not possible, we were given a choice to be seated separately. None at this place. They simply said wthat they cannot accommodate us without any explanation. I came there due to the positive review and the food may be good there but they already made me feel that I am wasn’t welcome. If you are just a couple, try your luck. This place isn’t for me!

The pistachio latte is the best

A gem in Eindhoven for fresh bowls health snacks and great coffee. Never lets you down with your choice. Has been my favorite place since I stepped into this town. Try their açai bowl for sure.

Nice teas and a great carrot cake. It was extremely crowded when we went and they seemed a bit understaffed however the employees are very nice people. The outdoor seating was also nice.

Really wonderful place. Service and atmosphere are a standout. The staff is so friendly! We visited twice in 2 days and always busy. We had wonderful breakfast, coffees and the gingershots. Highly recommend

great, espacially for breakfast and coffee. Finding a spot might be a hardwork but it worths.

The place is visually very pleasant – the dishes and drinks look really aesthetic and inviting. Unfortunately, that's where the impressions end. The taste of the dishes and drinks does not match their appearance – average, bland. I was particularly disappointed with the ceremonial cocoa – very thin, watery and definitely too weak. The biggest minus, however, is the service: passive, not very engaged, giving the impression that the presence of guests is indifferent to them. There is potential, but it still needs a lot of work to make you want to come back.

11:00 place was full. In front of was 3/4 workers eating and chatting. And I get it that people need a brake but I was waiting for my breakfast 20 minutes and and 10 minutes for pay. One girl could not handle all of the people and I get it. But why rest of them on front of waiting clients just take a break in one time ? Very strange. My breakfast takes almost an hour…

Tasty food and nice drink options. It was quite busy though, so it took a bit long.

Had lunch here with 2 people. Had to wait almost 1 hour for order. Was neatly solved with free coffee. We saw several people leave without food. In retrospect it would have been useful to know that it would take so long. The food was fine, but did not make up for the long wait.

Everything was fine and unexcited

There were three of us at the Happiness Café and we chose a table outside. We received quick and friendly service, and our drinks and breakfast also arrived quickly. There was a slight mix-up with the next table, which meant my friends had to wait a little longer than me for their food, but they apologized and it wasn't worth mentioning. The service was very friendly. The selection is also great, so there's something for everyone.

I got a vegan smoothie here at breakfast time, which was very nice, great service too. There was a nice atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating, toilet facilities were also available. I did not get any food but people in my party did, who are also vegan, and they seemed to enjoy it. Recommended.

We had lunch at this cafe yesterday! We really liked all the dishes! Large selection of healthy and tasty food. We ordered salmon brioche, gluten-free pancakes, chicken salad, mint tea and green smoothie. Great place, we recommend it!

The food was good, but afterwards we found out that we were cheated by the staff! We got something different than we had ordered. The salmon & avo sandwich instead of the sunny avo toast. Because we didn't want to create food waste we said that it was ok, and they offered us both a free cappuccino. When paying they made a big deal about the fact that the coffees were free... But when we looked at the menu again later and did the math, it turned out that we were charged for the coffees! And we also paid for a more expensive menu item! Those are fun games...

Everything was melted. My açaí bowl was completely liquid. Soup! It was basically room temperature. I also ordered a “refreshing pitcher of vitamin infused ice water” and got a room temperature pitcher of water with one lemon slice and a sprig of mint in it, and NO ICE. I was looking forward to a cooling meal on a hot day, and all I got was room temperature melted items. Highly disappointing.

Happiness cafe does not provide any happiness because of slow service. Even though we came in a week day and cafe is not that crowded, we have waited more than 40 minutes to get pancake. There was still no pancake, then we cancelled our order and moved out.

Delicious food and friendly staff. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free available. Also combined, which is great for someone who has a gluten allergy and is vegetarian like me. :) It is always incredibly busy and reservations are not possible, so keep in mind that you will have to queue around lunchtime.

Incredibly good meal, very beautiful and delicious dishes. Kudos to the kitchen! However, the waitress was awful. The cutlery was in a napkin pouch. When I opened the pouch, I saw that my knife was broken (see photo). When I asked if it was possible to get another one, she rolled her eyes, followed by a judgmental "really?" How can you work in such a beautiful, pleasant place and be the complete opposite of the energy of the place? I really hope this person no longer works there.

Food here is really good! When it's busy it takes a while, and that's totally fine, understandable. However, sending a new order to the back of the queue after not bringing the correct order seems a bit unfair and is honestly ridiculous

Food tastes good but its a bit pricy place. We needed to wait for some time. Service is also very slow. Toilets are not well maintained.

this was back in september 2024 - busy since the weather was nice. we had to wait to get a place, which was fine by me. it took a little till we could place our order and for us to get our food. the food was delicious though! there was an option for extra toppings and i loved the drinks, especially the rose matcha!

We arrived at 10 o'clock for (gluten-free) breakfast. Nice weather, plenty of space on the lovely terrace so it was lovely to eat outside. Friendly service. First enjoyed delicious coffee. Breakfast arrived promptly around half past ten. In the meantime, the terrace was busier, especially many tourists. Unfortunately, our happiness breakfast was heavily tainted by the cigarette smoke of the tourists. Very unfortunate, a waste of all those delicious flavours.

Quality is decreasing even tho still is good but prices are drastically increasing and portions even became smaller. It has good gluten free options.

Today we are not happy with 'the Happiness Café'. Sunday morning…. We are looking forward to it, it is busy because of Easter Sunday but less busy than normal. We are helped quickly, but then... There is a change in the open kitchen and the pace immediately drops. Then a 'fit girl' walks in and keeps the entire team busy with 'fun'. The focus is gone and the chaos is complete. Waiting longer than an hour for your ordered breakfast! The place is slowly emptying and we are grumbling and waiting well into the afternoon. The Açai bowl has been on the counter for 20 minutes... but it is still delivered. The presentation of the food is Instagram worthy (a 9 in points) the taste is just a sufficient (a 6) nothing more than that. The purely young staff is neat, good-natured but not proactive and clearly lacks leadership. In a visit of almost 2 hours the problems were identified and ultimately resolved, but... We were not asked once if we wanted something to drink and no appropriate excuses were given. This successful concept deserves more than a failing grade, but not today!

Really delicious food here today! Fortunately, there was still a spot available, because where the neighbors have an empty terrace, here they are completely full and for a reason! If it says “tip” on the menu then you should do it, you won't regret it!

We came back to The Happiness Café after a few months, fondly remembering a better meal and a slightly fuller stomach. The vibes were still nice, and the staff just as friendly and welcoming—but the food this time? A little less exciting. The menu has changed, and while it still looks great on paper (and on Instagram), the portions feel a bit shy, especially for the price. Think more “light brunch before a real meal” than “this will keep me going all day.” Last time, things felt a bit more generous and flavorful—so maybe we just caught them on an off day. Still, it’s a cozy spot with good service and solid vibes. If you’re in the area and want a cute café experience, it’s worth a visit. Just maybe don’t arrive too hungry—or keep a snack in your bag, just in case.

Absolutely terrible experience. We waited over an hour for our food after being told it would take 30–60 minutes. Meanwhile, at least 4–5 tables that came after us got their orders before we did. Completely unacceptable. The service was disorganized and inattentive, and when the food finally came, it wasn’t even worth the wait — bland, cold, and just overall disappointing. Save your time and money and go literally anywhere else. Total waste.

Healthy but tasty and various pastries and dishes. Always our favorit place for brunch, breakfast or coffee. Thanks for the great food and service.

A really nice place, I went two days for breakfast and it didn't disappoint

I understand that Saturday afternoon is busy and it might take a while to recieve the food. What I don’t understand is how come 4 tables that came after us are served first? I also think that waitresses are a bit clueless of what’s going on. You approach me while I’m waiting on my food for like an hour and ask me if I want anything. I’m telling you that I’m waiting for my food and you suddenly are offended? Yelling me that it’s busy and I should be patient? You literally engaged in a conversation with me and you are offended? Food is mediocre, like not bad but nothing spectacular.

I’m here on holiday from Australia, and this has been by far one of the best cafés I’ve visited! It’s a beautiful spot with great coffee, amazing customer service, and truly divine food. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming an absolute gem. I’ll definitely be coming back during my stay! Bedankt 🙏🏽

Classic hipster cafe - a lot of fuss and waiting time for very average food but you can still do it - croissant 🥐 was delicious

You can enjoy delicious food here! It sometimes takes a long time before you get your food, but it is made fresh for you.

Been there for the first time and it was a bad experience. Unfriendly staff. They don't say a word to you when you sit there, they take away dishes from previous customers without even looking at you. If you have just finished eating, they immediately take everything away without asking if they can take it with them or whether we liked it or whether we would like something else... Our food came before our drinks, which was also strange. You pay more for oat milk than for animal milk (cow's milk). Incomprehensible. Vegan milk should be cheaper because I am not a calf. On the outside terrace you almost sit against others, the chairs are so close to each other, and then 2 figures next to us also start smoking! So dirty, it's incomprehensible that that is still allowed there. We sat with our food in the smoke the whole time. There was no room anywhere else we would have sat somewhere else. So not worth repeating!

Was cozy, tasty and quiet! (A bit expensive)

At Happiness Café we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. The choices varied from salty to sweet options. The atmosphere is calm and serene, especially from 8.30am to 10am where you won't find too many people. Their carrot cake is the best in Eindhoven!

Been 3 times, made 3 mistakes with the order and therefore had to wait a very long time. No compensation or apologies at all times. Even though the food is tasty, I won't come back here because of the disappointing service, which is a shame!

I went looking for somewhere that served gluten-free food. Found the Happiness Cafe. They cannot guarantee G-F as it serves food that contains it. I had no reaction to my chicken and avocado sandwich. Tasted ok, but I anticipated it would be more flavoursome, so have only given 4 stars. Staff and atmosphere were lovely.

Chill, “modern”-esque place with good food and coffee. If you’re looking for a place where they don’t just give you an espresso and pastries, The Happiness Cafe has breakfast options with good protein sources and veggies. Baristas were nice and gave me tattoo recommendations!
