Absolutely no atmosphere. And the staff was not polite. It was my first time and also my last. Satays are fried, not grilled. I suspect the spring rolls were fried multiple times because they were rock hard and very brown.

I ordered moksi meti, €17 to eat at home. I have never eaten anything so disgusting. The meat looked old: 2 pieces of fachong and 1 piece of bacon, 3 pieces of chicken. It was all floating in the gravy, with vegetables. The rice was in a separate container. I ate half of it and put the rest in the organic bin. Once and never again.

I loved the fish and beans plate! Employees were helpful in educating me on the dishes so I could make a choice I enjoyed.

They forgot the sambal and the cucumbers were replaced by pickles. Too bad.

Had a delicious meal, soto soup and fried banana.

I give this place 5 stars with full conviction. The employees are incredibly friendly, helpful, and humble.

Very poor value for money! The nasi moksi meti was tasteless, overheated, and clearly reheated for too long. The moksi meti was bone dry, impossible to chew, and lacked fashong. The hot plate made the whole thing even worse. For €20 per portion, this is absolutely unacceptable. Not recommended!

We had another delicious meal today, as always. The chicken curry here is criminally tasty… But what I appreciated a bit less today was that the waiter just took our drinks away without asking if we were finished (there was still water in them...). Could you please keep an eye on that 🙃🙃

We are really enjoying ourselves here!! We have been coming for the saoto for years, but everything on the menu so far is delicious. It takes you back to Suriname for a moment.

I thought it was weird that you can eat at a table inside until 9 pm. That they put chairs on the tables as early as half past eight and then say takeaway only!! Very weird. We probably want to go home early.

The service, the food, and the atmosphere have deteriorated enormously compared to a year ago. I come all the way from Belgium to Rotterdam specifically for Surinamese food, but it is absolutely not worth it anymore. Bad service, unfriendly staff, burnt food. The taste was disappointing and the chicken was dry and tough. The price-quality ratio is also completely off now. I will never come back here and I do not recommend it to anyone.

A disappointing experience. When we took a table we were ignored by staff, no menu or introductions. We examined the menu on our phones instead, and owner came over and said we should order instead of scrolling on our phones. Takenaback as this was the first time any of the staff had acknowledged us, we said we were looking at the menu and he said go look at them inside. When my partner went inside to do his order (there is no table service), the owner came back to me and said the were closing and we had to leave. This was at 21:00, but the restaurant is listed as staying open until 22:00. Would much more recommend the shawarma place opposite Waring Mini, which is where we ended up and got excellent customer service and food.

Magically tasty bara and well-filled! The soup was also well-filled.

Very disappointing experience. I ordered the gado gado chicken satay, but it seemed as if the dish had simply been reheated in the microwave. I received one small chicken skewer with three pieces of chicken fillet that were extremely tough and barely edible. The prawn crackers were also tough!! When I pointed out that I only received one small chicken skewer with a chicken dish served with rice, I was told that I should have ordered extra chicken. This was not mentioned anywhere on the menu, and it seems obvious to me that a main course should contain enough chicken for one person. Poor quality and service. Absolutely not recommended.

Not very good. They say they are open until 22:00, but if you want to sit down for some food at 21:00, they tell you take away only. Only after you have ordered do they tell you this. Also prices are not particularly good value either. I know Rotterdam is expensive, but the quality was nothing memorable. I can say that I have eaten Indonesian food now. First and last time.

I can hardly put into words how bad Warung Mini has become. The saoto soup looked more like water with a Maggi cube, and I won't even start on the chicken. Surely we can't keep downplaying this? Today, after a long time, I ordered saoto soup with bara and telo again, but it was truly inedible. The bara and telo were rock hard, like I was chewing on stones. And that tasteless, watery saoto… it really keeps bothering me. 😤🍲

They put so much samba in your sandwich that it's inedible. I was a customer for a long time, but today the sandwich was inedible. They didn't refund me either.

Food was okay, but service needs improvement. On my first visit, the restaurant was packed and there was no system for seating, people who came later simply took tables ahead of us. The second time was on a weekday and much quieter. I tried ordering via the QR code, but the website was difficult to use, so I ordered at the counter. When the food arrived, I was asked if that was everything I ordered. Since it was my first time trying Surinamese food, I wasn’t sure. The staff response came across as quite rude, which made the experience unpleasant. It would have been helpful if the dishes were briefly introduced when served.

I don't often say that food is gross, but this really made me nauseous. I had a chicken curry sandwich, but the chicken looked like boiled chicken: very juicy and watery, which made the bun soggy and wet too. The bara didn't taste fresh at all; it seemed like it was already old and had been reheated, for example in a toaster. The shrimp inside were dry and had a nasty taste. Moreover, I even got an unpeeled shrimp in my mouth. This really made me nauseous.

We had ordered trie with a telo; it tasted good, but half of my wife's container was filled with ginger. We returned it to the kitchen, but we didn't receive a new container of trie, which we had paid for. I had also ordered a chicken liver sandwich; it had absolutely no taste and the pieces of liver were way too big, so I didn't eat that one either.

All the food was surprisingly good and the price is OK.

First time trying surinamese and this left a really good impression! For the price, the portion is very generous. I ordered the Pom Kipfilet with roti and the plate was FULL. My friend ordered the Moksi Meti with white rice, and the bowl rice was exceptionally big too. I honestly would think a portion could be shared between two people/servings so it’s super worth it (both are for €17)

You get great quality and quantity at a very good price. We ordered fried yucca, plantain chips, fried plantains, chicken soup, kebabs, and a mixed platter with tempeh, vegetables, and chicken. The peanut sauce is special, absolutely delicious. Surinamese food. I highly recommend it.

I stand waiting next to a table for 10 minutes, and then the staff gives it away to someone else.

Very disappointing experience. We waited for a table for over 10 minutes but received absolutely no assistance. Eventually, another group was let in, even though they arrived later. As an explanation, we were told in a rather arrogant tone that they had “already ordered.” The employee with blonde curly hair did not attempt to help us or offer a solution at any point. Instead, she repeated the same remark several times and then simply walked away, without any further explanation or service. This kind of attitude and lack of customer friendliness is truly unacceptable. We felt completely disregarded. Unfortunately, not a pleasant experience and certainly not one we would repeat.

This was the most worthless nasi rames speciaal I have ever had. The bell pepper was a strange surprise.

I found Warung Mini to be quite an experience. Many Surinamese people came to eat there, which is a good sign. I had a Surinamese beef sandwich and my dining companion had Saoto soup with chicken. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The toilets were clean. I would love to come back here again!

A household name in Rotterdam for years, fresh and flavorful, but not anymore. Picked up food today, and when I got home, I found the portions had been halved and were tasteless.

We tried a few different dishes and shared them between three people. The total bill was €39, which felt quite affordable. You can think of it as a casual, almost fast-food style place serving Surinamese dishes. Interesting to try and a nice change of flavors, but not life-changing.

The food is always good, and the staff is busy but helpful. You have to be patient until a table opens up. What we often do, if possible, is share a table with others. It often leads to the most enjoyable conversations.

Great again, but I don't like the ordering columns and QR codes.

I ordered nasi chicken, and they introduced a special nasi chicken dish for an extra €3.50. The nasi was also inedible. The sandwiches were tasty, though.

I’ve been coming here for several years and it was always a great combination of delicious (vegetarian) dishes and a lively, homey, neighbourhood atmosphere, where people of all kind of backgrounds would come to eat. Unfortunately, since the transformation of the restaurant (including screens, QR code menues, no possibility to order at the counter unless it’s takeout) the atmosphere has changed drastically which is very sad. I don’t want to sound nostalgic, but especially in times where everything is designed for efficiency and digital comfort a place such as Warung was a bit like an extension of the living room, a bit chaotic yet cozy. I will still be coming here because of the food and staff but it’s a shame that the management decided to go for the efficiency path while throwing character and uniqueness overboard.

You shouldn't go here for the atmosphere, etc. But they do have delicious food. Definitely recommended.

Wow, that's terrible. I regularly eat roti at various places in the Netherlands, but this was by far the worst. Dry meat, little flavor. We had four different dishes, all of which were truly subpar. Only the bara was good.

We wanted to pick up our takeout from Warung Mini today and were standing at the checkout. But the white woman behind the counter wouldn't help us. She told us to go three doors down. Even though I regularly pick up takeout there. Terrible service! We ended up getting a sandwich at Sranang, which was much better! At least you get help.

The quality of Mini53's food varies. Often it's absolutely excellent, but unfortunately, sometimes it's also terrible.

I loved this place! The peanutsauce was to die for. We sat outside and it was lovely. All the food was amazing. The bread was outstanding.

I came here on a whim and got the saoto soup an fried plantain. It was so delicious! The broth was perfectly seasoned and the yellow salsa added a great spicy kick. Super yummy 😍

Super friendly staff, delicious food. After 9 pm, takeout only. Please mention this on the website. I wasn't in the restaurant myself, but I found it unprofessional of the staff to start cleaning up while people were still eating. They're moving chairs around and constantly checking to see if you've finished your meal. This makes guests feel rushed. You close at 10 pm. Once everyone has left, you start cleaning up. Just a tip, and my opinion.

Go for it without hesitation! A must-try in Rotterdam! I've been having lunch at Warung Mini for over 15 years and I never get tired of it. Whether it's their Saoto soup, their Rôtie, their Baras, or their famous sandwiches (Broodjes), the quality and flavors of Suriname are always there. It's consistently generous, and the welcome is always incredibly warm. If you want to experience the soul of the city, this is definitely the place to go... Enjoy your meal!

We're vegetarians and ordered the Veggie Roti. It was really delicious, and luckily we didn't have to wait, although it was quite busy. The only thing they could improve is the bathroom hygiene, as it was rather dirty, but everything else was amazing. The staff were very helpful too!

The food and apple were cold. After ordering, they heated the satay in the microwave, which made the satay sauce hard and dry. Apparently, they don't sell pork on the menu anymore. Why is it still on the menu? Chairs were pushed back on the table while you were eating, a sign that you should get lost! Such a shame. This used to be a good place! Souto chicken soup was nowhere to be found! Waste of our money. P.S. After complaining that the noodles were cold, we did get a new one to take home because we asked for it. Not nice!

The food has deteriorated significantly. I had chicken noodles and my cousin had saute soup. It was absolutely inedible. We didn't enjoy it at all; the chicken was so tough it had lost its quality. I'll never go back.

I've been a customer at Mini Rotterdam for years and loved coming. When I recently walked in after the reopening, I immediately sensed a negative atmosphere. At the checkout, I was suddenly told there was no more PORK on the menu. That was a shock, because I always order rice and bacon. I understand that changes are sometimes necessary, but not every change is appreciated by customers. I even saw another customer leave because they couldn't get what they always ordered from you. It's a shame that this disappoints regular customers. Unfortunately, I'll be getting my Surinamese meal elsewhere from now on. P.S. I'll miss the lovely staff.

We get food here every week with our office. Friendly staff and above all very tasty food.

Yesterday I bought nasi on King's Day, the food was expensive +50 cents for a plastic bag, nasi was not nasi, there were no vegetables in it, 1 piece of chicken chopped in the middle, 2 pieces of pork and that for 15 euros. The pom sandwich was also unacceptable. More chicken fillet than the pom was so terrible that I threw it in the trash, it was inedible, I will never go there again!!

Just got a bara chicken curry. Order took 20 minutes.. This was downright the worst bara of my life. I opened the package and it was already soaked in oil. I press the bara, was it as crispy as the foil itself?!! The worst thing is that it was completely absorbed with frying fat. Your bara used to be great, but I will never go here again. Just really gross.

Delicious food! On a busy Friday evening, where allocating a seat seemed like quite a task in itself. We looked forward with great anticipation to the orders placed. Well, it exceeded our expectations! Generous portions and delicious taste. The customer friendliness of the staff present made the visit to Warung Mini complete!

Ordered from minibezorgd.nl. After 1.5 hours still nothing. After calling 3 times I finally got someone on the phone. Was then immediately put on hold. When I spoke to the employee, he indicated that the food could only be picked up.

The chicken curry sandwich could not be called a chicken curry sandwich. The chicken was just dry... dry people come onnnn. Expectations were higher! Atmosphere and service was excellent the people are nice though.

Ordered 2 dishes. I had the nasi chicken myself, it was tasty. My wife had a stuffed bara with chicken curry. The bara tasted very strange and not like a real bara, it was more like a kind of oliebol with pulled chicken. There was little taste and my wife had stomach complaints afterwards.

The place offers a great variety of food with many options. If you are not familiar with the dishes or you do not have recommendations,you probably need a lot of time to check the menu. Almost everyone that day took the soup as I did. With the small portion I felt more than satisfied. I would come back to try more dishes! I totally recommend it. The indoor though is quite dark, more for winter days!

Ordered a large saoto soup for 2 people. First of all, I find it disappointing that everything is already in the soup, except the rice. As a Surinamese takeaway shop you have to know that you put everything neatly in a container or bag next to it. Very unfortunate, because it made the bean sprouts very soft and soggy. And then the taste... wow! Really dirty, sorry. I don't know any other word for it. It's so salty that your kidneys will almost burst with misery! I will never order sauto soup from you again, because this is really NOT possible!

AHH I miss Suriname What I wish I could get everything. I got a large bami chicken and a nasi chicken and also the fried yuca with sailfish. This was all very tasty. The bami was tastier than the nasi. The salt fish was okay. Environment This was a rather small restaurant for the busy and popular place! Luckily I was quickly seated as I went and didn't have a wait. Niceness of the staff Very nice staff, explaining the menu to me and also patient with us as we decide on what to order. Dollar It was decently priced, I don't remember. It is the taste that mattered! Yes I would definitely return

Vega Roti was disappointing. Again! Even the Green Beans were tasteless. Potatoes were almost mashed and so on. What a drama tent this has become. Friendly people, but I ate here.

I had never had Surinamese food before, and this blew me away. Everything was delicious! There were plenty of vegetarian options. The tempeh was some of the best I’ve ever tasted. This place is buzzing, and for good reason, so go early.

I'm not one for reviews, but I had to say this. Warung mini has deteriorated a lot and the food is no longer what it used to be. I couldn't even enjoy my salt meat sandwich. The salt meat was tough and difficult to chew. And I couldn't enjoy it with roasted chicken either. Too bad about this.

Never had such a bad salt meat, tjauwmin moksi meti and bakabana sandwich before. Salt meat was dry, tough, hard! Tjauwmin mosksi meti didn't taste right at all. And speaking of the bakabana... it can be quite annoying... hard and tough.
