Best scampi sandwich in the world, hallelujah

The food was delicious, and we even got extras without even asking. That was great because I was sick; there weren't many people there, and the service was fast. I was only there for takeout, so I can't quite give the service a 3-star rating, but we go there often and have always enjoyed it.

For about 20 years, everyone from our family who comes to Rotterdam has had to get food from Fafi. We live in Hoorn, which is an 80 km drive. I get a standard order: an extra large tjauw min with cha-sjieuw (a bit extra, but no problem). One large saoto soup and two hot meat sandwiches, sometimes a bakkabana peanut. Yesterday my son was working in Rotterdam until quite late, 9 pm. But we still got Mom's favorite meal. One large tjauw min with cha-sjieuw, a small bowl of gravy, and one hot meat sandwich. He and his girlfriend also got four sandwiches. The young man behind the counter repeated his order, so I think he understood. 80km home and Mom out of bed to give her a warm welcome to her hot meat sandwich. What a disappointment! Truly inedible and instead of... Cha-sjieuw, a bowl of dry, pale chicken in what looked like curry sauce—tasteless!! No gravy, and the tjauw, minus unfilled, pale strings. This has destroyed a long-standing family tradition in one fell swoop. Where is the chef from a few years ago? Where are the real Surinamese who made this place a success? I bet it won't be long before they're ruined, and they'll have only themselves to blame. Never again!! Very sad.

The food has become just as empty and lackluster as the place used to be. It's a shame. The chicken curry rolls used to be delicious, but now they're tasteless and empty, and I think three bites and it's all gone. A huge disappointment. Oh, and a tip: usually when someone comes into your restaurant, they want to be helped. Don't wait a few minutes for someone to finally come from behind.

The food was hot and delivered on time. Unfortunately, it tastes awful. It was better when they had a rat infestation. Supermarket shrimp instead of Chinese shrimp. Tasteless and disappointing. Everything used to be better, including food.

The guy doesn't even look at you. He says the minimum number of words and then puts the wrong thing on your sandwich. Man, oh man.

What a place. You order on Friday night at half past nine at night. 2 hours later still nothing. You call, no one answers. Bunch of jokers. I'll definitely order somewhere else next time.

Fafi a total disappointment in terms of food, that people still eat here is a mystery to me or you must be starving after a night out and compulsively eat there because the other nice real eateries on the Witte are closed. Turkish Surinamese food or something like that I can't make more of it, by the way I really like Turkish food so actually my exercise is not right but take the rotti now, a plate of tasteless chicken fillet floating in a mushy cornstarch sauce with some potatoes and stuff underneath brrrr this is really disgusting and has nothing to do with Surinamese roti and believe me I know about it! Then the cod, a slurry made with a kind of tomato sauce, the moksi meti was insignificantly tasteless and downright worthless in terms of taste. This restaurant should be closed down immediately and they should learn to cook real Surinamese dishes because this makes no sense, what a fiasco how dare they bear the name of Surinamese restaurant I have not seen a single Surinamese in the kitchen or in the service! A total food flop, the fried casava was a bright spot but as a foodie never again to Fafi, this one is not coming to my fafirites!

The food is ok but the ambiance and service is a bit sad. Now renovated it looks a lot better.

Bad experience - never again! I ordered food from Fafi at 21:30 and after waiting for more than two hours (it was already 23:30) I still had not received anything. I tried calling them at least five times, but no one answered. Bad service, no communication at all, I really do not recommend anyone to order from here. Waste of time and money.

It has really become a very bad place. That you still have customers

Nasi and tjowmin ordered were not eatable, went straight into the trash. Tasteless and the containers were not microwave safe, completely shrunk without a lid. Never order from here again and demand my money back

Guy tried to scam me by charging me for more. Did give money back when I asked. But still bad service.

Open till late,ok to get a quick plate of Surinamese cooked food. Basic no frills. Fairly fast served

The food was discussing. I was hungry after waiting for an hour and couldn’t eat more than 2 forks.

Just got a chicken curry sandwich because I was freaking out and had to eat something quickly. It's exactly what people say. Don't just go in somewhere to eat.... Chicken curry sandwich is 4.20 and the curry is hard to find! Except that the chicken is yellow from the curry... It also has a sour taste and that is not due to the cucumber being sour, but due to a certain taste in the meat. The guy behind the cash register doesn't bother to look at the customer either. So it's a nice atmosphere. Really horrible and a waste of money!

Don't expect atmosphere, but the food is excellent.

Extra portion for +2 € turned out to fill two plates. Good deal. Value for money.

Besides ordering sandwiches, the rest of the orders come from an elevator that they prepare for customers elsewhere. Unfortunately, you can't see how these people prepare the dishes for customers. This also explains why the food you order is INEDIBLE !!!!! I don't understand how this place is still open!!!! The Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) really has to visit this store several times!!!! Is there a shortage of staff at the NVWA?? Too bizarre for words!!!

Not normal. I ordered roti chicken yesterday but I think I got puke on my plate. Just look at the pictures and you will see what I mean. Gross stuff.

Very nice food and very nice service. Since the renovation a few years ago it is also a really neat place with comfortable chairs.

We ended up here by chance and wow, what a delicious meal we had. The fried banana with peanut sauce. The satay, Roti chicken fillet everything was tasty. Will definitely come back here. And super nice service.

I was not impressed. The Roti had a bland taste and everything was mixed up in one container. A few pieces of long beans, half of which are tough and rock hard. Babi Pangang was terribly tough. Cannot be chewed. The noodles were bone dry and there was really nothing in them. Below all standards. If you're hungry at night after going out, it's a great place; you don't taste much anyway. But for your food during the day I would go about three doors further.

Big Portions of Food, Not the best quality but good Prices, go there if you‘re really hungry or drunk! Udon noodles were good!

Great restaurant located in the city center, the decor isn't great but we don't come there for that; the food is good, the portions are generous, however the menu is in Dutch only so if you don't speak Dutch, it's difficult to know what you are ordering, fortunately they also speak English and can give you information. A menu card in English would do the trick in any case.

We ate a few sandwiches here, a Dynamite sandwich and a baked cod sandwich. The taste is okay, nothing to write home about. I would have liked it to be a little spicier. And the curry chicken was of course not a real curry chicken but more of a Dutch version of curry chicken. I liked the bakeljauw sandwich better if they had made the bakeljauw a little coarser, then it would have tasted even better. So if you are really hungry or under the influence. Then it's best to get a sandwich here 😎

Wonderfully fresh, clean and hygienic.

Got roti with chicken fillet here, chicken was still pink and the roti itself had no taste. And also had to wait a long time. Too bad, especially for the price.

Super generous portion, very friendly service, the only thing is that they didn't have a menu in other languages, at least in English... Otherwise, I recommend them 100%!

What a filthy dirty place. Got Bara bakkeljauw. Got food poisoning and was sick for 4 days. Never again to this place.

Brah, the food has seriously deteriorated. What happened here then? With that renovation the taste has deteriorated considerably. Plus they do kaolo stingy with those buns. I pay 8 euros for 2 sandwiches, but they only fill it half way. Like, don't be so stingy, right?

They used to be tasty... But since the renovation, the food has deteriorated. Roasted chicken, the chicken is inedible. Not fresh, rice is too soft.

Nice interior, but tables were dirty. Dawet is absolutely not recommended, it tasted like raspberries.. Sandwiches are expensive at 5 euros.

I ordered a bowl of Chicken Curry for 13.50 euros but it was only half full, for 13.50 you can buy more than 1.5 kilos of chicken so they are a bit stingy there.

Dirty food. I would absolutely not place an order with this tent. Sandwich came straight from the fridge and was then warmed up in the microwave.

After waiting 1.45 hours (Ordered via Uber) I drove by myself, asking when it would be delivered, well it still had to be made, no apology from the staff yet.

Got a chicken curry sandwich today after their renovation. Unfortunately it was disappointing. Chicken was tender but little curry. Tasted quite bland

Roti came without roti plate. Roti was tasteless, without sauce, little to no vegetables. The Udon was more other things than Udon itself. Moksi meti Tjauw Min drier than the bottom of my shoe. When I repeatedly call the restaurant in question, there is no answer. My mother has diarrhea half an hour after eating

Compleet vernieuwde zaak die er nu gestyled uitziet. Vroeger was het hier rommelig en smoezelig. Nu is het design. Eten is er voor de prijs zeker prima en door de grote ramen heb je mooi zicht op buiten.

eten was lekker en snel, vlees is goed mals en grote portie. enige jammere is dat het iets te duur is vind ik, 16 euro voor mihoen met rundvlees.

Mooi verbouwd en eten smaakt goed. Snelle service. Schoon toilet.

Nasi vond ik niet zo bijzonder, sate en de saus ook niet echt... Sauto was lekker, en in een grote kom geleverd... Sfeer was een beetje rommelig, en je werd niet meteen geholpen.. ik dacht je zit en iemand komt een menu kaart brengen... Aangezien niemand wat zei. Heb ik maar eten besteld bij de counter en ben toen weer gaan zitten.. slechte service... Huur dan iemand extra erbij ofzo... Al met al zie ik geen reden om nog een keer hier te komen. Caribi in Schiedam is nog steeds mijn aanrader

Lekker eten voor een goede prijs met veel volume

Zaak is mooi geworden en ben vriendelijk geholpen. Echter was het eten (broodje kipkerrie) redelijk flauw. Broodje was wel goed belegd maar zelfs met sambal beetje flauw/smaakloos. Prijs is keurig en mensen die niet van spicy houden kunnen de broodjes vast erg waarderen.
