Roopram Roti Rotterdam in Delfshaven

The last time I was here was almost two years ago, and I was very disappointed. Prices were constantly rising and portions were getting smaller. I tried again this week, but unfortunately, there was no improvement. Prices were higher again, and portions were even smaller. I ordered a roti roll with chicken, long beans, and potatoes. It no longer had the yellow pea filling, but a very small amount of long beans, potato, and two small pieces of chicken. A roti roll was rolled up into a thick piece of "dough," and all that for €12. That's a very expensive rolled-up plain roti, very disappointing. Combined with the disappointing taste, it was a waste of money; you really can't fill your stomach with this.

Today, around 7:30 PM, I bought three chicken rotis and took them home. I got home because I couldn't wait any longer! I opened the package and, yes, there was so little sauce (soerwa) in it, I was completely surprised. How on earth can you eat such a large roti with so little sauce, Lady WITH THE GLASSES??? You really can't do that, I'm deeply disappointed😣. You don't want to know what I ate... the food was just delicious, that's for sure. If you pay for it, you should get enough. I heard that woman on the phone earlier saying they need meat, but then you have to wait for it if there isn't enough at that moment... it doesn't cost you anything, but please don't do this to the customer!!!!! This is terrible!

The chicken in my roti was dry and there was no sauce, which is what makes their roti so delicious.

The food is usually okay. But the last two times it's been terrible. I ordered roti with extra chicken, and all I got was bone and bare pieces of back/rib. A total of 3 tablespoons of meat. Probably leftover Delftware. It was also saltier than usual. Not for a while.

Delicious traditional chicken curry and roti, wonderfully tender and super juicy. The peppers are just right. You'll sweat if you add some extra heat. It's also a great location to enjoy your chicken curry sandwich in the restaurant, overlooking the water or the bustling square. Parking nearby can be a bit tricky during peak hours, but so far, there's always been a spot. I also saw many other delicious dishes that customers seem to be enjoying. So we'll definitely be back to try other dishes. And, of course, to take the roti away again.

I had a delicious chicken roti here; the meat was very tender and the roti itself was delicious. The ginger beer was nicely spicy, as was the sambal. The atmosphere isn't great, but the food more than makes up for it 100%.

First of all, the staff were not customer-friendly at all. The woman at the cash register looked at us with disinterest, and I quickly felt like a bad influence. Indicated in advance that I would write a review about my choice from the menu. I don't come to the West that often and I have eaten at Roopram's a few times, but that was years ago. I thought I would give it a try. Ordered roti chicken with chicken liver with an extra roti plate, because I was getting hungry. It said that after 19:30 only pick-up was possible (the store was empty, probably because of all the bad reviews I am reading now). -My order was sealed, but I opened it outside right away to eat it. The food was almost cold!!! -The food was very poorly divided, namely a lot of chicken liver and only 2 cubes of chicken fillet, -mega little potato with garter!!! Greedy and lazy to make more for sure!! -Roti is machine-made, they admit that in the store. "Haa beta hum bhoeria hoygayli, kahan hum itna roti banai sakila?" If a roti is so poorly filled and wafer-thin, then it can't be called roti!!! I am used to some roti in my life, but take-away roti remains very difficult to get a real traditional well-filled roti. And nowadays you don't get home-made roti anymore when you are invited to a wedding according to the Hindu rites, all catering fuss. Too bad!! This makes it, that the price and quality ratio are poorly matched. As far as I'm concerned, this place can close down and close!!

If you want to taste authentic Surinamese roti with chicken, you should go to Roopram's. There you can taste how the Hindustani ancestors originally prepared it: with chicken on the bone. Chicken fillet was only added later, adapted to the Dutch preference. Of course, there are also other tasty dishes on the menu. Enjoy your meal - or as they say in Suriname: jang switi! However, I think the prices are about 15% too high, and you see that in almost all restaurants these days. If a restaurant really wants to achieve a high turnover, more attention must be paid to affordability. Otherwise, customers will eventually stay away. So, take advantage of this tip.

Ordered online in the afternoon. Unfortunately they were too late. Called and delivery person was on his way. More than 45 minutes late. Food was lukewarm. Taste was good. An hour later we were called with an apology and were offered two new meals for free. It wasn't necessary, but he wanted everyone to be happy. Today these two meals were delivered including banana chips and even a third meal! Top service! And we enjoy a delicious roti chicken fillet again.

But we don't have to get salt poisoning.... Roopram no longer lives up to its name... The only thing Hindustanis are good at is making money with less quality... And I regret that I paid 36 euros.... Ordered 2 portions, the same evening both me and my girlfriend got food poisoning. Outrageously bad. The portions were even vegetarian, so there is something seriously wrong with hygiene.

Yesterday I came to get chicken fillet with roti... the food was so salty... I better cook the potato with long beans. And not to mention unfriendly staff. I don't normally write reviews, but this restaurant made me want to leave a negative review. After a long day of hard work you expect a decent meal for €12.50, but both the food and the service were far below par. As for the food: I ordered Roti with chicken, potatoes and green beans for €12.50, and what I got was downright disappointing. An oversized pancake, soaked in sauce, and when I opened the package I literally found one mashed potato, six or seven green beans and 2.5 small chicken feet. Far too few potatoes and vegetables to make up the pancake, and far too much sauce. The meal consisted of only three or four bites and after that there was nothing left but a wet pancake and a surplus of sauce. As for the service: the employees seemed emotionless and anything but friendly. One straight face, without any form of customer friendliness. My advice: Rotterdam has plenty of alternatives. Make a little effort and walk to another Indian, Chinese or Surinamese restaurant for a better meal and service.

Laid back diner style restaurant, great to grab a quick bite to eat. Was recommended by a friend to visit here on our trip to Amsterdam and I’m glad we made time to visit, the food was full of flavour and would love to visit again if I return to Rotterdam!

This place never dissapoints. I always get my Roti here. I haven't been in a while and the Roti tastes a bit spicier than I can remember. Before my son would also be able to eat it, but now it's too spicy for a young kid. Usually I order online, but unfortunately this time it wasn't possible to order online or through the phone.

At first I didn't want to post a review about the taste of the food. But I don't understand some of the comments about how tasty this roti is. So I would like to warn people about what I experienced. What I received on a Saturday evening two weeks ago cannot be called roti. I had high expectations from a household name like RoopRam, but unfortunately it was a big disappointment. The roti chicken fillet had large pieces of dry chicken that could only be removed with a sip of cola and the chicken was also very pale in color. As if it had only been added to the dish at the end. Furthermore, I also thought it was a very poor quality roti plate. But the worst part was that I was stupid enough to continue eating this dish. I got serious food poisoning from it and was very ill for over a week. Apparently hygiene in the kitchen is sometimes lacking. I have also reported this to the Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority. So be warned.

We need to work on customer friendliness from the counter. At least a "Good afternoon"

Cuisine surinamienne correcte. Service rapide, bonne qualité et personnel accueillant (alors qu'il y avait beaucoup de client et en même temps plusieurs commande par téléphone). Prix correct. La décoration est très minimaliste, mais l'endroit est propre. Ce n'est pas une gastronomie de haut niveau mais une bonne alternative pour un lunch sympa.

This Roopram roti shop never disappoints. What a pleasure it is every time. This time we had a roti chicken and it tasted good and fresh. Also delicious with the pepper. We also had a separate container of doks and a separate container of lamb for variety. You immediately noticed that it was wonderfully fresh and prepared with passion. Other masala is also used than for the chicken dishes. Namely slightly stronger/spicier. I love that very much. The meat was stewed well and for a long time, making it wonderfully tender. Prices have gone up. But the taste deteriorated. We also got lukewarm chicken, vegetables and potatoes. So not fresh. The roti only tastes like flour and you have to look for the filling with a magnifying glass. You can taste that it is no longer made with love. Pure mass production. No more Roopram for me!

Unfortunately the spring rolls and samosas come from the microwave, other dishes are tasty. This was compensated with 2x baras, because they did not want to give any money back, while I am entitled to it.

Roopram has the reputation of being THE best roti shop in the Netherlands. Perhaps the most famous, but this place has lost a lot of quality in recent years! Not that it will stop people from continuing to visit Roopram. There is usually a long queue here on weekends. Roopram owes this purely to the beautiful location on the Mathernesser Bridge and to the reputation of the past In short: this business runs purely on autopilot. Converting as much as possible in a loveless manner purely based on location, efficiency and reputation. For lovers of really tasty Surinamese food, there are so many better and affordable alternatives in the area

Vandaag was mijn eerste roopram roti afgehaald .. Het smaak viel tegen kousenband was smakeloos en de aardappels waren over cooked . Ik zou niet nog een keer afhalen omdat de smaak niet zo bijzonder is. En dan de prijs vind ik niet waard voor een over cooked aardappels en smakeloos kousenband. De roti was wel zacht maar ook smakeloos. Maar over smaak valt er niet te twisten. Het is wat je gewend bent.

I must express my frustration with the recent experience I had with this eatery. Last Saturday I placed an order for roti chicken and egg, along with extra rice with chicken. To my disappointment, only the roti chicken and egg dish was delivered and the extra rice with chicken was missing. Despite repeated attempts to contact me, I was unable to reach them. It wasn't until the next day that I finally managed to get someone on the phone, but to my surprise I was told that the problem was with Uber and that I should complain there. Ordered 2 x large roti lamb. We get 2 small portions and they are only half full. I have always been satisfied in the past, but this was really bad. Called Roopram, who refers to the delivery person and indicates that the delivery person is the manager. Delivery manager? I'm hearing that for the first time. The delivery person calls us back and speaks to us politely, but indicates that he only delivers and does not discuss this. So you are sent from pillar to post. After this I called Roopram again and indicated that this was not the issue. Very customer friendly too! Delivery person calls back but can't do anything for us. This is unbelievable! Then you could say goodbye to your crockery. Where were you supposed to put the food on? On my lap? Fine then, my pants had to go in the wash tonight anyway. The biggest problem was the egg. The egg was like rubber, I couldn't separate the egg just like the relationship between my parents. Unfortunately, I couldn't cut the egg because it was slippery, so I popped the egg into my mouth. That turned out to be a huge mistake! The moment I wanted to chew the egg, it launched straight into my throat! Never in my life did I think I could ever be choked by an egg. What a cannonball! I tried to cough as much as I could to get the egg out of my throat, but thanks to the slipperiness, it just fell down my throat. The moment it hit my stomach, so young, it looked like a boulder! Since when does an egg weigh 80 kilos when it falls? It felt like a zucchini was kicked in my butt. Now I suffer from constipation! What a horror in this Vietnamese butcher shop. That I feel even more sorry for an animal torturer than Vietnam.
