She really needs to make it 21+ again for the nightlife; the crowd is way too young like this. It used to be 100 times better.

The food was delicious and plentiful. The atmosphere is a mix of club and restaurant; very large, but clean and well-furnished. The staff was friendly and very efficient. Special thanks to Robin; he went out of his way to help.

And inside, super artistic with vibrant colors. Still that classic restaurant/bistro feel and the buzz you're used to, and the service and food remain just as good. But the aesthetics have definitely improved with the colorful fake flowers, posters, the deep sea-blue wall, and all kinds of ladies serving. Everything light up with a woman’s touch haha🪄✨ Enjoy your meal here! The chai latte here is truly heavenly (better than the pumpkin spice tbh)

We thought we'd have a nice lunch. After walking in, we had to approach a staff member to be seated. After 20 minutes of being ignored and our gazes being avoided, someone finally came and helped us. It didn't help that three couples sitting next to us had already been helped and served. We ordered tea and coke and asked for lunch menus. Twenty minutes later, the tea and coke arrived, but after sitting there for an hour, we still hadn't seen the menus. After that, we gave up and went to the cash register, where we still had to wait to pay. We expressed our regret that we still hadn't seen a menu after an hour, but they didn't even acknowledge it. The only positive was a staff member who only brought us food and drinks. He sweetly wished us a loving evening and afternoon, in a Valentine's Day-themed way. They need more staff like this guy.

What can you say about two croquettes on bread? The bread was very plain and not fresh/dry, as if it had been cut and left open for hours. I didn't like the mustard. The fries were very tasty.

I lost my coat. After calling to see if it had been found, they said they didn't have time to look and that I had to come by myself. When I finally did, I was told they didn't have time to help me or show me where the coats were. I told them they had asked me to come by. Then they told me to just wait. After waiting 15 minutes, they just carried on with other things while they kept walking past me. So I decided to come back the next day. I just got grumpy looks and super poor help. Really not recommended!

We enjoy having a drink or two, perhaps with some snacks. The heated terrace is cozy and inviting. Sheepskins and blankets are available. Friendly staff.

We ate at Mojo's again after a long time. We'd lost interest after the recent takeover, which had a negative impact on the service and food selection. We were pleasantly surprised: lots of new, excellent staff, a new menu with good choices and excellent quality. We live around the corner and will be regulars again. Well done, Mojo's!

The service is terrible; I waited half an hour before being offered a drink. New customers were helped first. And they looked at me in surprise when I asked if I could order something!

Very mediocre. I received the wrong pastry, which was exchanged, but that took so long that I'd already finished my coffee. Then it turned out my pastry was frozen. We mentioned it when we paid, which I should have done sooner, of course, but oh well, I thought, it'll be a full day before I get anything... And then you can offer some kind of apology, but they just smiled rather stupidly. My old pastry was still on the bar. Furthermore, the prices don't match the menu: the changing pastry was supposed to cost €5 but turned out to be €6.50. Whipped cream wasn't €0.75 but €1.00. Expensive frozen pastry. The best I can say is that the coffee was good.

A very nice restaurant in a prime location. Friendly and organized service. No long waits, whether for food or drinks. The food is top-quality and creative. We've been there several times and would go again.

We ordered 200 euros worth of food and drinks and we were not allowed to use the toilet. The service was good, especially Jordi, but for the rest I would go to the neighbors, they were antisocial and very rude at the toilet.

The waiter was nice buy my burger took forever. The burger and fries were nice, but the burger patty had a strange texture not like ground beef. We had a lot of Heinekens and for the appetizer we had a nice plate with various Dutch snacks. That was good. The location is very nice, right along the canal with other nice restaurants and cafes.

Incredibly poor service! After our table containing three drinks was knocked over by seagulls, we received no help, even though the entire terrace witnessed it. After 10 minutes, we had to ask for tissues and report that our glasses were broken. Finally, we had to pay for all three drinks and again had to report that there was glass on the floor.

What a terrible place this has become! We've been going to Mojo's for over 10 years; it used to be good, but now the service is downright terrible. We sat on the patio where three men and women were walking around. They completely ignored us and did their best not to notice us. They were more occupied with each other than with the customers on the patio. After several attempts to contact the staff, we gave up and, after sitting at a table for 20 minutes for nothing, left for another patio on the same square where we received excellent service and enjoyed a delicious meal and drinks. What a low point for the Dutch hospitality industry! Never again!

Since the new owners took over, things have gone downhill. The service is terrible, and they simply leave glasses and plates behind. The rib-eye sandwich was truly awful. A dry focaccia roll with a well-done piece of meat. It didn't even resemble rib-eye. The iced coffee was spoiled, so logically, I returned it to the staff. From the moment I left, I got sick. I got food poisoning. I'm absolutely never going back there.

Worse place of Alkmaar, bad service and manners of all employees..The management needs to have some education about customer service !!

Food is very expensive. But we had a great laugh. I ordered extra satay sauce with the satay. The service came walking with a bowl as small as a tablespoon of satay sauce. In which you could just dip 3 fries. Service is nice but what they serve is getting less and more expensive.

The last 2 times here on a quiet weekday, incredibly disappointed with the service. 9 tables occupied on the terrace, all empty glasses except the one under the awning while there are 3 men behind the bar inside. Last time sat for 10 minutes without being able to place an order. Always was a nice place, very unfortunate..

Wrongly accused of throwing food at seagulls by the waiter, while it was the table behind us. We have been treated very badly. Food we got was cold... This is not how you treat customers. What should have been a nice afternoon was a ruined afternoon thanks to the waiter.

Because of the nice weather we visited the terrace in the always nice Alkmaar. Since all terraces are connected to each other, you have to find out who you are sitting with. In this case Mojo's. The Waagplein is super cozy and very busy. We had a burrata salad and 2 slices of bread with a croquette, the salad was okay, not special and the croquettes had little taste, just like the mustard mayonnaise. A small bowl of fries for 5.90 is far too expensive. All in all lunch 3 people and 2 drinks 75 euros...

How bad this has gotten. Has deteriorated enormously. We liked to come here for lunch, but what they serve now is a complete scam. 2 dry slices of bread with the carpaccio and chicken that come straight from Aldi. BUTT DRY!!! Totally misplaced. We gave it back and skipped lunch. Our son, who had a forcaccia sandwich for 8.90, was also very dry!! We heard from the employees that there is a new owner, I hope that person reads this! Do something about it!! What is being served now is no longer at all in relation to price and quality.

Became a children's tent. The owner probably doesn't understand that he sells twice as many drinks with a target group of 23-35. Now 20-year-old girls who order a drink a night. Different target group and special events every month can make this tent successful again. Good luck

In previous years we always had a nice meal, both inside and on the terrace. Now that the sun was shining, we sat down on the terrace again. Unfortunately it took a while and several times to make contact before we received a menu. A radler was served with a moldy label (not entirely attractive). We didn't think the Philly steak that falls under the 'specials' was really special. Two sandwiches with a slice of ribeye in between, for which you pay almost €15. Club sandwich is always a good choice. All in all, not what we were used to from Mojo's. Shame! Maybe next time we'll look for a place somewhere else.

Bunch of scammers! Price-quality ratio is really terrible... they only serve casino bread with a few slices of something for which you then pay top price. Don't eat there!

Vriend van me slaat tegen de lamp aan, word vervolgens na 1! Waarschuwing uit het pand gezet. Daarna omdat beveiliging en medewerkers getuigen beboet omdat vermeende lamp kabelbreuk had. Na opvragen camera beelden die niet gegeven werden wel onder druk gezet om de boete te betalen door medewerking van de politie. Al met al machtsmisbruik door beveiliging en politie terwijl er geen officieel bewijs geleverd is.

On a Thursday evening, my mother and I went to Mojo's for the first time. It was pleasantly busy, but luckily we found a seat at a round table. Someone immediately came to clean the table—always a good start! We opted for shared dining: various small dishes, one by one delicious. For dessert we chose the lava cake, but unfortunately it was disappointing—a bit too dry. The only miss of the evening. The service was friendly and attentive, and my mother was so excited that she immediately found a new favorite restaurant!

Been to Mojo's many times. Had some coffee this afternoon. Spoon on the floor, napkin, beer mat..... staff walks past/over it all the time. No one picks anything up for 45 minutes. Fewer seats than there were... people were disappointed... No more seats at the bar. Staff impersonal...shame.

The atmosphere: there was chewing gum under the table, there were tears in the upholstery on the couch and there were cobwebs. The focaccia was on the dry side. I ordered tea and received a tin with bags, half of which were Jumbo house brand star mint (if I had wanted mint tea, I would have ordered tea with fresh mint), a few bags of Pickwick Rooibos and a few more house brand fruit flavors. Very disappointing for a restaurant

Every time I’ve been to this place it has been amazing. The service is amazing and the staff is kind. In my experience the waiting times are short and they often check if you need anything. I’m a picky eater but there is still multiple things they have that I liked. 10/10 would recommend.

We had dinner there with 4 people, we order the daily menu at 6 p.m. and then there was NOTHING very bad anymore, we ate something else but that was not tasty 🤮. All in all, NOT recommended to eat here.

The new map is unfortunately a big disappointment. Many beloved dishes have disappeared, the very ones that so characterized the quality of Mojo's. The added shared dishes may be commercially interesting, but the odd numbers make sharing difficult. The delicious garlic bread, a favorite starter, is also now missing. It's a shame that, after many pleasant moments, we have to look for a new favorite place in Alkmaar. Hopefully Mojo's will one day return to the quality of a few weeks ago!

Great new menu with a tasty variety, the fries are deliciously fried here and everything is beautifully served. Very cheerful staff and nice music they play for a nice and cozy atmosphere. Definitely recommended!

A new menu since last week, but what a disappointment. The fantastic spareribs are off the menu and only available as a starter at 16 euros for 4 strips in a small bowl, which they suddenly call fine-dining. The daily menu 'entrecote' was presented at the table but was suddenly sold out at 7 p.m. Our guest asked for a 'youngster' and the waitress had written down a Yoki drink, apparently with no experience or lack of guidance. This lady also cheerfully chatted about her colleagues ... at the end we lost almost 80 euros per person, but we were still hungry and had a bad experience richer. Not worth repeating for us as our guests. We say goodbye to Mojo's Alkmaar.

Price and quality ratio is hard to find. We regularly come here for lunch. Always been pretty good. Now yesterday 2 dry rolls with a croquette without garnish for €10.90 with a very small bowl of half-cold hard fries for €5.90. The cook probably didn't feel like his working day. Shame! It is not recommended to find better restaurants for lunch that focus on their price and quality ratio.

Nice spot on the Waagplein. We really like coming here. Good menu with drinks and delicious dishes. Today we were able to sit on the terrace (under the heaters) and we had the nacho with pulled chicken and the hot mixed with a nice glass of wine.

Mojo's looks attractive and we would like to eat something delicious in a pleasant environment. To my great surprise, I found one of my favorite white wines on the wine list. I asked the waiter if it was in stock, because if it was, I wouldn't order the nachos (they don't fit), but something else. He said the wine was there and so I ordered bruschetta and patatas bravas. Then the wine came and it was completely different. The waiter and his colleague were completely surprised (yes, there was Pinot Gris on the label too, but that was the only thing they had in common. The employees don't have the most basic idea about wine). So we said we would reconsider. After 5 minutes we said that we didn't want wine and would stick to the water ("we'll stick to the water"), but that I would change my order and take nachos. Next the waitress came, brought the 'substitute wine' and opened the bottle. It took a minute for her to understand that we didn't want wine (I speak English well, that's my working language). Next came the bruschetta. I ordered bruschetta and patatas, but the service doesn't seem to understand anything or mixes everything up. Then came - at least - not the patatas, but the nachos. Without the guacamole ordered with it. With lots of melted cheese and cheese dip. Without cutlery, without napkins. However, the patatas that were not ordered and not delivered were charged for, which I unfortunately only noticed at the hotel. Service: So catastrophic that I have to advise against visiting the restaurant.

Yesterday we had to wait a super long time for our food + drinks or even for someone to come and help us. One Britt found it quite necessary to gossip about other colleagues all evening, which was also shared by all the guests around him. Then her colleague came who had to deal with 4 boys who were not of Dutch descent, which she did not feel like dealing with; 'Jesus he only tipped 1.20'. We thought it was so antisocial to hear this, which more customers also heard. We thought we would have a nice meal here, but the atmosphere was really bad. Fortunately, other guests also agreed. A super sweet boy in the service, that was the only positive. Maybe a nice place to have a drink, but we won't be coming back here anytime soon to go out for a nice meal.

We sat down in the restaurant. We had to draw attention to ourselves so we could order something. The food is a straight 5. Super delicious food. The sanitary facilities are on the first floor. Dear reader, Last May 25, I went to Mojo's in Alkmaar with a number of colleagues. This was our first time at Mojo's. The outside of the building looks nice, but don't let yourself be fooled! From moment 1 after arrival we were actually approached without respect. The waiter picked his nose several times and avoided eye contact at all costs, but we found this very unprofessional. However, we decided not to say anything about this to keep ourselves quiet. Until suddenly the main course was in front of us, then the monkey really came out of the mouth. Our steak tartare was made from minced meat and rotten parsley. This was quite shocking. This is how the toilet became my temporary accommodation, instead of our rented apartment. My female colleague has become incontinent due to this accident, do you have any idea what this is? Me neither, before my visit to Mojo's. However, you will receive the relevant star because of the beautifully tapped gold and yellow rascals! Sorry for my honesty. But this tent couldn't cut through the curve. Greetings from Ameland!

Tastiest nachos cheese pulled chicken ever eaten 😍 definitely recommended and you get a large portion. Person is friendly and we didn't have to wait long.

We ordered two croquette sandwiches just before 12:00. At 12:30 we still had nothing and asked where it was. They indicated that there were problems in the kitchen but it was coming. Fine, it would be nice if they had indicated it right away and we didn't have to ask for it ourselves. After fifteen minutes it was still not there. The cappuccino we ordered was still not there. We were pretty fed up with it so decided to pay and cancel the order. Once we had done this, the two sandwiches arrived. These were then taken back. If they had any class they would have just passed this up. In any case, don't go here again.

I asked for a bouncer, but the egg had no runny yolk. Service and atmosphere were nice. Location is also good. Unfortunately they had no place outside.

On our first visit with our four-legged friends we were warmly welcomed and given a table that was very suitable for the dogs. They were also given water right away, which makes you happy. Onwijs leuke tent, heel veel plezier gehad sinds 2 jaar, wat ons alleen heel erg tegen viel was dat wij vanavond heel slecht behandeld zijn. Rezzan is totaal niet klantvriendelijk, heel arrogant, dit meisje weet totaal niet hoe zij met klanten om moet gaan. Als iets haar niet zint verzint ze een verhaal en word je hardhandig de club uitgezet. Heel erg jammer na zulke leuke ervaringen, na dit zullen wij niet meer terug komen naar deze plek. Tegen over het andere personeel niet eerlijk, want die zijn daar in tegen altijd super voor hun klanten.

Went for lunch in Alkmaar this afternoon, our choice fell on mojos. The service came quite quickly. Recorded everything in one take. Mint tea, cappuccino and 2 smoothies, chicken sandwich and pulled chicken sandwich. The smoothies were for dinner, but that's it. After less than 10 minutes the food arrived 😳 I understand this speed. Pulled chicken and the breaded/fried chicken tenders are probably ready under a heat lamp... what it tasted like... no idea, but my pulled chicken was so mixed with some herbs that the taste was nothing like it. When we were almost done eating, both drinks arrived... So the cappuccino and mint tea was our dessert instead of waiting for our food with these drinks The response from the staff was that it was due to a shortage of staff. Strange, there is no vacancy for service on the site. However, a chef was asked. It was also equally dusty everywhere. No, we don't come here anymore.

My night out was really ruined here, expecting a nice evening on Friday, it's 18+ here, it seemed like a lot of fun to me, well no, first you have to get through a crowd to hang up your coat. Then you stand in line for half an hour to hang up your coat because the lady there is so incredibly slow, then you have to pay to go to the toilet. You hope to enjoy yourself, no, a shot costs €5 and there was no room to move. I must say that the staff behind the bar really try their best, and the music was good. I was done with it because I couldn't make any movement and everyone was standing on my feet. I pick up my coat, no, this takes another half hour, I stand there and explain, then my coat hangs together with my friend's coat and she stayed for a while. She didn't understand anything and she made me hang up my coat with her coat, which I didn't want to do. She becomes mean to me because she did not understand my explanation of what a slow, mean person this is. This was my last evening in Mojo's and all this took me an hour and a half. I recommend perhaps allowing fewer people inside, full is full.
