Mondial Fish Centrum in Utrecht is a fantastic spot if you love fresh seafood. They offer a huge variety of fish that can be prepared grilled or fried to order, whether you're dining in or taking it home. The quality is consistently high, the fish is always fresh, and the pricing is very reasonable for what you get. The staff is also super helpful and friendly! The only real downside is the ventilation. The restaurant itself is clean, but the ventilation just isn't strong enough, you will definitely end up smelling like cooked fish whether you eat inside or just stand around waiting for a takeaway order. Still, highly recommended for the quality and value!

I used to come here more often and thought it was much better back then. The fish was prepared better, had more flavor, and was nice and crispy. Lately, the quality has clearly declined. I would avoid this place, especially when it's busy. The fish is fried quickly then and is mainly greasy.

I recently dined at this fish restaurant in Utrecht and I am very satisfied with my experience. The food was of high quality – everything was fresh and well prepared, exactly what you would hope for at a fish restaurant. The atmosphere in the restaurant was also very pleasant: cozy, relaxed, and inviting. You immediately feel at ease there. What really tops it off is the service. The staff is friendly, helpful, and clearly customer-focused. That makes the whole picture complete. Definitely recommended for anyone who loves good fish!

I can't believe I see so many 1-star reviews. I think it's a really good fish shop! I sometimes come here with my mother and we are both always very satisfied. The staff is friendly and helpful and the fish always tastes good. I would definitely eat here sometime if you are in the area and happen to be in the mood for fish! 👌😋🍤

Never again! The fish was cold and tasteless. I agreed to pick it up at 5 p.m. When I picked it up at the agreed-upon time, they hadn't prepared anything, and I had to wait two hours! Terrible!

I've read a few reviews and agree that sometimes they serve people outside the queue, manipulate the scales, and mix old items. On my first visit, I ordered takeout and was pleasantly surprised. Despite the stench in the restaurant and surrounding area, the fish was tasty and substantial. On my second visit, I ate it in-house and it was quite the opposite. The fish weighed in was large, but I received a small one with little meat, an unpleasant odor, and the taste wasn't good either. Given the high price, I probably won't risk it again.

The food was delicious, the atmosphere was mediocre, and the service was poor. There was no welcome, and not a single kind word upon departure. It was like eating for free. Only the tea server was nice.

I really enjoyed coming here. But the way I was treated today is simply outrageous. My daughter is sick and wanted fish soup. I stood waiting for 15 minutes while the staff were doing nothing. Then a young man came in, was greeted, and helped immediately. Then another person, who had come in later, was also helped. I grabbed my things and left. I'm not used to bad service.

I'm never going back here. They're just scammers. After waiting an hour, we received the wrong dish with fish I didn't order, and then they supposedly made a new one in 5 minutes, but in reality, the fish from the wrong dish was mixed with other fish, so it was both cold and hot at the same time. And then you have to pay a premium for half the dish I received. I feel like these people have ripped me off... and judging by the reviews, I'm not the only one with the wrong order; apparently, they're good at this. ADDITION TO THIS AFTER 1:00 PM: Severe stomach pain and diarrhea. So that says more than enough about hygiene and the place itself, and it was full of flies. It's really a shame that something like this still exists.

The food itself is decent if you like a lot of fat, but the staff is incredibly rude! They hang around on the street, make the neighborhood dirty, and are a nuisance to people.

Delicious fish and atay, the best there is

The shrimp were hard to peel, the fish was fried in old oil, as was the calamari, and if you don't speak the restaurant's language, it's complete ignorance. The products themselves look good; it's better to buy them and make them yourself. The prices are moderate. The service is there, but too busy with everyone but customers (unless you wear a burka or turban). The tables are dirty, wiped with the same cloth the waiter wipes his forehead with.

Good restaurant, the staff is actually friendly to Dutch people! The food is delicious, you can check the price yourself on the scale, and it's always accurate.

I don't like to write a negative review at all and maybe it was a snapshot but the soup was like curry soup and we had to search for a piece of fish. The tomato sauce with the fish was really bland and I am used to something completely different. The toilet is for men and women and is really mega dirty. Even a petrol station toilet on the A1 is cleaner than how we found it. Really a shame, I understand that you can be too busy for it but then pay someone who wipes everything every hour and fishes all the paper from the ground that people throw down. For me really not worth repeating unfortunately.

I came here today with my family for dinner. After a while of no food, I asked where my food is, it would be the next one so I just waited and it wouldn't be a problem. We waited more than an hour in total and asked the server again how long it would take because the children were also getting busier. The server took this as if I wanted my food now or I would leave and passed this on to the kitchen. Then 3 men shouted at me to leave the business. We were 2 women and 3 small children and were shocked by this. We had already had drinks and eaten a salad. We paid for it and then left the business. I just have to give 1 star, but if it were up to me I would give 0 stars and not recommend anyone to eat here. Familiar words are drawn forward and you can wait until it suits them. Ps: Before we ordered, they gave us 15 minutes to get our food.

Just ordered 2x gourmet here and I received a large portion of kibbeling, 2x gourmet that were fried in old fat and floated in the fat for the kibbeling, they sawed a gourmet into pieces, this one also comes from old fat and is very limp and not nice and crispy, ask for extra herbs, there is nothing on it, this was the first and last time I bought food here, they are only friendly to their own breed, friendliness is hard to find here. Really not recommended

If you want to eat fresh fish, you've come to the best place. You simply choose what you like and it comes fried and fried to the table. It was so good that we went back straight away.

I also recently received the wrong order, had to figure it out myself and as a compensation I received a quarter of what I ordered. the men don't take the time to help people with their orders, they think like we're making good money so you don't eat mom or eat old rock hard fish.

You choose the type of fish you want. They cook it and bring it. You eat with pleasure. They make a very nice presentation. Prices are very affordable. I recommend it to everyone.

It is the second time we have eaten here, but now we know for sure: we will never eat here again. They made exactly the same mistakes yesterday as the first time. A price list or menu is missing or we have not received it, when ordering the fish you get a rushed feeling because they don't seem to be able to handle the crowds and then everything goes wrong. We ordered fish soup but we didn't get it. After waiting a while, we reported this anyway. Then the fish soup was brought. However, we also ordered several salads that we did not receive. After waiting a while, we also indicated this to the waiter who was not very alert. Well, after indicating twice that the salads were missing, we still didn't get it. The fish were brought in at some point. The calamari seemed fried in old oil. You could taste that the oil was not clean, but in addition to the taste, you could also see that in the fish itself. Once again: definitely never here again. Both the service and the food itself are severely substandard.

Delicious fresh fish to pick up or eat there. When you sit down you are served a large bowl of fried fish. Add some baguettes and enjoy. Tip: the (fish) soup is delicious and there are fresh salads. I will definitely come back again.
