Very cosy cafe, tasty coffee and good service

Lovely owners, delicious coffee, great atmosphere: they always play jazz, there's a mini library where you can borrow books to read, and it's laptop-free. There's also a lovely terrace with sunshine (when it's out).

I had an excellent flat white from this coffee shop. I can be picky about the coffee/espresso in drinks and this one was perfect. The inside of the cafe is very peaceful and quaint, with lot's of books on the shelves.

I was completely yelled at by the owner for bringing a laptop. Apparently, there's a no-laptop policy, but they didn't mention it until after an hour. It could have easily been mentioned right away when my coffee was served, because I was already there with my laptop. After an hour, I said I'd finish quietly, but I was publicly yelled at to leave. Explaining that my hard drive was still rendering went unheeded. The way he was raging—even towards his employees—came across as aggressive and disrespectful. The people on the patio were visibly shocked, and several guests asked if I was okay. Inside, I tried to calmly explain that you can't "yell" at someone so publicly on the patio, but they yelled at me there too. It's clear to me: I'm never coming back here.

Literally the best cappuccino I've had in a while. I used to work as a barista and they know how to work their beans and milk.

Delicious coffee and delicious sandwiches

The gentleman is a bit stiff in handling and appearance. Not really a friendly barista appearance. The coffee was good, but the gentleman was very concerned that his laminated menu would be torn apart by my son with autism and a language disorder... I indicated that he is a special child because of his disorder and he was not destroying it... otherwise we would have been insured for that. But I couldn't imagine being stingy for a menu that could be printed out. Don't worry, it's not strong enough to mess up a laminated menu...

A glass of tap water with your coffee is apparently "not the intention"?

Looks nice inside, but specialty coffee is bad. Filter coffee cannot be dark roast and so bitter. Also prohibited for laptops.

The coffee is bad and overpriced indeed. I tried americano, cappuccino and latte. Same thing.

Got a coffee to go here for the first time. And I'm excited! The tent has a nice atmosphere: cozy, but also open. I found the employee to be very nice and she was up for a chat. I had a combination of coffee and ice cream. The ice cream was wonderfully creamy and tasty. But the coffee that topped it surpassed everything: a soft taste but still nice and strong. As a combination it was delicious! I will definitely come back here again for the same recipe or to try another coffee from the extensive list.

February 2024, Have to order at the counter, what is only stated at the menu, which is not on every table ... music is pretty loud but the 'sound' is very good. No vibe, coffee oké.

Great atmosphere, very artsy coffee place. Music and decor were top, and the one man behind the counter was very nice, helpful, and quick. I went here twice with 3 other people, once for take out and once for dine in and both were quality.

Worst service ever. Cappuccino was just steamed milk, absolutely no coffee flavor. I asked for a cappuccino with less milk, but this was not allowed.

As is often the case, we walked to the Brave Market and returned home via the first of Swinden and Javastraat. At the Motion I got a very strong double espresso (that's how I like it), a glass of water (that's how it should be) and delicious black velvet cake. Hubby had delicious mocca coffee with toast. Sympathetic "neighborhood" business, simple decor, newspaper on the table, regular, often older, people from the neighborhood, unlike many others in the area, not a "hip tourist place". Excellent service, friendly owner.

The atmosphere is very calm and relaxing and the coffee and toasts are delightful. My friends and I really enjoyed spending some mornings here. Thank you!

This café is such a hidden gem. It's worth taking a detour from the buzzing centre to enjoy some tranquility. The owners are very nice. The space has a retro and Asian style which makes it very cosy, the background music tops it all up. Playing some Frank Sinatra, it takes you back to the classic times and almost has a Christmasy feel to it. The coffee is very good. We'll definitely return!

Dit is mijn aller lievelingsplek om coffee te drinken! Ik vind het fijn dat met aandacht de koffie wordt gemaakt. Kwaliteit boven kwantiteit! Zeker een aanrader :) Aanrader is de affogato, vanille ijs met een espresso shot.

Lekkere senior hipster koffietent met vriendelijke service. Rustige vibe (of dood, maar net hoe je het bekijkt) en een ruime keus aan eten. Flat white was echt heet, die van mijn koffiemaatje was beter. Smaakte nog dikke prima. Wel 4,75...voor een flat white. De prijzen liggen erg hoog, zelfs voor Amsterdamse begrippen: plakje cake 4,25? Daarom slechts één kop genomen en door.

Really good quality coffee! Sometimes they open later than the schedule but it is worth. They also close earlier than scheduled and there is no plugs for laptops for some reason. Still coffee quality is amazing

Hard to find iced espresso drinks in Europe but was lucky to find this place. A cute coffee place with nice atmosphere. I ordered iced latte and a piece of banana loaf and they both tasted good!

Terrace is nice albeit next to a busy walking stream. Unfortunately the only good thing I can say about this place. Despite a low number of customers the coffee took forever and tasted mediocre. Overpriced.
