MYLOS Food & Drinks in Centrum

For many years, Mylos has been serving consistently delicious food. The staff is lovely and friendly, and the Greek music perfectly complements the fantastic atmosphere. A wonderful place with authentic Greek charm. Highly recommended!

Ordered food for home. It arrived within half an hour. Had a delicious meal, as always! Unfortunately, we missed the piece of orange cake that is usually included.

I ate here with a good friend, and we both ordered the mixed grill (specialty of the Chef). The meat was way too salt, and to me it overpowers the taste of the meat and the seasoning. Besides that, IMHO the meat was overcooked, and became dry. I would suggest the restaurant offer a choice from rare to well-done. That might be easier said than done though... Service was really friendly and attentive! If you do not mind salty food and playing it save with well-dome meat, give it a go!

This is already our second visit, and you have no idea how delicious the food is here. We absolutely recommend this place; you will be pleasantly surprised. We would also like to take a moment to thank the staff in particular: everything went quickly and smoothly. Everyone is incredibly friendly and hospitable!

We spontaneously visited Alkmaar today and were more than impressed. The service was very attentive, absolutely friendly, and friendly. The food was top-notch in every respect! Both the octopus and our main courses were outstanding! A heartfelt thank you for everything! If I'm ever in Alkmaar again, I would definitely go back here. A fantastic Greek restaurant! Keep it up!!! :-)))) Σας ευχαριστώ

Delicious food and friendly staff.

Delicious food, very attentive and friendly staff, even though we arrived very late. We felt very comfortable.

The food was really good, and so was the service. The food tasted just as good on the second day (the leftovers). Anyone in Alkmaar absolutely has to eat here! The portion for 3 people would have easily fed 4-5! That's how it should be at a Greek restaurant! A little more tzatziki would have been nice, though. ☺️

Placed an order online. That was super easy and you are kept well informed about the progress of the order. The food was very tasty, though really for two people. (We had the Mylos platter for 2) Sometimes you think you'll have leftovers, but it was finished off with great enthusiasm! Maybe because it was so delicious…

Spontaneously went for a quick meal on the terrace. Received a warm welcome, good service, and delicious food.

Excellent quality, quantity and prices

Delicious, fresh food and very friendly staff. We'd love to come back again! 👍🏻

We ate here as a surprise for my husband's birthday. Cozy atmosphere, staff that works very well together as one team. Friendly, good value for money, and the food was super tasty. Cozy, relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended.

It's delicious, 好很吃 отличный A picture says more then a 1000 words

Excellent food. Friendly staff. We'll gladly come again.

Best Greek restaurant in the region. What stands out most, besides the good food and the quality of the beer and wine, are the relaxed atmosphere, the hospitality, and the level of service. Early in the afternoon or late at night, inside or on the terrace – they are there for you. Just a gyros to take home or eat in, or a full meal, anything is possible here. Highly recommended.

Friendly service. Large portions. We were there on a Saturday afternoon, when there were relatively few other guests. The food was tasty. I would go again.

Friendly service, tasty food, delicious ouzo, cozy place. I would happily come back here for Greek food again.

Great Greek restaurant! Good value for money. Very friendly staff.

A cozy restaurant with friendly staff. The food was tasty and the portions were very large.

Had a delicious meal at this Greek restaurant. Excellent service. Definitely worth a repeat visit.

Once again, we had a delicious meal at our favorite restaurant in Alkmaar. We have been coming here for years; sometimes it’s a little less impressive, but we always come back. Highly recommended! Hospitality still exists here! The Meijer Family.

The price of the food is very high, drinks are fine. Service was friendly and efficient. The food was bland in taste and not very Greek. Grilled peppers from a jar, mediocre bread with Dutch cheese, hardly any feta and no olive oil on the salad, and a few other things like that. Tzatziki was very bland, often a good indicator. Therefore, unfortunately, not a place I will return to.

The food is always good, just like the service. Mylos is a place where I like to go eat.

Don't go there or pay any attention to those hours. I just went at 9 pm and Google says they close at 11 pm, and they refused to serve me. Mexico would never do that to them. 🇲🇽🌯

Cozy place! Delicious food! And always nice, cheerful staff. Top-notch food combined with the service. Efharisto, meraki! Yamas.

We visited this establishment twice and were very pleased. It has a large, varied menu, reasonable prices, excellent service, and delicious food.

Update end of March 2026: ordered a nice menu for two. The website stated a delivery time of 75 minutes, but we were sitting at the table within half an hour. Delicious! Fast delivery, still deliciously warm, generous portions, really top-notch. Perhaps an even better restaurant than the competitor 100 meters down the road. Thanks again, Mylos! And until the next time!! #toprestaurant ------------------ Update: Mylos is an excellent restaurant, also for home delivery. Ordered again today, fast delivery, the dishes were still nice and warm and - as we are used to from Mylos - had a delicious meal. It has become more expensive, but everything has become more expensive. Top! Highly recommended!! ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤ Update: haven't ordered anything from Mylos for some time. But today we did again. And what an improvement!! Delivery right on time, still deliciously warm (despite the distance) and we truly HAD A DELICIOUS EATING. Great, Mylos. You are back to your old level. Highly recommended!! ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤ Ordered a Greek meal for 2 for Christmas. It was delivered right on time and it was delicious! #1 top restaurant in Alkmaar!

The food was very good and delicious! We enjoyed it very much! We received excellent service and had absolutely no complaints! Everything was perfect, and we even allowed our dog to come along!

We have eaten here twice now and both times the food was delicious. Pikilia, bifteki, lamb chops, gyros special, and oven-baked potatoes are highly recommended. The meat is juicy and tender, and I consider it a big plus that you can order oven-baked potatoes (because I prefer not to eat fries).

Very hospitable and friendly service. Had a delicious meal. Flavorful and well-presented dishes. Affordable dining

Delicious mixed grill, fast delivery and friendly delivery driver, ordered via their own website.

We order from Mylos regularly and it is always top-notch! Tasty and hot food, and fast and friendly delivery. Highly recommended!

The food here is delicious, certainly not too little, and the staff is friendly. Definitely recommended. They don't rush you either; you can just sit quietly.

Enjoyed the tasting lunch, very well taken care of, tasty, recommended!

First time eating here. Delicious meat. Very friendly staff. I'll definitely be back. I recommend it.

We spontaneously ended up here early in the evening without a reservation. The three of us thoroughly enjoyed the friendly service with a smile and the well-prepared food. The price-quality ratio was excellent. The restaurant became increasingly busy as the evening progressed. We will definitely enjoy Greek delicacies here again.

Super tasty, very friendly service.

We had a delicious meal, full plates, and super tender meat! Perfect!

After four days in the Netherlands and having visited at least 5 cities (Utrecht, The Hague, Rotterdam, Volendam, Edam Marken), we ended up with the last choice, Alkmaar for the history of cheese as well as the North Sea fish trade. While looking for something from Greece, we found this gem of a restaurant. Food better than Greece, and staff whose smile and positive energy were magic! Thank you very much! You confirm the rule that Hellenism leaves its mark everywhere!

Delicious Greek food, great service, nice people, very friendly, have been coming there for years, don't want any other, the best Greek in Alkmaar and the surrounding area, never gets boring, keep coming back top restaurant, the best, Pieter and Hennie

What a great restaurant, delicious food, very good service, friendly staff, we have been coming here for years and it never gets boring, the best Greek in Alkmaar and the surrounding area

I had food delivered by Mylos, so the 5 stars for atmosphere are an estimate, but it's undoubtedly accurate. The food was delicious and as a bonus, we got a particularly tasty dessert. 😃 Why go to Greece when you can enjoy authentic dishes right here in Alkmaar? Highly recommended! 👍🏻

It's a shame that the nine of us were crammed into a small corner. The plates barely fit on the table. We had to wait a very long time for the food, but the drinks were served quickly. We didn't notice the music at all. We found the atmosphere in Schagen better than here in Alkmaar! My husband thought the pork gyros was way too salty. Otherwise, everyone was satisfied.

Super friendly service, yummy food and fair price.

Delicious food and very friendly staff! A homey atmosphere, like being back in Greece.

I only know good and bad, so for me it's usually 1 star or 5 stars. Mylos deserves its 5 stars in every way: good and plentiful food, fast and friendly service, and a cozy interior.

As always, plenty of delicious food, delivered on time. The Souvlaki is highly recommended...delicious.

Very pleasant experience! Excellent Greek food, large portions and very good service, especially from Asterios! If you want to try Greek food in Alkmaar this is the place you are looking for!

Delicious stifafo! Made with real rabbit instead of beef. The gyros and gyros special were also delicious!

We ate at Mylos yesterday, and it was so delicious! The staff were super friendly, there was a nice amount of time between the starter and main course, and the food was delicious. If you're looking for a Greek restaurant, go to Mylos, not the massive Irodion, where the food was practically thrown in front of us. We enjoyed it, Mylos, thank you for this.

If you’re looking for the most hospitable restaurant in Alkmaar, this is it! The kindest, warmest most loving staff. My wife and 2 kids just went in for a meal and had the most incredible time! The staff even went out of their way to accommodate a gluten intolerance. The food was also exceptional! I would HIGHLY recommend this place.

Last Friday we had a super fun, cozy evening, a delicious meal with wonderful service (our host was Mahmoud) and lovely Greek music. Definitely worth a visit!!

The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. The host was great and has a great sense of humor. We'd love to come back again.

The food was delicious and the staff was very attentive! The portions were always generous, and they always went out of their way to ensure our comfort.

A super fun and cozy restaurant where customer interaction is enjoyable and friendly. We really enjoyed our evening and would love to come back again if we're ever in the area.

I've eaten there twice so far. I'll definitely be back. Always delicious, great service, and especially when it's full, it's very cozy!

Delicious authentic Greek, nice atmosphere, friendly service and good food

Very friendly staff and the food was fantastic in one word....

We booked four nights in Alkmaar. We visited the cheese market and then strolled all over the city, looking for a restaurant. We then came across MYLOS. A restaurant where we received a friendly and welcoming welcome, were given an outside table, and thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food. When we got cold, we were immediately given a table inside and were able to enjoy our delicious dessert there. The entire staff was very attentive and served us excellently. What can I say? We enjoyed it so much that we visited the restaurant the next three evenings. Of course, the staff noticed this too, and we struck up a few conversations. In short, highly recommended. If we come back to Alkmaar, we will visit MYLOS again.

Super friendly and hospitable staff! The food was delicious and affordable.

Delicious and a lot of food for a small price..

Cozy restaurant where we enjoyed delicious gyros and mixed grill. The dessert was delicious. Friendly staff served us well.

Extremely friendly Very tasty Portions just right Good value for money Retsina is too expensive

Top Service, Perfect Sizes, Tasty food and even glutenfree options. Will come again!

We went to this greek restaurant for lunch on a Sunday. The staff greeted us warmly and quickly seated us and brought us our drinks. The starters came shortly after and we had a assorted mix of dips, pita bread, olive tepenade, and mousse of feta with red pepper. It was absolutely delicious. The bread tasted authentic (we were told they bring it from Greece) and served warm. Our main meal took a little longer (we were in a rush), but it was probably the best Greek food I've had in a very long time. We had a mix of shrimp, squid, moussaka, peppers stuffed with feta and other items. We don't eat red meat and the staff were very happy to accommodate our request. We need to head home quickly so our food was packed promptly which we brought home with us. Overall we were very happy with the food quality, presentation, ambience and the service and will come back another day when we have time for a more leisurely lunch. The restaurant gave us a feel of home cooked food, we would highly recommend this place.

What can I say.... By far the best meal of the trip, if not the year for me! Food cooked to perfection!! - Service was 10/10 Highly recommend No.73 on the menu!

What a cozy and lovely restaurant! The atmosphere is great, and the food is truly delicious. I haven't had such a good meal in a long time. I had the tenderloin, and it was tender and well-prepared. I didn't feel rushed at all, and the staff was friendly and helpful. A real 10/10! I'll definitely be back soon. You can really feel the staff interacting with each other in a friendly and welcoming way.

lovely food very good . but it took 50mins to get our food. but it was really busy or maybe they took time in cooking to nice food 🤔🤣🤣🤣

At Mylos, I had number 64, and it was delicious! Authentic flavors, fresh ingredients, and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Definitely recommended for Greek food lovers!

What can I say about Mylos? The location is beautifully central in Alkmaar. The food is truly delicious Greek. The service is fast and always with a smile. We've been coming here for a few years now and will definitely continue to do so. For those who have yet to discover Mylos, I can only say: do it soon!

SUPER quality, 100x better than the Greek restaurants in Heerhugowaard. And that orange cake... man... I'll definitely be back.

Great, been here 2 years ago and it's still just as good and cozy

We had such a wonderful time here, and the food is something you rarely experience these days! A group of us decided to let the chef surprise us. We put some delicious dishes on the table to share. And what a feast it was! Plenty for everyone and very tasty! Definitely worth repeating.

What a delight to eat here. The people were super friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. And celebrating a birthday here is a real treat! I was too late to take pictures again. Some of the plates were already empty, so I had to imagine the gyros! Highly recommended!

We ate here last week. There was only seating inside, but the air conditioning was off despite the heat, making it very warm. I ordered a glass of white wine, but it was lukewarm and tasteless. The food took a very long time to arrive, although my table companions enjoyed it quite well. We didn't get ouzo beforehand, which you usually get at other Greek restaurants.

Yes, we can recommend this place. The service was good and the food was delicious.

Fantastically delicious Greek food. I felt like I was in Matala 😍 The Retsina tasted heavenly. Enjoyed it on the sunny terrace. And super friendly service! Highly recommended 🥳

The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and the price was very reasonable. Definitely recommended if you're in Alkmaar and looking for a good meal.

Cozy Greek restaurant. Large portions. Delicious food. The gyros and sea bass are very tasty. Friendly staff.

Made a reservation for our youngest. He canceled it again in his excitement. No problem for Mylos. The order was for a starter and a main course. He ordered way too much, sir; you'll never finish it all. He adjusted the order, and we had just the right amount. Thinking along with us... we love that. Mylos is definitely recommended.

Delicious food and great staff!

I used to frequent Mylos because it was the "less expensive Greek place," and after a night of drinking, the gyro sandwich was very welcome. It always felt "just fine." I don't think I've been there in four years, but in the last month I've ordered twice. And SOMETHING has changed. Both times it was far beyond expectations and incredibly delicious. A true experience. Tender, strongly flavored gyros. Deliciously fresh tzatziki. The tomato rice is very distinctive. Everything from the grill is amazing. The staff is also very nice and friendly. A definite recommendation and a gem in Alkmaar!

We had a wonderful evening tonight. The food was delicious. The service was excellent. Friendly and welcoming. We regularly visit this restaurant. We always leave feeling good and with a big smile on our faces.

☝️😁 Solid Greek Cuisine with Room for Improvement The restaurant offers average Greek cuisine in a simple setting. A positive aspect is the friendly service, which strives to serve guests well. The food itself is solid, but without any particular highlights. One point that stood out was the practice of having to pay extra for fries, which is expected as a standard side dish with some dishes and was therefore somewhat surprising. The side salad was also unfortunately very small and didn't contribute significantly to a complete meal. Overall, the restaurant is an option for those seeking uncomplicated Greek cuisine without a lot of frills and who value friendly service. However, those expecting a special dining experience or generous side dishes may be disappointed.

Warm and friendly staff. Had a lovely meal here with family. Highly recommended. We will definitely come back here again. In addition to my review: We definitely came back, from celebrating my 40th anniversary at work, on our wedding day and yesterday again with family. Always a warm welcome. Incredibly friendly, helpful service and always up for a joke. The food is delicious and well taken care of. Our favourite is to enjoy the different dishes together. Yesterday was also a great evening! We are looking forward to the next time. Thanks!

We always come here to eat during the Alkmaar four-day walk. Just good and relaxed atmosphere.

Once again we had a wonderful meal at Mylos. What a super fun and cozy place. Until next time!

Excellent Greek, meat not too spicy and friendly staff.

Yesterday my boyfriend and I had dinner at Mylos for a special occasion, it was our third time and we are pleasantly surprised every time! The portions are good, which is something you can take into account when ordering. It's great that they are not stingy at Mylos. The food tastes delicious every time, you really feel like you are in Greece when you are eating outside on a sunny day. It is also very nice that I could reserve a table for outside, which is not possible at many other restaurants. The staff is remarkably friendly and hospitable. There are also plenty of vegetarian options, especially starters, which is typically Greek and very desirable as a vegetarian. The only point for improvement that I can mention is that the salad was a bit salty. All in all, we would love to come back here!

Everything is very tasty, and served with love, at a nice price

Tried some of their appetizers and loved every bite! Service was super nice and the food was amazing too :)

We had been to the Kaeskoppenstad but the rain spoiled the fun... but luckily not at Mylos.. I had suggested to my wife to have a glass of wine at the Boom but it was too busy so I suggested again to go to Mylos which is near the Boom.. the glass of wine was extended with food which was because of the nice smell from the kitchen I think. What a delicious meal we had. It was delicious... with smooth friendly service. We will definitely come back here more often.

Very friendly and attentive service. Great food and a cozy atmosphere. We'll be back!

What a nice restaurant. The service is very friendly and correct. The restaurant is well decorated and nice to sit. We ordered a three-course menu. As a starter we have a tasting of cold Greek starters. As a main course we have a tasting of various warm Greek dishes. As a dessert grand dessert consisting of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, panna cotta, walnut cake and orange cake. All tastings were delicious. I can therefore recommend this. The location is also perfectly situated on the Grote Markt in Alkmaar. Here you can visit the cheese market on Friday. Parking is a bit difficult, I advise everyone to park in the nearest parking garage.

The overall picture is just good. Friendly welcome and a nice meal in a quiet Greek atmosphere.

Nice restaurant, good food, excellent service, nothing wrong with it.

Absolute top experience at Restaurant Mylos! What an amazing experience! The pita gyros was without a doubt the best I have ever eaten – perfectly seasoned, deliciously tender meat and served with super fresh ingredients. Every bite was pure enjoyment. On top of that, the service was fantastic: friendly, attentive and fast. The staff really makes you feel welcome. You can tell they are passionate about what they do. Mylos is an absolute must for anyone who loves authentic Greek food. I will definitely be back!

I went to Mylos in Alkmaar again today, after a few visits I had already made in the past, but this time I took my best friend with me. We ordered several things and each subsequent dish was even more delicious than the last. We especially highlighted the octopus and the zucchini, simply delicious! Since it was my birthday, my friend had asked the staff to bring a dessert. I had ordered the orange pie and it was incredibly delicious, juicy and aromatic. My friend got the panna cotta and she loved it too. And they also sang the birthday song as a surprise, which was honestly funny but also very sweet!!!!!! The food was amazing, but the service was even better. The people who work there are really excellent at their job, friendly, helpful and always with a smile, even when the place was full. We never had to look for them, they kept coming to ask if we were okay. Thank you for this wonderful evening and for the perfect food. We will definitely come back one hundred percent! ——————————————————- I went again today to Mylos in Alkmaar, after having already visited a few times in the past, but this time I brought my best friend. We ordered quite a lot and each dish was even more delicious than the last. We especially loved the octopus and the courgette – just amazing! Very tasty Greek! Service is very friendly and fast. Not the most atmospheric restaurant but more than adequate. Homemade baklava is definitely recommended.
