Perfect place for working. You can take your laptop, some places have plug either. Music is not disturbing for your focus. I had few cakes and with its quality I haven’t been really satisfied. The dough was a bit curdled, but they have delicious sandwiches. Coffee is tasty, and atmosphere as well, service is always kind and helpful.

Delicious sandwiches, especially the Goat Cheese one! The Blueberry Muffin is soft and the Apple Pie very flavorful. The smoothies and coffees are also really good. If you're looking for a good breakfast place, this is the right one for you!

They charge it for the second .10 cents more than the price on the menu/board on a week. But it was not only that; they gave me a medium cup when I paid for a big one twice. It's a shame because I doubt that they are doing this with students of youth, maybe because the goal of this company is to attract young people or maybe because I am a foreigner? I don't even want to think about it because if one of those is, this is discrimination or racism, why I receive a different treatment?. I thought, for the next time, I will always ask for the recipe to have always a proof, but I realize that I don't want to come back ever again to this place, maybe to another branch but not this one next to the Rotterdam station. One time can be a mistake (acceptable), but more than two times is on purpose. You're lost because I can pay for a big cup of koffie every day. From now on I will go to Starbucks or Douwe Egberts. This last is the best option and they have a high quality coffee. And I forget, they stopped working before 17:00, the if I went at 16:50 they don't want to take more orders

4.10 euro for a 0.5l bottle of water. You know the country is on the tip of a recession when basic items turn gourmet priced.

Good decor but only downside is that they don't have much seating.

I hate the tables so much, I spilled my drink twice and with these prices I was sad to not have drank most of my drink. The table shake a lot and really are not stable. I also got the cups without a holder and no cup plate so that was great.

There is this strange smell at the entrance, which really kills the vibe from the start. I don't think ever clean it. I have been here a few times because I really liked the taste of the old skool beans but these past few times the coffee has been so unproportionate that I have not gotten the same taste again.

4.4 eur for the tiniest cup of an average cappuccino.. 🙏 I don't like to give negative reviews but please try to think about the people you opened this place for in the first place

Ordered iced coffee with oat milk due to lactose intolerance, unfortunately this was cow's milk. That's not nice :(

I pay more than 5 euros for a coffee and I can't even go to the toilet for free because of the marathon I have to pay 50 cents.

Their matcha lattes are delicious! Not bitter, not too sweet. Great texture. They offer oat and soy milk (which I prefer over almond or dairy). I actually feel bad covering up the designs with a lid on the go. 😂 Their staff members are sweet and friendly. Affordable prices. Nice atmosphere.

What a mess on Sunday morning. Lots of empty cups, glasses and saucers on almost every table. Slooow service. Only a staff of two, who seemed overworked and not very efficient. And most of all, the pricing of a simple croissant and a cup of regular filter coffee at EUR8 was through the roof.

I really like this cafe, however I second the comment about the sewage-like smell right when you enter the shop. The smell has been there for a while and it impacts your feeling about the place. Would be great if they do something about this.

It’s so funny how CoffeeCompany will discriminate against hiring internationals even though to make 4 coffees will take 20’ for their employees, so assumingly the non-dutch speaking would take 21’? Really not the place that’s worth to pay 5 euros for a coffee.

No plates for the cakes.. dishes were still everywhere on the tables. Coffee was good! The music was unlistenable.

It’s not the same as before the renovation obviously. Before it was more of a work cafe, lots of people with laptops. Now it’s more of a grand cafe. The disappointed reviews lately are from those people with laptops. The coffee is great and the service is excellent, personal and considerate. Especially considering the size of the cafe vs the size of the team at any given time.

Always forget to heat up their stove in advance before starting the day. So they need more than 30 min to heat up my frozen sandwich in the busy morning time. I had to wait almost 40 min and needed to come out with packed toast urgently to get to the office on time. And it was overcooked, the hard bread made many scars in my month.. I've been here 2 times, and both I got exactly same experience. I am sorry but I don't go here anymore..

Uninviting and everything is dirty, all walls and surfaces have dirty stains, there is rubbish everywhere on the floor, the toilet has overflowed and there are splashes on all walls and floors, empty display cases, disinterested staff and no atmosphere at all.

Closing and kicking everyone out at 17:30 is far too early. Should be at closing no earlier than 21:30 for a cafe where people want to work and study. Look at Dudok or Starbucks for example. A cost saving measure perhaps - but they have no hesitation charging 6€ for an iced latte so they should at least be able to afford to keep the place open a bit longer.

This used to be my go-to place to work and to have coffee. With the new lay out it's terrible. The long table with charging dock is gone. So is the conference room that was very handy for meetings. And there is little place where you can charge your laptop.

I used to come here often to work. It was one of the places I always recommend when a friend asked where is a good working cafe also for meetings. Now that they renovated it’s totally lost this vibes. I didn’t know where to sit as there are very few plugs for your computer and some of the seats and tables have a strange design. It’s not so nice to work here any more and to have a drink with someone the place is too cold and not cozy at all. More like a waiting room feeling. It’s a pity, the interior designers made this strange design, I don’t think I will come back. The food is ok, I had a sandwich, the bread was nice.

This *used* to be a fantastic place to work and study. Now it’s just another cafe next to a station, might as well go to the Starbucks inside Rotterdam Centraal.

I don’t understand. They saying they want to accommodate all groups and that’s why they changed the layout. So Freelancers, tourists, students and families alike. But why then keep the same opening hours. That’s just office hours right? Yall don’t make sense I swear.

What a shitty system. People in line get priority over people actually taking a seat and order through the QR code. This means waiting for over an hour to get a cup of coffee. The baristas agree that the system is shitty. Now the manager...

What a super nice tent at Rotterdam Central Station! Recently renovated and it looks great! A very nice, quiet place to work and have a drink with friends. Staff is also super hospitable, helpful and friendly! Definitely recommended if you are in Rotterdam!

Yes, finally a coffee company next to the central station, which is great when you're on the road. Plus, a nice place to study. The atmosphere is friendly, the coffee is delicious and the baristas are friendly.

Went here again after a long time. The business has been completely renovated and looks great! There is plenty of opportunity to work with my laptop and also space to relax. The staff gives me plenty of space to do my own thing (and receive people). Finally got a delicious sandwich. The chicken za'atar is highly recommended! I will definitely go here again more often!

This place has been a big disappointment for me after the renovation. Before, it was an amazing spot to work, read, or chat with friends while working. The previous layout had a great vibe, but unfortunately, they’ve completely changed that. The new layout doesn’t make sense—the space can’t accommodate as many people as it used to. While they still serve the same food and drinks, which is nice, I don’t understand why they would choose to disrupt such an ideal work atmosphere. From a business perspective, it doesn't seem like a sensible decision either. Because there are much less people hanging around. Previously, there were long communal tables with charging stations that could host multiple people working simultaneously. Now, the separate tables are uncomfortable and less practical for working. I can't help but wonder what the architect was thinking during the renovation. Sadly, they’ve taken away what was once the best place to work in the city. I probably won’t be coming here often anymore, unless I don’t have other options.

After the renovation it is no longer what it was. Such a shame, because there is no good alternative in the city. It's not a work cafe anymore. Furthermore, the staff is still the same, they are great. The atmosphere is okay, it looks neat and modern.

I cant express how disappointed I’m with the new partnership with coffee company it was my favorite place to study & work, it used to have the best vibes. Now the renovation is so weird no place to charge the decoration is so weird it used to have it’s unique style now it changed but not in a better way unfortunately

I was regular here. Was great place to work but after partnership with coffee company it is not more a work place. Removed the best long table with charging station. That was what made NN special for me. Now it’s normal cafe to just have coffee and talk. It’s no longer the great working cafe it was before. 😢😢 said to see renovation ruining the best experience. But yes it’s great place to meet and have a relaxing time it’s just no longer the work cafe it was.

The question is, whether partnership with coffee company will create more revenue for them. As a (former) regular customer there, I hypothesize that it won’t. The NN cafe was known to be much more laptop friendly with iconic long table with plenty of access for charging. This aspect is (as far as I know) nothing found anywhere in Rotterdam. And partnership with coffeecompany decided to ditch that. Today I came earlier around 9.30 and the available spaces for working with access to electricity were already gone. I am truly disappointed.

Nice cafe to get coffee or sit and work. Unfortunately, there was an unfriendly employee behind the bar who forced me to sit down because I was waiting for my sandwich that I had ordered to go. Not much variety of food that isn't sweet but I think that's just because it's inside NL haha. Some of my most productive hours happen here.

Good coffee and study/work atmosphere. Has a room for meetings and calls if needed, you can ask to reserve it at the bar. However, the staff really is incredibly slow and unmotivated. I’d also be weary of the packaged food served (like the granola), found mould more than once as well as frequently served products over the date.

✍🏼 As I write this, sitting at Douwe Egberts Cafe ☕️ next to Rotterdam Central Train Station. It’s super convenient if you’re waiting for your train or tram since it’s right next to both. The place is huge! It is half a cozy cafe, half a shared working space like WeWork, which is perfect whether you want to relax or get some work done. The coffee was fantastic obviously “D.E.” and the pastries were the perfect match. The staff are super chilled friendly👏🏼 Whether you need a quick coffee, a comfy spot to chill, or a productive work environment, Douwe Egberts Cafe is a top choice. Highly recommend!

Great place to get work done as a student or employed person, there is a lot of space and electrical outlets everywhere and the cafe itself is modern and stylish. Staff is always kind and helpful, they speak good English for those who don't speak Dutch. Coffee is a bit pricey but always of high quality.

Coffee as you expect from Douwe Egberts, tasteless. The fact that when you buy refreshments you still have to pay 0.50 for toilet visits during the Rotterdam Marathon is simply meager and customer unfriendly.

This is an option for students who would like to find a café. They have sockets on the desk. Only the service could be better. There are a few employees who are unfriendly and talk more to each other than actually working. I work in the catering industry myself and I don't like the atmosphere in this café.

Asked one type of tea received another type..ok no prob arrived at the table noticing the upper part of the cup with coffee residual, when showing it to the waitress, I'm replied that this is normal and hardly going away...well I showed her how easily its removed with a soft action of my finger :) I'm wondering now if they really wash the stuff.. ps: it was enough to make a new one without trying to go on defensive and fooling the customer ;)

Ordered cortada and I recieved a cappuccino coffee. Talked to the staff and I told them this is not a cortado and the staff replied to me in a rude way “ I know what a cortado is”. I didn’t get refund and no apology. He took my coffee and threw it in the sink.

Very nice place to learn and work on school. There are places with sockets and there is WiFi. If I have difficulty concentrating at home, I sit here and it's very nice that I can do that. Furthermore, the chai lattes are also very tasty and the people who work there are always very nice. Sometimes it is busy and you have to wait a while for what you have ordered, but I don't mind that at all and they usually don't work with very many people at a time, so they really do their best.

Dit is volgens mij de derde keer dat ik dit ervaar als het niet meer is. Er werkt een dame met blond medium lengte haar die vaak een gekleurde haarklip in heeft. Ze is zo arrogant en onvriendelijk tegen klanten. Eerste keer denk je “Hmm misschien heeft ze haar dag niet, kan gebeuren.” Maar elke keer? Als je geen zin hebt om te werken zoek een andere baan waar je wel plezier uit kan halen. Heel jammer want de café zelf is wel fijn.

Very crowded, but the coffee and food were good. Because of the crowd, quite noisy as well, don’t hope to take calls in there.

Nice place to work on your laptop but C’MOOOOON clean the tables! It wasnt even that busy but the tables were full of cups, plates, and trash….I literally had to clean the table pile full of cups myself to be even able to put my coffee in it. Also the ”comfier” chairs have dirt and stains in them…🥲

Super cute café, seems like great spot to study or work. The apple tart and lemon loaf were delicious. Also got chia seed pudding it was amazing. Cashier was very sweet too.

In de ochtend werkt er vaak maar één medewerker achter de koffiebar, waardoor je heeeel lang moet wachten voor je kunt bestellen! Vertraagt enorm de werkdag.

Had an appointment there with a cliënt of mine and honestly I must confess that i didn't even know of the existance of this coffee shop 😊 maybe because I am not coming that often to Rotterdam anymore. It is a spacious place where you see a lot of people working on their laptops it also a perfect place to relax and wait and fill the time till your train goes to f.i. Schiphol again. It is also a quiet place so perfect to have a meeting with your cliënt(s). Oh and the cappuccino was ok 😊

This is one of the best places to grab a coffee and work from your notebook for a few hours. It is intended for it and works well. The staff is a bit disorganized sometimes and can forget your order or take too long to prepare it, but despite it, it's a good place to go.

A good place to work. I could focus and work there for 6-7 hours. Suitable place for writing. They have a separate room for meeting which is quite nice. I love their matcha latte. ❤️ Some suggestions: 1- The opening hour can be extended. It’s until 17:30 in summer. 2- Unlike the other DE cafes which I visited, they didn’t have the option to order online with a QR code at the table. 3- Improving internet connection, Internet works good but sometimes it slows down. 4- maybe it’s too much but creating a silent area (less noisy) in one part of the cafe can be helpful. (for example the area behind the meeting room) All in all it’s a nice cafe and my to go place when I am in Rotterdam and need a place to focus and work.

The cappuccino has been better once… 1. A barista must be male (a matter of energy). 2. Make a cappuccino with mindfulness, not while chatting. 3. Clean the tables as soon as a client leaves. 4. The beautiful red seats are neglected and broken.

Really nice, but I wish people respected enough to go to other cafes if they wanna chat, this place is one of the bests when it comes to studying and the atmosphere should be kept the same accordingly, just ethically at least.

Thankfully the environment is beautiful,but I ordered a simple double espresso and it was one of the worse coffees in my life . Clearly either the machines are not cleaned properly ,the beans are not fresh or the employee don't know how to roast one .

Ik kom hier vaker om te werken. Het is een mooie open ruimte, vaak wel druk dus hutje mutje. ZZPers, studenten alles door elkaar. Ik vind het een prettige sfeer hebben. De prijzen zijn wel hoog gezien het feit dat je niet wordt. bediend. Rijen zijn lang, het duurt echt lang voor je je theetje of koffie hebt. Inefficiënt lijkt t ook wel. Vaak best wat mensen maar het gaat niet sneller daardoor. Diegene die je bestelling opneemt maakt ook je drankje en dat duurt maar... dat is echt wel een ergernis. Er staat wel een waterkan waar je wat water kunt pakken en de baristas zijn aardig.

Heerlijke plek om te werken/studeren met goeie wifi, genoeg plekken met stopcontacten, fijne achtergrond muziek, vriendelijk personeel en lekkere koffie :) wel een beetje prijzig

We bestelden vandaag rond 17:45u en we wisten niet dat ze 18u zouden sluiten. Dus we hebben niet eens onze thee en taartje kunnen opdrinken en opeten.

Ordered a cortado, which was just fine. However, if you love going to a place to drink coffee because you like how it is served then I would skip this. I think it’s overpriced (€3,90) , taking into consideration it doesn’t come with the additional service of a cup and plate with cookie as a treat (something most coffeeshops serve nowadays). You pay for the location and the “free” newspapers and wifi I suppose.
