Nautilus aan Zee in Wijk 04 Egmond aan Zee

We were there for a drink. There was a useless guy walking around named Nico, I think, just taking orders and settling bills. He gave the restaurant absolutely no image; he even said he was lazy. His colleagues work hard for the order, going up and down the stairs, but they don't help clear the tables either. They are rude to customers. When settling the bill, I didn't get to see the amount, not even after it was paid. He isn't worth a cent to the restaurant. He wasn't focused on his work at all!

Beautiful view over the beach, delicious food with incredibly friendly and helpful staff.

What a find!! UPDATE: unfortunately, they haven't had the Rendang for a while 😭 Anyway, discovered Egmond aan Zee for the first time and what a nice little village 😍 Had a TOP meal at Nautilus, super fast service, friendly and really tasty food. We had the crushi, which was tasty but no more special than regular sushi, my girlfriend said. Also the croquette tasting platter, good flavor, nice combination, highly recommended! And then the Tel Aviv Rendang. 'A Tel Aviv' is suddenly a thing apparently; in itself nothing special in terms of concept, a potato with some things on the side, but the Rendang that came with it was out of this world! We are crazy about Rendang; even back in Bali we ate Rendang every day at every place we visited. Most in the Netherlands often disappoint, but this one is a (shared) top 3 (1 of those 3 is a recipe of mine by now), for which we would even drive all the way from Utrecht! The sangria prosecco was also a hit, as were the iced coffee & chai tea latte. Highly recommended, we will definitely be back soon!

Nice little restaurant on the beach. Great food and drinks. Their own Nautilus Blond is definitely recommended. The wines are of slightly lower quality but still tasty. On the terrace, you sit in lovely peace and quiet with a direct view of the beach and the sea.

Cozy place, nice service, just a great place

If you like, you can sit right on the beach and dig your feet into the sand. Further up/back, you'll find sheltered seating. The food (sandwich) was perfectly fine.

I cannot give any other assessment than that we were very disappointed on Saturday afternoon, September 12th. A lot of noise, far too much racket, overcrowded, no space left; I asked a member of staff if it might have been rented out, a private event, which was not the case. I have been to Nautilus often, but Saturday afternoon was a deep disappointment, a major letdown. There really were far too many people inside, and what a racket. This was ridiculous. We had no choice but to leave.

We wanted to eat at the restaurant and had made a reservation for two people and our dog. We had to wait several minutes for service at the entrance. We gave our names and said we had a reservation. At that time (5:00 PM), the restaurant was still very empty. The young man checked the seating plan, found us, and seated us and our dog at a table for two. It's worth noting that on the floor we were assigned, there were hardly any tables for two and mostly tables for four. These latter tables were also mostly empty. We ordered drinks. Gradually, other guests, couples, arrived, some without reservations. They were seated at the numerous tables for four. With our dog, we barely had enough room at the table for two, so we paid and left. We found the lack of empathy and the service very unfriendly.

It's simply wonderful to sit here and enjoy the food, whatever the weather.

It was a lovely day for a walk on the beach. Halfway through our walk, we saw this beach restaurant. We sat on the terrace and had a delicious meal there. The service was quick and friendly.

Delicious food! The Breton fish stew is mouthwatering, and my husband's Poke bowl was fantastic too. The setting is beautiful, and the service is friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

An app found this restaurant and counts the calories in my photo. This dish with baguette fit perfectly within my protein intake and didn't taste like diet food. The place has a neat interior and prompt service.

What top-notch service at Nautilus aan Zee! We arrived shortly after 9:00 PM and hadn't noticed that the kitchen was actually already closed. After such an incredibly busy day, we would have completely understood if we could only get a drink. Nevertheless, they consulted briefly, and we were allowed to order whatever we wanted after all. We had a delicious meal and were treated with incredible hospitality and excellent service. That flexibility and customer friendliness made our evening complete. Highly recommended!

Just had a weekend in Egmond aan Zee and sat at this spot a few times. Absolutely top-notch service from the staff, the service is also incredibly fast, and the food is delicious! Beautifully decorated, and it's also nice that you can sit "on" the beach. I will definitely keep this in mind for when I come back next time 🤍

Nautilus aan Zee is a truly beautiful beach pavilion right on the sea. The atmosphere is modern, relaxed, yet cozy – just the right place for a break on the beach or a lovely evening overlooking the North Sea. The menu is pleasantly varied, the dishes seem fresh and high-quality, and there's also a good selection for vegetarians and vegans. We particularly appreciate the restaurant's commitment to sustainability. Add to that friendly service, a lovely terrace, and a real vacation feeling right by the water. For us, it's a fantastic spot in Egmond aan Zee that we highly recommend.

Perfect beach bar where everyone serves you in a friendly manner. You don't have to wait an endless amount of time for your drinks; they are attentive and observant in that regard, but the menu and selection of draft beer are absolutely top-notch!

Nautilus is an amazing little spot on the sea. All of the food is excellent, drinks, cocktails and even some non alcoholic beverages for us drivers. I've been coming here for several years now and have never been disappointed. It does get crowded so making a reservation is advisable.

That's how it should be!!! After so many disappointments at other restaurants, Nautilus was a breath of fresh air!!! Very friendly staff, delicious food, fast service, good value for money. Thanks for this positive experience!!!

We had a delicious meal & the service was very friendly. The restaurant is located at a busy intersection, so it is sometimes a bit chaotic/loud. However, it didn't bother us :)

Had a delicious meal here with the family a while ago. Super spot in the back corner on a nice round seating area with a great view. The service was good and the food was truly exquisite. Carpaccio, tournedos, and tomato soup. 100 points. Definitely recommended. We have never been disappointed here.

A charmingly decorated beach restaurant with friendly service. A fantastic vegan (!) dessert is served (Cabana coupe). The menu is varied.

On Saturday evening, a table for 2. The restaurant and terrace were full, but the service turned out to be prompt and correct. Drinks were on the table within 3 minutes and the cocktails tasted excellent. The food took a little longer, but the tournedos and carpaccio were very good. Cozy atmosphere and absolutely not noisy. The groups next to us were also served quickly. We really enjoyed this beach restaurant and it is worth a return visit. We visited this beautiful, fun beach location in Egmond aan Zee again this year (July 2026). And everything went super fast and was friendly again. Nice service and delicious satay and cod (daily special). Tried the delicious cocktails again... delicious and we enjoyed it. Highly recommended.

An experienced restaurant, a menu with a wide selection, seemingly always busy, great teamwork between the kitchen and service. Seating isn't cramped, but everything is comfortable. Everyone enjoyed their meal.

The food is delicious! I've been here a few times to eat the prawns. Highly recommended; very nicely seasoned and with vegetables in it, which is a real enhancement. The service is well-timed and fast. The orzo risotto could be a bit more flavorful. The fish stew and (at the time) mussels were also good. Finally, the sangria prosecco was nice and refreshing. The juice was expensive, though.

The price-performance ratio isn't right here, unfortunately, but then again, all beach restaurants tend to be overpriced. The food was decent, though not outstanding. The service was friendly, but the waitresses' clothes were quite dirty. Odd, really. The seating is quite pleasant, especially up on the rooftop terrace, which offers a great view of the beach and, if you like, the sunset.

It's lovely to sit outside. Plenty of shady spots. Dogs welcome. Drinks and cakes are great.

The bill was wrong! The beer was listed as €6.10 on the menu, but they charged €9! Despite my complaint, they ignored it. It's a shame I have to give even one star – zero would be more appropriate!

The most beautiful spot in Egmond. We sat there every day for a week. An incredibly beautiful view of the sea. A great atmosphere all around. The staff were super friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back.

We only had drinks. The hot chocolate and cappuccino were delicious. You can order from the server or online using a QR code. Unfortunately, online payment didn't work. We had to pay in cash, which wasn't a problem.

Booked online, then rescheduled at the last minute. Everything worked perfectly. The service was quick, friendly, and well-organized. The food was delicious, and our entire group was satisfied. Definitely recommended.

The food, service, and atmosphere are good! But the prices are really too high, they are just not normal anymore. 8.50E for a milkshake, for example. Or 22 E for a burger. And on top of that, they still use plastic straws. An absolute no-go! So, Nautilus: would you consider alternatives to plastic straws? From an environmental perspective, it seems good to look at more sustainable options, for example, because of the waste that eventually ends up in the sea. Perhaps paper, reusable, or other more environmentally friendly straws are a possibility. Thanks for considering!

Best bar-restaurant in Egmond. Fabulous service. They also speak German and are very attentive. Great selection of beers and delicious, varied light dishes. Ideal by the beach. Great atmosphere. They even made an exception for us and packed a couple of burgers to take away. They were worried about how long our drive back to Germany would be, so the burgers would stay fresh and delicious ❤️ A lovely memory. Thank you so much and see you soon!

Loved Nautilus, I think it’s maybe the best beach pavilion in Egmond (and Bergen) aan Zee. Food was good, service was great, and both outside and inside are very comfortable and beautifully set up.

We used to be regulars at de Schelp on vacation... now it's been called Nautilus aan Zee for a while now – with a new look... we were there for the second time this week and were warmly welcomed by the super friendly Frank (we knew him from the de Schelp days... the younger generation can't compare – warm, personal, relaxed, and we had lots of laughs 👍🫶). It was a perfect evening!! Fantastic atmosphere, fantastic view, fantastic food (lamb steak, etc.), and Frank 👍 PERFECT! We'll definitely be back!!! Many thanks also to the kitchen 👍😋 the food was absolutely superb!

The Nautilus aan Zee restaurant is the perfect place to end a beautiful day. Its location right on the seafront is stunning, and the comfortable seating invites you to relax. We weren't disappointed with the food: there are many delicious dishes. You can tell that quality is a priority here. The service was attentive and friendly, so we felt completely at ease. If you're in Egmond aan Zee and looking for a relaxing spot by the sea, you should definitely visit the Nautilus aan Zee. Reservations are recommended.

Just sitting comfortably with a cocktail and a snack

Lovely beach bar, accessible approximately 40 meters from a spacious parking lot. De Nautilus aan Zee is located right on the beach, ideal for people with children. While you sit enjoying a bite and a drink, the little ones can play on the beach right next to your table. Friendly, accommodating staff. Nice menu with tasty bites. You can sit out of the wind behind a window if it gets windy, but there is also plenty of room inside. On the ground floor, you sit right by the beach and enjoy yourself. Unfortunately, our order went wrong, but luckily it was sorted out later; we all received a complimentary drink for the wait, a nice solution. The price-quality ratio is good. If you find my review helpful, please give it a like; it is a small effort for you but makes a big difference for others and for me.
