Great roti. The sambal could be spicier.

I've been here six times now. Always good, always delicious, always plenty. The price is great, the people are friendly, the service is fast, and it's a great place for your Surinamese meal in the center of The Hague!

The food tastes very blend and not up to Surinamese standards I would say. The roti chicken is below average but the nasi chicken was really bad, not tasty at all. Overall the food lacks depth and flavor. The hospitality and the great service deserves 5 stars, but the food unfortunately doesn’t.

The new owner often has something wrong. Warung Kromo is a better tip.

Great Food with unique Flavours and fair prices. Its worth a try and ask for some Soja-Sauce.

Never had such bad roti, roti plate was dry without daal, chicken was poorly seasoned. Nothing was tasty. Even potato was not prepared properly

I used to go here every year, back when the original owners were around 10-15 years ago. After not being there for years, I was back in the area and stopped by to see if it was still as good as it used to be. I wish I'd never been. I ordered a chicken sandwich and a shrimp sandwich; the shrimp smelled so bad of rotten fish that I threw it away, and the chicken sandwich was ice cold and tasteless. The foil they wrap the sandwich in fell on the floor, and the man picked it up and wanted to use it again if I hadn't said anything... I think the NVWA (Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority) should pay them a visit.

My friend and I thought we would go to Meyva Roti because my mother has been coming back since she was little. The food is really great again, especially the bara with the sauce that the man from the restaurant offered to us and what a super friendly man and thank you very much Meyva Roti for the delicious food

I've been getting food here for years. The previous owner was very good with it. After some initial problems, I think, the food is still delicious. Definitely go there. I had a roti there; it's a simple place but worth it.

An incredible restaurant serving Surinamese cuisine in the heart of The Hague. The menu is varied, and the dishes are generous and flavorful. The service is also excellent; communication in English is seamless. Vegetarian/vegan dishes are available (big thumbs up to the nasi vege). Don't miss it if you're looking for authentic dishes.

Tasty sandwiches for a reasonable price.

Got a bara chicken curry and it was inedible. The bara was juicy, and I immediately got stomach cramps. It wasn't fresh at all, definitely not recommended.

I read all the reviews and saw that many were positive about the food. So I thought I'd give it a try. I got the nasi, and man, what a disappointment. The food had absolutely no flavor. You literally get nasi with two pieces of chicken and two slices of cucumber. It comes with a small container of sambal, but I don't know what the added value is, because it's not spicy at all. As a Hindustani, I'd be ashamed to sell this as a restaurant. Once, never again.

In my quest to find more great places in The Hague for a quick, budget-friendly dinner (about 45 minutes, less than 20 euros), I ended up at New Meyva. I was served quickly and had a delicious meal on the table in no time. What I especially appreciated about this place was the great music they were playing, and the positive attitude of the man behind the counter when taking takeout orders. I'll definitely be back if I can't find any more places :).

I went here yesterday afternoon to get a Bami Kip. Initially, I wanted to eat half the dish there and take the rest home, but the food was so good that I finished it all there. (I also ordered a portion for my work break the next day.) Definitely worth coming back for, and cheaper than Amsterdam restaurants.

Mislead by its good rating I went and got a hefty food poisoning. The foods wasn't only bland but also poorly manipulated....

Large menu but few things from the menu were available

First time having surinamese, it was incredible. I had the vegetarian roti - 2 types of tempeh, veg and a roti. Very filling, great taste and you can add your own spice.

My brother just bought 2 baras. Swampy, dark. Clearly it had been in the fat for too long or the oil was old or something else was going on, but this was not tasty. Too bad, a waste of my money.

I picked up 1 rotti chicken fillet and 1 rotti vegetarian when the rotti is on display, what kind of rubbish is this, I tried it but got nauseous halfway through, never a waste of my money again.

I tried Surinamese cuisine for the first time. Awesome, properly seasoned, large portion. Very nice staff who will help you choose something. While in The Hague, I chose this restaurant based on the reviews - I was not disappointed. I recommend !

Sinds de komst van de nieuwe eigenaar is de kwaliteit van de gerechten afgenomen. De afgehaalde roti was oud, viel van ouderdom uit elkaar. De roti was ook melig en dik, niet de heerlijke dunne, verse roti die we gewend waren. De aardappel was overcooked, zacht en drassig. Erg jammer, want het was hier altijd top.

Disappointing! Little taste to the noodles, I have never seen moksi like this and everything was very watery.

A great place to sample Surinami cuisine in The Hague. Several options for vegetarians and vegans, I loved the veggie special roti. Their tempeh seasoning is amazing. Good value for money. A special shoutout goes to the lovely owner that really made our day. So sweet to see that at 87 years old, he is so energetic and excited about giving his guests a great experience. The Dutch would say: “100% anraader”.

New Meyva is a fantastic authentic Surinamese restaurant, always fresh and, above all, super delicious! We usually order Nasi - moksi, which is absolutely delicious. Their chicken fillet curry sandwiches and shrimp + long beans sandwich are also really great and unsurpassed!! The atmosphere is warm and hospitable, everyone who works there does so with love and attention to the product. Restaurant New Meyva is without a doubt one of the best Surinamese restaurants in The Hague and is definitely worth the detour!

Food was unfortunately tasteless. Expected more from an authentic Surinamese. Furthermore, the service and personal were friendly. Nothing personal but there was just no taste to it.

Not very tasty, not very dirty. Well: clearly thawed in the microwave and therefore wet porridge in the plastic container (takeaway). The roti itself was also just a bit too elastic for me.

I tried, but unfortunately the new owner really can't match the old owner. I was a regular customer for years. The food was always DELICIOUS before the new owner took over! The flavors of the food have completely changed... how I miss the OLD NEW MEYVA 😔 The new one is really not recommended at all!

Delicious sandwiches for fair prices. The pom sandwich is delicious. With delicious homemade sauces on the table: nice and spicy. Enough seats available (about 10 tables). I'm also definitely curious about their roti and bara.

After 5 years, I'm going to give another update at the business I've been visiting for 20 years. Last summer the owners stopped after almost 40 years and I was already desperately trying out new things here and there (unfortunately, disappointments are also part of life). Recently went to New Meyva again and folks, what a party again. The place has been given a lick of paint, but I don't care about that. Deliciously flavorful chicken curry, crispy long beans and cabbage. The sambals/chutney are also delicious, both the brown and the pink (used to be the yellow Md Jeanette). Sooo happy that the new owners deliver the same quality at the same decent prices. And they have much longer opening hours! See you again soon!

You would think that it would be easy to find good roti in a city like The Hague, but most places disappoint. Not New Meyva, where the roti is very tasty! Tender chicken fillet and delicious fresh pepper. Nice environment where you can sit comfortably. Recommended!

new owner, according to them they are even better now... but haha, no. not even close... with roti chicken fillet special I get less fillet than with what I normally got with a regular > for the new owner. and what a shame is that it was tasteless. shortage of herbs. At home I had to sprinkle curry powder over my roti, the chicken fillet of which was also just done. so you can check whether that is something good... anyway. unfortunately we have to keep looking for that

The chicken was pink, so I hardly ate any of it after I saw this. A few hours later I felt nauseous and guess what: FOOD POISONING. Don't go here!

Long bean shrimp sandwich and roti chicken special. There was virtually no long beans on the sandwich and way too much sauce, causing the sandwich to leak like a wet sponge (stains on clothes, not tasty). The pepper was also hard to find. The roti plate was quite good, but the rest of the dish is way too wet. It seemed more like soup than anything else. The taste of the different ingredients is therefore the same for everything and very watery. For E18.50 I expected something reasonable......

I really like it. My recommendation: Broodje steak + GUAVA fruit drink. Good combination

Vik’s restaurant is a great place to get Surinamese in The Hague. The roti was fantastic! Next time I will try the Nasi or the Bami. I dined in alone and we had a great conversation about our experiences growing up in our respective diasporas. Will definitely be back again.

Excellent food, authentic, for a very good price

The best meal I had in the Netherlands! The vegetarian special roti is delicious, full of tasty veggies and some of the best tempeh I've ever had. And it only cost about 11 euros! A great cheap lunch option with vegan/vegetarian options.

I no longer live in The Hague and have to drive 30 minutes to eat or pick up at New Meyva, I take that effort because it doesn't taste as delicious elsewhere as it does there. Everyone who works there is super friendly.

Always delicious food and the owner is a super friendly man with a very sweet daughter who always helps me with a smile. I recommend the roti chicken (fillet) curry and the chicken livers are also incredibly tasty. It is always full of people enjoying a nice meal and that says something. The portions are always more than sufficient, so after a meal you will be really full at Mew Meyva! Not like many other things where I sometimes have to buy 2 portions to have enough. Thank you New Meyva!

I went there just now on a Thursday eve at 7pm but the shop was closed and it had that sign on the window similar to a real estate agent. If they are closed for some reason, at least mention it on your website!

I absolutely love this place. The food was great and they have a wonderful vegetarian selection. The prices are very reasonable especially for what you get and the food comes out quickmy. The staff is also very friendly and helpful.

Actually 0 star. Opening hours on Saturday 12:30. We were there until 12:45 and not yet open. From outside you could look straight into the kitchen, there were 2 'cooks' in the kitchen who were walking back and forth and couldn't even open the door. Golden tip for these guys: change the opening hours on the internet and on the door. I won't come here anymore.

I got the roti vegetarian special meal and it was really good! It was very filling, felt pretty healthy, and it was a good price (10€). Only thing is I think it could’ve been a bit more flavorful as my Surinamese family’s food tends to have more flavor. As in they should keep whatever sauce they’re using, since it’s very tasty, but take out some of the water.

Aardig personeel! Schoon en het eten wordt met liefde bereid. Het was erg lekker. Zulke plekken zijn schaars tegenwoordig.

Het restaurant is eenvoudig en niet erg sfeervol, ik kom er dan ook vooral om af te halen. Met stip de beste roti kip speciaal in Den Haag en omgeving en dar zijn er nogal wat van. Heerlijke kip kerrie, knapperige kousenband, aardappel en kool. Altijd consequent van smaak en hoeveelheid (veel!). Met de lekkerste sambal/chutney; zowel de gele als de rode zijn ook te koop per bakje of pot. Hele lieve mensen, die helaas wel hintten op een naderende welverdiende pensioen, maar ik hoop dat ik en samen met mij een hoop vaste gasten, nog lang mogen genieten van het eten hier!
