Good classic Chinese food, including an aquarium, etc. And the owner can sing quite well, a bit strange, but still fun/nice. If a Chinese person sings "The Love Boat," your evening is good, right?

There's absolutely no correlation between price and quality. Extremely expensive, while the food is nothing more than mediocre. The service was equally poor. The young waitress was more focused on the dishes than on her customers, while the owner sat at a customer's table and paid no attention. The restaurant is spacious but lacks atmosphere, situated in an equally bleak neighborhood.

Gary's team creates top-notch dishes. He sings for his guests from time to time. His daughter makes beautiful origami cards with cranes.

Delicious Chinese food with old-fashioned portions.

A great, classic Chinese restaurant if you just want to enjoy some delicious Chinese food. We often order takeout, but the restaurant itself is also highly recommended. We also appreciate the live music. Definitely worth a try.

Such a great place to eat. We had a hot plates lamb and beef tenderloin, it's serve ond the cast iron plate very hot and flamed next to your table. Food was brilliant, atmosphere in the restaurant was very cosy and owner come to your table. Very friendly and have a personal touch, rarely to see these days.

We get Chinese food here quite often, but last time it was incredibly disappointing. The price for what you got has simply become too expensive. Chicken Tjap Tjoy: you had to search for the chicken, while last time there was so much chicken in it. The flavor was also much worse. The noodles had few vegetables. The nasi was also worse. Tjap sieuw meat was tough and not crispy, as if it had been a bit older. They came with prawn crackers and included €0.10 for the plastic bag! We spent over €48.50. Unfortunately, not worth what we got. Is there a different chef?

We happened to have a craving for Chinese food when we were in Almere, and it was close by. Because of our return trip, we ordered a menu with char siew and spicy beef. Takeaway. A very friendly and amiable man helped us. I found the meat wonderfully tender, and the sauce tasted delicious without that familiar canned flavor of the Asian store. Plenty of vegetables accompanied the steak dish. The taste was truly like I'd remembered from the old days when there was still a good Chinese-Indonesian restaurant in my village. We will definitely be back. I don't recognize myself in the negative reviews, but perhaps different chefs work on different days. We were there on a Friday, and it was also busy with takeaways. The combo menu was 30 euros, but that included two large dishes. Is that expensive? I've spent more money at McDonald's. We were pleasantly surprised, however. The restaurant seems to have stood still in time, but isn't that part of the charm of going to an authentic Chinese-Indonesian restaurant?

After a long time, I ordered takeout from this restaurant again, but it was a disappointment. The char siu was gray, tough meat with a watery sauce, and the satay was bone dry. Apparently, the spring rolls and sambal sauce weren't available either. Sadly, it's not what it used to be.

Very expensive, and the food wasn't anything special. The Peking duck was simply very dry and cost 25 euros. The nasi and noodles contained almost no vegetables. The shrimp foe jong hai was quite tasteless and I definitely didn't think it was worth 28.50. The service was friendly, but that was the only positive. We won't be coming back.

Got food today. The food was expensive and the food was tasteless, steak was tough and the sauce was super watery. No vegetables in the nasi and noodles. No sambal or prawn crackers, you have to pay extra for that. Overall disappointing. We don't get food here anymore.

We have eaten at New Town six times now and have always been satisfied with the food and friendly service. The owner regularly creates a fun atmosphere with karaoke, and the staff is hospitable. Unfortunately we had a lesser experience this time. When – at the initiative of a waitress – we were offered a sip of plum wine to taste, this was rudely interrupted by an older Chinese lady (presumably the wife of the owner). Without greeting she took the bottle from the waitress and indicated in an unfriendly tone that "tasting everything is not the intention." She then walked away, so we couldn't even order the wine anymore. It's a shame about this experience, because we are always very satisfied with the service and quality of the restaurant. This attitude of one person does not fit with the rest of the team.

We hebben inmiddels zes keer gegeten bij New Town en zijn altijd tevreden geweest over het eten en de vriendelijke service. De eigenaar zorgt regelmatig voor een leuke sfeer met karaoke, en het personeel is gastvrij. Helaas hadden we deze keer een mindere ervaring. Toen ons – op initiatief van een serveerster – een slokje pruimenwijn werd aangeboden om te proeven, werd dit ruw onderbroken door een oudere Chinese dame (vermoedelijk de vrouw van de eigenaar). Zonder groet nam zij de fles uit de handen van de serveerster en gaf op onvriendelijke toon aan dat "alles proeven niet de bedoeling is." Ze liep vervolgens weg, waardoor we de wijn niet eens meer konden bestellen. Jammer van deze ervaring, want verder zijn we altijd zeer tevreden over de service en kwaliteit van het restaurant. Deze houding van één persoon past niet bij de rest van het team.

After a long search, I chose your Restaurant, which is almost half an hour by car away from my stay, and given the menu prices, this should almost be a guarantee for the quality. I chose 3 x Sui Kau Tong soup with shrimps, and menu no 118, Fried large shrimps (sweet and sour sauce). Shrimp wrapped in the Sui Kan Tong soup were strangely soft and the Chinese cabbage had been cooked through until glassy, ​​making the soup less attractive. And the large shrimps were also deep-fried instead of fried and, due to their peculiar soft consistency, were unpleasant to eat (tasteless and soft and fried in a too-thick flour coating, while on the menu they were fried shrimps in a sweet and sour sauce. Menu no 138 / 270 moksi meti (I chose it because I thought this would be a more frequent menu so..... but this was also disappointing. Besides the fact that the meat was super dry, I missed the golden brown roasted color, which makes the appearance of the food attractive. The meat was just dark. What was also disappointing was that there were no vegetables at all. (normally the meat is on a bed of vegetables) I hope that the management or chef will pay attention to this before the food goes out. I spent almost 100 euros while we had to throw away a lot. Shame.

We went out for dinner with the family on a weekday. We enjoyed it so much! Even the 2 vegans among us had plenty of choice. My starter was a shared Tipan tenderloin, super tender on the inside and a little crusty on the outside due to the flame. Because the Tipan dishes are often my favorite choice, I was very surprised by the seafood Tipan as a main course. I haven't ordered that before. But it is definitely worth repeating :) Because there were quite a few people present, an extra moment of live music was added, which is normally only during the weekend. That really added to the atmosphere and we had a great time singing along. What a beautiful voice and he also put my mother-in-law in the spotlight because it was her birthday. All in all a really fun evening out and certainly not the last time for us!

This Chinese has gone downhill in terms of food and up in price. I bought a tjauwmin moksi here yesterday and threw half away because of the poor quality of the meat. Was really tough, bad taste and just didn't look good. And I had to pay €21.75 for that, excluding sambal! He asked an extra €1.25 for a small bowl of sambal! I find it really scandalous that this Chinese asks such an amount for a worthless tjauwmin. Moreover, they act as if the sambal is made of gold, they are so stingy here, at other Chinese places such as the Golden House they are a lot more generous with their sambal and plastic bags.

We had one of the more expensive Tipan dishes for €38 and you really only got a few pieces of meat, I don't think even an ounce in total, but it tasted good, and a small bowl of nasi or noodles. Sufficient for a small eater, but for a larger eater it will eat very little. Wine served in a small glass, 2 sips and it's gone for €5.80 per glass and a small vase of beer for €4.60. Really not normal. What if it were a luxury restaurant but it is an ordinary Chinese in a residential area. We won't come here anymore.

New Town has been there since the mid/late eighties. Has had several owners and each owner has put his own spin on it. But not much had changed. For me it may have been 30 years since I've been there. Today there is a singing Chinese with a good voice. In any case, we had a nice meal here. The service is excellent. You do notice that the fuller the restaurant, the sharper the edge. Quality of the food is also good, here and there a spice that was overpowering. But overall you can enjoy good and tasty food here. The Ti-pan dishes are very tasty. All in all, highly recommended.

Afhaal menu Ik weet nu weer waarom ik bij deze Indonesisch restaurant al jaren niet meer was geweest. Nasi rames, het rundvlees was een blok blubber vet met een reden smaak, bij de nasi zat helemaal geen smaak aan, de sate was netzo lekker als een goedkope versie van de supermarkt en de kerrie groente was amper gesneden of te wel grove brokken. Wat een gruwelijke ervaring waar ik weer jaren op kan teren.
