Never had such bad Chinese food. Really, find another one because even fuyonghai doesn't taste good.

When you look around you think you are in a suburb of Hong Kong, but nothing could be further from the truth, this is Veenendaal. Nieuw China is the place to be for top quality food and good service. The only thing to note is that the jellyfish in one of the aquariums (it looks like sea life in Scheveningen) is not entirely real and is attached to the bottom with a line. But I will come back here more often.

The food is very tasty! The owner is a super attentive and friendly hostess.

Saturday evening June 28th I had dinner there with friends. The restaurant was full (but luckily I had made a reservation) and there was a takeaway section. A good sign! Nevertheless, we quickly had a drink and a bowl of prawn crackers. Ordered the Chinese rice table. Soup (chicken/shrimp/crab), delicious. Then a dish with beef satay, mini spring rolls and much more. The main course consisted of 5 dishes with various dishes. Coffee or an ice cream sundae to finish. It was fantastically delicious. Compliments to the chef and the friendly service. Highly recommended!!

We came here for dinner. Communication was hard as the waitress did not speak english. We ordered a vegetarian dish and got meat instead. Convenience spring rolls, not fresh. Ordering another sauce was declined. Sauces were also not homemade. Even the black currant spritzer tasted strange because of the preservatives inside. Restaurant interior looks nice.

The Gon Bo shrimps from New China are really great! The shrimps are perfect and the spicy sauce is delicious. Even when it is busy, they have it well organized! Definitely recommended.

The best of Veenendaal. For years. The old team is back. Lovely to see and of course to taste. Try their Sam Hee. Yummyrŕr.

Ordered here on Whit Monday after a nice family day. It was supposed to be ready at 18:30, but at 19:30 we – together with many others – were still waiting. This is now the third time in a short period that it has gone like this. Too bad, and honestly too absurd for words. You often see it with popular businesses: the quality of the service drops, because “people will come anyway.” Unfortunately, another case like that. That's why only one star.

Really good food at Nieuw China! Friendly people and a nice atmosphere. The dishes are tasty and fresh. Definitely recommended!

Er zijn andere eigenaren van dit restaurant. De kwaliteit van het eten is nu een stuk minder. Gelukkig komt de oude eigenaar per 1 mei 2025 terug.

Super restaurant! Chinese and Indian food as it was meant to be. Old-fashioned large portions and fair prices. And kindness comes first.

Vroeger waren ze zeer goed. Laatste keer was het niet te hachelen. Er zijn nieuwe eigenaren volgens verhalen. Dit eten is half rauw en bland en nog niet eens waard in een restaurant waar je veel spendeert.. Geef dat restaurant terug aan de vorige eigenaar...want dit...is bs je verhoogde de prijs. Je krijgt minder en de smaak...naja kots is prolly better..en niks proefde erg vers. En een deel van de order was schijnbaar niet gehoord. Iig 1 fout dat niet de keuken raakt... Na 5 uur het opgewarmd en verder gegaard. Iig is het dan somewhat te eten.maar met die prijzen maak ik het zelf wel. Als sterren 2/5.

Tasty and lots of food. Indian Nasi rames very tasty. Cozy atmosphere. You can just take what you have left home with you.

Picked up food twice since the change of ownership. The first time we thought a mistake had been made with ingredients and layout. However, the second time it was just as rancid and deteriorated enormously. Little meat, tough and sauce so thin and tasteless. Unfortunately, we will not return here (after 25 years)!

Been coming here when I still lived at home (I'm now 65), but the food has become so bad, tough meat, mini spring roll has nothing in it just dough, Well Sieuw had a big 10, now a 2! Really can't eat anymore. As a company you cannot keep this up for long.

Was in the area and was looking for a Chinese restaurant, food was very good, only 4 tables were occupied, lots of service and takeaway was also open

Terribly bad food! Meat tough and dry, everything tasted sour, as if it had gone bad. I picked up food because we had guests. I felt very ashamed of our guests because everything was downright dirty. Almost nothing was eaten and then everything was thrown in the trash. We'll never come there again.

We have been coming here for over 20 years and have always had a delicious and enjoyable meal. Now with the new owner/chefs it has deteriorated enormously. The chunks of (beef) meat were tough and the curry sauce was more water than sauce. It's a shame that the many years of good name are now, like some dishes, ending up in the trash.

Vegetarian spring roll, wet on the inside, bare, thin strip of egg, not FRESHLY made, frozen The house spring roll should be with beef on the spring roll, but there is also pork inside, wayerig, even this frozen, tasteless bite, never come here again, stingy sinees.

Nice people, good food and fast service

Ordered for the second time and although the food is delicious, the wait is very long. Ordered at 4 o'clock so it could be ready at 6 o'clock, but then it still takes 45 minutes before it's ready. Really scandalous.

Op zich een prima restaurant. Heel ouderwets van binnen maar tafeltjes zijn schoon. Wij bestelden Ti Pan ossenhaas. Waarschijnlijk proberen ze de prijzen op de kaart niet omhoog te hoeven gooien en daarom maar te bezuinigen op de kwaliteit. Het was absoluut GEEN ossenhaas en ook geen biefstuk. Niet te snijden en niet weg te kauwen zo taai. Saus heerlijk en grote porties dus het vlees maar laten liggen en alleen bami met saus gegeten. Echt jammer! Geen kip of varkensvlees geprobeerd misschien is dat wel goed maar wij slaan even over…

Tonight (Boxing Day) we had a fantastic meal with 13 people. It was excellent! 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 Despite previous reports (new owner, etc.) we are extremely satisfied!

After a few takeaway menus over the past period, only 1 conclusion is possible. This used to be the best Chinese takeaway in the Netherlands, but the quality has deteriorated sharply in recent months, telephone contact is dramatic, orders are incomplete and the quality of the food is significantly less good.

We have eaten at Nieuw China again since last March. but where are all the familiar faces? Have something to drink and a prawn cracker upon arrival. Then order was taken for Chinese/Indian rice table. After waiting an hour I asked how long it would take. The excuse was busy (3 tables in the restaurant and some takeaway) and even more explanation that we could not understand. In the end I had 3 bowls of food that did not contain everything that was on the menu. When I asked for the card she immediately became defensive but again I couldn't understand. Poor service. Had to ask for drinks ourselves. Eating is also not the way we have been used to for years. Much less flavorful and meat tough. Very unfortunate. The best Chinese in Veenendaal is now also gone. We won't be going here again anytime soon!

The red sauce of the babi pangang was inedible last Sunday, no taste, more water. Otherwise good but now terrible. Everything was wet

We have been coming to this Chinese restaurant for years and even come to pick up from Beneden-Leeuwen, but since the new owner it has not been so good anymore. Smaller spring rolls, other ingredients. Very unfortunate. We are now missing good Chinese cuisine again.

Things have deteriorated a lot since the new owner. Food was ordered by telephone at 5:30 PM, then I can't pick it up until 6:30 PM and it will be ready at 7:15 PM, that's not possible.

This remains the best Chinese in Veenendaal in my opinion! The babi pangang, Wan tan soup and spring roll are highly recommended. It turns out that the times I go there it is always extremely busy, both for takeaway and in the restaurant section. Time and time again there is a line outside for pickup, no matter what day. Sign that things are going very well. Been coming there since the 80's and still maintaining the quality, that is an achievement in itself. Compliments New China. Very satisfied customer. Update June 27, 2024. Still ordered Chinese despite the latest reactions that were not positive, because I have been coming here for years, I just wanted to give it a chance. And we liked it, the spring roll was nicely filled. The Wan Tan soup ditto. Much more filling than before. And noodles and babi pangang. The sauce was a bit on the bland side, but the tender meat made up for that. Worth repeating fortunately!

Where are the old owners??? Because now you can't eat it.. noodles taste like a ball of dough in your mouth.. the meat cannot be found in the babi pangang, the mini spring rolls are tough and bouncy ball worthy.. dry chicken satay and far too little per portion of rice and noodles for the number of people... very unfortunate about this... we will never, ever come back here! This is a shame... they are destroying the good name of the previous owners who have been hard-earned over the years in an instant...

Shame! We've been coming here for years, and it's never been this bad. The food was cold. The white rice was sticky and was snot. Meat, where was that? So little in the containers. We don't come here anymore, it's a shame that it has always been a good thing.

I was very surprised when I came to pick up my order this afternoon. All new staff. And chaos behind the counter. The house spring roll was not what we are used to and the satay was very dry. I'm thinking about getting it at the Toko next time.

Monthly menu for 2 people costs 23 euros. I order for 3 people, 1x extra nasi and 2x noodles. Also 1 portion of extra mini spring rolls. Get a larger container of noodles and 2 containers of nasi, so not 3x noodles as ordered. Then pay; 46.50?!?! While a menu for 4 people costs 46 euros? Called and they said it was correct. The babi pangang was far too little for 3 people... this was scandalous, I picked up something there last time. It's even better to drive to Amerongen...

Quality not what we were used to. Big chunks of meat in Daging Kerry, also very tough. Chicken Kerry watery, less tasty. Nasi and noodles both have very few ingredients. Shame! Other chefs?

After a party, I quickly picked up 2 spring rolls from the house, a bowl of nasi and a cup of chicken satay. The spring roll contains beef, in this case a lot of fat. The nasi was very bare, had almost nothing in it, and I thought it was old. Not a nice grain of rice. We come here often, but after this time I'm not so sure anymore.
