Nieuw Peking in Museumkwartier

After 49 years, this Chinese will stop on February 21 because foundation work will take place for a longer period of time. Unfortunately, the Chinese will not return after the work and that is a great loss for the neighborhood! Very warm, lovely people and the food is fantastic, sad that another piece of Amsterdam history is disappearing from the streets in this way. Thank you for everything and you are doing well!! 😊

The most unpleasant tasting Babi Pangang en fried rice ever. I do not understand how they are still around!!

Fatty meat has a bitter taste, then you know how rotten it is. The nasi is boiled wet rice and the babi pangang is dry and tasteless, extremely nasty!!!!... and I now call for closure and it is not answered.. .so, wasted money!!!!10x dirty and they cannot be contacted by telephone...watch out. 23-01-2025. I wanted to speak to them first but...the phone is busy

Very kind and helpful staff, excellent food (generous quantities too), we love the warm and vintage atmosphere there. Overall, a perfect price/quality ratio. One of our top restaurants in Amsterdam, we go there often.

Nieuw Peking Amsterdam. Sunday evening without reservation. Got a good table for two persons. For a starter, tried to order 2 sets of dumplings for 2 persons. Not possible according to the Lady. Strange indeed. My beef chop meal was fine. Nothing surprising. Dear partner had beef on hop plate, which was more tasty and spicery choise. According to her it was standard and ok. Summa summarum: Food 3 stars, service and atmosphere 2 stars each.

We ordered food and waited for over an hour. When asked whether it's going to be done anytime soon, we were told "in 15 min". The atmosphere is poor, no music, and you can hear people at each table talking and chewing.

Excellent fresh tasty Chinese food! All vegetables in the dishes are crispy and fresh. Eaten here more often and consistently high quality of ingredients and taste. I don't know if it is 100% authentic, but it is fresh, tasty and friendly service at old-fashioned low prices. Highly recommended.

While I was eating, I thought I should post a review of this place, so I took a picture (that's why there are traces of eating on the plate 😅) It felt a bit like fusion Chinese food, but it was really great! If you miss Asian food, come here!! I would like to come two or three times.

Indonesian and Chinese restaurant also offering a traditional menu of Chinese-Dutch dishes. Excellent service, very attentive. The dishes are generous and fresh. Don’t miss this address if you’re in Amsterdam.

Amazing 🐉 stunning fresh food and simply the best service. We had three courses and drinks for under 75 euros. Each dish is cooked to order, service is relaxed and unhurried, we arrived late for dinner one night however the owners remained open for us. A must visit away from the rush of the city. Fantastic variety on the menu and I'm sure they would accommodate your every wish.

The starters (Dim Sum, Wantan Soup and spring rolls) were from frozen products. The main courses are ok, but do lack any kind of complexity. The level of the food is from a takeout. Service was good and fast, but overall the food was disappointing.

Heel erg lekker gegeten: kwaliteit die Aziaten lekker vinden! Lieve bediening en Indonesisch kunnen praten. De Babi Pangang is erg lekker, vraag om de saus apart te serveren. Lekkere groenten met grote stukken tofu i oestersaus helemaal goed gekruid!

Very cozy place. The pekin duck is delicious! Very tidy and atmospheric. Also, while we were there a lot of chineese people stopped there to eat and chat, so I guess the food should be also authentic :) Although, I am not an expert in chineese cousine at all.

Nummer 67 uit het boek Chin.ind.spec.restaurants - een verdwijnend Nederlands fenomeen. Wij hebben hier gegeten Ti Paan Kai. Itt andere restaurants wordt hier aan tafel het gerecht op de sissende plaat gedaan. Ziet er spectaculair uit. Het gerecht blijft verder hetzelfde. Erg lekker. Goed van smaak. Daarnaast hadden we de Double chicken (Nasi Goreng). Deze was ook goed. Aardige bediening. Zeker de moeite waard om nog een keer te komen. Op loopafstand van het museumplein.

Dimsum was good. Hot and sour soup was just OK. It lacked black mushrooms and bamboo shoots but had chunks of chicken. Chicken Satay was smothered in peanut sauce rather than offered as dip. Fried lumpia spring rolls were flat but crispy.

#LetsGuide a very good Chinese restaurant. Even in my jong years they were there. And for the staff : happy gambling!

Lovely service. Good portion. Nice flavours. We didn’t have it but saw the sizzling actually being cooked next to you, on a sizzling hot plate. ‘That’ would’ve been an experience!

Ouderwetse Chinees,zoals wij dat in Nederland al bijna 100 jaar hebben, de ouderwetse grote loempia's, heerlijke Chineese tomatensoep lekker dik met veel kip,of bami goreng met babi pangang of kettjap!

We came to this restaurant during our journey in Amsterdam. The taste of the food was amazing, the customers were very kind. At the end they even gave us chocolates and sweets! One of the best dinners ever!
