I tasted the best roti in Utrecht at Nishe's Place! A great place to enjoy delicious Surinamese food at the ASW! I would definitely recommend it.

There aren't many places where you can get good roti, especially not in Utrecht. We were pleasantly surprised that the roti from Nishe's place was very tasty. The baras, however, were disappointing. Not fluffy, more like a block of dough. They came from the freezer, which doesn't do them any favors, just like the container that's supposed to be potato chutney. But we'll definitely be back for the roti.

Fantastic catering experience at Nishe’s Place! I recently used Nishe’s Place's catering service, and I can't express my complete satisfaction. The food was truly delicious; the roti was fresh, flavorful, and exactly as it should be. You could taste the care and love that went into the preparation. Furthermore, the service was excellent. Communication was smooth, everything was delivered on time, and the portions were generous. My family was thrilled and even asked where the food came from. You couldn't ask for a better compliment.

We ordered bara's and pastries and they were delicious! We ordered more, but they were all gone. The pastries were generously filled and simply irresistible. The communication was also excellent: very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

Ordered a chicken roti, but the roti plate was missing the chickpeas. There wasn't much chicken for the 18 euros. It was also bland. I won't be ordering from them again anytime soon.

At Akko (same street) you get better filled and also fresh sandwiches! Way too expensive for what you get

Nice place. Ordered vegetarian nasi and chicken noodles to go. Decent portions with some long beans, pickled cucumber and onion, and some lettuce. The nasi and noodles were way too salty. The large chicken leg was a bit dry. The tempeh could also be more flavorful. Perfect for people who don't like spicy food.

a child of about 6/7 years old who asks you at the cash register what you want???? 2 chicken curry sandwiches and a portion of chicken curry noodles 26 euros????? staff that doesn't even know the menu even though it's on the menu!! chaotic bunch, I got something here once before and it was okay, now for the second time but I'll give them a BIG ANGLE to go to Akko further down the street!!!

Not tasty, old chicken, no flavor, not warm enough. Threw it away. It's a real shame, I don't think they're doing a good job.

The grimy roti was okay, but nothing special. The nasi was disgusting, made with cheap, broken Surinamese rice. And it was black with soy sauce. Furthermore, the place was full of bearded men who said "wollah" after every sentence. The atmosphere was awful. The food was mediocre. It's a shame I got takeout.

Ordered by phone and had to wait an hour, but only 15 minutes to pick up... for a couple of sandwiches...

Recently got my first delicious roti, and went back the same week. Delicious! And fast, too.

When you call, the phone rings normally but there's no recording. Google says they're open, but their website doesn't offer much either. When you get there, there's a sign saying they're on vacation until August 29th. A week later, the same story. When you get there, the sign has changed to September 9th.

Okay, the roti was soft, but that chicken... It looked like the salt shaker had fallen into the chicken. My roti roll was so salty, I pulled a sour face. My companion thought I was complaining, until they tasted it themselves. Every bite was so salty. Expensive. Once every six months. The service was good and friendly.

I went yesterday to buy roti. But I got one roti without anything for €14.95, so I left.

Always friendly people, always delicious food. I've had takeout from here three times now, and it was always on time or I had to wait a little while, which wasn't a big deal. They also have excellent sambal. In my opinion, the best roti in Utrecht.

Good food but you should not be in a hurry. Tent opens at twelve but you do not have to come for the first half hour. That is used for preparation and you will not be helped.

Today for the first time and very friendly welcome, beautiful and hygienic shop. I had a bowl with shrimp curry and cod. Wow, this was really great, tasty, and the feeling as if you are eating at home with mother or grandmother in Suriname. Delicious and absolutely my regular place from now on.

I'm sorry to say but the food is really not tasty.. Really tasteless and saltless. I didn't eat the roti roll I ordered. Not recommended in my opinion.

Today I went for the saoto, chicken satay and curry legs. The employee told me that Nishe's Place always wants to sell food the way they like it at home. Personally, I think you can taste this in every bite. And don't forget: delivering quality takes time. So whether you order takeout or it, appreciate the time they take to make your food right for you!

I had the roti with chicken curry, it was just good! Friendly people in the store, that was great. And another little tip: the fresh ginger drink from the refrigerator, which is great!

Either I am too spoiled with the Su kitchen or other reviewers are not used to anything, but I occasionally read the tastiest bara, well I am very sorry but this was the worst, toughest and least fresh bara I have ever eaten, I wanted I ate it because I hate throwing food away, but no, I spit out the last bite and threw the rest away. I also read reviews about watery roti, well my roti roll was on the dry side.

What a wonderful man Nishe is. It's not just his food that is extremely good. What is made by his family and where you really taste authentic cuisine. His friendliness and hospitality are the reason why I always stop by to pick up something. I hope to enjoy his food for years to come.

Disappointing experience. It was very tasty, but the roti duck was inedible - all the meat had sticky sharp bones, large and small. Because of this you simply couldn't eat it, you couldn't fish them out (too small). A shame, because the roti lamb was tasty. Friendly owner

Today I ordered 2 chicken, 1 vegetarian roti and a telo nishe's place to pick up, I can only say very satisfied. Tasty authentic roti shop, you won't find anything better in Utrecht. Bought bara for the first time here in Utrecht 😊 already bought bara in various places in the Netherlands. Bara itself is tasty, good to eat, I thought it was a shame that it came from a microwave, but understandable considering the work and if you don't have 1000th customers per day. But you always feel the difference (bara feels soggy), in terms of bara it is thick and tasty. Colleague had chicken and I had lamb + points that it was tender lamb, I once ordered lamb in another city and I got half of it with cow in it. + points spiciness (sambal) and sweet and sour cucumber also tasty. I did have a piece that had no filling in it. The one with chicken was more filling Conclusion: recommended if you are in Utrecht to drive by to get a bara. Employee was very friendly and many + points.

Really super tasty! It is now number 1 with us as the best roti chicken fillet in Utrecht. The baras are also super tasty. The only downside is that the portion could be a bit larger!

We ordered saoto (2x 9 euros) and 1x roti 15.95. For the price you expect flavors that come together well, the roti is really bland! The potato is boiled with water, resembles a Dutch potato and the chicken is seasoned but the flavors do not come through. Didn't eat the roti. The saoto was better, but unfortunately not at all what we are used to.

Ordered roti and sauto but it tastes of nothing, watery chicken, almost no masala. Watery potato and beans. Waste of money Sauto was also very mediocre. No, absolutely not recommended.

Clean place and very friendly staff, but unfortunately the bakkeljauw was very dry and the worst thing was that a piece of steel, I think from a wire brush, was pressed to the bottom of the bread. Today I ate Nishe's meals for the first time (delivered) and it was delicious! Lamb was very tender and the chicken fell off the bone. Long beans were probably fresh and everything tasted good. Great portions, recommended!

Ordered a hot chicken sandwich a few times, but then you got a sandwich without sambal. Which is not a hot chicken sandwich. A waste of my money.

I ordered some sandwiches here. The chicken sandwiches were tasty. The cod sandwiches were a bit on the dry side. This was partly because no Surinamese bun is used, but a kind of Turkish tip. This provides an abundance of bread flavor and drowns out the bakkeljauw flavor. Shame.

Yesterday I ordered a Roti Doksa from Thuisbezorgd and unfortunately it was not entirely to my liking. The next day I had already received an email from Thuisbezorgd that I could call Nishesplace and that they would like to compensate me with a new roti! Went by the same evening and were greeted very politely and had a chat; very nice people. In the end I went for Lamb Roti instead of Doksa (I would rather have something without the bone ;)) and it was really great! Never before had such tender lamb and very nicely seasoned. I also added a Barra Bakkeljauw and it was also delicious: not too salty and the Barra was not too soggy or soaked in fat like at some other Roti places in Utrecht. Thank you again for the very good service and I will definitely visit again. :)
