Cozy place with delicious food. We were very well taken care of.

I love Surinamese food, and this restaurant offers a nice variety of dishes. The food was excellent. My dinner companion found a bone in his chicken fillet, but that happens. The service was a bit jovial, but I think it suits the ambiance.

Very tasty and very friendly staff! Highly recommended. It's just a shame there weren't any fish dishes available.

Food was delicious, music was nice, toilet was clean only a loose toilet seat. Drinks could have been asked more often. But definitely worth repeating.

Not the hippest restaurant in Utrecht, but take your time and our hardworking colleagues will provide you with delicious food! We enjoyed Roti chicken, Roti Javanese chicken, Moksi meti and the Bami rames. What a party!

The Roti was delicious! It is not like RoepRam in Suriname. Fortunately not watery. The Nasi also tastes good, but I won't eat that until tomorrow. Have a nice time there guys. You don't have to believe my words. If you taste it yourself, you will definitely come back for more ;)

Nice place to go out for dinner! Something different than a standard dinner. Delicious. (For me as a Dutch person). The service was genuine and friendly. Just, as it should be, not nervous or rushed. This while he was quite busy. You noticed that they value service quite highly, from the right heart. The Javanese roti I had was good. The same goes for the noodles. Just a classy meal, where you notice that your body is doing well. My cousin was also very satisfied. Overall a good experience!

Food always tasty and affordable. The portions have become smaller, but still sufficient. The atmosphere is nothing special, but overall fine. However, the service is a different story. The hostess is often blunt, slow and has no regard for service at all. You would think that after so many years it would be possible to learn something new, but there has been no improvement. She is friendly, but keep in mind that you ask for drinks in time, because she will not easily ask for them herself.

Delicious Surinamese food. Well-seasoned roti and nasi goreng and petlj without being too pedis. Very friendly service and a quiet environment. Friendly prices. Recommended!

Worst experience ever! We came in at 7:30 PM and were finally able to order. At 8:45 PM we still had no food. In the meantime, people came to pick up their orders and went home. The owner of the restaurant continued with his work without mentioning that the food might take longer than usual. We then decided to leave. At no point did the owner ask why we were leaving. Please people, save yourselves time and energy and go eat somewhere else.

My favorite restaurant in Utrecht for years!

I've lived in Utrecht for decades, and I ate at Pomo for the first time this week. With my first bite of the nasi rames and the chicken satay, I immediately fell in love with the food, and I don't often write this in a review! With the addition of a little sambal, the dish was absolutely perfect. My friend ate roti with chicken feet, which was her first (she is from China) and in my opinion the best roti she has had. The people are extremely hospitable and I hear, see and feel the love they give for their food. I'm so happy that we have so many good and authentic restaurants in Utrecht.

I was looking for a Surinamese restaurant in Utrecht and Pomo came up in the search. Decided to check it out and I was not disappointed at all. The owners were super friendly and warm, welcoming me in even without a reservation (it was on Saturday evening). I had chicken sate and Roti Lams (lamb curry with flat bread). The sate was scrumptious and the lamb was so tender and flavorful. The place was full by 7pm and I can see the reason why. I would totally recommend this place for anyone who’s visiting Utrecht.

Delicious food. You shouldn't be in a hurry (but isn't that always the case?), but the service is super friendly and personal. I'll definitely return.

Once again we picked up a very tasty roti chicken curry, delicious!

Peanut soup phenomenal!!! Saoto wasn't special. We found the pom and veggie noodles tasty, but not exceptional. Lots of vegetables and good portions. Nice man at the counter, a bit messy here and there.

Dinner was delicious. Still like in 1984 when I lived in Utrecht. We enjoyed the food so much. It was warm inside, but we took that for granted. And if you had a question, they would think along with you. I say: Top restaurant!👍🏾🎉

Very good Javanese and Surinamese cuisine that is worth discovering. Recommendation: Moksi Meti. The warm hospitality more than compensates for the somewhat simple furnishings.

Wow wow the food was delicious!!! The peanut soup was so delicious, slightly creamy. It was really a party for your taste buds. The moksi meti was delicious, you could taste the love. I have eaten moksie many times but this one tops it. I will definitely come back again.!!!!

Een van mijn favoriete restaurants in Utrecht. Het eten is er heerlijk en bediening altijd vriendelijk. Tip: ga niet als je haast hebt, het kan wel even duren maar het eten is het wachten absoluut waard.

This is probably one of the best restaurants in Utrecht, for the food mostly. At first walking in, you're not so sure but then the staff are super friendly and the food is delicious! Wow!

Eten is heerlijk, smaakvol en heel mooi opgemaakt. Zelfs voor het meenemen. De saté is legendarisch. De rest is ook geweldig. Het is luchtig, en smaakvol. Je proeft Suriname bij iedere hap. En de mensen zijn altijd aardig, hoe druk het ook is. Geen poeha, wel aandacht. Ik kom hier echt heel graag.

Je komt hier echt voor de keuken, heerlijk.

Lekker eten en vriendelijke bediening. Sommige drankjes waren aan de zoete kant, maar wel erg lekker en ik kreeg er een glaasje water bij om het iets minder zoet te maken. Top service. Eten duurde iets langer en echt het wachten waard.

Heerlijke nasi en pitjel, pindasaus, echt super lekker! Nog lekkerder dan in Rdam wat ik gewend ben.

Fantastisch gegeten voor een zeer betaalbare prijs. Geweldig aardige gastheer/eigenaar met een olifantengeheugen. Hier kom ik zeker terug, al was het maar om nog een keer te proberen het exacte recept van de sambal aan hem te ontfutselen.

Er zit weliswaar liefde in de gerechten, maar als je eenvoudige Surinaamse afhaaltenten gewend bent dan kan dit restaurant misschien je tegenvallen qua hoeveelheid eten en snelheid van de bereiding.

Er is echt niks lekkerder dan roti java met saté ajam op een vrijdag avond. Top eten altijd!

Die Location hat keinen besonderen Flair. Dafür ist das Personal sehr authentisch und freundlich. Und die Speisen waren wirklich besonders und sehr schmackhaft. Tolle Gewürze und alles sehr üppig. Die Preise sind der aktuellen Situation und Zeit angemessen. Tipp: Unbedingt die Pindasoup probieren.

Spectaculair lekkere roti lams gegeten!

My favorite Roti thus far (disclaimer: im no expert but I’ve had my fair share of roti around Nl). Chicken slid off the bone. Veggies were well cooked and the Java sauce was excellent. Will definitely be back.

Walking around Utrecht I saw a few Surinamese places. Most were fast food joints. When I went out for dinner determined to try this cuisine I found they were all closed and Pomo was the only one open after 8pm. It was a 2-mile walk from my hotel and off I went. I took me to areas of the city I'd not been before near the university. The restaurant looked a bit classier on the outside than the neighbors. Inside was cozy. I asked the waiter what to get and he said Nasi Goreng Rames as it would give me a bit of everything. I LOVE peanuts so I also had the Pindasoep which is a chicken peanut soup. The Pindasoep was the most flavorful soup I've had anywhere in the world. I LOVED this. I thought it had a lot of spices but it turns out it is pretty simple. Everything on the Nasi Goreng Rames plate was wonderful. I can't wait to come back the Utrecht just to bring my wife here!

Lekker eten Duurde lang voor we ons eten kregen maar de bediening was heel vriendelijk en bedankte ons voor ons geduld. Sfeer was echt gemoedelijk en leuk.

We were excited to try Restaurant Pomo. Sadly, a combination of very slow service (took an hour to serve the starter) and average food disappointed us.

Heerlijk gegeten. Zeer sociale gastheer (in zijn eentje) dus het duurde wel wat lang maar het wachten meer dan waard. Prijs was zeer goed te doen en de kaart is redelijk gevarieerd. Ik kom hier graag een keer terug.

Afgelopen weekend hebben we hier met z'n vieren (mijn vrouw en twee pubers) heerlijk gegeten. Eindelijk weer eens de traditioneel gemaakte pindasoep! En lekker pittig. Verschillende gerechten op tafel: nasi, bami en de traditionele roti met kip. Zalig. Volgende keer een extra plaat (voor met z'n tweeën) erbij. De zaak is mooi gelegen tegenover de universiteits bibliotheek. De sfeer was prima, relaxed, ongedwongen. De eigenaar had (samen met zijn vrouw) voor iedereen tijd. Binnenkort maar weer eens naar toe gaan... Enige minpunt is dat ze niet bezorgen in Houten..;)

Unfassbar leckeres Essen in großen Portionen. Geschmäcker, die man so noch nie erlebt hat. Trotzdem sind die Preise angemessen. Die Bedingungen sind sehr sympathisch und humorvoll. Das einzige traurige ist, dass das Restaurant so weit weg ist von zuhause. Im nächsten Urlaub kommen wir wieder!

Ben daar gaan eten, ik ben zo als het goed is dan is het goed, heb de hotelschool door lopen en heb in de keuken gewerkt en heb in veel restaurants gegeten en ik kan zeggen dit restaurant is heel goed, de smaak is uitstekend het advies zo als het hoort en er wordt niet op tijd gelet je er op je gemak van het eten genieten van daar dat ik 3 keer 5 steren geef.

Heel smakelijk gegeten bij Pom en in Corona tijd ook afgehaald. Goede roti. Enige verbeterpunt is het vele plastic (verpakkingsmateriaal) bij afhalen. Dat kan inmiddels milieu vriendelijker.

Pomo is surinaams eten, geadviseerd door kennissen uit Suriname en Aruba. Echte kenners, daar kun je niet omheen! Als de roti zo goed is "als van oma" dan weet je dat je goed zit :) Voor ons - "blanda" & "indo" - was het smullen maar! De vriendelijke, goed gehumeurde bediening en de redelijke prijzen maakten de avond gezellig en compleet! We komen zeker weer terug!
