Scammed: They threw a small portion into the container of a large portion and sold it for a few euros more. Also, a small portion was incredibly meager for that price and tasted very bland.

I'd called ahead to pick up the food. It would take 20 minutes. When I arrived, I had to wait a bit longer, but that wait kept getting longer. After 45 minutes, I asked where it was; they'd forgotten it. They quickly popped it in the microwave, and while they looked at me sullenly, I paid for regular roti and special roti, but only got two regular roti. It was a ridiculous meal; you couldn't even call it dinner.

Crisis here. Sandwiches too sparsely filled. Two sandwiches later, $14 poorer and still hungry! Very unfortunate because they know what good food is.

The food is always very tasty, ready super quickly and the service is fast and customer-friendly. I always take away, but I think it would be nice to actually sit there and eat again.

The veggie rotti was just water, no taste, not even salt, the potatoes were so hard and green beans instead of long beans were really scandalous, the rotti with chicken was as it should be

If you are vegetarian DO NOT GO HERE!!!! What they sell is too embarrassing for words: potatoes with green beans for €14, which is really shocking. I would be ashamed of myself if I sold that. If you look at DE HAPJESHOEK or ROTI CORNER in AMSTERDAM, where they understand that vegetarians/vegans also like good food, where they add delicious sweet tempe and spicy tofu, extra delicious vegetables, sometimes with pumpkin puree, yum, but this place gives vegetarian roti a really bad name!!!!! Scandalous.

Ordered take-out again last week. Unfortunately, we received the wrong order again. We have received the wrong order 3 times out of the last 6 orders. For me it means cycling 5km back and then another 5km home. You would expect an apology or some amends, but the owner is very unfriendly. Didn't even want to speak to me. We don't come here anymore. Friendliness, hospitality and service are unknown to this man.

Of course you come here if you fancy roti with chicken. Since I have experienced quite a few variations in quality of this dish in my life, I think I know what is really good and the rest. Aarti is in the latter category. It's okay, but not spectacular. The same applies to the restaurant itself.

The vegetarian roti only has beans and potato, not even sauce lol (9 euros)

Anyone who says that this is not the best Surinamese in Utrecht is simply talking. Personal favorite is chicken ketjap, deliciously spicy.

Pity. The vegetarian Roti only has potatoes and long beans, nothing else. 11 euros is really too expensive, especially if it is not even particularly tasty. Don't go if you eat vegetarian!

Deze Roti heeft onze dag gemaakt! Als het niet de spontane regenbuien waren, dan was het wel het feit dat we een enorm lange werkdag voor de boeg hadden op deze herfstachtige zaterdag in Oktober: we zaten er helemaal door heen. Zuchtend keken we elkaar aan tijdens het eerste kopje koffie van de dag. “Hoe komen we in hemelsnaam deze dag door?” Het vooruitzicht leek somber. Tot ineens onze zeer gewaardeerde collega Anniek de hoek om kwam. Met een vrolijke blik keek ze ons aan. “Jongens, even niet zo dramatisch, het valt echt allemaal wel mee” zei ze ons met een warme maar strenge toon in haar stem. “Maar Anniek, het regent, de zomer ligt in een ver verleden, de mandarijnen zijn zuur, de dagen zijn lang en als klap op de vuurpijl discussiëren we al dagen wat we vanavond gaan eten. We komen er gewoon niet uit. We willen gewoon de handdoek in de ring gooien!” Anniek keek ons strak aan. Hoe ze het deed weet ik niet, maar met haar blik lukte het haar om ons alledrie direct stil te krijgen van ons geklaag. “Even goed luisteren nu” zei ze kil. “Na regen komt zonneschijn, de mandarijnen laat je maar even liggen vandaag, de dagen worden korter met de dag en het is toch niet zo moeilijk: haal gewoon Roti vanavond!” En met die wijze woorden was het ons duidelijk. We moesten en zouden Roti gaan halen. Ik durft het bijna niet te zeggen, maar Anniek had gelijk. De Roti was onze hoop in bange dagen, de smaak en comfort die het ons gaf was genoeg om deze hele zaterdag om te draaien. Het was de beste dag ever! Dankjewel Eethuis Aarti, voor de heerlijke Roti en Bara. We zullen snel terug zijn wanneer we er weer doorheen zitten.

Aarti is wat mij betreft het beste Surinaamse restaurant in Utrecht. Je kunt er ter plaatse eten, binnen of op het terras. Maar ook afhalen. Ze zijn snel en vriendelijk. De gerechten zijn heerlijk!

Niet echt een aanrader, nasi veel te pittig, weinig komkommer, kiipsate wel lekker. De roti kip ketjap is ook geen aanrader, je proeft geen ketjap, lijkt op gewone jus...kortom, teleurstellend! Erg druk, zou hier niet meer zo snel nog een keer gaan eten.

Prima prijzen voor wat je krijgt. Je kunt zowel afhalen als daar opeten, er zijn meestal wel tafels vrij.

Eten was lekker maar niet wauw. We vroegen ei erbij, denkend dat je dan sambal ei krijgt. Het waren losse gekookte eieren. Geen kouseband maar sperziebonen bij de roti. En het eten was veeel te zout. Vriendelijk zijn ze wel ja!

Sehr leckeres Essen. Wir hatten Curry mit Hähnchenfilet und Ketchup Manis mit Hähnchenfilet. Serviert wurde es jeweils mit Kartoffeln und grünen Bohnen. Es war sehr gut gewürzt und wir kommen gerne wieder.

First time trying Surinamese food in the Netherlands, and absolutely loved it. New flavours, new dishes, in an authentic but also cosy restaurant located centrally in Lombok. Would definitely recommend it.

Voor het eerst bij Aarti gegeten… De plek is wellicht niet het meest uitnodigend net als de staf maar het eten is heerlijk! Lekkere broodjes, goed gelegd, en lekker pittig! Bij de roti krijg je geen komkommer/zuur, daar moet om vragen. Dat had ik graag vooraf geweten. Op de broodjes zit het wel. Goed op smaak, goed warm en prima portie. Wel iets te veel kousenband als je het mij vraagt. Maar aan de andere kant ook ruim voldoende goeie kip! Ik kom zeker terug.

Wat een heerlijke sfeer altijd hier.Jammer dat de vegetarische roti geen kousenband had maar 6 zielige blikboontjes met draden en zielige waterige saus Bara superlekker en volgende keer ga ik iets anders proberen. Kan gewoon een keer een missertje zijn.

Wij bestellen al meer dan 20 jaar roti bij Aarti, wat een feestje is dit. Heerlijk gekruid en netjes verzorgd, onze zoon woonde een half jaar in Zuid Afrika, keek echt uit naar de eerste keer roti van Aarti te eten bij terugkeer naar Utrecht

Gisteren heb ik telefonisch eten besteld en mijn collega’s hadden dit opgehaald. Het restaurant kan wel sinds 1983 bestaan maar wat was het eten enorm slecht. Roti was taai en de zijkanten waren dun. De bara was net een spons de olie kon je er wel zowat uitknijpen. Mijn collega had een nasi met kip. De nasi smaakte al en al naar zout. Het ergste was dat deze mensen niet eens weten hoe een rotiplaat klaargemaakt moet worden. De reden dat ik bij dit restaurant kwam was omdat roti4u dicht is. Liever naar roti 4u waar eten in ieder geval met liefde voorbereid wordt. Deze beoordeling kon ik niet laten aangezien ik nog nooit zo een slechte roti heb gegeten

Fijne plek om een hapje te eten. Zitgelegenheid buiten. Personeel heel attent en vriendelijk. We hadden een broodje kip en broodje lam. Erg smakelijk en lekker pittig!!! Per broodje € 3.95.Wij komen zeker terug.
