NK Thai Noodles in De Weteringschans

This is a good thai restaurant for Amsterdam. Their green curry actually tastes better than most of the places I have tried in Amsterdam. Most green curry in Amsterdam is so sweet that it tastes like a dessert! This actually has a little heat, salty, and a thai basil flavour. Has aubergine, bamboo shoots, red chilli, basil leaves, green beans. Pad see yew is really good too with some "wok hey". The grilled beef is good.

I ate there yesterday. The food was enjoyable, but I got food poisoning right after. I never expected this to happen. We had coconut tom yum soup and a different type of noodles with it. Quite disappointed, because we actually enjoyed it at first…

Outstanding food and excellent service! I had the Pad See Ew with shrimp and a homemade Thai green tea, and both were absolutely delicious. The noodles were perfectly cooked with great wok flavor, the shrimp were fresh, and the balance of sweet and savory was spot on. The Thai green tea was refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant had a clean, relaxed atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu. Highly recommended!

Poor service, little attention to the customers, lots of rushing and attitude

Definitely the best Thai food in Amsterdam (even Netherlands). Comparing to other Thai restaurants, this one makes food with richer and multi-layered food flavours. But it’s not a big restaurant so it’s better to make a reservation.

Everything was fine. When we arrived there was a waiting line. This was the greatest assurance on the quality and popularity of this restaurant. The food had fresh ingredients, very tasty and healthy. Excellent service and staff too.

The Pad si ew with tofu and vegetables was very tasty!

The Thai music and staff chatting loudly in Thai instantly brought me back to Thailand. Loved it, and hearing plenty of Thai spoken among the other customers too tells you all you need to know about how authentic this place is. Big menu with loads of variety. I went for the beef noodle soup and the noodles tasted homemade. The table had the full condiment to choose from so I could season it myself, exactly like any proper Thai spot should. Clean, comfortable, easy to enjoy solo but clearly good for families and bigger groups. I’ll be back for the papaya salad.

I came in about 10 minutes before closing and completely understood when they initially said the kitchen was already closed. But then the lady actually came running after me and said they could still make my order to go, which I really appreciated. I ordered the Pad Thai and it was absolutely delicious. The portion was also really generous. Great food, amazing service, and such a kind gesture even right before closing. Thank you so much. I’ll definitely come back on my next visit to Amsterdam!

The service is terrible, we waited 45 minutes for 2 main courses when the restaurant was half capacity. Tables that came after us finished their meal before we had even received ours. We asked 3 times where the food was and the reply was always “It’s coming”

What a wonderful experience this was. I stopped by and was immediately surprised by the amazing atmosphere. It really is a lovely place to sit quietly for a moment and enjoy a good meal. The bowl of soup tasted truly fantastic. The combination of the fresh coriander with the crunch of the finely chopped nuts, in particular, made it perfect. Everything was taken care of down to the last detail, and I really enjoyed it. I will definitely be back here soon.

Across the door they have a place with lots of nice sweets. They let us try something with coconut. It was super fresh and unique. Thank you for the person who let me try the small cute dessert!

If you wish to have authentic Thai with lots of spices and herb, this is the place for you (a bit of spicy tolerance required and their noodles with soups are amazing!) We found this place purely by chance and we visit them regularly.

We were looking forward to some Thai food and tried this place during lunch. I ordered the Tom Yum noodle soup. It was quite good and had a very decent amount of noodles in it. I also liked the Oliang coffee.

We arrived 20 min before closing (at 9:40pm on a Sat evening) and they wouldn't serve us. 1 star for now until we actually get served during open hours.

The extra charge for card payments is such a nonsense. It does not make a difference, but it's a psychological stupidity that ruins the experience. It takes a genius to bother customers like this.

Hey, can you tell me how much longer it's gonna take for you guys to process my refund? When I was eating there, I kept telling you that my bank already showed the whole payment went through, and they couldn't issue a refund themselves. But your staff kept pushing me to bug the bank, saying it had nothing to do with you guys, it was all the bank's problem. After I called the bank, they clearly said both orders already settled, the money's not in their hands anymore. When the hell are you gonna stop dragging your feet and give me my money back? I got charged twice for one single meal, this whole experience sucked so bad, asking you to refund the extra charge is like pulling teeth! You guys kept making excuses saying you're super busy, and kept promising it'd be done soon. I sent my bank info to your email ages ago! Does processing a bank transfer refund even take two whole minutes of your time?

Good place, welcoming staff. It's nicer to eat in the back room overlooking the courtyard. Be careful with the spices... we had the Thai chicken noodles! They can be a bit spicy! Generous portions and affordable prices for the city!

Truly a hidden gem. On our way to the Heineken factory tour we saw this outside from the tram. Food/Service is top ten and judging by the crowd this place is pretty popular. The food mirrors a restaurant you find in Bangkok. We got the pad thai and the beef noodle soup which was amazing. Be sure to add the condiments. The back tables has great view of the canals.

I had an unforgettable plate of beef kraprauw last winter to the point that I’ve been craving and hunting for the best taste beef kraprauw all over Amsterdam these two months. I went again for kraprauw here early April, but not as good as last time I had when the shop is located at the old site. Wondered if you replaced the chef. Tom yum soup noodle is also quite special and tasty. Papaya salad and spicy beef soup is not very special from my experience.

Worst expierience ever. We had been waiting for 30 minutes, cause they just forgot about our order and it absolutely didn't worth it, when it was finally served. 22 euros for a bief, that is 3 times smaller than at the photo in menu. Noodles were not bad. We also asked for coconut water and recieved aswer, that there's no left. After 10 minutes we see how other customers order this water and now they've got from somewere. As conclusion i would not recommend it. There are a lot of better places in the city

Great Thai spot. Small place somehow still feels spacious. Prices are reasonable, service is fast, and the food arrives with the confidence of a place that knows exactly what it’s doing. Honestly just point at anything on the menu and you’ll probably leave happy. Very little overthinking required here. Would definitely come back.

We picked that place for the review and everything, atmosphere and stuff was very cool and fast, however the dishes were very very spicy, we just ordered pas thai and grilled vegetables with chicken which i eat everywhere in my life and never drop of spicy, i couldn’t even eat half of my meal because after first spoon i felt like a dragon. If you like spicy food this is cool, but for me it was a disaster.

It tastes close to authentic Thai food. However, it seems to be about 10 times more expensive than on the mainland. It is a good place to visit when you are getting tired of Western food. I tried the Yen Ta Fo because I was curious, but I recommend the Tom Yum.

I wrote a review 3 years ago, but it's time for a new one. I ate the very best Pad Thai Shrimp I have ever eaten in my life here. Always so incredibly delicious, a real treat. I hope they never close, because I don't know where I would get my Pad Thai then. The rest is also very good.

So delicious! The papaya salad with crab and fermented fish sauce (5 chilies) is the best! Check out the review photos; they have pickled crab, pickled in-house by the chef. Authentic Thai taste, truly delicious. Other dishes were also amazing. I wasn't disappointed at all. The owner, the chef, and the staff are all very lovely and provide excellent service. The food arrived quickly and the portions were huge! Convenient location. Extremely impressed! 🫶💖😋

The food was either very salty or very sweet, a rather extreme taste of Thai cuisine. The beef was stale, so avoid ordering it. Note that paying by card will incur an extra dollar charge. The table manners were somewhat unseemly, but the service was acceptable.

Visiting after renovation and move to next door location: unfortunately the food is already different from before.. The pad Thai had very little chicken and smaller portion. The Tom ka soup with chicken again, barely chicken in it... 2 small pieces, not more.. I had a tom yam, vegetarian option and by mistake they brought it with chicken! I was in shock to discover that after having a few spoons! For me it's really a bad thing to eat broth where chicken was in it.. The waitress was ashamed and apologized bringing a new, vegetarian one but no discount or complementary thing to compensate the serious mistake. The service was soooo confused. Waiting for so long to order extra food after the first round of orders.. Then we managed to order the last soup and it took ages to come. We had to ask again and again... The atmosphere is not like before... Such a pity.. It feels like a random good looking, modern restaurant, no personality at all compared to the previous location. Didn't visit anymore tbh. Best pad Thai of Amsterdam, pretty good portion, authentic taste, with shrimps, not many but fresh. I didn't try other things but I know that the best selling beef soup with meatballs is also very good. Normal price for Amsterdam. My pad Thai was 20 euros. Place is not that fancy. Not busy at lunch time. Fast service. I recommend it

While visiting Amsterdam found this restaurant a short walk from the Rijksmuseum and nearby canal tours on the 1, 7 and 19 tram line. At first the lady who greeted us on entry ask if we had a reservation, (which we did not) then a lady who I believe to be a manager told the greeter to go ahead and seat us at an available table for 2 (we got lucky and got a table in less than 5 mins). The greeter explained that at peak dining hours they require a reservation. During our stay it was very busy with people coming and going, and at times there was a line of people waiting for tables. The food was excellent 👌 and what I would have expected from a authentic Thai restaurant. Diner for 2 (appetizer, 2 main course dishes and a beverage each) cost us €25 per person! The food and service was great and had it not been my last day in Amsterdam I would have possibly made a second visit. My recommendation to anyone planning to dine here is to make a reservation to avoid long waiting times for a table. Enjoy!!

The food was amazing everybody was so nice it's very family friendly and we did not have to wait at all for the food which was great. Best of all, it was halal. Reminded us of the good old days back in Singapore.

The flavor is spicy, savory, and perfectly balanced with sour, sweet, salty, and spicy notes—it's so good you can't stop eating it! The pad Thai is also amazing. The BEST Thai food in the city. If you miss authentic Thai food - this will satisfy your cravings. Get the noodles for sure - the portions are giant! The Tom Yum was outstanding - you can feel the love for the food with every bite. I asked for extra chili because I love when food is so spicy your lips tingle. I walked in and I was the only person who was not asian so I knew I was in the right spot! I was transported back to Thailand. Milk tea was perfect and not too sweet. Atmosphere was relaxed, the servers were kind. Great spot for eating with friends, solo dining or date night. Next time I come back, I will try the green curry. Already dreaming about it.

The same dish Liu Jie recommends is great! The Tom Yum noodles are delicious, and the fried noodles are good too. It's a bit much to pay an extra 1 euro if you use a credit card.

We stumbled into this because we liked the smell, and it was sensational! The beef noodle soup had an impressive variety of beef forms, really good still crunchy veggies, and one of the best broths I've had in my life. The pad thai was a really tasty version of the classic. We failed on the hot sauce front, we know to be careful in such an authentic restaurant, but there was sooo much taste to everything even without chiles. What other people were having looked really good too, there will definitely be repeat expeditions, yummm!

We had Som Tum, Tom Yum soup, Green curry and Pad See Ew - all delicious!! This is an authentic Thai restaurant, just like being in Thailand. The portions are generous and the food is delicious. If you're tired of European food and feeling homesick, this is the place you should come to.

I went in the evening and it was very crowded. Once I was seated, the food came out faster than I expected, and it was all delicious. It was a flavor that was hard to find in Europe, spicy, sour, and sweet, and it satisfied that need.

The pattya has a spectacular flavor, although for me the pasta needed a little more cooking.

Extremely mediocre food. Ordered Pad Thai with chicken and they only gave a few crumbs of chicken with a huge plate of noodles. Did not appreciate skimping on the meat while charging such high prices. Service was very low and it’s too loud in here. I’d venture to say pass on all Asian food in Amsterdam, it’s not at all authentic or well done here.

They make it authentically spicy and flavorful. Som tam is legit. The people are smiling and welcoming. Great hospitality. Must visit if you miss the warmth (and heat!) of Thailand!

Curry and pad Thai were really nice as well. I prefer the grilled chicken than the grilled beef as the chicken is more tender, although both are very tasty!! It’s my new fav Thai restaurant in Amsterdam! Definitely recommend! Also I do recommend to call to make a reservation as people were waiting outside for dinner when we left.

We arrived here on a Saturday evening around 9 p.m., and there were still a few tables available. The noodle soup with beef was delicious. We were served immediately, and drinks (non-alcoholic) arrived right after we placed our order. The noodle soup arrived about 10 minutes later. Fast and friendly service, fresh, delicious—everything you expect from good noodles! 100% recommended.

Was craving Asian flavors so decided to go here based on positive reviews. Unfortunately, our experience left us feeling disappointed especially since it’s 4.8 on google. Papaya salad - flavors were there, but the papaya didn’t seem fresh. Seemed like it was shredded days ago and sitting in the fridge for some days. Tom Kha - i liked the flavors, but the shrimp was mushy as if the soup has been reheated and reheated again. I couldn’t eat the shrimp because of the texture. Pad Thai - was not pad Thai. Came with stir fried vegetables. Bland. Couldn’t eat it at all. More like stir fried noodles wjth vegetables with a touch of tamarind. Green tea in pot - very bland as well. Teabag used, not leaves. I did tell the server about the pad Thai and shrimp (as we couldn’t eat it). They didn’t do anything about it and still charged us for all items although we barely touched the pad Thai.

I had dinner here two days out of four during my visit to Am. It was packed, but there was almost no wait. The Tom Yum Goong noodle soup was just right for me, with a generous portion and a nice sour and salty taste. The Thai milk tea was also good. Paying by credit card requires an additional €1 service charge.

I was traveling in Europe for half a month and missed Asian food so much, so I walked into this Thai restaurant. There were a lot of customers and I had to wait a while. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. It was great.

Nice cozy little thai place, with a good menu. They have a special page just with isaah food which I want to try. This time I had their pink noodles, and they were a bit special but I liked them. The soup was a bit sour but also savoury and rich and thicker than i expected. Various seafood in there. The noodles were a bit spongy and transparent but i liked them. Overall i liked the soup, but i am more excited to try their other dishes too. Service was friendly.
