We had a fantastic meal at Olde Marckt in Aalten. The dishes were delicious, well-seasoned, and expertly prepared. A delicious Port from my own vintage was conjured up from the fantastic wine cellar (thanks for the tour :-)). To finish, they made crepe Suzette, not even on the menu, but incredibly well-executed. Definitely a place to return to.

It was a sunny Monday afternoon, and we decided to grab a bite to eat at Restaurant de Olde Marckt. We were treated to a wide selection of appetizers before embarking on the 7-course menu. A menu brimming with beautiful ingredients and delicious flavors. The excellent wine list is also well-presented, and the service is very friendly and welcoming. We had a fantastic afternoon and will definitely be back.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves again; from the delicious appetizers we received beforehand, the always fantastic oysters, the very tasty main course, to the fantastic pavlova dessert!

We had a delicious 5-course dinner here on June 1st. Dishes are definitely prepared here at a high level. All dishes are served beautifully, without being too pretentious. The atmosphere is relaxed. The service is very attentive, thinks along with you and really makes you feel at home. The owner had heard that it was our wedding anniversary and gave us a nice surprise afterwards. Highly recommended!

Had a fantastic meal on the atmospheric terrace last night. We chose the 3-course menu and were also pleasantly surprised with several amuses from the house. Every dish was a taste bomb! The service was very friendly. If we are ever in Aalten again, we will definitely come back.

Great food, great service. Out of nowhere, the owner started a right wing radical tirade about asylum seekers to people at a table behind us. Completely inappropriate and a reason for us not to return. Disgusting!

Zoals altijd was het wederom fantastisch. Wild stond er op het menu en ieder gerecht was een tractatie voor je smaakpapillen. Bram had zichzelf weer eens overtroffen. Ook het wijnarrangement paste er perfect bij. Direct gereserveerd voor het volgende culinaire spektakel.

Geen kouwe drukte hier bij de Olde Marckt. Relaxte ontvangst en eerst wat kleine hapjes voordat de menukaart wordt aangereikt. Amuses en voorgerechten waren altijd al bijzonder uitgedacht en gepresenteerd. En lekker. Maar nu ook de hoofdgerechten op top niveau. Haas voor de een en Kabeljauw voor de ander in een presentatie en smakenpalet dat de kwaliteit van de keuken laat ruiken, proeven en zien. Telkens bijpassende kwaliteitswijnen. Soms verrassend: Bulgarije, Georgië. Mmmmm .........Dick & Dinie

An update. Still an excellent restaurant with a nice ambiance and friendly service in the heart of Aalten. Dishes are really great now. Culinary treat by the current young chef Bram. Worthy of a Michelin star. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed this fantastic afternoon. Wild arrangement... what a taste experience. Here you can taste the taste and experience of people with enormous passion. Beautiful family... father, mother, host/hostess, you always feel very welcome, very hospitable, and super friendly. Son is the chef, a real star chef, what a passion for his profession. Ate at the Olde Marckt this weekend and had a fantastic evening! From the appetizers to the friandises, I enjoyed every bite. I also enjoyed the super friendly service who pampered us and recommended good wines. The chef regularly came to serve the plates himself. All in all it was a great evening!

Honestly… This restaurant is a disgrace to mankind. Me and my fellow co-workers were sent away after refusing to tip 20% on a 850€ bill. Honestly a horrific experience all in all🤢🤮.

I was there on Sunday with my grandparents. We are regular guests and always enjoyed coming. Oh well. After the main course we were asked if everything was OK, to which I said that I didn't like the food, especially the sauce tasted very bitter and burnt. But I also said that I couldn't quite describe the taste, I just didn't like it. But the vegetables would have been ok. Afterwards we received the dessert menu with a cheeky comment from the host, I shouldn't say that the food was burnt. Then I said that I never said that the food burned, but that the sauce tasted that way. He then continued to discuss it with me in a cheeky tone. We were all kind of perplexed at first because it was just super disrespectful and especially in front of the other guests. Ultimately, if I didn't like the food, it's my opinion. Of course, I would have paid for it anyway, which is why I'm wondering why people would make such a fuss when they explicitly asked me my opinion about the food beforehand. As a long-term customer, it was definitely the last time for us.

Fantastic restaurant in the center of Aalten. It was a couple of hours stay in the city. I am happy that border town has such sophisticated (in a good way) restaurant. I was very happy to find Cabernet Sauvignon from my favourite region in the wine list (even per glass!) both dishes I ordered were very tasty but eel with brioche was just outstanding!

Wir hatten das Menü, welches es nur tischweise gibt. Eine Vorspeise haben wir gegen Gebackene Gänseleber getauscht. Die Amuses mit kleinen knusprigen Hörnchen - gefüllt mit Lachs bzw. Huhn waren vielversprechend. Als weiteres Amuse gab es einen kleinen Becher einer Gamba-Suppe. Die war schon deutlich besser als das übliche. Das Tartar mit Parmesan war gut, die Gänseleber war sehr gut. Das Hirschrückenfilet war auf den Punkt, Das Gemüse dazu passte prima, war aber etwas wenig -Schwarzwurzeln und französische sehr kleine Pilze. Der kleine Salat hatte eine unauffällige Vinaigrette - vielleicht sollte er im Hintergrund bleiben. Auch der Nachtisch hat überzeugt. Der Abend hat sich gelohnt. Die Preis-Leistungsrelation war gut.

Ate here for the third time. Impressed by the quality and the fast and smooth operation. We ate a Tournedos and for dessert the crème brulée and finally coffee with some sweets. Will definitely come back here.

We hadden ons aangemeld voor het Wild arrangement. Het was in één woord... FANTASTISCH. Heb zo genoten en alle gangen waren even jaarlijks en mals. Een echte culinair belevenis in een warme en vriendelijke omgeving.

The food, service and price-quality ratio are excellent. The location is noisy. But this is certainly made up for by the quality of what is offered.

Wij hebben hier gedineerd door de ruime keuze aan wildgerechten. Dit restaurant bleek een echte parel! Een warme ontvangst bij aankomst. Verder is elke gerecht een unieke ervaring aan smaken. Elk gerecht heeft mooie keuze en balans van ingrediënten. Een hulde aan de keukenbrigade. Daar bovenop krijg je altijd een vriendelijk antwoord op je vragen, uitstekende wijn suggestie en topservice! Kortom een echte aanrader!

Recently walked in spontaneously on a Friday afternoon for lunch. We had the croquettes and the tuna salad, both dishes were excellent. Good portion for the money you pay, beautifully presented plate and professional service. The coffee was also very tasty. In terms of service also very good; heating a bottle for our son was no problem.

The Olde Marckt is by far the best restaurant in Aalten. In the 25 years, the Stoverink family's restaurant has become a household name for delicious food at a high level with a low accessibility threshold. Anyone who enjoys fantastic food and delicious wines should visit this place! The cook Bram is the son of Host Albert. After years of being a chef in a two-star restaurant, Bram has raised the bar of the restaurant. I won't be surprised if the restaurant is awarded a Michelin star in a while

This restaurant serves protected birds such as woodcock and stock dove.

How is it possible ? Protected bird species are served here. O.a. the woodcock. Heavily protected in our country. Is shot just over the border by the chef and then served here. Embarrassed on the cheeks. As a restaurant you simply shouldn't want this. Very bad example for the catering industry.

Nice village atmosphere and good food

How nasty if you are eating on the terrace and there is still plenty of smoking there. That shouldn't be possible!

Not very cheap, but the price-quality ratio is certainly in order. Enjoyed the 3-course summer menu. Nice and smooth service. And the only one open on Monday evenings. The terrace was nice and full.

Very hospitable lady, chairs were dried after a rain shower, had a delicious latte with nut cake with whipped cream. Inside it was a bit old-fashioned... it quickly became busier on the terrace, and they say they also have good food here, so I have to go back again😊

I am giving one star because I cannot give less. The food was okay but the waitress was extremely rude, she offered drinks and we told her we wanted two cappuccinos after the meal, then we gave their own water bottle to our children and soon after the same waitress approached very rudely asking if we were drinking our own water to which I respond that the kids were and I asked if that was a problem, to which the waitress responded “Yes, that is a problem” again as rudely as possible, in many places in the Netherlands kids can drink their own water. If in this restaurant was not allowed the waitress should have warned us in a kind manner, there is no reason to mistreat clients who are already paying for 4 meals and 2 cappuccinos (which at the end I refused to take there).
