Cozy, competitively priced, and very friendly service!

Cozy restaurant with great personal service. We had the shrimp risotto as a starter and for the main we had sole (@$50 was a bit much) and the skate was new to us. Both were prepared excellently. The wine was wonderful

Great dinner, fish very fresh and extremely well cooked. I ate a perfectly prepared whole sea bass. Super recommend.

We arrived at Klaas's around 9:00 PM in the camper, referred by Frans. We (4 people) decided to order only the starters and the delicious desserts. Nice atmosphere in this small restaurant, top-notch service, and delicious dishes.

The chef loves fish. You taste it every bite. Top.

We went to this restaurant on a recommendation and, based on the good reviews, were looking forward to a relaxing evening with good food. And to cut to the chase: we were utterly disappointed. It started with the behavior of the young man who was supposed to be the waiter and who initially completely ignored us. We and the other guests who had come with us received neither a greeting nor a menu. The young man was completely preoccupied with opening a bottle of wine for other guests, which clearly overwhelmed him. After waiting for fifteen minutes, we received the wine list and, upon request, the food menu. We were then able to place our order, and five paper-thin slices of baguette were placed on the table with oil and four olives. Then the waiter reappeared to take our order. We managed to convince him that we had already done so and were waiting for the appetizers. He apologized and brought the appetizers; he had forgotten the wine we had ordered, but brought it immediately after we pointed it out. An hour and a half after we entered the restaurant, the main courses arrived—tasty fish, but not much else. I won't even mention the annoying 70s and 80s music, the constantly flickering lights, or the complaints from other guests.

Overall, it wasn't a bad place. But it was a bit frustrating that the food took forever to come out, even though we arrived shortly after they opened. According to the server, it was because the chef(s) hadn't prepared the dishes yet. Usually, they start preparing things a little before opening so that the food is ready by then. Other than that, the food wasn’t bad. For a set price, you can choose any three dishes from the menu. The selection isn’t very large - it’s mostly just fish, with no seafood - so if that’s what you’re looking for, don’t try this place!

Food was very good quality and excellent in taste but It took almost an hour to serve our order. The people who came later than us got served before us. May be it could be what we had ordered but then similar order was delivered another person before us.

Very nice and small restaurant with delicious dishes

After first visit more than a year ago, I kept the remembrance of the this cozy „home-stile“ restaurant and tasty food. So I came here again to enjoy delicious fish dishes. Just love this place for their perfect way of serving seafood and relaxing atmosphere!

Very cozy and pleasant restaurant! The food was beyond our expectations as well, the sea bass was perfectly prepared and the cod was so tender it just melted in the mouth!

Very fresh, delicious, and healthy fish dishes, off the beaten track, in a friendly atmosphere. The chef sings and whistles along to 70s music, the wall decor is magnetic, and the wine completes the perfect evening. Authentic, honest, and simply hip.

Small, family-run restaurant. A nice selection of dishes and excellent wine to match.

Small shop near the centre, nice staff and relatively small menu. What is on the menu is very good! The shrimp carpaccio with Aioli is very tasty and the cod with broad beans is absolutely spot on. Prices are very reasonable, €47.50 for a three-course menu... we will come back here

A classic three-course restaurant. One of the best fish dishes in Amsterdam and arguably the best for its accompanying vegetables. No fuss, the menu is simple, with only three or four options. The kitchen is open, and you can hear the dishes being prepared. Everything is fresh, and it takes the time to prepare properly. Come early and relax; everything is delicious. (Same comments in 2023, 24, and 25.)

It's a very nice place. I haven't seen anyone prepare such meticulously prepared old food in a long time. It's a very cute place with 7 tables, run by three people. I recommend it.

Lovely restaurant, exquisite fish. The fish is of great quality and generous portions. I’ve been here twice now and both times it was cooked to perfection, which is all the more impressive given that the chef is doing everything on his own. The restaurant has a simple setting, and the waiters are kind and accommodating. Of course I’ll be back

Food is great. But the furniture is very old and cheap and the whole decor looks cheap. Too bad, because the food is top quality!

What a nice cozy restaurant, simply furnished, but with a very good chef in the kitchen! All 6 dishes were top notch, fish perfectly cooked, everything fresh, delicious sauces and a plate of extra vegetables, which were also perfectly cooked. Quality is top, price very reasonable!

Nice small and cozy restaurant, although a bit noisy. Take your time and be patient, the average waiting time per dish was an hour! The food is certainly good. However, our dessert, the chocolate mousse, was very poor. Our neighbors had the same dessert, only it was three times as big and with slices of fresh orange? A bit strange and because our mood at the end, due to all that waiting, was a bit less disappointing. The boy serving did his best but seemed a bit inexperienced. He deserved a compliment for trying to keep the atmosphere going, and therefore a tip. There seemed to be little support from the kitchen to make everything sell more smoothly. One fish, two fish… maybe the second time is better?

We had a bizarrely delicious meal at Klaas's. Super fresh fish with delicious asparagus and a divine sauce. Add top wine. Nice staff. Nice atmosphere in the small cozy restaurant on the Kadijksplein / Schippersgracht. We'll be back.

Lovely small restaurant. Great service and atmosphere. The food is good too, but the potions of the main were a bit on the small side, at least the cod was. I feel like the meme when I have to get a hotdog on the way home from a fancy restaurant 😉 also the creme brulee is not as great as the other dishes, just order another dessert.

What an incredibly nice and cozy restaurant; a true gem in the neighborhood! Delicious and casual dinner with delicious and well-prepared dishes. Highly recommended and I will definitely come back here. Extremely friendly staff.

Delicious food. Small but nice restaurant.

We were looking for a great seafood meal in an intimate setting for our vacation and that’s exactly what we got plus more. The server was fantastic, the chef made sure everything was on point and the value was beyond what we expected. We felt so welcomed there :)

Owner looked down on us and told us the only dish available was the most expensive one. I don't recommend if you don't like being scammed.

Food is delicious, but it takes so long. We received starter after 1 hour. Waitress has to write bill with pen like 20 years ago, it should be automatic on the computer, no wonder it takes so long.

Carte restreinte et c'est très bien. Plats préparés au moment, pleins de saveurs et délicieux. Le vin très bien choisi. Un moment chaleureux qui clôture la journée de visites.

De eerste keer gedineerd in het restaurant. Geen groot restaurant, maar dat hoeft voor mij ook niet. Ik vond het er knus en de ober was gastvrij. Met zorg zijn de gerechten gemaakt. Op de achtergrond hoorden wij muziek uit de jaren 60/70, zoals de Kinks en Procal Harum met Whiter Shade of Pale. Het eten was verrukkelijk en de muziek was nostalgisch genieten. We gaan zeker weer daar dineren. Nieuwsgierig geworden? Gewoon gaan dus.

Went there by chance, and had a wonderful cuisine experience! The haddock and sole were delicious, paired by delightful white wine and beer. Service was lovely, just go and experience it yourself!

Its a tucked away place opposite the maritime museum that i was quite surprised i hadn't noticed before. Simple menu, great flavors and a very warm and hospitable staff. I went with some mates by chance and had one of the best dinners in a long time. Go get some. Very dutch, very fish, very worth it!!!

Heerlijk gegeten, erg vriendelijke bediening. Lekkere wijn bij de vis. Er zou misschien iets meer keuze kunnen zijn voor vegetarische eters. En het interieur mag wel grondige aangepakt worden. Over de kunst aan de muur kun je niet twisten, maar het zou niet mijn keuze zijn.

Super fijn restaurant voor visliefhebbers! Huiselijke sfeer, je kunt er uren tafelen. Goede wijnen. Zeetong en kabeljauw heerlijk, fijne desserts. Mooie franse invloeden. Nu met vroege sluiting horeca eerder in de middag open voor de lunch. Jonge bediening, geen hoge verwachtingen van hebben dat zij de sfeer maken. Maar dat moet je uiteindelijk ook zelf doen!
