I've eaten there a few times now and it still doesn't disappoint me. However, due to the hot days, it's unbearable inside, which is why we unfortunately left a bit earlier. Of course, they can't do anything about that, but do keep it in mind.

Delicious food and a cozy atmosphere. An extra nice touch was that when we had finished eating and were having coffee, we were asked if we wanted to sit somewhere nice and cool, because it gets quite warm quickly at such a grill. Top service! Definitely recommended!

If it is hot outside, book a spot here; once you are done grilling your own food, and after enjoying excellent service, step outside—it will hardly feel like summer anymore and you won't be bothered by the heat.

Terribly arrogant man at the checkout who turned out to be the owner. A waitress spilled hot coffee on my coat and clothes while serving. As compensation, she promised me a voucher/discount at the checkout, which I thought was kind. When paying, I explained the situation and asked about it, and the owner (who was sitting behind the cash register) gave me an arrogant look and asked who had promised me that. Eventually, he called the waitress over and she confirmed the story. With great stinginess and without looking at me, he gave me 20 euros in cash as a discount after I had paid by card for the meal for 5 people. This man makes so much profit and then gives a discount for this with a heavy heart. I am never coming here again 😂

Nice staff, the food was good too, and the meat was nice and tender. I don't understand why people find this pricey. After all, you have a BBQ on the table with unlimited meat. If you don't like meat, you simply shouldn't be there, and good meat doesn't always have to be seasoned. I would prefer it to be a bit more expensive, but with more meat options. Or a more expensive package with, for example, 400 grams of tenderloin or similar premium cuts included. It is an experience, after all; anyone who can afford 45 euros can also spend 65, but for a more premium experience. The place itself certainly gives off a luxurious vibe.

Great since the partnership with Otsu, I eat here quite often a month and you especially notice that the service has really improved a lot, and congratulations to Chewie, he is a real standout.

We got diarrhea when we got home. Because it is dark there, we couldn't see properly if the chicken was cooked. If you left the meat on a little longer, it burned. The staff was sometimes hard to understand.

They charge 45 euros per person, but charge 3.95 for a small bottle. You don't even eat half a kilo of meat, but they charge around 60 euros p.p.. absurdly expensive. The meat isn't anything special either. First and last time. Not recommended. As for the service, I didn't see a single staff member with even a slight smile.

We reserved a table for 5 people. The communication, friendliness, and service were more than perfect. The food and drinks arrived very quickly, and we could have a perfect conversation without shouting or anything like that. If you're in Rotterdam, it's definitely worth going there.

After dinner, we both got very sick. Never eating there again.

Yesterday we walked past Ortam and asked if we could dine with 5 people. We were greeted kindly and were allowed to check in advance if the table was to our liking, as my wife is wheelchair-dependent. That was it; the restaurant looks atmospheric. At the start of the BBQ, everything was explained clearly. We thought the service was top-notch; empty glasses and bottles were neatly cleared away in between courses. The meat, sauces, etc., were placed on the table very quickly and neatly. In between courses, we were asked if everything was to our liking. The dessert was also delicious. The overall friendliness of the staff deserves a big compliment. This was our first visit to Ortam, but certainly not the last.

The problem with this restaurant is the service and customer friendliness. I haven't eaten there in years after experiencing an incident at this restaurant. Rude, arrogant, you don't feel welcome at all. There was a time when I ate here almost every week, but not anymore. The food is good, but the people are not worth the service at all.

All their animated ads online are AI-generated slop. Just cheap, generic, and honestly a bit embarrassing. It gives off the impression that the same lack of care probably extends to what happens in the kitchen. If you can’t even be bothered to present your restaurant with authenticity, why should customers trust the experience you’re offering?

We went for the all-you-can-eat BBQ with a group of 5. Nice and well-organized concept. BBQ on real charcoal. Food ordered via the QR code arrived quickly. The music was a bit too loud, though. It is already difficult to understand each other because of the extractor fan (which worked poorly), but the music makes it even harder. I definitely recommend the restaurant.

Had a delicious meal with colleagues. My first time barbecuing indoors on charcoal. The food was very good and tasty. The meat was well seasoned. Orders are delivered quickly, so you can keep eating. The only downside is that because you are barbecuing indoors, you do start to smell like BBQ. But a small price to pay for this experience.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious and everything looked great. The service was really good. We received friendly service and everything was taken care of quickly. Chevie, in particular, was very kind and helpful. He smiled often and made us feel welcome. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and would love to come back!

Charging €25 when booking and stating in the terms and conditions that if you arrive too early, they can ask you to wait outside seems rather unfriendly to me. I went anyway. There's little choice of food and side dishes. You can, however, order unlimited amounts. Desserts, on the other hand, are a different story. You can choose between a small sweet snack (it can't be called dessert) or coffee or tea. But you can't have two things unless you pay extra. When I ordered extra lamb chops for €12, I got three tiny pieces of less than 200 grams. Ridiculous. Otherwise, it's a nice place, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, and I certainly won't be back. It's a shame.

On Saturday, January 31, 2025, I went to Ortam BBQ restaurant for the first time. It's really delicious and a very nice concept! The meat is freshly prepared by you. Unfortunately, I have to say that after the meal, we didn't get our deposit back. Or an explanation that this isn't a deposit would have been nice. The deposit I had to pay through the website is to reserve a spot, prevent last-minute cancellations, and for other reasons. I understand that, but it's not very fair that customers who show up don't get their deposit back. €25 is plenty of money, you know. I understand that this is legally permissible, but please do it in such a way that the customer doesn't feel ripped off. If you say upon departure that the deposit has been cancelled on the receipt, of course, the customer would think they'd get a refund. I think that customers who don't show up should pay their deposit to the restaurant. I find this very contradictory, because looking at it this way, I've actually paid €108 instead of €83. This is a complete scam. I won't be coming here again!

The food was delicious. Good, fast service. The atmosphere was great with music. The BBQ was warm, but a bit chilly; the fresh air and good ventilation were nice. The wine was excellent. Overall, we had a very pleasant evening.

A truly unique experience! It was quite noisy with so many people and all those extractor hoods, so you had to be clearly audible to chat with your companions. Outrageous! You pay €45 per person for meat that has no flavor. Lamb chops cost an extra €12 for just 3 chops! Furthermore, you only get one tea and one mini dessert per person, which is included in the price.

We came this Friday, January 9th, as a group of four. The food was decent, and we were served very quickly, even too quickly for my liking (literally 30 seconds after ordering with the QR code). The meat was relatively good, but some pieces were frozen, which is a real shame for a concept like this. The service definitely needs improvement. The waitresses weren't at all friendly, my spoon was dirty, and they cleared our drinks before we'd finished them. Honestly, for a BBQ concept, I expected a minimum level of quality service. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the place is nice, but there were cigarette butts on the floor, and the restrooms were full of cleaning machines. In conclusion, it was pleasant enough, but nothing special. I think there are better options here in Rotterdam.

If you have to ask three times for clean dishes and still get dirty plates and forks, you're not a good restaurant. Cutlery with leftovers from the previous session... Luckily, we had our own alcohol and cleaning wipes. What a shame, we won't be returning to such a nice shop. This is just too expensive for what you get.

I had a very mediocre experience: we went for dinner with a group of friends at 8:00 PM on Friday evening. First, we encountered a very disinterested hostess who was on her phone. (Thankfully, she did welcome us afterward, haha.) Our criticism wasn't taken seriously when we settled the bill. The seating area was filthy, with food scraps all over the couch and under the table. The dishes weren't clean either. We had to ask for new plates and cutlery several times. The food was pleasant but not great. The selection of meats and vegetables was quite limited. What was available was tasty, but it was a shame you had to pay extra for the delicious cuts of meat (which we didn't eat). For the price, we didn't think the food and service were good enough. The fresh bread was very tasty with the tzatziki and other dips. The desserts (baklava, cheesecake) were also very good. The rice and fries were delicious. But what it really comes down to is a bit lacking... Unfortunately, we won't be returning here, mainly because of the hygiene and service, which were very subpar.

The food is okay, nothing special. But the hygiene is completely inadequate. If you only get a clean plate after the third time, it's no coincidence. Complaints aren't even taken seriously, so I'll just do something about it this way. Or, as Rob Geus will say, "Man, man, man..."

Unfortunately, I have to give this place only one star, especially considering the price-quality ratio. Upon arrival yesterday, I noticed the plates were still dirty. We asked for new plates, but they were dirty again. We tried again, but unfortunately, it was unsuccessful. So we cleaned the plates ourselves with some hand sanitizer and tissues. The meat and fish weren't anything special; they have the most standard drinks menu ever, but you do pay a premium to be your own chef. Finally, dessert arrived, and this was the most impressive part. After taking the first bite, I noticed there were "bumps" on the dessert spoon. These were from the previous customer, so I got to enjoy that person's dried, caked-on strawberry sauce. #delicious. Of course, I immediately raised this issue with the staff and mentioned it when I paid. Luckily, we received a discount coupon for this month, because we really want to come back after this experience #not So, everyone, think twice before going here (there are so many better places in Rotterdam). And if you do go, CHECK YOUR PLATES & CUTLERY!

Went out for dinner during New Year's. Super busy but the food was good and the service was good despite the crowds! Second time we've come for New Year's and we're still satisfied. The dessert was tasty too!

Excellent idea, where you can prepare your own bbq ood without worrying who will do the dishes . The meat was good prepared and delicious. It is hot there, of cource, with all the bbq tables. The price is a little high, but worth it.

The service could have been better. There was a lot of sighing as if it was too much trouble. We ordered two colas, only got one, and when we asked, the girl said we only had one. We did eventually get the second cola, but it was also charged extra for the other cola we hadn't ordered. The food was tasty, but you have to make it yourself, so that's understandable.
