Tasty pancakes, good service, and a fun play area!

The food was okay, but the service completely ruined our experience. Upon entering, it smelled very musty, but we were willing to overlook that. We ended up spending about €70. At the end, the waitress asked if we wanted anything else. We ordered coffee and tea, and less than five minutes later, we were already asked to leave because it was busy. We indicated that we were going to finish our drinks and then leave, but she came back a second time to tell us that we had to leave the restaurant. We were not even greeted when we left. The food was okay, but comparable food can be found elsewhere with much better customer service. In any case, we will never go here again.

A place where you can let your child play happily when they no longer want to sit at the table, with a nice atmosphere and good service.

Good restaurant with tasty food (though on the pricey side) and pleasant service, but I wonder if it is responsible for the employees to work in these temperatures. I think it is bad that the owner isn't arranging anything; it is scorching hot inside and there is no air conditioning or fan to be found. I find this unpleasant enough for myself, let alone for the employees, who are visibly struggling to endure it.

We made a reservation today and informed them that we were coming with two toddlers. They reserved a table for us where the high chairs didn't fit underneath. Because the restaurant was almost completely empty, we asked for another table. They made a huge fuss about it, and the staff was extremely unfriendly. The colleagues were also unfriendly towards each other. There was an awkward, tense atmosphere. I would not recommend this place. The pancakes and poffertjes were tasty, though. At least the chef did his best.

Cozy atmosphere, also a fun place for children to play

A nice location slightly off the beaten track for the general public, but what the ambiance might be lacking a bit, the staff more than makes up for. We came for our oldest daughter's birthday, and with balloons and an ice fountain, it was very nicely arranged, and our 11-year-old daughter thought it was a wonderful end to a fun day.

The food, a vegetarian pancake, was very tasty (cheese, onion, bell pepper). Staff very friendly. Nice atmosphere. Besides pancakes and poffertjes, there are many other tasty dishes on the menu. Highly recommended!!! I would recommend making a reservation on the weekend.

Checkout scam. A cheese and onion pancake is charged €3.25 per "extra" ingredient, in this case the onion. While a cheese, bacon, and onion pancake is cheaper if you leave out the bacon. It's absolutely ridiculous. So be vigilant when ordering and paying. And on top of that, the elderly woman in the restaurant was completely oblivious to people trying to order.

Dear Pannenkoe team, When we walked in, we knew it was going to be a blast. We kissed each other and knew we were thinking the same thing: this smells exactly like you used to come home to Grandma when she was baking her authentic pancake, à la frikandel special. Joking aside, many of our group members arrived with trembling knees, anxious about what was about to happen. Some thought a pannekoe wasn't even a proper dinner. But, honestly, we were surprised! The "vkoek" (the first pancake) was clearly discontinued a long time ago, because man, they were delicious. Personal advice was given in a friendly, but not pushy, way. And it was spot on. Yes, you can eat some truly strange pancakes here, but believe us when we say they haven't forgotten the art of making a real pannekoe. Delicious panenkoe. And kudos for the cow vests. Thanks for this adventure, Eating club ‘De Losse Gulp’ 8.9/10 Dame Blanche -/10. It wasn't on the menu, but it wasn't requested either.

De Pannenkoe in Schiedam isn't a restaurant; it's a sugary childhood flashback with extra butter and cherries. The poffertjes with cherries? Not stingy. A real treat in these difficult times. And the butter? Not a meager lick, just plenty of shine and love. There was a children's party going on, but we still got our food quickly. Our drinks arrived a little later than the food, but I forgive her. That woman runs the place even though she's clearly heard "Can I have some more lemonade?" a hundred times, and yet she remains friendly. Respect. They have Pepsi, not Coca-Cola. But that's a matter of taste. (I'd have preferred Fernandes, but hey, we're in a Dutch place, so it makes sense.) What they do have is pancakes with shawarma and pancakes with frikandel speciaal. I thought, oh my god, what am I seeing?! Very funny anyway. It was cozy, busy, and warm. We arrived as adults and left with a happy inner child (which was the equivalent of 10 sessions with my therapist). 5/5 for the atmosphere. For the pancakes. For the extra butter. Thank you.

We celebrated our daughter's birthday and it was wonderful. The staff at Pannenkoe were incredibly kind and understanding of all the noise the little guests were making. Everyone had a great time, even the parents felt at ease. Overall, we always return to Pannenkoe whenever we want to feel welcomed and eat something special.

The soup was delicious, but there wasn't tomato soup like the one on our menu, and only two cups were available, even though there were three of us. One of us had to order a baguette. The pancakes were well-cooked and nice and warm. I personally found the crispy grated cheese topping a bit disappointing. I prefer plain cheese slices, but that's a matter of personal preference. The desserts were delicious! The benches were comfortable, and the service was warm, cheerful, and customer-friendly. I think it would be especially good with young(er) children.

The pancakes were delicious, and with your Rotterdam Pass, you get one free plain pancake per person, so it was perfect! The staff really look at you like you're from another planet (except for one). That could change if you want to feel comfortable. I also think long nails are a definite no-go when working in hospitality. The atmosphere is very cozy and peaceful. It's great that there's a play area for small children, and it's great that there are games you can play at the table (although some pieces are missing, so I'd check). The hygiene could be better; there were cobwebs hanging from the lights, and no matter how high the ceiling is, it's not right. All in all, it deserves a 3 for the coziness and the pancakes themselves. If the service and hygiene improve, it's worth going back.

Delicious pancakes and affordable

We recently celebrated my daughter's first birthday here. Everything was perfectly organized, and the staff was incredibly helpful! No question was too much for them. The atmosphere was relaxed, and there was plenty for the kids to do. Highly recommended!

Now coming to the food, it was delicious and full of comforting flavors: Pannenkoek kipsate met frites en satesaus: A Dutch dish featuring a soft, thin pancake topped with tender grilled chicken satay, with rich, peanut sauce, and served alongside crispy golden fries, blending Dutch comfort food with Indonesian-inspired flavors. Poffertjes: small, fluffy, round pancakes, served with a dusting of powdered sugar and a pat of butter. Vegetarische Pannenkoek: A large, traditional Dutch pancake topped with fresh vegetables, lightly sautéed and seasoned. 6 Stuks Veggie Kipnuggets met Frites: Six crispy, plant-based chicken-style nuggets served with golden fries, accompanied by ketchup and mayo. Choco Koe: A sweet specialty pancake topped with white and dark Tony’s Chocolonely chocolate, finished with toasted almond flakes and shredded coconut. Pannenkoek Brie: A warm Dutch pancake topped with creamy slices of brie cheese, sweet apple, crunchy walnuts, and finished with a drizzle of honey To top it all off, we tried their house beers : Pannenkoe Dubbel and Pannenkoe Blonde-both were absolutely fantastic. Delicious pancake, a bit on the thin side, the edges had become crispy. Nice little play corner for the children. They thought of changing diapers, a changing corner available. Nice children's toilet available for the little ones. However, I think it's a shame that the service was very bad. When I entered with my family, the entire restaurant was empty. We were the only ones, we were not welcomed, we had to choose a table ourselves. After waiting for 5 minutes, I walked to the waitress (she was busy with her mobile phone). I asked her if I could place the order, she nodded, so I did. The pancakes were served, without saying a single word. Not even asking if we wanted something to drink with it. Then we went to eat our pancakes, unsociable, no atmosphere. After half an hour we decided to leave. I went to the cash register, I said that I wanted to pay by card. Once inside, I thanked her, but did not get a word back. I seriously thought this girl was deaf and dumb. From beginning to end she didn't say a single word. So I can see why the restaurant was so empty.

The food is more than adequate. Both the pancakes and the poffertjes. A manager who can manage the young people would do a better job. All in all, definitely satisfied with the service. Tip. Parking is not the best, easy to do by bike or on foot.

Last weekend we went to Pancake Schiedam for the first time and what a great experience it was! From the moment we walked in, we felt welcome. The atmosphere is warm and child-friendly, with a nice play corner where my child had a great time while we waited for our food.

We've been coming here for a while now, but slowly but surely it's all getting worse. Dishes are disappearing from the menu, service is getting worse, waiting times are getting longer. The fact that the reservation didn't come through didn't really help either...

Though we've been here before, and prior visits have been okay, today's service was abysmal. After a brief welcome and being provided seats, it took quite a while (read: long time), for any order to be taken. After finally being able to order, as it seems knowledge of one's own menu and daily is no longer a requirement in hospitality, it took another stretch to get the appetizers coming. Now I can understand this when there's a full house, as it was less than half the seats were filled though. Maybe closer to a third, if that. After what I can only call a disappointing soup, and trust me when I say I wasn't expecting haute cuisine, it took yet another long wait for the main course to come. The pancakes were good. All in all I know this can be a nice place. It's just a shame none of that was visible on Mother's day. We actually thought about leaving before the appetizers, and to be honest, I wish we had.

This was once for us, but unfortunately never again. Yes, it is very nice that there is a children's corner with plenty of toys. But that's all there is to it. We were there on a Sunday at 4:30 pm and there were 3 tables of customers and it was otherwise empty. The service is completely unsuitable for working in the catering industry. No good afternoon, no nice evening when we do say so, no please or thank you. We also had to ask if the table could be cleaned (it was dirty from the previous customer), if we could order drinks and we actually had to clean everything ourselves. And the food ultimately took a very long time, even though the restaurant was empty. There was no laughing matter. Even though they are young people, they need to be guided and there needs to be leadership in this store. The plain pancake for the children was fine, but it is better to leave the other ''specialities'' or, for example, a cheese pancake here.

Dit was voor ons eens, maar helaas nooit meer. Ja, het is heel fijn dat er een kinderhoekje met voldoende speelgoed is. Maar daar is dan ook alles mee gezegd. Wij waren er op zondag om 16.30 uur en er waren 3 tafels met klanten en verder was het leeg. De bediening is totaal ongeschikt om in de horeca te werken. Geen goedemiddag, geen fijne avond wanneer wij dat wel zeggen, geen alsjeblieft of dankjewel. Ook moesten wij zelf vragen of de tafel schoon gemaakt kon worden (hij was vies van de vorige klant), of we drinken mochten bestellen en moesten we eigenlijk overal zelf achteraan. En duurde het eten uiteindelijk ook ontzettend lang, dat terwijl het restaurant leeg was. Er kon geen lach vanaf. Ook al zijn het jonge mensen, deze moeten bijgestuurd worden en er moet leidinggegeven worden in deze toko. De naturel pannenkoek voor de kinderen was prima, maar de andere ''specialiteiten'' of bv een pannenkoek kaas, kan je hier beter laten staan.

We went on a weekday at noon, although it was not crowded, they sat us at a table at the back since we did not have a reservation. We asked for a coffee and apple pancake and waited for 40 minutes. We wanted to ask for our order a few times but no one spoke to us and they did not even look at us. They avoided eye contact and there was no smile. There were two girls and neither of them were interested. The pancakes were good but not worth 19 euros and that long wait. We wanted to order a few more things but we gave up because we didn't want to go through this treatment. Will we come again? Never!!!

Super nice place to eat pancakes for a nice price. Very child-friendly because they have a nice play corner and a special children's toilet! The children always receive a coin afterwards and can then grab a toy from the vending machine, which is great fun! We like to come there regularly. See you again soon!

Hopende op een gezellige uitje naar Pannenkoe in Schiedam eindigde in teleurstelling. Klantonvriendelijkheid en totaal niet kindvriendelijk, niet eens welkom heten. Enkel een opmerking dat water drinken verboden was en de drinkfles van tafel moest. Nergens te achterhalen dat eigen ‘drank’ in dit geval water verboden is. Op de site en op de vestiging niet gelezen! Personeel dronk wel water, was deze gekocht door de medewerker? Denk het niet! Dubbele standaard toepassen. De pannenkoeken waren helaas droog en de kinderen konden hun kraanwater ook niet nuttigen, waardoor ze snakten naar water. Heel sneu allemaal! Btw, we hebben de Rotterdampas gebruikt! Ligt t hieraan???

This establishment could use some love, but the food and the well-baked pancakes more than make up for it.

The food is delicious. Controls are children without social skills. Not saying a word, not a please or thank you. You literally have to call them, don't look up or around and stand in a corner with their phone in their hand. There is no waving, signaling or eye contact at all. Too bad for such a nice place, with really good food.

Bijna een uur gewacht op 2 naturel pannekoeken. Pannekoeken waren hard, je kon ze niet oprollen alleen omvouwen. Eén was enigszins aangebrand aan de onderkant. Dit was met de Rotterdampas. Was het daarom?

Last Sunday we found ourselves standing in front of a closed door with a reservation within opening hours. Phone was also not answered. And there is no response to the email. Ridiculous.

Great pancakes, lousy service! It starts as soon as we enter, where we received no attention at all. People prefer to be on the phone and you are not given a friendly greeting. Especially if you indicate that you have a Social Deal, while that is precisely the idea behind it, to attract people because the store is apparently not doing well. The tone had already been set. 1 lady doesn't want to be there at all and makes that clear, or she is extremely shy, that is also possible. The moment she came to our table we had to ask if we could have something to drink, she didn't seem to be able to talk. She came to the table and kept her mouth shut. Instead of picking up rubbish on the ground, simply kick it away. I think it is unsuitable for the catering industry. - Banana was finished at 5:00 PM, that's not possible, is it? - Icing sugar that was on the table was gone. You notice that when you make a round to refill, don't you? - Waffles my son and wife had were hard and sickly sweet. Probably not fresh. We had one drink and were not asked if we wanted anything else to drink. Apparently they don't want to make money. Upon departure, you are not asked whether everything was to your liking. I wouldn't do that either in such a case. Afraid of the answer? The Pannenkoe Spijkenisse has been gone (bankrupt) for several years. In this current state of service and customer friendliness, I cannot imagine that the Schiedam branch will suffer a different fate. In any case, we will never bring our money here again, never again!

When we arrived it took quite a while before we could get to the table. Once at the table we had to wait quite a while before someone came to take the drink. Due to a hurry, we immediately passed on the pancakes. The pancakes took a very long time in my opinion (waited more than an hour for 4 of the same pancakes). It was quite quiet in the restaurant. After the pancakes we had dessert. Ice cream was tasty, but the waffle with chocolate was very sweet and the waffle was hard. The waffle is said to be freshly made, but I highly doubt that. Was hard and not warm. To me this says enough that it is not fresh. This comes from ready-made packaging from the wholesaler. Also ordered 2 drinks with dessert and they never arrived. I certainly wouldn't go back for the service, but the pancakes were ok. If I ever feel like having a pancake and don't have an appointment, I would try it again. But Service and speed can still be improved. Price of the pancakes and taste are fine. It would be a shame if there were no changes in the speed and service. This way customers stay away!
