I was there with my elderly mother in a wheelchair on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. It was very busy, but the staff still made an effort to find us a spot, and we enjoyed a delicious pancake. It was a shame that the apple juice and cappuccino we ordered were forgotten due to the crowd. Nevertheless, it's a lovely family-friendly place with friendly staff, worth coming back to. Moreover, the food is halal and vegetarian, so everyone can enjoy a delicious meal here. It's also geared towards children, with games to keep them entertained until their food arrives.

I went to lunch with my sisters at this fantastic spot, where you can fully enjoy breathtaking surroundings. With an abundance of delicious dishes, from a variety of delicious milkshakes with creamy pancakes to homemade cheeseburgers with delicious fries. This place also offers numerous activities for young children. The staff is not only incredibly friendly but also incredibly fast and helpful. Plus, you can park your car right in front of the door. So if you're looking for a day out, this spot, De Appel, is highly recommended.

What a wonderful place! My sisters and I enjoyed a lovely lunch at Pancake House De Appel in Twiske. Despite being a pancake house, they have a very extensive menu, so there's something for everyone. The terrace is lovely, the service is incredibly friendly, and the owner is a warm, enthusiastic woman who wants to please everyone. It's also very child-friendly, making it a perfect spot for families and for a relaxing time with family or friends. Highly recommended!

Simply a fantastic place! Delicious food, even if you're looking for something other than pancakes, fun play areas, and on weekends and holidays, they often arrange something extra for the kids, like a bouncy castle or, like today, a visit from Stitch!

I had a delicious vegan pancake. One of the few pancake houses in the region where the vegan pancake isn't also gluten-free. That's great. Unfortunately, vegans only have a choice of sweet pancakes. If they'd offer vegan cheese, I'd be sold.

Delicious Pancake, a bit pricey but tasty and with a nice view

First of all, the staff was very friendly and attentive. Selling a bland pancake with a small jar of Nutella for €11 is unfortunately completely over the top, especially since it wasn't particularly tasty. The other orders, a crispy burger and a falafel burger, were nicely decorated, but tasted more like a takeaway! I wouldn't recommend this place!

I ordered the homemade hummus and the homemade tuna salad. The hummus was excellent, beautifully presented, and tasty. The tuna salad with red onion, grilled bell pepper, capers, and wasabi mayo sounds delicious, but when it's served, you see a slice of bread with salad, and a mountain of lettuce thrown on top. Including the hard bits of lettuce. No love. The capers and red onion were missing, along with one tiny piece of grilled bell pepper. Because there's so much mayonnaise in the salad, you can't taste the wasabi mayonnaise. For €13.00, that's not really value for money—€10.00 too much. The attached photo is an example of how it could be done for the same price. Hint: it's a fun place for kids, and they no longer serve alcoholic drinks. That's possible, but then we'll go a bit further for that delicious wine and beer.

The food is fine, but not outstanding. The service is good, with pleasant staff and a lively young team. What's a real shame is that they don't serve alcohol (anymore). We consider it a rather patronizing approach. It's a reason for us to choose a different restaurant. I hear a lot of people around me complaining about it. It's a real shame that such a lovely, beautiful, and especially cozy location made this choice.

The service is as friendly as ever, and the pancakes are amazing! Unfortunately, the menu has been updated and there's no more bacon and cheese (well, only veal bacon) and no beer or wine (only non-alcoholic). A bit of a disappointment for the parents 😭

Was very quiet last Tuesday. Something really needs to be done about the sticky tables and a hair of dust around open cutlery/syrup. You would think that the staff would have enough time to do something about this (hygiene) on such a quiet rainy day. The pancakes were not filling. Could use a bit more egg and flour (thicker) to make the price ratio realistic. Nice for once. Unfortunately disappointing that the place is halal, but serves 0.0 wine and beer.

This is a nice place for lunch with your family. I went with my cousin and my son today (mother's day). The menu has a variety of options and the food was nice. The kids had the choice of playing inside or outside. There was even a bouncer.

We visited around diner time, hardly any guests, more than enough staff. We sat at a table for 20 minutes. Someone picked up an empty glass from our table without looking at or speaking to us. We left after 20 mins to eat somewhere else

I really enjoyed this cozy pancake restaurant! It was quite busy but this makes sense because it is now a holiday. We were given a spot at the back and the table was cleaned briefly. Hygiene was good and there was a good atmosphere. The Apple Pancake with Cinnamon Sugar is also highly recommended!! Some children were busy playing and a bit noisy, but yes, it is a pancake restaurant. They also have some things to do for the kids. It is definitely recommended! Everything was very mediocre. The atmosphere - it was cold inside - the service and the food were very mediocre. Satay and hamburger were reasonable, but the pancakes were much too thin and not really tasty. Definitely not recommended!

Very noisy and noisy with screaming and running children and the pancake with strawberries was a joke, so few strawberries on such a large pancake.

I usually come there when it is quiet, during the week. I was there last weekend. There were several birthday parties and it was therefore very noisy and gaotic. Because it is one large room, it reverberates enormously. Because it is in Twiske, you have to pay when you arrive by car via the levers. You can also park for free at the sports fields via the Twiskeweg. Then you have to walk 10 minutes.
