Very authentic and eye-opening experience. However, food was very harsh for my weak stomach. They did not explain how it works and what we were going to be served.

All the food here is delicious and authentic. But this restaurant only opens from Wednesday until Sunday. There is no seat reservation, you can just come and order.

The food is very good. My only complaint is that it is quite salty. Up to the point that I wake up during the night with a dry mouth from it. If that would be a bit less so, I would definitely rate it 5 stars Edit: maybe it's my interpretation, but it seems that the food is less salty than before, more to my taste. Absolutely fantastic now, definitely 5 stars

As a Balinese travelling to Amsterdam, I found this place is really authentic. Just remind me of home. The owner is very welcome and friendly. The food is great! I believe Balinese, Indonesian, or Western would enjoy the food easily. Would definitely pay another visit if I go to Amsterdam again. Recommended!

The restaurant was very pretty. For reasons of space we were not able to eat there. We had decided to try this Bali meal at all costs (a cuisine that we didn't know at all), so taking away is better than nothing. Conclusion it was excellent, no regrets. If only one, having to leave and not being able to eat a delicious dish from this restaurant again. We strongly recommend.

Authentic Balinese style rice in the Netherlands. They only serve one menu every day and will have different menu each day so make sure you check them before coming. Service was very nice, and you really feel the Balinese touch all over the restaurant. Higly recommended!

Probably one of the best Indonesian restaurant in Netherlands, this one specializes in Balinese nasi campur. The minute you walk in you are greeted with that base gede spices scent in the air. They change their menu for each opening day but my favorite is their nasi ayam and nasi languan. They do tone down the chili heat but you can always ask Ibu for more sambal.

I love this place! This is probably one of the best Indonesian foods I have had here. Every time, the menu is something different. The restaurant is quite cozy, and the staff are helpful and kind. The seats are limited, so reserving or coming earlier is a good idea.

I keep returning to this Balinese restaurant in Amsterdam. The owners, Dian and Steve are very friendly and they are the ones serve the customers. They are open from Wednesday to Saturday, and have fixed menu each day. So, it's easy for order, just need to mention, 1 or 2 or 3 portions. You need to like or able to eat spicy for most of their menus. But for me it's still below my spicy limit. However, Thursday is always the chicken day, Nasi Ayam. The taste of their foods has made me became a picky eater for Balinese food. Even when I was in Indonesia, Paon Bali is still the best. The restaurant is small and cozy. Parking is on the street outside the restaurant, at the moment cost you €5/hr. My favorite is Nasi babi guling. Don't forget to try their bubuh (dessert). However the picture in this review is nasi ayam, as the visit was on Thursday.

A restaurant where you can get really authentic Balinese food. Never been to Bali before and you want more. If you know Bali, you will come here again.

So the place is a bit out of way for us. Around 1.5 hrs walk. No biggie. We also wanted our dogs nails to get some road love. On our way it started raining. And we thought it better be worth it. And it was. The concept is pretty simple. You order either vegetarian or meat option. And they give you a plate. We got the meat and it was extremely flavourful. We thought the spice was light but sambal was there to kick it up a notch. The rice was perfect base for thick flavour small dishes on side. We also got dessert which in my very humble opinion would be even better cold. But still extremely good. During the meal the kind lady said they serve the true spicy food only on Wednesday and Thursday. So we know we going next time on Wednesday. Apart from food, the highlight of resturant is calming water noise from the fountain. So if you have nothing better to do, make a trip to the resturant. Get one of the best tasting plates in amsterdam, and meet some of the kindest hosts. Coming back we took a tram, just in case you are curious

Paon Bali The food was delicious again! Wednesday to Saturday there is 1 menu for 16.50 euros. On Friday and Saturday they also serve a vegetarian option😉 Do you want to be sure of a takeaway meal? Make a reservation via WhatsApp on the day of pick-up before 5 p.m. and you are assured of a delicious meal🥰 There is often a long line so be patient. But it's really worth it! You can also dine there, but there is no service. So keep in mind that you have to get your own drink and meal from the kitchen/checkout😊 I can recommend this restaurant.

One point for improvement: it is so busy that you can't really ask for anything more afterwards, while the food was just a little too little for me and ordering an extra plate of food is a bit excessive.

I live in Hamburg and definitely worth to travel here to fulfill the missing feeling of home/Bali. The food are so authentic, similar taste as like as in Bali, especially with the spices. In my opinion, the absolute very best Indonesian food one can find in the Netherlands

We were DELIGHTED to discover recently that Paon Bali has replaced shrimp trassi with soybased trassi, so it's possible for vegans to eat here. It's delicious.

It was really hard to find a Balinese dish in the NL, especially an authentic one! This restaurant surely provides a delicious and authentic Balinese dishes. I missed Indonesian food so much, and when I ate the food, all the flavors exploded beautifully and harmoniously. I ate Nasi Paon Bali. The portion was generous, all the side dishes were scrumptious. I will definitely go back! Kak Dian and Steven were both so kind and welcoming.

After trying many Indonesians restaurants I can say without doubt - this is the best Indonesian restaurant in Amsterdam by far. Authentic with rich vlavors and great service. You can't go wrong with this one

I can’t begin to explain how good, unique, and deeply tasteful the food I had in Paon Bali was. Excellent experience, also accommodated by the warm hosts. I’ve never been to Bali, but if anything screams authenticity in Amsterdamse gastronomy, then it must be Paon Bali.

This place offers hands down the best Indonesian food in Amsterdam. The menu changes all the time, but it is very authentic and fresh. Loved it! We took the meals home but next time I will make sure to dine in the small restaurant- it is super cute and intimate.
