Papa Johns Pizza in Dapperbuurt

Poor experience from what I already assumed would be a mid-level pizza. It's papa John's after all. The delivery took over and hour. They didn't have the right dessert available. I had to call twice to get a "maybe we hope it will be there in x minutes" which was incorrect both times. All items were cold. This is what I get for knowing better and still ordering.

Hawaiian pizza without pineapple, BBQ chicken pizza without BBQ sauce. Both tasteless. This was the last time. Shame.

Super tasty food and delivered quickly

We ordered 6 pizzas, 2 of them paid for in cash. The result? We barely got dinner because they didn't make them, and on top of that, they made us doubt whether we had even ordered them! I absolutely do not recommend going there, and they were incredibly slow. They even tried to charge us for the sauce that comes free inside the pizza, which we asked for because they didn't include it initially.

I ordered a 30cm pizza and I got a 25cm one.

Arrived 15 minutes late. The pizza had hardly any toppings. Drinks were forgotten. Look at the other negative reviews before ordering.

Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES order from here through Uber eats, the delivery took 3 hours yesterday. I know these things happen, but 3 hours is absolutely insane. And of course the food came in bland and dry. I would give -1 if it was possible. Don’t order from Papa John’s!

Ordered from Uber Eats. It never came, the phone doesn't work. If this happen to you, I highly recomment speaking with an agent to get it cancelled. It isn't worth waiting. Don't offer a delivery if you're not going to do them!

DONT BUY FROM HERE i ordered and it never came, i called and a guy answer after i called at least 10 times, and this guy answers telling me it’s gonna come in 20 min . guess what, it never did .

Ordered here for the first time and was supposed to get garlic cheese sticks with my pizza. Eventually called, no help, no communication. A scam. Additionally, a medium pizza for 19.99 tastes like nothing; a soggy pizza with few ingredients.

Ordered my food 90 minutes ago says it’s on the way since 20:05 there in no answer on the phone and no answer on the uber eats app. This is beyond a joke. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. We also tried to cancel the order and they’re saying it’s a €31 cancellation fee? Absolutely fuming.

Two hours for an order, I called twice and they said “it’s on its way”. In the end, the food arrived ice cold. I didn't know that “on its way” at your place meant: going on a world trip 😂 What terrible service

I went to this place for the first time and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The pizzas were delicious! They even helped me with my order because I didn't know pepperoni could be haram. I really recommend this place — lovely staff and delicious pizzas.

Amazing pizza with fresh ingredients and great flavor! The staff were friendly, the service was fast, and everything was clean. Definitely one of the best Papa Johns experiences I’ve had. Highly recommended!

Waiting for 2 hours for one pizza

The pizza was so delicious 😋 i ordered three pizzas for my family and me, and we all really enjoyed them. Everything was fresh, tasty, and full of flavor. We’ll definitely order again!

Ordered 2 pizzas , 40min overtime,trying to call the number and they hang up! So we dont have any updates nor can we see where or how long we have to wait.

It took a very long time and I didn't get any dipping, even though I had asked for sauce and they had said they had provided it. Probably bad luck, but still a shame.

Sometimes, you want something bad. But this is even worse than that. Can confidently say the worst pizza I’ve ever had, period.

Worst experience. I placed the order, and the restaurant accepted it at 12:54 AM. Now it is 2:15 AM, and the food has not yet been delivered; very disappointed.

More then an hour late and no response from the shop or driver

I am in love with this place, it seems that it has a new owner. The pizza is absolutely amazing and desert as well also I had an especial request for my pizza and the staff were very kind and helpful.

This place is fabulous, I enjoyed every single bite of my pizza supper delicious. The staff are also super helpful and nice, definitely coming again and again

Today (May 20), we ordered a Meat Lovers pizza at Papa John’s. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. There was barely any pepperoni on the pizza, whereas with a Meat Lovers pizza, you would expect more toppings. Additionally, the service from the young employee with curly hair was very unprofessional. During work, things were being thrown around the whole time, and he came across as irritated, as if he didn't feel like working. When we spoke to him, he also reacted rudely. When the order was ready, this was not indicated in a normal or friendly manner. Instead, a "Hello?" was said in an unpleasant tone, in a way that came across as disrespectful, as if to say: "Are you still going to pick up your order@?"

Have been waiting for the pizza for 2 hours. I called and they said it would be there in half an hour. Unreachable by phone. But I read that more people have had problems with this, so it's probably company policy.

It would have been quicker for me to grow the wheat myself, harvest it, make dough, source the ingredients and throw it in an oven than these guys. Also, good practice to turn your businesses phone line on!

TERRIBLE, STAY AWAY!!! The entire order was not fulfilled, only the food came and not the sauces and drinks. The delivery driver came late after getting lost. The food itself was barely edible and undercooked. Save yourself time and money and go somewhere else, this was some of the worst food I’ve ever eaten.

I wish I had read the reviews before - DO NOT waste your money and order from them - this has to be a fake Papa John’s…so insanely expensive for what it was. The wrong order was sent. I got bbq not shawarma. Drinks were also forgotten. The delivery driver gave me cash to pay back the drinks that I literally saw him exchange with a homeless man….and he was 40 min late from the time they said they’d arrive. Should be a sitcom episode based off how bad the service was I’m actually in shock

I had to call in order to get them to start making my order. Then after waiting for two hours after initial delivery the pizzas arrived cold. The pizza itself was also very disappointing; small amount of sauce, serious lack of toppings and almost zero cheese. Will never order here again.

I mean I get it it’s papa johns but talking on the phone while prepping the pizza and putting the phone right where he cooks, it’s a bit too much. I don’t think phones are that clean to cook for someone with it. I didn’t even take the pizza.

My advice to you, dear visitor, is not to become an employee here. You will face racial and religious discrimination, a twenty-day delay in your salary, threats of salary reductions, and mistreatment, unless you are Druze.

Visited this place on holiday, it’s our first time in Amsterdam and the man in the shop really looked after us! We were starving after travelling and he made us a pizza super quick and charged us an incredibly reasonable price. We liked it so much we came back a couple of days later and had the same experience. If we come back to Amsterdam we will definitely consider coming to this papa johns again!

Do NOT order from here under any circumstance. Ordered 2 hours ago, no food, no communication. Called store and took 3 tries to get to a human who said they had no delivery people but would have one in 10 minutes. That was an hour ago. Now I have to find a way to get my money back. Do not order from them - hopefully this franchise will go out of business and let someone else in who understands how to run a business

One of my favourite pizza brand. Love the varieties and the offers. The taste is just addictive especially the garlic sauce.

I used to order often in the past, was happy with it and recommended it. Now, they changed the website and I lost my old account with all the points and discounts without any warning. Still, I ordered anyway - the delivery was supposed to take about 30min. 90min later I finally got my pizza...I should've read the latest reviews before ordering. I don't recommend it now.

Bad experiences with the personal. I was waiting for my food ( 2 pizzas and cheesy garlic sticks) MORE THAN 30 minutes. When i asked where is the food they we re rude , didnt even let me talk about my order, and one of the guys there almost had a fight with my boyfriend. I love papa john s pizza but not this location. Disappointing! Find another restaurant, but not this one.

It's mid, the pizza is amazing 😍, the guy made it fresh and overall worth the price. Oh and if you want the actual pizza and it too be good most likely then don't get delivery. Go in person!!!!!!!!!!!! It's way better then.

I ordered the "vegan pizza"... Got a cold margarita with a mouldy pepper thrown in for luck Quite literally the worst pizza I've ever seen.

Tasteless pizzas, two different pizzas that tasted the same

great pizza and the guy working there is very nice.

The food is very delicious, the service is good and the staff are very friendly.

So they switched owners a couple weeks ago, and this man is the sweetest guy ever. We are dead broke as students, and we came up to them and asked for a discount, he said that students receive 25% discount I believe? Well we were super hungry and we communicated that with him, and he said to not worry too much about the price. So we just picked some random stuff assuming that the price wouldn’t differ so much. Well a large pizza came out to 30 euros because of all the stuff we added. He told us, and obviously that’s too much for us. He told me a margarita is about 16 euros for a large, and I said let’s do that then. He knocked the price down again to 13 euros for us. We came back to pick up the pizza, and it was the original large pizza we chose with all the extra ingredients! Amazing experience, I think that this owner knows how to keep its customers, 10/10 experience. Pretty much the local pizza place, but with the papa John’s sticker on it.

Very disappointing. I have tried multiple times, and sadly it doesn't seem to be a one-time fluke, it is consistently BAD. Which makes me sad, I love papa johns normally. It is impossible to reach them on the phone when the pizza takes over an hour- even 2 hours one time, to be delivered, or to address an special requests. This delivery, I ordered extra cheese, it had hardly any cheese and was overcooked and tough. Even other stores know how bad they are when my pizza was at hours and I couldn't reach them over the phone, I called other stores, that explained, this store just leaves its phone off the hook.

The opening hours (saying it opens at 16:00) on maps are incorrect, we showed up at 16:00 on Saturday and wasted 15 mins waiting but the place didn’t open. Uber Eats says the first delivery time possible is at 17:30. The pizza is good tho

Stood there for a minute, guy didn't realise anyone was in the shop, head buried in his phone instead of paying attention to the job. Ordered, 1 min later says he needs cash because he forgot the card machine isn't working. And worst of all don't even have an up to date menu with current prices, everything is more expensive than the menu he gave. Ridiculous. We gave up and left.

Normally I don't write bad reviews, but we ordered a pizza 1.5 hours ago and called several times. We were told that there was something wrong with the bike of the delivery guy. Later we were told that the delivery guy left only 2 minutes ago. Really bad service, don't order here!

TERRIBLE customer service (rude, dishonest, not listening and talking over you). Pizza used to be better (3-4stars) but now doughy and skimpy on toppings (esp. for the price). So called 'MEGA' cookie is tiny, not the usual pizza cookie and still costs €3 (single serve pre-packaged, normally sold for no more than €1 or so, or €1,50-2 on take-out rest.)...insane and the images on the website still show the original ACTUAL mega cookie...❗️ Rude customer service that tries to talk over you and dismisses everything. Zero customer service or respect or responsibility for their mishandling, both in the contradictory images and still calling it 'mega cookie' and the nerve of charging €3...

Been a customer for 4 years now, loved the taste back then, but utterly disappointed by the quality since 2023. They cut back on the sauce, toppings, and overall quality of the pizzas. Not sure if it is just this branch or a franchise wide thing. Domino's is actually way more generous with the sauce and toppinhs

Never received my pizza. Been waiting for 3 hours already.

I entered the correct address, but made a mistake in the zip code. Unfortunately I didn't realize this and only got the call after an hour. I don't understand why they couldn't route the order to the correct location. They did not want to deliver my order and I will not refund my money... Very bad service. Never order here again.

First of all, one of the worst experiences ever with food delivery service from this Papa John’s store. I ordered a pizza last night around 8:30pm. Uber app ETA showed that it will arrive at the latest 9:30. At 10pm I was waiting at the hotel lobby and the food hasn’t arrived yet. I called them 10 more times but they don’t pick up calls (probably on purpose). Past 10, they called me to say that the food delivery person couldn’t find me. I told them that please cancel and refund the order. One of the managers said “Ok, whatever thank you.” Next day, uber app sent me a message that the food was already processed and the restaurant still charged me the full order. I have seen other comments about delivery issues from this Papa John’s. If you (the owner of this branch or the manager) see this review, please proceed the refund. Sincerely

extremely rude employee (Virgil) on the phone who makes me wait 45 minutes for a pizza because the courier went to the wrong address on a Monday evening at 10:15 PM. Then the same delivery person delivers the same pizza that has been throughout Amsterdam in the meantime and has been warmed up in the oven and has the courage to have it delivered to me. He said I should be happy with this shit pizza because he's really busy. he said no new pizza and no money back. no discussion. Besides the fact that it is life-threatening, unsanitary and prohibited, this shows no respect and absolute shit. After a lot of insistence and hanging up in my ear, the delivery came within 3 minutes (because it was extremely busy on Monday evening according to the excited operator) and I only got my money back if I handed the pizza in to the courier. so I had to fish that pizza out of my trash can (full of dirt, yakkes) and give it to the courier. ugh, gross! I have zero confidence in this business that employs such shoddy (picked from the street?) staff. really scandalous. no excuses or anything, just a dirty old cold reheated pizza that you risk your life with. never again for me. I wouldn't dare order anything from here ever again. 1 star = way too much.

To start, we ordered for 6 on Uber Eats for a total of over 100€. They were delivered in two batches, with more than 15 minutes between the two deliveries, not great to wait to eat. The pizzas are good but not crazy either. Mathieu Reiter made popo 3 times in one night after eating the Chicken BBQ. I only recommend if you are very hungry and in need.

My favorite go-to place when I head to Oosterpark, I love Papa John's, its my favorite fast food pizza shop. There is a guy working there,(big, bald and darkskinned) always happy and he always seems to be there when walk past the shop.

Papa Johns Pizza is the type of father who leaves his family alone as soon as there’s something important to do, In this case Papa John didn’t wanted to gift us with good food. I had an pizza margarita which should be easy but no even this was too much as it tasted like bread and cheese. If i ever recommend you this place then you can be sure that you are my enemy.

Food is good but, this place is never open they decide when they are open, rude on phone pizza ALWAYS takes at least 1 hour to be delivered. How can you have lunch deals until 15:00 when this place opens at 16:00? Ofcourse on Tuesday’s when on the website it’s “Buy one get one” then this is closed…

The manager has to be the kindest man in Amsterdam-Oost. The pizza itself tastes great every single time I've been.

Fantastische service. Ik vroeg om 2 bekertjes, die hadden ze niet te koop maar hij had er zelf wel een paar mee en heeft me daar 2 van gegeven. Uiteindelijk waren de pizza’s een paar minuten later klaar en heb daar ook nog korting voor gekregen. Ik wilde fooi geven maar hij stond erop dat we de prijs zo hielden. Super vriendelijk en behulpzaam! :)

Ordered 2 pizzas there, waited for around 20 minutes. Basically the best pizza ive ever had. That dude who made the pizza did it with heart. He was about to marry the pizza. Would order again if i wouldnt live 500km away.

Food is as usual but delivery always takes so long. It would be great if the website could give an estimate how long it will be. I'm expecting it to take 30 minutes and it's already been an hour and I'm still waiting for my delivery.

Moest m opnieuw opwarmen en extra beleg toevoegen. Toen was het een prima pizza. Kaas wel okay en geen zwembad in het midden.

Geen onderscheid tov de NYP en Domino's. Teleurstellend: online korting beloven als je gaat afhalen, maar pas in de winkel wordt verteld dat je dan wel eerst online moet bestellen....

Eerder vanavond 5 pizza’s besteld, locatie was verkeerd doorgekomen, bezorger kwam alsnog direct naar de juiste bestemming. Pizza was heerlijk.

Vlotte bezorging en aardige, nette bezorgers. Natuurlijk het aller belangrijkste: lekkere pizza! De kwaliteit is altijd goed en varieert nooit. Heel betrouwbaar en consistent. Zeker een aanrader :)
