Papa Mario in Wijk 02 Almere Stad

We waited an hour for pizza, only to have it show as "delivered" in the app, even though nothing had been delivered. Of course, I called. The woman on the line dodged the question of why the order was marked "delivered." She canceled our order herself and then immediately hung up. Extremely rude!

Very rude on the phone. We called to ask for an estimate of how long it would take (we'd already been waiting for an hour and a half), and were told, "Listen, ma'am, it's busy." Which is completely understandable on a Sunday evening, but we were immediately hung up on and spoken to rudely.

We ordered from here yesterday, and after waiting almost two hours for our food, the delivery driver from this restaurant dropped all the food on my front lawn. This can happen, but the way they handled this problem is absolutely unacceptable! After calling, the operator told me not to call again and that there was nothing they could do. She hung up.

My order was cancelled due to the alleged missing room number.

I've ordered from here many times and really enjoyed the food. Today (December 16, 2023), my husband called Papa Mario to ask if their chicken was halal. The woman on the phone said, "Chicken is always halal." To which my husband replied, "No, chicken is only halal if it's ritually slaughtered." The woman said, "Order somewhere else," and then she hung up without hesitation. I find this a really antisocial way to treat customers. And it's clearly not a restaurant where everything is 100% halal, as advertised on Thuisbezorgd. I'll never order from here again. Antisocial scammers.

Yesterday, I picked up a pizza for the first time from Italian takeaway Papa Mario (Steurstraat, Almere). The menu I looked at in the store contained two-year-old prices, Mrs. Mario told me. Okay, I knew that. The difference between the old and the new price for a Margarita was €1.50. Not a small difference, but I had an idea of the price increase. I ordered a pizza (vegetarian), a container of tiramisu, and a 330 ml can of Fanta. Papa Mario was delivering an order; Mrs. Mario and I had a pleasant chat in the meantime. When I paid, Mrs. Mario said she was charging me a special price, a friends' price, because it was my first time picking something up from them. I thanked Mrs. Mario for that, of course. I was charged €20.00. I thought that was quite a lot, especially since it was a friends' price. At home, I looked up the amounts for my order on Papa Mario's website and added them up. It turned out I should have paid €19.00 (€18.99), not €20.00. I would have saved Papa Mario the delivery costs and time by picking it up myself. Why would anyone do something like that? It's a shame for Papa and Mama Mario, but they've lost a good customer in me.

Is a takeaway pizzeria. Excellent pizza in a small commercial building. Mom and Dad Mario were very nice, lovely people. Cannot be paid by card but paid via Tikkie from their son. Well resolved.

Received pasta quickly. Very nice, but after I open the package I see a hair in the paste. So I called the restaurant and asked if we could get a new one. No, that wasn't possible, because there really couldn't be any hair in it. Took a photo and everything. Very unfriendly.

The best in all of Almere. There is none better. This is how pizza should be. Always fast, whether you pick up or order Sweet nice people. Working really hard

Echt lekker Pizza en vriendelijk personeel

Heb hier nou meerdere malen besteld. Alles is altijd netjes in orde. Het eten is zeer smaakvol en de porties zijn groot. Laatste keer waren ze een paar minuten later dan aangegeven en boden hier netjes hun excuses voor aan, maar des ondanks was het eten wel warm en lekker wat ik veel belangrijker vind dan dat je een paar minuten later bent.

Forgot to review Papa Mario last time I visited! Amazing pizza and wonderful atmosphere. 100% recommend!!
