Park Café-Restaurant in Oosterparkbuurt

The place is very nice, the service not good enough, prices are definitely too high. We had a dinner with a large group and it was a mess, we got food much later than what contracted and we find ourselves 50 euros for a dinner we have to finish in 10 minutes. They did not propose any discount or compensation.

Food was pretty bad. Service was slow in an empty restaurant.

It used to be super tasty! But unfortunately, the menu has changed completely. Such a shame. It was our favorite lunch spot.

Stayed at the attached hotel. We were extremely jet lagged so went for dinner. I ordered a smash burger. I took a bite and all was fine. On the second bite I bit down on something hard and it was a sharp piece of metal. I am lucky it was horizontal in my mouth and not vertical or it would have stabbed my mouth. The waiter sent some sort of manager over. She was nice and said she would replace the burger and comp our drinks. The hotel had already given us a drink voucher for free drink so they gave that back. We won’t be using it. The replacement burger I broke into tiny pieces before trying to eat it but the appetite was gone. Poor experience. We had planned breakfast there both mornings but that changed. I wish I had taken a picture of the metal but I was so shocked I just held it in my hand until the waiter came by. It was an inch and a half long with two sharp ends. Extremely dangerous and the restaurant seemed kinda casual over it which was surprising. Also to comp our already free drinks seemed like enough wasn’t done to try and fix the situation. We were still charged for the burger. Bite carefully if you choose to eat here.

The portions are really small for the price; even the fries are extra on top of a hamburger! So, it's only average and overpriced. What's more, the servers are nonchalant and forget orders… it's starting to add up for just a nice setting; you can find better.

What a lovely spot for lunch in the shade under those beautiful trees. We had a delicious meal. Highly recommended!

Cozy terrace by the park, friendly and good service, and a delicious ribeye.

Very cute place to visit with friends. I had dinner, and it was great to sit outside and enjoy the park and the nice weather. The menu is limited, but that’s okay. I had a burger, and it was decent. My friend enjoyed the fish of the day. The weird thing was that when I ordered the side salad, they brought me a plate of lettuce. Just lettuce. And then looked at me like I was the odd once when I asked why it didn’t have a dressing in it or anything else. That was a first…. Not sure who would want a 6 euro plate of yellowing lettuce. Overall, it was fine. Overpriced but fine. And they are dog friendly, which is what we needed.

No girl on Tinder will ghost you harder than this staff ​Seriously, if you want to know what it feels like to be completely invisible to the human race, just walk through their front doors. ​Nobody seats you, nobody hands you a menu, and nobody takes your order. After sitting there long enough to question my own existence, I finally asked if this was a self-service establishment. Spoiler: It isn't. The staff is just deeply committed to doing absolutely nothing. They moved with the urgency of a snail stuck in molasses. Honestly, you get the vibe that ignoring customers is a competitive sport here, and our server was taking home the gold medal. ​Pro Tip: Do yourself a favor and hit up a local coffeeshop to smoke some serious weed before you walk in. Trust me, you need to be on an entirely different astral plane just to find the staff's painfully slow tempo remotely enjoyable. It’s the only way to survive the wait without losing your mind.

We had a great lunch here. We had the fried egg sandwich twice, once with gluten-free bread and once with regular bread. The bread was deliciously toasted and there was plenty of food. The coffee was also fine, especially if you like stronger coffee. Additionally, free water was available. The service itself was fine too. However, the first order took a bit long to arrive, so we had to call a waiter ourselves. It wasn't necessarily bothersome, as it was busy, but it might be an area for improvement regarding the staff. Otherwise, we were helped well. The atmosphere was only ruined because the battery was stolen from my electric bike. I don't know if the bike parking spots belong to Cafe Park, but people with electric bikes, please be careful! There are no cameras and apparently it is necessary to remove your battery :(

Park restaurant has a great decoration and a wonderful view over the park which makes it a pleasure to be at. We arrived at 16.15 after a long day travelling and we were looking forward to have a late lunch or an early dinner. However this is rather a difficult time for late lunch or early dinner for this venue. On the menu it says “all day breakfast” which actually is only until 16.00 as well as all the lunch options. The dinner items could only be ordered as from 17.00, which left us with choosing only from the snacks options. As a result we ordered some cheese, meat and warm snacks. We thought is would have been automatically accompanied with cutlery and bread however that was not the case. Luckily the waitress was kinda nice to bring us some bread and cutlery after politely asking her. With having the bread we felt the items we ordered were enough to replace a late lunch or early dinner. However I would recommend to make the “all day breakfast” really an “all day breakfast” at least until 17.00 to give some extra options between 16.00 and 17.00. It is just a thought. I just returned and the service was so sweet. She was thinking along with me. The terrace is just amazing. Love the views.

This is the best green space indoors (they have a plant curator!) with lovely view terrace outdoors. Chimney in winter. I come regularly for a coffee and work. Staff is nice. Food ok.

Well... lovely spot to sit for a bit. Nice view over the park. But then this: (9:35 PM - kitchen open until 10 PM...) I want to order something to eat too. "Sorry, our kitchen staff has already gone home." Then the drinks arrive: Aperol Spritz (€12) lemonade in a wine glass... Whisky Sour (€14) Makes absolutely no sense. Well, let me be honest, I have enough whisky :) , but this is, too, not a cocktail worth mentioning. I think they sent the Shaker home already as well. A shame, but that outdoor terrace makes up for a lot.

According to the waitress this is not the correct place, they close at 11:30pm I guess and what maps it showing is not them

the atmosphere is really nice and staff is also very kind but food&service/price ratio is off, service was quite slow, which always impacts experience at restaurants for me personally. also the kitchen closes very early so even deserts/cheese are no longer available. beyond that however, the setting is really beautiful and so is the architecture both inside and outside

The staff didn't pay attention to customers or if they needed anything; they mostly looked at the floor. We had to wait quite a long time to order drinks and actually receive them. We ordered the food straight away, both starters and main courses. Unfortunately, everything arrived at the same time. The risotto was unseasoned, the cod hard, dry, and unseasoned. The fries were so salty, it was unbelievable. The only thing edible was the bread. I think it's a cook who isn't interested in his work at all. After asking for the bill three times, we finally got it. The waitress asked if we enjoyed the meal; uh, no, not good, it was very disappointing. Okay, then you only have to pay for the drinks.

We ordered a table for 2 people; it was inside, but we were able to sit outside due to the nice weather—wonderful! However, we had to wait a long time before we could order anything... what really surprised us was that there was no sweet white wine, only dry white wine... no Coca-Cola, but there was Pepsi... a shame. We finally got our drinks after 30 minutes, after asking for them... the food was disappointing; the risotto had a strange taste, and my girlfriend had fish, which was dry... we made this known as well. It was corrected properly when paying, though. Nice location, certainly in good weather, but don't expect too much from it.

We had a very nice dinner here on our second night from Canada. The restaurant was recommended by our AirBnB host. Unfortunately we could not eat outside, too cold. But the atmosphere inside was very nice and our servers couldn't have been better. Thank you Amani! The beer was excellent and we had a great bottle of wine. We were late for our reservation but were forgiven and treated royally.

I would recommend this place especially for its terrace as it overlooks the Oosterpark. The menu is a bit Mediterranean and classic, for me a good place to have drinks.

Beautiful interior design creates lovely ambience. The menu is short but the dishes are all very high quality. It is not cheap, but for excellent food it is not so much more expensive tha many places in Amsterdam where the food is not good. The extras (e.g. drinks) pushed the total bill up quite a lot. Went for a date night. Aside from the table seating, they have very nice circle of relaxed seating around open fireplace, nice for before or after dinner or just to stop in for drinks. Not been in summer but there is nice looking outdoor area overlooking Oosterpark.

Very happy with Park. I already knew it from the terrace, but now I've tried it inside. Great menu, urban vibe, and what's really special is that there are plenty of staff who speak Dutch and aren't afraid to make suggestions. Absolutely fantastic!

Guess I came in on the wrong night. Had to stand around awkwardly waiting to be seated before giving up and finding a place to sit, then being told I needed to sit somewhere else because of an event. Took 10 minutes for wait staff to take my drink order; then waited 30 minutes to place my food order, and eventually had to track down my waiter to ask to order food. When she finally got around to it I was told they were only serving small bites because of the event that night. Food was alright, nothing memorable; service was terrible and atmosphere was loud and unwelcoming. Also got no napkins.

I’m a regular customer here and the place is great. Food and service are good, and it’s a beautiful place overlooking the park. I just wish the bathroom mirrors were a bit longer, so that people who aren’t so tall could see! Hahaha

Business lunch, service was fast and pleasant, but the price-quality ratio was a bit off for what you get. Some rather limited choices with relatively small portions, unfortunately. However, it was exceptionally tasty and attractively presented on the plate.

This was our children's birthday celebration here for the fourth time, and we can only say it's fantastic. Every time, the staff is so kind and attentive. Everything is perfectly organized, giving us time to enjoy such a beautiful day. Highly recommended!

A beautiful terrace, nestled under the trees with a lovely view of the park. The service is friendly and helpful. The food is reasonable in quality and taste, but unfortunately not outstanding. The salad, for example, could be prepared with much more care. With a little more attention, it could be much better.

Perfect service, and a delicious lunch...

It all started well in a very pleasant setting with rather neat decor. We ordered a plate of charcuterie for 2 at €16. It was small and industrially produced, without even a slice of bread. We then ate an Iberian pork dish. Unfortunately, the side dish consisted of two small pieces of potato and four cherry tomatoes. The meat was good for the four bites I managed to eat amidst the fat... if you're hungry, move on because at €29 a dish, it's a rip-off. I told the server I was unhappy, but since the problem was the quantity and not the taste, they didn't offer me anything!

The terrace looked festive with pots of blooming hydrangeas between nicely set tables. The service was friendly and courteous and the food was fine. The only thing we missed was a small appetizer in advance, e.g. in the form of some bread and olive oil.

Service is always mediocre here. Inexperienced team and you often wait long. Location is great, especially the terrace is lovely. Food is good. Also enough vegetarian options.

The food wasn't particularly good for the price, wasn't well presented. And there was slow service. It took a long time for us to even be seen. The drinks weren't yet served to the meal. We needed bread with our meal because there were no other side dishes. It took very long to get it, and only after repeated requests. We left hungry. The restaurant aims to be high-quality, but can't quite deliver.

Great food in an exceptionally beautiful location. The Reuben sandwich had the tastiest sauerkraut I've ever eaten. If I was ever going to say a place is romantic, this is that place.

We eat dinner with my husband we do like everything, it was the best sea bass which i ever eat .

Vine por unos bocadillos y vino. Me dijeron que solo podíamos tener alimentos fritos y queso (no la charcutería que pedimos). El queso venía como una montaña de cubos con una olla de mostaza. Pedimos galletas saladas o pan, y nos dijeron que esto no era posible. Luego vimos a un ratón correr por el restaurante. Una experiencia cara y desagradable.

A Longtime Favorite with Great Views and Friendly Service. I’ve been coming to Park Café-Restaurant at Hotel Arena in Oosterpark for years, and it’s still one of my favorite spots in Amsterdam. Whether you’re sitting inside or out on the terrace, the setting is always beautiful – especially with the view over the park. The staff are consistently friendly and welcoming, which really adds to the relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Their homemade lemonade is super nice, the burger is always a solid choice, and they make a really good matcha – which is surprisingly hard to find in most places. While some of the lunch options can feel a bit pricey for what you get, the quality of the food is always good, and the ingredients are fresh. All in all, it’s a lovely spot for a relaxed lunch, a casual meeting, or just a break in the park – definitely worth a visit.

30 minutes before having a waiter coming to me (terasse half empty) ice coffee with more than half of the beverage being ice cubes (it was a shot of coffee in a big glass for 4,50€ in the end. Waiter and waitress looked stone as they don’t even understand difference between small (20cl) and big (75cl) bottle of water. Really nice place but service is really bad

Good place to have a drink in the sun on a nice day. It was quite busy and the service was doable. It’s not preferable to have a server wait until you finish your food to tale away the plates though. Overall a sufficient place to sit after a walk in the park.

After a nice walk we went for a drink and ordered a cake. It was super busy on the terrace, so we could only sit inside. But it was just after lunchtime, by the time we left there was a lot more seating available. The mocktail had a reasonable taste. The tarts tasted old. I have tasted Holtkamp cakes before and this was really substandard. The staff was friendly and hospitable. So I would come back here again, but then to order something different. It is a nice place to sit for a while.

We were there for my grandmother's birthday, very well looked after and received a warm welcome! We had a very tasty meal and even received chocolates and a card at the end. Definitely recommended!

30 minutes to bring a cup of coffee and a big mouth from the staff when I dared ask for it. In a more or less empty restaurant. The location is lovely but the staff are uninterested and rude to the point of being aggressive. Not a pleasant experience and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

No gluten free options on the cake bar, but they all looked amazing. Food bites on offer looked delicious. We had late night cup of tea and a lovely glass of wine. Very cosy atmosphere and the entrance before the restaurant has a great sharing seated area around an open log burning fire pit. The elegance of the restaurant is matched by the wait staff who are very welcoming and helpful.

The service was quite slow, it took a good 15 minutes until we got the card. And on the terrace, wooden furniture is rotten, as you can see in many corners. Neither of these fits with the claim that the Arena Hotel wants to convey.

Very pleasant visit, everyone was positive about the atmosphere, service and menu. Unfortunately, it later turned out that the four people who had ordered the Eggs, prepared in different ways, found that 1 egg each was "running" and the other was almost hard. That was a real shame. We will still be happy to come back, assuming that it is not just that 5 Eggs are ordered at the same time.

The restaurant is part of a hotel but its location is within one of the parks in Amsterdam city centre. It’s a really nice setting and an equally nice restaurant. The service on the day was good and we ordered an amazing vegan burger that was quite different from the usual ready-made vegan burgers we usually get. So this was a welcome change. We enjoyed our dinner and find the spot really nice.

Had a very nice afternoon in the beautiful garden of the restaurant to celebrate my birthday with friends. The location is very nice and not too busy. The staff was also friendly 😊

We were really well served, the food is delicious and it is a nice environment (we sat on the terrace): a really good restaurant (not cheap but you get what you pay for ;-) )

A huge piece of white plastic was inside the Cesar’s salad. When we brought it to their attention, they didn’t provide a good explanation or really apologize. They changed the salad and that was it. The service is very bad even though we have given it a few chances. We waited 15 to 20 minutes to order the food and in the end after a long wait we had to chase the waitress to bring the check. We don’t recommend that restaurant. The service is too bad and they let other objects in the food they serve.

Food was very nice, but portions were rather small - for a menu of 54 euro p.p.. Also, one modest slice of bread (starter) for every 3-4 persons wasn't exactly lavish. I saw around us food being served in bog portions of fries or roundish filled plates. That got me thinking. Apart from that: great service, good atmposphere.
