What a lovely spot! At Pâtisserie Castello in Burgh-Haamstede, we enjoyed a delicious cappuccino with a delightful pastry. In the cozy little garden at the back, basking in the lovely sunshine, it truly felt like a mini-vacation. The welcome from the two ladies who run Pâtisserie Castello was incredibly warm and hospitable. Their enthusiasm and friendliness make the picture complete. Thank you for this wonderful experience on our beautiful island of Schouwen-Duiveland!

Sometimes something is perfect and you give 4 stars because there is always something to improve. And sometimes there is enough to improve, and you simply can't help but give 5 stars. What could be improved? I certainly didn't have the best croissant, but the cakes were perfect! Nor was it the cheapest round of coffee. Still five stars? Perhaps also due to the beautiful weather? We were allowed to enjoy our order in the courtyard. Receiving full attention for just a moment in a charming little courtyard. Escaping the rush and hectic pace for a brief moment. So much effort to do things right must be rewarded. Moreover, the coffee was perhaps, as advertised outside, the best coffee in the Netherlands. Thank you, ladies, for this experience.

I bought two Zeeland boluses here this morning. The lady was customer-friendly. However, prices weren't listed anywhere. And yes, I certainly could have asked how much they cost, but I didn't. I had to pay €5.25 (dividing by 2 is a strange price per piece). I understand that they depend on the tourist season, but these are no longer normal prices. Next time I'll buy them in Renesse again (Everaers Bakery); they are even tastier there.

The coffee was delicious. The ladies were very friendly. They asked if we'd like to sit in the garden and closed the door so we could have some peace and quiet. The staff was lovely. Everything was quick. I don't know the price yet. But we can't confirm the negative comments.

We went to you for the first time this morning, on the recommendation of friends. Besides delicious muesli rolls, we received attentive service, friendly care, genuine interest in conversation, and of course, you also have excellent coffee! It might be a bit more expensive, but you should give small businesses a piece of your mind! Sincere work deserves sincere reward! And we have to be careful with these kinds of things, otherwise it'll all end up being a mess, right? So, it was our first visit, but definitely not our last!

I thought about getting 2 croissants with ham and cheese and 2 sausage rolls on Saturday morning. Firstly, I spent 12 euros, secondly, it was old, tough and dry.

This place is so expensive! This morning I bought 10 white rolls for €8.50, which is 0.85 euro cents for one! This is ridiculous. With these prices, you drive customers away. I'm never coming back.

The staff were unhappy with the visit from two families with children. They didn't give us a warm welcome.

While not the best coffee we've ever had, as advertised, but that's a matter of taste, the café does have some delicious cakes and pastries, and the bread is truly delicious (baked to order for us). Very friendly service, a nice café in a beautiful setting.

The best bakery in Zeeland. Two lovely ladies run the place, and coffee is always ready, as are the delicious pastries. Everything a bakery has to offer, and always time for a chat, a joke, and to make you happy. Even dogs are welcome to drink water and be treated to a cookie. They also sell small souvenirs and beautiful paintings of Zeeland's stunning scenery. Highly recommended to stop by, and you'll leave with a smile.

Stale, tough croissants and very old French sourdough bread. It should have been light and airy, but it was rock hard. And all that for 7 euros...that was the last time I went, too bad!

So I was driving on the Brouwersdam with a headwind and felt like having a cup of coffee. A kilometre later I thought, I'm going to have a nice filled cookie with it, one with that delicious almond paste. Where you can taste the butter. The cookie met the standard, nice crispy edge too. I repeated the scene. Another cup of coffee and a cookie. Apple turnover also called me. Was also very tasty. I mapped out a route using my placemat. (sorry madam no Colijnsplaat, really had to get away from that hot burning sun on the dike) Also two Zeeland bolussen for on the way. In principle eaten in Zeeland. Lovely in the shade. And super cool that I was allowed to put my phone in the charger. I do find some customers not friendly. Employee greeted everyone with good morning, sir and madam. But customer immediately starts bouncing with: if you had looked carefully, I came walking and he came by bike.... Great how she stays polite. I wouldn't have helped her anymore :-) So you're not allowed to greet each other or something? Furthermore, it was really cool that my phone was allowed in the charger. Will definitely come by again and thanks for all the fun, tips and information!

Super sweet ladies, nice garden and nice coffee with a bolus, delicious cookies and a souvenir

I was shocked by some of the unsympathetic reviews here. Sometimes says more about the customer and their expectations than about the business, I think. We (a family of 4) have been looking forward to a visit to the ladies of Castello every holiday since 2015. Even more important than the delicious pastries and the cozy courtyard is the friendliness, genuine interest and pleasant chat with which we are always welcomed by these 2 lovely ladies who do this with love, even though they should have been retired for 10 years and also have some health problems. Admittedly, it would be better to remove the term "Best cappuccino", because that is a bit exaggerated - taste is in any case very personal and only causes people to make very critical judgments (although it is certainly tastier than the ditch water that we got at the otherwise great bakery in Burgh). So your experience is largely determined by the way you enter, I think. We enjoy coming here every year! If you just want a quick and impersonal coffee, there are plenty of options in Burgh-Haamstede. But if you want to make time for a warm welcome and a delicious pastry in a charming hidden garden, be sure to visit these lovely ladies! Hopefully they can continue doing what they enjoy so much for a long time to come.

The word "Pâtisserie" is too ambitious.

Old croissants, tough, probably from the day before, also terribly expensive; 1 bread and two croissants for 8 euros!

I was here with my daughter last week. It's a really nice place. Loved their coffee and pastries. Very nice gift selection also. The women was so very friendly. For sure I will be back!

Unfortunately the coffee was very watery and not good. With a pastry for 12 euros, in Togo, that's not possible. Fats waited 25 minutes and then such poor quality... never again. Thanks for the answer to my review: the scenario described and the calculation are also not correct. It's a shame again, the place looks good, but doesn't keep what it promises. Unfortunately very expensive. Staff totally overwhelmed. The coffee was the worst I've ever drunk. Even one at the Hotel zur goldenen Möwe is better. Unfortunately not worth a second visit. Very long waiting time with hardly any customers in the store. Too bad...

Really cute shop, well priced too, super delicious cakes/tarts. They also spoke to us in a friendly manner, thank you for speaking German to us too. :) can only report positive things.

It's such a shame that they are so rarely open. The bread is so incredibly delicious. At least here they still make things themselves. Please call in advance if you want something special. Freeze bread and then toast it in the toaster.

Very fine range of homemade patisserie products. For me, one of the best patisserie in the surrounding area. It's always worth a trip to expand your hip belt.

Un grand merci pour votre accueil très sympathique (et en français***) peu avant la fermeture. Bonne brioche aux raisins et pâte d'amande. Alors que nous nous étions installés sur la petite place face à la boulangerie, la dame, nous a rejoint avec un grand couteau pour nous permettre de la couper (⁠•⁠‿⁠•⁠) Puis dans la discussion qui a suivi, elle a très gentiment répondu à nos questions et a su nous donner de bons conseils, nous indiquant un agréable camping à la ferme tout proche ( Eldorado)... Idéal pour deux cyclistes et leur petite tante.

In de namiddag Cappuccino To Go gehaald met een appelflap. Volgens de eigenaresse de beste cappuccino van heel Zeeland op zijn Italiaans. Helaas deel ik deze mening niet. De cappuccino was gloeiend heet met weinig schuim. €3.50 voor een To Go is uiteraard ook niet Italiaans. De appelflap a €2,75 was ook niet echt vers meer. Vandaag hetzelfde op een camping genoten cappuccino To go €1,00 en verse appelflap € 1.25 Hier wel van genoten Het kan dus wel.

Op de gevel staat heel groot 'belegde broodjes', maar die hebben ze dus alleen op bestelling... We kwamen rond 12:30 en er waren nog maar weinig andere 'lekkere broodjes'. Worstenbroodjes (waren er nog maar 2) en saucijzenbroodjes werden in de magnetron opgewarmd en werden dus taai. Betreft geen patisserie maar een schilderij en kado winkel! Jammer...

Total nette Bedienung. Bestellung sofort aufgenommen und mich in den mir unbekannten kleinen Garten mit Sitzkissen Kaffee und Kuchen an einen der 2 Kl.Tische geführt.

Natuurlijk zijn hier de zeeuwse bolussen te koop en andere lekkernijen. Ook kun je er koffie to go halen. TIP Lekker op een bankje met uitzicht op kasteel Haemstede opeten en drinken

Onlangs hier in het knusse beschutte binnentuintje gezeten, we hadden een thee, een cappuccino en 2 gebakjes. De bediening was vriendelijk en het smaakte goed behalve de cappuccino die viel tegen en vond ik meer naar gewone koffie met melkschuim smaken. Misschien waren mijn verwachtingen te hoog, er staat een bord; de beste cappuccino van Haamstede....... Het was best nog vrij prijzig €14,-

Wir waren letzte Woche vor Ort, und muss sagen ich hab den besten Cappuccino Hollands getrunken. Der Kuchen ist hervorragend und das Personal sehr nett. Die Terrasse ist ein kleiner Garten Eden, wunderschön und romantisch. Vielen Dank, wir kommen wieder.😃

Der Cappuccino war eher ein Kaffee und sicher nicht "der beste Cappuccino", so wie beworben. Vielleicht ist das Geschmackssache, leider hat die extrem unfreundliche Bedienung die letzte Freude am Getränk dann genommen. Selten so unfreundlich bedient worden! Fazit: Ein mal und nicht nochmal!
