We had a delicious lunch. An extensive menu. Friendly and good service. Our only complaint was that it took a while for our drinks to be taken.

Great, friendly service, great atmosphere. We went last night. My husband's mother-in-law's food looked good. My chicken satay wasn't as good as usual, and the satay sauce was very dark and not very tasty.

A lovely spot to eat, the boats and the surrounding houses are charming. It was cold; the heaters were on, but there was no heat by the window. You had to share the fries (small cup) between two people. The rhubarb was also minimal, and also shared. You can order extra, but you have to pay for it. The schnitzel was overcooked, and the menu was overpriced for the price. Apperol was 8.50. I wonder if you come alone if you get half the fries and rhubarb. The service was excellent!

We took a break here during a wonderful bike ride and enjoyed a truly delicious meal. The service was very friendly, and the ambiance in the conservatory was exceptionally pleasant. For us, it was the perfect end to a wonderful vacation.

What a disappointment! I ordered sorbet with whipped cream, but the ice cream was mediocre, but the whipped cream was fake. A bit of a knock-knock situation from the past. When we went to pay, we also had to pay for drinks we hadn't ordered. I refused, of course, and then the waiter said she was going to check the camera footage. "Because it was entered by the same colleague at the same time." We hadn't ordered from anyone at all, but through a QR code. She refused to believe me. The place is nice, the whipped cream is fake, and the hospitality is nonexistent.

Today, full of good spirits and enthusiasm, I went to Overdiep for a bite to eat with my son. The carpaccio main course was fine, which hasn't always been the case. For my main course, I ordered the rump steak and specified that I wanted it medium-rare. The very friendly waitress noted this on the receipt. When I received my steak, it was already cooked past medium. I'm not a whiner, but I don't want a steak that well-done. The waitress immediately took my food away. After about fifteen minutes, when my son had almost finished eating, my new steak arrived. This time even more well-done than the previous one. Afterward, on a crowded terrace, I had a conversation with the manager on duty. She claimed the waitress hadn't placed the order correctly, which is categorically untrue. A steak is returned because it's overcooked, and as a chef, you think: I'll cook the next one a bit more. In my years in the hospitality industry, I've learned that if a customer has a legitimate complaint, the bill is torn up and dessert and coffee are offered. I discussed this with the manager, who told me she didn't have the authority to do so. What I did get, after asking, was that my dish was taken off the bill. I also received a yellow card (strange concept). This means that next time you'll get a main course for free, expecting you to order drinks, an appetizer, and dessert. Then they'll make money off you again. Shame on the owners of this restaurant. You're allowing managers with no authority to solve problems this way. This reminds me of last year. I ordered a coffee and a Grand Marnier. The drink did come from a Grand Marnier bottle, but I'm almost 100% convinced it wasn't Grand Marnier but a cheaper orange liqueur. I pointed this out, but nothing was done about it. PS: It's not about money for me; I'll happily pay if I get what I order, even though it's quite expensive at Overdiep considering the quality of the food. I think Overdiep handled my complaint(s) poorly. Time for improvement, owners!

It's a great restaurant. Delicious food. Good service. When it's busy, they sometimes get an order wrong. But what's truly outrageous is that two people are eating together and each person gets a small cup with fries. 10 pieces each, and they're finished. Then they ask, "Can I have more fries?" It costs an extra €2.50. That cup contains about 10 pieces of fries for each person. And that's when the two of you spend just over €100. Again, absolutely outrageous.

We sat on the terrace by the marina. One of the waitresses was quite curt, the others weren't. The food was very tasty.

The excuse is ridiculous: not enough glasses, so we're not taking tables anymore, not even for drinks. What kind of hospitality entrepreneur are you then? This is terrible.

Nice dinner for two. Service was good with decent handoff between multiple staff members. We dined inside, but with the nice weather we had, the outside terrace was popular. Picture shows salmon filet meal. We did not have alcohol, but it looked like they had some good selection. Short walk to downtown Appingedam or the hanging kitchens.

We rented a small boat (electric sloop) here for an afternoon of sailing. The boat was very easy to book online, we received excellent instructions upon boarding, and it was very comfortable. We had a wonderful afternoon. The deposit was promptly refunded. Highly recommended if you're looking for an afternoon of sailing.

Mooie plek aan het water, helaas was het eten niet best, 2 personen hadden de spareribs .. dat was 1 uiterst bleek ribbetje met een beetje ketchup , en erg taai, na een half ribbetje maar laten liggen, de rengdang smakeloos, begrijp niet dat je dit je gasten voor kunt zetten... e.e.a aangegeven bij de bediening, kregen als goedmakertje een gratis kop koffie... prima plek voor een biertje of wijntje, maar eten doen we hier beslist nooit weer.

On Saturday afternoon around 4 p.m., three people went to the Pavilion for a drink. About half the tables on the terrace were unoccupied, but we were turned away. The staff was on break, and the terrace needed to be rearranged! The Pavilion clearly has it too good, it's not worth it.

On a Tuesday late morning my husband and I walked in here for a sandwich. There were about 12 tables occupied (including outside) so nice and quiet we thought. Unfortunately we were sent away after sitting down because they didn't have enough cutlery. The light outside was green. I thought it was very rude to let people sit down first and then send them away. Not for us again.

Waited an hour and still went home hungry What a bad experience. We came in full of good spirits and were politely shown to a table. We first ordered something to drink, but even that took 15 minutes before it was on the table. Immediately afterwards we placed our order, including a bread board to make the wait a bit more pleasant. But that wait… after a full hour still no food. When we asked, they suddenly said that it would be “prepared right away”. But at that moment, enough was enough. We decided to just pay for the drinks and just go to McDonald’s – you are helped within 10 minutes, and that says enough. What made it even worse: there were more than enough staff walking around, but no one looked our way once. We just sat there waiting, ignored, while tables that came in after us were served food. For us this was the first and last time. Bad service, long waiting time and no attention at all for the customer. A waste of an evening.

Tsja, het ziet er allemaal goed uit. Mooie plek aan de waterkant, een lekker zonnetje. Maar Overdiep wil niet lekker op gang komen. Rommelige afspraak rond reserveren, aardige maar minder adequate bediening en als echt zorgpunt een keuken die vlak en smakeloos gerechten klaar maakt. Los van de erg kruidige mosterdsoep was het ‘12 uurtje’ van het huis een vlakke combinatie van gerechten die een ding gemeen hadden. Weinig smaakvol. Jammer.

We walked in without a reservation and, after consulting with the kitchen, were allowed to find a seat due to the crowds. It might take a little longer, but it wasn't too bad. I think I seriously had one of the tastiest spareribs ever here. Well marinated, easy to get off the bone but not too much. A bit of fiddling is part of it and it tastes good. Hamburg was also very good and the fries with not too much salt and a tasty sauce. The staff was also friendly and helpful. The restaurant is also very attractively decorated. Definitely recommended!!

We just had dinner here with 14 people. Initially it was 16, but unfortunately 2 less due to illness. This clearly indicated upon arrival that there were 2 of us less, this was no problem. To our surprise, we had to pay for 16 people, this could have been reported in advance by the employees. Good to know that we also had food for 14 people on the table instead of 16. Never again for us.

Had Easter brunch at the Pavilion yesterday. The food was delicious, fresh and more than enough! We even had food left over that we could take with us, neatly packaged, upon request. The staff was also very friendly. Definitely recommended!

The food was fine, just a pity about the small sandwiches, toppings were great but too large slices of ham, cheese and croquette for the sandwiches

It all took a very long time. Drinks were only taken after about 20 minutes. 40 minutes later we walked to the counter to indicate that we would like to order something to eat and new drinks. We ordered Burgundian croquettes with which we would like mayo in addition to mustard. Only got mayo. Then I indicated that at least my girlfriend would like mustard with it, this would be brought, but unfortunately. We ended up getting 2 drinks on the house. Correctly! But there are still gains to be made here.

The location is nice and cozy on a harbor, the service is a bit awkward but they do their best, food is good but the price is really too high, a bruschetta as a starter and salmon as a main, a piece of barely 200 grams and then charging almost €40 is really too much for what is offered. The catering industry is slowly but surely pricing itself out of the market, it is not that you can afford it but that you still want to pay it!

Unfortunately we did not manage to eat in this restaurant. No one from the staff approached us - we waited quite a long time. The view from the windows is terrible - all around renovation.

Last afternoon we sat on your terrace, where unfortunately we had to wait several times for service for up to 20/30 minutes. At one point we went inside because of the cold and here too we had to ask for a new drink. It is therefore very striking that the staff is on their phone while we as guests are waiting. We have never experienced this here before and so it is a great shame, because of this we have decided not to stay for a bite to eat with you, which is of course a great shame.

Great location for a bite to eat. The Thai curry was Dutch spicy (not so), but with some extra spicy sauce it is much spicier. Delivered garnishes are replenished if desired. Both drinks and food were delivered quickly. Staff is friendly and fast. Chicken satay is nice and tender and if you are a little more hungry, it is best to order an extra satay skewer (this is an option on the menu).

Wederom gewijgerd vanwege zogenaanmde drukte ondanks dat er meerderetafel vrij zijn, we kwamen wederom alleen voor een drankje en er waren onder bij het water 3 tafels vrij, maar toch krijg je wederom te horen dat het te druk is voor de bediening en dat is ongelofelijk met meerdere vrije tafels waar zeker plaatis voor 30 personen..... hoe is het mogelijk.... Gaat het te goed????

We have bad experience on our first visit to this place. Ordered iced coffee three times. These turned out to be even waterier than the water around the pavilion. When we indicated that we would like something different, the initial response was negative, because "everyone" loved the iced coffee. "Never had any complaints." Ultimately, the suspected manager turned out to be willing to exchange the watery intention for a cappuccino. It became clear that our complaint was not appreciated: the three of us were completely ignored for the rest of our visit. Greetings after our departure were of course impossible. Now a few years later. Hoping to turn an unpleasant experience into a positive one, we visited this establishment again. Asked politely at the start if there was room. At the table in question we also politely asked if the four of us (two kids and two adults) could sit there. "Yes, indeed. No problem." Only to be told five minutes later by the same girl: "No, you are not supposed to sit here like this. You can either sit inside or at the other table (right in the sun)." Really in a tone as if we ourselves had decided to take a seat this way. Today it is 29°C, so the choice to have a cold drink somewhere else was an obvious one. That left the staff completely on their side. No other solution or even an attempt to think along. Upon departure, we are now well aware that there was no sign or need for any form of greetings at all. Understandably, we will never, ever visit here again.

Nice location in the summer, overlooking the harbor

Always liked coming here, but after today never again. After a bike ride, I wanted to sit on the terrace with my mother for a drink, so I could enjoy a beautiful sunny afternoon. We saw the traffic light was red, but there was no one inside and the terrace outside was not even half full. As we walk past the bar, we are stopped by an employee who was standing behind the bar with a colleague. We explain that we would like to have a drink on the terrace, but the employee said that was not possible, because the staff had a break and would return at 5 o'clock. I look at the clock and say “it's 5 to 5”. “Yes exactly, please wait outside until 5 o'clock until the staff returns.” Even when we said that we didn't mind waiting a little longer, we were not allowed to wait on the terrace. We were simply sent away and I can't imagine this is the policy. We walked outside again in amazement. Outside we indeed saw that the chefs and servers were standing together next to the bridge and went back inside at just before five. I have such a bad feeling about this. I no longer recognize the hospitality that was always there before.

A nice restaurant with delicious food and good service. At checkout we were not asked whether everything was satisfactory, hence this review: we wondered what exactly was Burgundian about the croquettes (13 out of a dozen from the wholesaler) and why the wrap with fried torpedo shrimp only costs a little more than the was half full. Completely filled with lettuce, by the way... Furthermore, I actually missed a bowl of chili sauce next to the wrap. But to be honest, it tasted great, so we will definitely come again.
