Pazzi Oost in Transvaalbuurt

In short, pizza is decent but the service was horrible. I am a person of colour and I think the bad interaction was because of this. I had ordered for pick up, I had forgotten to add chili oil on the pizza. I asked for some to take away and went to explain that there is a charge for this. And then I just suggested if I add some drops from the bottle that is on the counter. He said that is for customers inside, and I asked if the pizza costs the same for pick or dine in. And he then argued that people who dine in may order drinks and stuff like this, and i said well you also can’t and maybe don’t. Then he said oil is 15 euros per liter now, and well i am not interested in all this, i understand why it may costs extra for a to go container of oil, it felt targeted why it I should be charged if i or them were to add some some oil on top of the pizza instead of needing to take a container away. Anyways, it’s not about the money, it’s very little but I thought it was a very rude interaction the way he argued why I can’t add some oil to the pizza. I know in the Netherlands this is sort of thing is expected but I couldn’t find the logic in this encounter, while I have asked this at other nice/nicer pizza places in amsterdam and it has been honored.

We came here on a Saturday evening as a table of 4. It was busy but we were able to get a table. The waiters and waitresses were well knowledgeable about the menu items and gave us a good recommendation for a bottle of wine. The regular pizzas were great but the gluten free pizza base had a cardboard texture. Overall it was a good experience but as someone who can’t eat gluten i unfortunately wouldn’t go back.

What a lovely place! Completely full, yet there was a lot of foot traffic. We were given a waiting spot by the window, but we liked it so much that we stayed. The service was truly friendly and genuine. The host took the time to answer our questions and offered us limoncello on the house after dessert. The food was also impeccable! Just a quick photo of the tiramisu before it was gone: it was delicious!

Yesterday we came to the restaurant, nice place , but I was deeply shocked and saddened with the fact that a waiter denied access to the toilet for a delivery guy . It was horrible to watch that a waiter was calling to police just because a delivery guy came to toilet.

Ordered through Uber Eats, delivery was fast and efficient, but what I found in the boxes was a soggy, tasteless mess... the pizzas had burnt edges, and every bite tasted of burnt bits. What's that homemade chili oil supposed to be? It turned out to be just old oil. Never again!

Good pizza. Long waiting time when ordering delivery. I would suggest to not add so many herbs on prosciutto pizza. The rest is good.

If it’s not the best pizza I’ve ever had it is at least top 5. Delicious, super nice and chatty atmosphere. Exquisite wine, ice cold moretti invigorating espresso martini and flawless tiramisu. Do yourself a favour and eat at pazzi. On top of it, it’s decently priced for the quality of place and food they offer

Wow, great pizza!!! I had high expectations given the reviews and in fact I was not disappointed. Well-leavened dough, sweet tomato, very fresh buffalo mozzarella and all the other ingredients. We had Margherita, diavola, and capricciosa, Moretti draft beer. Quick service even though the place was full. Kindness and a chat with the staff completed the pleasant evening. A little corner of Italy in the Ost district of Amsterdam that is definitely worth trying!!

They forgot to make my pizza, then brought some lame excuses that they waited me to finish my starters. I waited after starters for 15mins for someone to come and only then they started to make my pizza, I don't buy this bs.

Super nice place! If my pizza had been in the oven for 5 minutes longer it would have been great. Tomato sauce was still very watery. Because of the positive reactions I ordered tiramisu. Texture: great. But the taste… I missed courage, that cheeky wink of Marsala or Amaretto!

Great Italian food. Very original. Lovely place with great service. Friendly waiters. If I visit Amsterdam, I always come here. The prices are very ok. Parking can be a bit challenging. If possible come at off-peak times. Inside it's more convenient than outside

We went here on the recommendation of a friend who lives in town. They were quite busy but fitted us in at the bar (no reso). Got a basic marg pizza and it was fantastic. Ambiance was lovely, very cozy, and the service was professional and friendly. Best pizza I’ve hard in Northern Europe and a good value.

We were visiting Amsterdam for a week and our hotel was closed by. Wanted to get pizza ! It was so good ! Best pizza I ever had! But we are from the US so we don’t have organic meals in a lot of places. But I highly recommend and will come back again

My family and I came in with with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience fell short. While the service was impeccable and attentive, a nice decor, the food was a major letdown. The pizzas were mediocre at best—lacking flavor and creativity. Other dishes we tried were equally disappointing, lacking taste and bold flavors you'd expect. What truly left a bad taste was being charged for tap water, which I noticed others have mentioned as well. Given the overall experience, it’s not a place I would return to or recommend.

Delicious caprese pizza. Exactly well-filled and with a nice crispy crust on the outside. Staff was great and so was the decor. The homemade tiramisu was the icing on the cake. Only on the tiramisu.

We come here sometimes with kids as is near a park and pizzas are generally good. But this time I was shocked by the cost at the end- the ‘special’ starter had no price given- octopus salad to share didn’t taste great- slightly raw bits of carrot and celery. Turned out it cost 19euro!! And the pizza of day, again no price shown was non meat and no expensive ingredients also 19euro! That is just way too higher cost for what they were. Tip- 2 kids share margherita much better than kids one each.

The pizza was nice and tasty. However, they offered us free water when we entered. Therefore i still got another drink. Then jn the end they actually charge us for normal water per person. This is crazy expensive for just water and i would not have ordered others drinks if it was charged. The waiter even told us it was free, so it just leaves a dissapointing taste in my mouth if the try to scam the guests with such sad tactics. Food was good but will not go back not recommend.

He took the time to tell us about his hometown in Italy, and he was so friendly and stayed to speak with us even as it was closing time! Great experience and highly recommend!

We used to go there a lot but I won’t be going anymore. They bring you tap water and open sparkling water without a brand, apparently prepared with machine and ask 3-5 euro per bottle. Be ready to pay tap waters equal to your pizza price

Very high prices, average quality food. When we sat down we were asked if we wanted water on the table. You think, how nice and that's what we're used to in Italy! We ended up having to pay 6 euros (3 pp) unannounced for half a liter. Moreover, it was brought in a carafe of about half a liter, so it could well have been ordinary tap water. The carpaccio was the extra starter today. The meat was far too cold and certainly not as tender as carpaccio should be, it was not quite chewy. The burrata was nice and creamy. The pizzas were okay, but they are pretty much everywhere these days. 4 glasses of Chardonnay, a scroppino and three espressos and we paid 111 euros. Yes, I know, Amsterdam 2024...

Great Parmigiana and Tiramisu, solid pizza! The Parmigiana as a starter was really delicious, had a pizza Margherita which tasted well too - not the best pizza I have ever had but definitely solid. The area is really nice in Oost, I sat outside on a sunny day. The Tiramisu was delicious! Service super welcoming and polite. Can recommend!

We love to go to Pazzi Oost for a quick super delicious pizza, but also when we want stay longer and enjoy a good glass of wine. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is cosy. Pazzi Oost is absolutely worth going!

Tasty starters, one with beetroot and Italian cheese and shrimps in tomato sauce. And two delicious pazzi pizzas, a bottle of wine, on the terrace with a lot of attention.

A very pleasant neighborhood restaurant with a small but well-composed menu. Taste and wonderfully prepared. Dare to go for something other than pizza. Lorenzo and Lara are just lovely and genuinely concerned about their guests. Highly recommended.

As always, we enjoyed our pizzas and drinks very much. It’s nice to have a restaurant like this in the neighborhood! Service was also very good where we were treated with a smiling face and kindness, everything we needed was on the table extremely fast. I personally find reviews about delivery a bit unjust, especially because this is not a chain pizza place like dominos and papajohns but a proper restaurant. They’re also adding their service in prices which you can receive at the location. Lastly, I have never ordered a pizza that I didn’t have to warm up at home. Delivery apps even give you a warning that you have to rewarm your pizza when you order.

Delicious Italian pizza baked in a wood fire oven. My server Lorenzo did an excellent job 👌. Absolutely worth the trek there.
