Such a nice place and friendly service

I think this is the nicest cafe in town ♡ I feel so happy to have found such a relaxing place while living in Nijmegen. The interior and tableware are lovely, the cakes and drinks are delicious, and I was able to spend a relaxing time there. Thank you :) ♡

Quirky coffee shop next to the church , lovely coffee

A charming address in the upper town, both the interior and the storefront. The service is very pleasant, the prices are reasonable. A little hesitant when it came to giving five stars to the cuisine because the dishes are a little simple, before remembering which country I was in; healthy and quite tasty dishes clearly above the average of what you can find in the Netherlands. If you are looking for a place to eat or have a drink in Nijmegen, I recommend Philipse without any reservation.

Just a few steps away from the completely overrun market square, this cafe is located in a beautiful alley with a great atmosphere, coffee & cake as well as easy listening jazz from the record player.

Great food, supercute, very kind servers

The location was quite difficult to reach and is located behind the church which is currently being restored. We searched Google for a suitable place for a cup of coffee and something tasty and came across this address. Well, it is a nice cozy location and two friendly ladies who welcomed us hospitably. We were interested in the cakes that were on offer and asked if the apple pie was fresh... The waitress said yes and we decided to order their cake with whipped cream... whipped cream. Okay, we got a nice chocolate and the cake was old, it was soft on the back and we really enjoyed it so we certainly won't be going back here. The coffee was served in small English cups, very nice, but also much less content... So here too, the saying goes: trust is good but checking is better😏

Had a lovely lunch here yesterday! I had the Philipse board, which consisted of all kinds of different treats, such as curds with granola and fruit, banana bread and a sandwich with tomato chutney and cheese. Really delicious! My lunch companions both had bread with mushrooms, which were richly topped and really great. We will definitely come back!

Terrible customer service, arrogance and ignorance, they told us an invented law stating that if we didn't consume in a group we had to leave the establishment, taking advantage of the fact that we weren't from this country and we didn’t know the laws. Nevertheless, nice decoration.

Very nice, atmospheric and good coffee cafe. It is located in a beautiful historic location next to the Stevenskerk in the center of Nijmegen. Delicious cake with coffee or tea and a wide choice. The service is exceptionally friendly. A wonderful establishment to stay for a while and experience the nice atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Very disappointing! We entered into a damp room and were given lots of sweet snacks and a small selection of savory snacks, with an average wait of 1 hour for each round (3 in total). We had previously expected an original high tea starting with savory snacks, followed by a taste transition from savory to sweet (e.g. scones) and then ending with sweet snacks. We also didn't think the sweet snacks were very classic and consisted mainly of overly sweet chocolate caramel tarts, cubes of nougat and macarons. The selection of free tea was nice, but at the end of the high tea it seemed more like hot water than tea. Tip. Our neighbors' lunch looked delicious so I would say don't go to Philipse for a High Tea but try lunch.

The food was great. We had brie toasties and a champignon one. We were all happy with our food and service. The atmosphere of this place was also really nice, it felt really cozy. If you’re in Nijmegen give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed!:)

We became aware of the café because several women were waiting in front of it to open. So we went in spontaneously and were thrilled. The ambience and interior are designed to be really cool: vintage ceramics, vintage porcelain. Delicious coffee and good cuisine selection. A recommendation

Went back a few weeks and it is a nice tent in a nice hidden spot in Nijmegen. Delicious food and many interesting options, coffee was tasty and the staff friendly. I love how the food and drinks are presented. Will definitely come back someday

Cozy lunch restaurant where they also serve high tea and such is located a bit hidden near the center of Nijmegen. I had a nice meal there.

When we go to Nijmegen, we always like to have a cup of coffee here. Get away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the peace and quiet and homemade cakes. Flapjack is highly recommended!

Beautiful place with seats between the Stevenskerk and some old facades. The service is smooth and friendly, with time for a chat. And the lunch platter I ordered made me happy, just by the sight of it! It was as delicious as it looked. Whenever I'm in Nijmegen I stop here for a plaster, I'm happy to see that it's still there.

Very nice restaurant in a very beautiful place in Nijmegen. Tastefully decorated with all kinds of vintage items. Games on the windowsills are always a plus. Lunch is good and affordable. The Philipse plank is delicious and varied. Sustainable food for not too much. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

Sfeervol genieten van High Tea. Lieflijk en nostalgisch servies, heerlijke hapjes. Kleinschalig en idyllisch gelegen. Mogelijk hebben andere gasten wat last van ons gehad. De akoestiek is niet optimaal. Maar zeker een aanrader!

Letterlijk elk gerecht bij de High Tea was heerlijk. Veel verschillende thee smaken, vers en biologisch, maar ook nog eens onbeperkt. Ik kan het iedereen aanraden!

One of the most beautiful and cozy coffee shops i have ever seen.

Hidden café in the smallest street behind the church. A lot of tea sorts, the chai tea was a bit sad. Just milk and cinnamon.

Philipse zit wat verborgen achter de Stevenskerk, maar als je het eenmaal gevonden hebt is het heel erg de moeite waard. In een middeleeuws pandje, omringd door allerlei oude tot zeer oude spullen kun je hier heerlijk lunchen in een fijne ontspannen sfeer.

Super gezellig zaakje. Lekker koffie en bonbons. Vriendelijk personeel. Mooie locatie voor hightea. Ook spelletjes aanwezig.

Dit is een leuke plek. Heerlijke warme chocolademelk gedronken met zelfgebakken bananen brood. En wat een leuke brocanten.

Knus koffietentje met flinke keuze aan koffie, thee en chai lattes. Daarnaast heerlijke gebakjes in een hele fijne sfeer. Even zoeken, want je loopt er niet zomaar langs, maar zeker het bezoeken waard!

Wat een ontzettend leuk en gezellige eetgelegenheid,alle moeite wordt er gedaan het iedereen naar de zin te maken,de lunch was echt super. Eigenaresse en personeel zijn erg gezellig en goedlachs TOP zaak in hartje Nijmegen.

Ich hatte die hausgemachte Suppe, heute Linsensuppe. Meeeega lecker, etwas spicy! Super nette Bedienung! Sehr ruhig in einer schmalen Gasse hinter der Kirche gelegen. 🤩

Wij waren door onze kleinkinderen samen met hun vriend en vriendin uitgenodigd voor een high tea bij PHILIPSEN. Het was geweldig. Gezellige en vriendelijke bediening. De keuze van de thee was veelzijdig. Lekkere verse thee. En de aangeboden versnaperingen waren allemaal even lekker. Onze complimenten.

Wij hebben hier met z’n tweeën de high tea gehad. Het eten was erg lekker en origineel, de verschillende gangen waren goed afgewisseld met elkaar. De mensen in de bediening waren erg vriendelijk en lekker rustig. Het interieur is ook prachtig en het restaurantje zit op een mooie locatie in de stad.

Prachtige locatie, lief en kneuterig. En heerlijk eten.
