What a delicious lunch. Cozy little place, incredibly friendly service. A fantastic experience.

We sat outside on a busy road. Even though it was very quiet, we had to wait a long time for our lunch. We had two double sandwiches with salmon and two cups of tea and were charged €35. That's disproportionate to what you get, so I'm out.

I’ve been a couple of times and the food is ok. A bit too expensive for the quality though. However, the service is usually really bad. When you manage to get attended, they charge things twice, or have the wrong things in the bill. The last time I went I didn’t even order. I sat in the terrace. The waiter was attending someone next to me, looked at me and just went back inside. After 20 minutes he didn’t come back and I left. As I said, it’s just fine for food, but if you want to have your meal at a normal speed it’s a no go (specially if you’re in a hurry).

Great option for breakfast We ordered the Nicks breakfast and avocado toast. It was delicious and satiating.

My husband and I stumbled upon this lovely local bistro by chance because we were starving. The avocado toast with poached eggs turned out to be the best avocado toast we've ever eaten. We also had the fruit pancakes, and all I can say is, the pancakes were super fluffy and bursting with flavor. The staff was also first-class. Thank you for our perfect brunch.

After waiting 40 minutes for our food there was suddenly no more bread? This could have been better..... for us a last time unfortunately. Waste of time

Had a lovely late breakfast. Think it was called a Nick platter or something similar. The lady who served us was really friendly and welcoming and invited us to ask her if we had any questions about things to do or see whilst visiting Rotterdam as it was our first time. Sat outside in the front as the weather was lovely. Definitely recommend

We were looking forward to coming here for a late breakfast. The staff were friendly, chatty and attentive. We were served promptly. The menu is great, and I chose the platter for breakfast and this was really good. It came with tasty bread, cheeses, salad , poached egg and avocado and yogurt and fruit. All of it was tasty and filling. I also feel the price was reasonable. There is agoo selection on the menu to accommodate all tastes and budgets. I would highly recommend this place if you are passing ☺️

Mijn lunch was GEWELDIG! Nick’s Platter met koffie, vers sinaasappelsap, héérlijke toast, avocado, kaas en een perfect gepocheerd eitje! En yoghurt met granola en vers fruit!

Lovely staff, beautifully made cappuccino, fabulous scrambled eggs on sourdough bread with a little salad on the side. Unfortunately for me I couldn't return the following day as they are closed on Wednesdays.

Accessible and friendly service, the place has a comfortable homely atmosphere and tasteful and fresh decor. The acai bowl is packed with flavor and delicious cappuccino oat milk. I immediately felt comfortable in this place! Recommended to take a seat inside :)

Can’t really reccomend. Crispy chicken was mediocre, chicken only covered 2/3 of sandwich so i eat 1/3 mayo sandwich. Chicken also wasn’t particularly tasty. Scones are also below average. Coffee and smoothie were good.

Passed by for lunch. They have an early bird special for brunch (until 11 o’clock). Ordered: * the açai bowl * the pancakes w/ maple syrup & fresh fruit * the scone w/ jam & cream I did not try the pancakes, but my friend said they were tasty. I did enjoy the açai bowl. It was served with crispy granola (w/o raisins) and fresh fruit. The scone was average. The inside was a little soft and a bit dry. The edges were too crispy. The jam was tasty. Homemade(?) strawberry jam. The cream was not very tasty. It tasted like butter. And, it is supposed to taste more milky than buttery. Also ordered a few coffees. The americano was fine. But all the coffees w/ milk arrived lukewarm and were not very enjoyable to drink.

Very nice friendly and attentive service. Music not too loud. Food good. We sat near the back door. The host walked all the way around to set up the chairs on the terrace so he didn't have to disturb us. This was much appreciated (Saturday 26/10 around 9:00 am)

The eggs there are really delicious with avocado or salmon, the coffee is great. The place is cozy and staff are helpful. The scones with jam are also very yummy!

Good food, cozy place. It was just a very long wait for a fairly simple order. It was very busy, but I appreciate it if they give a heads up. The service did its best, but had a lot of difficulty understanding us.

Im sorry guys but the coffee was soo awful, the worst coffee I had in Rotterdam.

Ordered coffee. Received lukewarm coffee. Coffee should be hot. Ordered another coffee. The glass was about a quarter full, there was so little coffee in it. And that for 3.75 euros per coffee. Shame.

Service is somewhat slow, avocado toast was decent but the French toast very underwhelming.

We stayed in a hotel nearby for a few days. Deliberately did not book breakfast at the hotel. We just wanted to try something new/different. We came across Nick by chance. The menu includes an “early bird” breakfast. If you are there after 11 am, it will be slightly more expensive. A really good and complete breakfast. Tasty warm croissant, toasted bread, plenty of cheese, jam and even a delicious boiled egg. Tea or coffee and a glass of juice and a yoghurt with granola. We liked it so much that we had breakfast here again on the 2nd day. This time we sat outside, the temperature was fine and the music inside was way too loud. After we asked if the music could be turned down a bit, it was turned down a bit. This time too, the breakfast was delicious. In our opinion, definitely worth it.

Waiting for a breakfast for 1.5 hours now, still not there :) Too bad the place is not good anymore.

The business has a new owner and that requires an adjustment to my review. Unfortunately, this one isn't that good. There were few other customers during my visit. I had to wait a very long time for a sandwich and only got cheese even though I had ordered ham and cheese. It really was the most standard sandwich you can make at home. The tea was fine. The staff offered to make it again but I didn't feel like waiting that long again and didn't want to waste anything. No further questions from the staff. At one point something had burned in the oven and you could smell it throughout the whole place. Staff apologized, but this of course added to the experience and we thought our visit had been long enough. The dishes I used to enjoy are also no longer on the menu. Maybe these are start-up problems, but I think the owner really needs to approach things differently if people want to come back...

Super place for coffee and lunch. Unfortunately the music is a bit loud and if you ask for a sandwich with brown bread, you get unsolicited white bread, which was tasty by the way. The 5 stars of picnic go to 4 stars for Nick.

Full of expectations after reading positive reviews, I went here for lunch with my father today. Unfortunately, we were left with a nasty aftertaste. When we entered it was quite busy, there were still some tables available. We received our drinks fairly quickly and were also able to order our food quickly. After half an hour we still had no food. Someone from the wait staff came by and informed us that our order had not gone through the system and they apologized. To compensate, we received a drink on the house, although the drink I wanted was no longer in stock and I had to choose something else. New customers trickled in, orders were placed and to our great surprise they received their food quite quickly. However, after 45 minutes we still had nothing. Nothing more was said to us by the waiter, while others around us enjoyed their food. After an hour we asked how long it would take, and we were told that they were working on it. A little later we asked an employee again and she checked for us. When she came back she said it was a minute. Another 5 minutes later they arrived with our food. They also apologized. My father ordered an egg roll, but instead got 3 fried eggs on toast with some lettuce. Because of the long wait we left it at that. The avocado and poached eggs I had on toast was fine. When paying, my father told me that he had ordered a fried egg instead of fried eggs. He was told it was the same. The cash register was very distant. We were no longer asked whether we had enjoyed our meal despite the long wait and the employee no longer apologized. We thought this was neat and could have ensured that we could end it nicely. Now we won't be back there again.

Had a very bad experience here because of the service! The staff seems disinterested. We had to wait a long time for lunch while there were hardly any other customers. The food was served lukewarm when it was supposed to be warm. No tip was given when paying because of the poor service, as soon as the amount had been debited we were no longer looked at/ignored. Bizarre, I won't be coming back here again.

Whenever we are in Rotterdam, we also end up here. Unfortunately, this time it wasn't satisfactory. The staff want to take your order while you're still busy with the menu. And the coffee was honestly the worst I've had in a long time: far too cold and sour. Adjust your grinder properly and train the staff. The food was delicious as usual.

DEPLORABLE, We ventured into a space that seemed nice at first glance, a nice decor and dishes that seemed decent to us. We were greeted by a waitress with the energy of an oyster who made us change places 3 times. This same waitress made a mistake not once, not even twice, but three times in our order. Without a smile or even a hint of apology she made us understand that it was not her fault but ours. Meager meal but the quality was there, the only positive point of this place. At the time of payment, we were charged for the errors made by the waitress… the dishes not ordered and not consumed were added as a supplement. Stunned, we refuse to pay for the mistakes made by the nonchalant person. The cashier/cook insisted no more than 3 times that we were at fault and that the meals had been prepared correctly by her, even if we had returned the unordered ones. In short, service 0, food 1, disappointed customers.

Super cozy, delicious coffee and delicious scones!

In the summer I am I've been there once and had a very positive memory of it. Was disappointing now. The case was cold. Kept my jacket on. The pancakes from the oven were not bad but they were served in an iron container that looked like a dog bowl. No fruit or anything, just a dollop of cream. It was difficult to cut in that container, so it was awkward to eat. My girlfriend's fried egg looked better. I also thought the price was a bit on the high side. Hope everything was organic or something. Then that can still be explained. Service very nice.

The food is fine. Service is somewhat passive and not attentive. Forgot the eggs that came with it and later added extra to the bill.

Nu al een paar keer heerlijk gegeten. Ik kom zelf uit de horeca dus ik ben kritisch. Kwaliteit van de koffie en het eten is consistent, wat ik heel belangrijk vind. Het personeel gaf aan dat bijna alles zelf gemaakt is of van een hoogwaardige leverancier komt. En dat proef je!! Er zijn steeds meer ontbijt/lunchzaken die dezelfde prijzen (of hoger) vragen, maar alles bij de groothandel inkopen. Wanneer het druk is kan het zijn dat het wachten op je koffie/eten wat langer duurt. En ook al oogt de zaak knus en klein, er passen veel mensen in. Gezien de kleine keuken vind ik de snelheid indrukwekkend. De acai en croque (zie foto) zijn een reden om wekelijks terug te komen. (Dat blijken ook hardlopers te zijn).

Een van de plekken waar ik graag terugkom! Aanraders zijn de tempeh op flatbread, de scone, het worstenbroodje en croque monsieur. De koffie is ook erg lekker!

Een top ervaring gehad bij Picknick! Ik bestelde een croque monsieur en mijn vriendin had een 9 uurtje (een voordeel ontbijtje). Er zat veel op het plankje en de prijs was inclusief koffie en jus. Zeker waard voor de prijs! Werd geholpen door een jongeman met een goeie kledingsmaak en kort geblondeerd haar. Hij kwam vriendelijk op mij af waardoor ik mij gelijk welkom voelde. Voor een relaxte sfeer en goed ontbijt of lunch is Picknick zeker jouw plek!

Best breakface place in Rotterdam!

Eén van de weinige plekken voor ontbijt en koffie die al vroeg open is. Goede keuze van gerechtjes, lekkere koffie en heel vriendelijk personeel. Ik kom er ook wel eens een taalles geven aan tafel maar meestal voor een ontbijtje met gasten.

Very nice place to have a good and cheap breakfast. For just 8 euro you get coffee, orange juice and a complete breakfast platter.

Tasty brunch. This is the place for a tasty brunch. The ingredients are fresh and the food is really tasty. The pancake with fresh butter was a nice discovery. The croquet messier is an explosion if tastes! You can find fresh juices and infusions. Recommended for a break right in the city center.

Waited almost an hour for the breakfasts we ordered and then only 2 of the 4 arrived. Then we were offered a free drink which was not a suitable alternative. We then waited another 15 minutes while other people were served and were told our missing breakfasts were "coming". We just didn't have time so we left with half our party unfed. Terrible, service. Oh, and the "world's best sausage roll" is a frankfurter in a bun. Don't bother. Go to Harvest!

The food is ok, but it’s very stingy and cheap. We like payed 35 euro for 2 very little breakfasts. I wouldn’t come here again.

This is a pretty standard breakfast/lunch cafe with somewhat limited menu options. You won’t find anything fancy or extraordinary here, but sometimes that could be precisely what you need. I knew I wanted a simple egg breakfast, which I successfully got here. If you’re looking for something a bit more exciting or unusual, there are other cafes within a 5-minute walk distance. Some people mention slow service here, and this seems to no longer be the issue. The place was almost full, and I didn’t experience any delays with my order. So if you’re looking for a casual breakfast or lunch - that’s your place.

Zondag 24 juli 2023. We gingen zitten praktisch in het midden van de zaak. Er was nog een paar lege plekken. Het was druk. Mijn lieve vriend wilde ergens anders zitten (onder de open trapgat, waar baby high chairs en veel kleding hangers hangen. We werden genegeerd door de meeste bedienend personeel. Ik werd wel moe van dit raar spel. Gisteren gingen mijn lieve vriend naar het Goed, dat is een pand ernaast. Tweedehands winkel (thriftstore). Ik voelde me onwel (diabetes). Te veel prikkels en laag suikergehalte. Ik ging naar Picknick en ging op hun lange bank zitten. Het ging maar niet over. Mijn vriend was nog bezig eye shoppen in Het Goed. Ik ging online checken wat het menu is van Picknick Rotterdam. Ik wilde de Cocosnoot Bananen Cake. Ik ging naar binnen. Er was een laatste in het glazen stolp. Ze waren gesloten maar gunde mij de Bananen Cake omdat ik tegen ze zij dat ik me niet goed voelde, laag suikergehalte. Ze waren zo lief degenen die tot op het laatst waren, vooral de blonde dame in het paardenstaart. Tof van haar dat ze me dit gunde. Terug naar vandaag. We werden netjes geserveerd. Let wel op 🍯 honig met laag bodempje. Mijn vriend en ik moesten erom lachen. Hij had een Mint Thee. Ik zeg je kan nog net een lepel 🥄 🍯 honing schrapen voor je theetje. 🤣🤣🤣🤭. Ik zou hem lunch trakteren. Maar ik moest naar de WC. Dat is boven. Ik nam bijna twee tafels mee want ik zat aan de muurkant. Mijn vriend vond ik niet meer op de plek. Hij had wel onze spullen laten liggen. Ik vond hem bij de kassa. Dus ik sprak het personeel aan van " Ken je me nog van gisteren ?!? Ze wisten heel goed wie ik was. Ik zei dat hun Cocosnoot Bananen Cake lekker was en nam mijn vriend vandaag mee om te proeven. Ze, het personeel is sowieso aardig. De bediening is goed. Dus wat hebben we besteld ?!? Mint Thee (ik hoefde geen drinken, ik was net bij Amada Coffee geweest voor de eerste lunch) en twee stuks Cocosnoot Bananen Cake voor totaal prijsje ongeveer € 11,85. Interieur was een soort huiskamer setting. Half in een soort renovatie 🤣🤣🤣 want het leek dat de muren met grenen houten platen werden verzegeld aan de muren op bepaalde plekken. Opmerkelijk dat de toiletten (3) : 1 voor het personeel en twee voor Everyone. Volgens mij in het verre verleden was er een Picknick voorbij de Mathenesserbrug bij de Grote Visserijstraat voorbij de plaatselijke bordeel en de Wereldwinkel. Maar die is er niet meer jaren geleden (plusminus 15 jaar ?!?) Het was een leuke ervaring ! Menukaart is uitgebreid, maar niet zo erg als die van Amada Coffee (Hoogstraat 8) een paar straten verderop. Beiden horeca gelegenheden zijn evengoed. Ik raad beiden plekken aan !!! 🥰♥️♥️

Leuke lunchtent Lekker eten Prettige bediening

Met de Rotterdamse Marathon zat het best vol, maar gelukkig nog plaats voor 3. Lekker bakje koffie en thee met een overheerlijke snicker taart.

Vrij saaie lunchkaart en het broodje was niet zo lekker, de saus maakte het veel te zoet. Koud binnen. Wel complimenten voor het personeel!

Cibo eccezionale, consigliatissimi i sandwich e anche il loro piatto colazione. Prezzi nella media olandese. Uniche pecche sono il fatto che è sicuramente un posto molto caotico nel weekend e che le attese sono ETERNE. Abbiamo dovuto aspettare 45 minuti per avere i nostri piatti. Forse andrebbe rivisto qualcosa, dato che in totale sono 6 le persone a lavorare all’interno del locale e per questo non capisco la tanta (troppa) attesa.

It's a cosy place but the service was very slow, the music was way too loud to have a normal conversation and you pay > €10 for two boiled eggs and 2,5 slices of bread, without anything else.

Deze picnic is geen supermarkt thuis bezorgd maar een restaurant . Menukaart heeft weinig lunch keuzen.

Ausstattung sehr einfach, trotzdem gemütlich. Personal sehr angenehm und freundlich. Allerdings: Fast eine halbe Stunde Wartezeit (2 Tische belegt - unsere Bestellung war die einzige). Immerhin.. der Kaffee war gut. Frühstück: Toast und Rührei mit Speck frisch zubereitet. Es hat uns geschmeckt. Serviert auf einem Holzbrett auf das ein Papier gelegt wurde (wohl als Schutz für das Brett). Nach kurzer Zeit völlig aufgeweicht durch das darauf angerichtete Rührei. Beim Schneiden der Speckstreifen oder des Toast zerrupft man dann das eingeweichte Papier und muss achtgeben Teile der Unterlage nicht mitzuessen. Die Anrichtung: Einfacher geht’s nicht. Zwei Scheiben geröstetes Weißbrot mit einem kleinen Stück Butter links, in der Mitte das Rührei mit Speck, rechts ein paar Blätter grüner Salat ohne Dressing. Extrem einfach und leider viel zu teuer für das Gebotene.. das geht sehr viel besser und dazu noch günstiger in Rotterdam. Wir werden nicht wiederkommen und können es absolut nicht empfehlen.

Tafel netjes geregeld, vervolgens besteld en daarna nog 45min gewacht op een simpel ontbijt. Ei koud, drankjes waren al leeg na 10min en verder werd er niks gevraagd. Geen compensatie voor het lange wachten.

Bij binnenkomst gezellig personeel, duurde alleen wel een kwartier voordat we geholpen werden. Eerst drankjes besteld, wat na lange 10 minuten pas op tafel kwamen. Het ontbijt duurde ruim 45 minuten voordat het op tafel kwam. Aantal tafels die na ons binnengekomen waren, kregen eerder hun eten, terwijl wij echt niet een super moeilijke keuze hadden gemaakt. Na 45 minuten eindelijk kunnen ontbijten, bleek het eitje, champignons en spek koud te zijn. Dit verwacht je niet als je ontbijt zolang duurt. Dit aangegeven bij de bediening, werd niks mee gedaan maar kon wel een sorry van af. Ik verwachte niks van te voren, maar was wel vriendelijk geweest als er iets mee gedaan werd. Zeker als het ontbijt 45 min moet duren.

Ronduit onaangenaam bezoek. Een uur moeten wachten op ontbijt, wat uiteindelijk koud opgediend werd. Werden geen nieuwe drankjes opgenomen. Geen excuus voor het lange wachten, personeel niet meer aan tafel gezien dus zelf maar opgestaan om te betalen. Toen we wat zeiden over de lange wachttijd en dat het netjes zou zijn om iemand op de hoogte te stellen werd ons verteld dat het druk was en hoopte dat het toch lekker smaakte, niet dus… Geen compensatie en totaal geen vriendelijke service!!!! Nooit meer naartoe.
