I just visited this place with my family and I have to say…it was awful. First of all, the smell. The entire place reeked. The tables were dirty, the menus were sticky and disgusting, and even the bottles of water smelled so bad we couldn’t drink from them without asking for straws. The food wasn’t much better. There were only two pancake options, both made with almond milk. When we asked if they could make one with regular milk because one of the kids has a nut allergy, they just said “no, sorry.” With so many people having allergies nowadays, you’d expect more flexibility or at least more options. The worst part? Still the smell and overall unclean atmosphere. For a place in such a central location, this is just unacceptable. Not worth more than two stars. Check the reviews before you go. We wish we had.

Lovely atmosphere and we totally understand why it’s so busy! Great vibes and food all round. We tried the French toast and loved every bite. Fast and polite service with loads of sweet and savoury options for food! The matcha was nice but very milky - however it was overall a lovely visit and I’d definitely return for brunch.

Yesterday my family and I were at Pluk for breakfast and were a little disappointed. The actual space is very charming and cute but the service and food was underwhelming. My mother ordered the avocado toast and there was a very tiny bit of avocado on, would not satisfy any avocado lover, but the bread was pretty good. The eggs were also quite cold so we had to reorder those. I personally ordered the smoothie bowl which tasted very delicious but was sadly quite melted when I got it. One thing I absolutely loved though, was the oat milk latte I got, the best vegan latte ever! Overall an OK experience, the food just needs a few improvements here and there.

The food is dry. The sauce on the brioche sandwich is only on the outside, there is none on the inside. The Norwegian eggs are obviously overcooked. Overall, it's edible, but I would say that the price is too high for this kind of food, and if you have to wait in line, it's definitely not worth it. P.S. The bathroom has seen better days. There are interiors designed to look old, but here it's compounded by the fact that it really hasn't been renovated in a very long time. The flush button is broken, and there are cleaning products right next to it...

They brought me the wrong dish, said they would make it again but it never happened. I paid a lot of money and they were very rude and impolite. Really terrible.

I ordered avocado bread and a pistachio iced latte. You have to order at the counter first, then find a seat, and the drink is called, which you then have to get yourself. This is easy to miss, as it's generally loud there with music and lots of customers. In total, I had to wait almost an hour for my avocado bread. Both the drink and the food were delicious but very overpriced. Typical Instagram spot, unfortunately, the value for money isn't there at all.

No service, plastic glasses, disappointing food. Little flavor or passion put into it.

The worst place to have a coffee in Amsterdam! They couldn’t do a decaf latte. 3 times they tried and 3 times they failed, it was horrible. The service is awful!! Don’t go there! Amsterdam have better places to go!

Unfortunately, I personally can't recommend the store... it's very cramped and noisy... the entire store's design strikes me as if it's primarily geared toward generating positive publicity on social media. I waited well over 30 minutes for a simple piece of bread with avocado, and when I asked, I was put off... especially considering the high prices, I find this very poor service. I wouldn't go back.

Good service, food and atmosphere but the waiting time is the only disadvantage

Four of us ate here. Everyone else was served first, and our friends who ordered after us got their drinks before us. Our drinks came 10-15 minutes later, and only after we asked for them. The food is brought to your table. Two of us got their food after about 30 minutes, and the other order was simply forgotten. So we sat here for over an hour while everyone else who had ordered after us got their food and waited. I'm happy to wait if the food is worth it and tastes good. But this wasn't the case either. So we don't recommend this place!

Poor service. Tables are very dirty and never cleaned between services. Rude waiters and terrible coffee. Place run by teenagers.

The restaurant has a very cute and cozy decor. There were several dishes to choose from, and the food was quite tasty and filling. The burrata toast was delicious. However, the bread was really hard. It was quite expensive, and the service could have been a bit friendlier. So, you can have a cozy meal there, but it is a bit more expensive.

Awful service, girls are super impolite and rude...coffee tastes quite terrible...they don't clean the tables between customers, do not go, it is even expensive. The toilets are shameful and dirty.

Cute spot with tasty dishes, but overhyped and overpriced We had brunch at PLUK and sat inside — it’s a really cozy and cute place, very crowded. The presentation of the dishes was original and elegant, and the food tasted good overall. I had the Norwegian eggs, which were tasty, but my friend’s PLUK breakfast was a miss — the sourdough bread was super stale, hard like a rock. Unfortunately, the table wasn’t very comfortable, the cutlery was dirty when we sat down, and the toilets had a noticeable smell. It’s definitely overpriced for what you get, but still a charming spot if you want something pretty and Instagram-worthy.

Great pit stop for a quick coffee as we were walking around Amsterdam all afternoon. Pretty crowded but we were able to find seating. Service was quick and friendly. Coffee and brownie hit the spot! Cute place with great service.

Walked in and looked for a table. Most tables were dirty from previous customers and the girls behind the counter were too busy chatting rather than cleaning up. Toilets were disgusting. Food was ok but quite stale. Saw the cashier decorating pancakes without gloves after touching peoples money. Every employee is eating behind the counter as well and speaking to people with a full mouth?! Apparently no supervisor present either.

Unfortunately, my experience at this café was very disappointing. The food was well below average—completely lacking in flavour and seasoning. More concerning were the hygiene and cleanliness standards. The restroom was in poor condition: dimly lit, with the flush hanging off the wall, cleaning products and toilet paper scattered across the floor, and cobwebs covering the ceiling and walls. Honestly, the state of the toilet alone should tell you everything you need to know about how this place is run — if they can’t be bothered to maintain basic hygiene in a customer-facing space, imagine what the kitchen looks like. Meanwhile, the staff seemed more interested in laughing and chatting than actually running the café. Dirty tables were left uncleared, the cook was eating while preparing food, and I watched a staff member use a glass to scoop ice from the ice machine — a huge safety hazard. Others behind the counter were casually eating while preparing drinks, which is both unhygienic and unprofessional. It was clear no one was supervising or taking responsibility. This place looks great from the outside but feels like it’s being run with zero standards or care. The only positive thing I can say is that it’s in a convenient location — but there are plenty of cafés nearby that actually take pride in what they do. I won’t be coming back, and based on the other bad reviews, I can see I’m not alone.

Disappointment, the avocado was gone, but the dishes were simply made without it, while the dishes really needed it... The chaotic self-service/service made it even worse unfortunately...

Overhyped, overpriced, bad service. Long waiting. We got our food delivered 10min apart from each other even tho we ordered together. Very small bowls. Dirty knife and fork. Eggs Benedict too much cooked. A bit too much lemonjuice on the avocado sourdough. Different types of tomatoes when the menu says cherry tomatoes. A lot of oil without taste. The bread was good but the knife needed to be better to cut it. Very small tables very close together. There are much better worth it breakfast spots in Amsterdam.

I bought a burrata sandwich and an Americano. However, there is not much of a take away service, it could have been more systematic. The sandwich was delicious, the coffee was like water.

Visited with family and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience at Pluk Amsterdam. We ordered two matchas (1 blue) and a coffee, but all three drinks tasted almost identical – mainly like milk and water, without any real coffee or matcha flavour. A shame, especially for the price you pay. We also ordered three avocado toasts. These looked nice at first glance, but the bread was so hard that my father cut his mouth open on the sharp edges and even started to bleed. That is really unacceptable. For a dish that is quite simple in terms of ingredients, it was also quite overpriced. The service also left a lot to be desired. It says that you will be guided to your table, but in practice it was chaotic. People walked past you and sat down themselves, while there was no one to take the lead or help us. The location looks cozy, but unfortunately that is where it ends. Not a repeat for us.

Very cozy place in the centre of Amsterdam. Very tasty food although the portions were a bit simple to my taste. Still good value for money. Service was a bit slow but staff was still nice.

It was extremely loud, so I couldn't hear the employee well. Immediately I noticed an unfriendly attitude. Due to the crowds, it took a while for our food to arrive, so I asked if it would take long. Then again I received a sigh and a disinterested attitude from one of the employees. I did not enjoy my lunch here and certainly would not recommend this restaurant.

Such a cute and cozy place close to the center of Amsterdam, they have quite a few chairs to sit both inside and outside, the staff were nice and friendly and our food was ready quite quickly and tasted really good! We tried the chicken and avocado on sourdough and the French toast, both very very delicious. The chicken dish was very nice and tender, the French toast was super yummy with a white icing on top and lots of fruits. The matcha latte with strawberry foam is a must try. Tasted very very good.

I ordered a strawberry matcha, it tasted awful. Like skimmed milk from some sick cow. When I asked why they just said sorry and didn’t want to remake it or make a refund. Also when we just came we were waiting next to ‘Wait here to be seated sign’, the waitresses were just passing by completely ignoring us, until we ourselves asked if we could sit there. Don’t go there if you want a pleasant breakfast experience

Stay away from this bad place !! The strawberry matcha is disgusting, served in unwashed glasses, the girls who work there are not smiling, as if they hate their job.

Waitress as unpleasant as possible, refuses to bring me my drinks under the pretext that they are not supposed to do so when 5 minutes later she does it for another customer, I don't like being made fun of. Plus the matcha is as bland as can be and the French toast looks more like a rusk than anything else. RUN AWAY!!!!

We ordered food on site and it was prepared to go and everything was packaged unspectacularly. we ordered Strawberry Matcha, but the taste was like a milkshake. There was hardly any taste of matcha. The counter didn't look clean either, so no effort was made. The coffee was more like foamed milk with a dash of coffee.

The service is to die for! Ordered a pistachio latte without pistachio foam on it. Brought back, you are then told “it was over” so rudely. Then they indicate that it is finished. That's something different... then received French toast where it was neatly stated that only banana was available and the rest was not. Fine! French toast arrives without marscarpone. Given back again. Then you are told "it has been said that there will be no marscarpone, because it has run out." After an altercation with the waiter, I received a note on which I could write to my bank account so that my money could be refunded for the French toast. I had already accepted the coffee without pistachio foam. 2 days later no money in my account and when you want to call them they don't answer. In short: save yourself the visit, everything is sold out during lunch time (special) and if you indicate that something is not available, they look at you as if you have secretly eaten or drank it. Ridiculous.

The place itself is very nice, however the staff was very rude.We had to set our own table, the matcha with blue foam was absolutely undrinkable and when we complained that they got our order wrong the waitress couldn't be less bothered. She answered in the rudest tone and just left, didn't even try to sort it out. Extremely disappointed with the place

I think it is an overpriced cafe with not so tasty desserts. The cinnamon bun way too sweet and dough-ey. And the tables and the restroom was not clean. Definitely does not worth it, no need to go

Nice place, food’s ok. Service is pretty bad. Very slow, they’re completely overwhelmed. I ordered (and payed) for a croissant that never came. After I asked 3 times for it, they told me to that they ran out of croissants. A refund wasn’t possible. They offered something else at least. I’m not coming back.

Looks like a place that serves good coffee, does not. A nice atmosphere attracted us, however the coffee was honestly quite terrible. While being on the expensive end compared to similar places in Amsterdam. No roundness to the espresso and the flatwhite had steamed milk that was completely stiff foam on top and no microfoam in the cup. *rating is for coffee only, we did not have food

A little bit disapointed by the hype given on social media. Despite the place is huge, it's crowded with people who grab a coffee, look the goodies in the shops. Staff is nice but exceeded with all of these tourists. Concerning the brunch, it's just OK, very visual but there is a lack of flavours, there are more places in Amsterdam to take a good brunch. However, the place worths at least one visit to buy some decoration in the shop.

I never knew you could mess up a cinnamon roll so badly. It had a strange dough structure with a very chemical aftertaste... very unfortunate

6.95 for a cinnamon roll is insulting. Plenty other nice cafes in the area that won’t rip you off.

A must try! Indeed the food is pretty much instagramable but it even more tasteful :) we have tried the latte, the salad and the chicken sandwich which are really good. The team is very nice and the place has a cozy vibe! A plus for the afrobeat playlist which brings a super cool vibe. I enjoyed my time there :)

The iced matcha with strawberry foam is so so so good, if you are the matcha lover, try this one! The place has amazing atmosphere, the decor is so pretty. The dishes were served in such an original and elegant way. The taste was good as well. This place is a little pricey but definitely worth the visit!

A happy green place with lots of artistic flair. If you come in mid morning, it is going to be very busy in the weekend. They sell pretty kitchen items and they have specious mezzanine seatings. The food is satisfying but their cakes on display was totally awesome. The service was very friendly. This place is a ray of sunshine - warm and cozy to hangout.

Between the bad and the good score, their is a fact that this place is popular and offer a good qualitative lunch break… BUT the service is at minimum level, you are NOT served at your table, you go yourself order at the bar. 36 euro the 2 tartine and two drinks.

Disappointing Service Last Friday my friends and I came to Pluk with a big appetite, but to our surprise we were told that the kitchen closed at 3:00 PM, while the place doesn't close until 5:00 PM. It remained unclear why the kitchen closed so early. We were extremely disappointed and found the service poor no explanation, no alternative, just bad luck. For a place so popular, I expected at least some customer service. Unfortunately not recommended if you want to eat here!

I went here last Friday with some friends. We wanted to order pancakes around 3:15 PM, but it was indicated that the kitchen was closed even though the place doesn't close until 5:00 PM. The only option was to order take away with the food they already had ready. We thought this was very strange since the kitchen usually closes 30 minutes before closing, not an hour and a half in advance??

It used to be fun, customer-friendly and of high quality. Not anymore. Toilets were very dirty!!! Tables too, by the way. I personally thought the music was quite loud too. Besides that, I still think the food is very tasty.

Me and my partner ate here on the 23rd of October and were accidentally charged for 3 meals we did not order. The restaurant assured us we would be receiving a refund but have not answered our calls and stopped responding to our emails. Food was good but this is really disappointing and I would really appreciate if the restaurant responded to our emails and provided us with the refund we are entitled to. Update: Refund has eventually been processed (2 months later). Appreciate that this was eventually sorted out though.

They have successfully messed up my order twice and have changed the filling for my pancakes with the help of a napkins right in front of me :) but the avocado toast of my friend was awesome, so have a good luck!))

Really faded glory, please spend your money elsewhere! Half frozen carrot cake, disinterested staff and a lot of dirt. There are so many nicer places to eat in Amsterdam!! I don't often leave a bad review, but this is just a warning. This place is so overhyped on Instagram, it's definitely not what it used to be. The owner should spend her time instead of on Instagram cleaning the place properly, upgrading the food and training the staff! Last Monday morning I was here at half past nine in the morning. It started as soon as I entered, without a greeting, the young girl behind the counter didn't look up or around, I was the only customer downstairs, there was a couple upstairs. I stood by the cakes for a moment to look at them and didn't really know if I could find a place upstairs, so I walked towards the stairs where the cook was working and realized that I was looking. He explained to me that I had to order downstairs first, which is fine of course. When the employee was finally done she took my order, still no eye contact; there was no laughing matter. I had paid and wanted to walk upstairs and when she saw that she quickly said that I had to take my order with me, okay. Not a problem in itself, but it is a very narrow staircase with a low ceiling and a bend that you have to crawl through, not nice to wobble with that tray. Fortunately, it is your own fault if things go wrong and the staff has no business dealing with it. Then I took a seat at the back, you think nice view with those Amsterdam roofs; but the roof terrace behind it was full of rubbish and full rubbish bags, looked terrible. I had the carrot cake, which was unfortunately very dry and even worse, it was just half defrosted so it was ice cold and had no taste. There is also no filling at all, except some grated carrot, in the cake. The saucer was not clean properly, you could see all those greasy fingerprints on it. You also have to put everything away yourself, in two gray bins near the stairs before you leave. There was a worn, rancid dishcloth hanging from the bin that had flies coming out of it, really gross. You don't want your guests to see that. I really hope they don't wipe the tables with that too. When you look up at the ceiling you are also shocked by all those cobwebs. I would really advise anyone not to eat here, not to trust.

This place was our only regret on our 8 day tour of three European cities. We went in the morning for breakfast, and there was one table who were already eating. We ordered coffee and the 15€ each “Pluk breakfast”. The place has 3 floors and on the lowest floor where there were also tables, a mop and some garbage was sitting in the open, we were seated upstairs which was fine. You order and pay first and then get your meal when it’s ready. We paid and were given our coffees, but after more than 20 minutes there was still no food in sight even though we were the only table waiting for food. After 20 minutes a man we presumed was the chef walked in and we finally heard the sound of someone beating eggs, and our plates were brought in a few minutes after that. The breakfast dish had a small bowl of the worst, sloppiest, lumpy and unsalted scrambled eggs I have ever seen. I put more effort in cooking the eggs I make for my dogs. We only ate it because at least it wasn’t raw. A small slice of bread with avocado puree spreaded on it, which was fine. A croissant that wasn’t horrible but it was a bit greasy and definitely wasn’t made with butter. A small jar of jam which was fine. And a packet of Becel margarine. So we paid 40 euros for waiting for half an hour for horrible eggs and margarine. I have no idea how this place even made a name for itself at some point. Stay away.

Very cozy and nice place to have lunch. They also keep the tables clean. It's a shame that we had to balance our drinks up to the table ourselves, not so much fun with coffee. They did deliver our food and the staff was very friendly.

The staff seem unable to effectively manage this business. They answer basic questions with the bare minimum effort and lack politeness. It's also very expensive with average food.

Came here for lunch this week. Ordered the eggs. They came out cold, so cold I was unable to eat the food. I notified the staff who asked the chef if they could warm up the same meal. I told them no as I don’t want to get food poising from eating cold eggs that have been reheated. Asked for a refund to which they said isn’t possible. I’ve given my bank details and have not yet recieved a refund for the 15 euro I paid for a meal I wasn’t able to eat due to it being stone cold. Have also emailed and DM’ed the instagram with no response to either. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Staff were also quite rude and insensitive.

We got cold (and I mean COLD) eggs Benedict delivered to the table, when we brought it back they took it to reheat…. Seeing as we don’t want food poisoning from reheated egg, we asked for a refund which apparently is not possible on their eftpos machine, we left bank details and hopefully they’ll repay us the €15 spent on cold eggs Benedict. Coffee was ok, tuna melt was ok. Staff were not welcoming. I would not recommend.

Nice place to have something to eat or drink! By the way, the staff was not friendly and we were not assigned a table (we just sat at a table ourselves, even though there was a sign that said the staff would help us?) I thought this was a shame... All in all, a great experience. cozy place, and the carrot cake is really delicious!!

The food is average. It is self service - it was busy the day we were there and the system does not work well. I had to stand in line for 20 minutes to order a dessert after our lunch. Staff were friendly. It is not a restaurant that I would go to again.
