Portugees Restaurant Costas in Medemblik

We had a delicious meal on our holiday with very friendly and pleasant staff.

We concluded our stay in Medemblik at this restaurant. Here, they were able to accommodate my dietary needs very well—gluten, cactus, and no onion or garlic. It was a challenge for them, but I had a delicious meal. Thanks again for the excellent care; it was fantastic.

I found the waitress a bit surly. I had made a reservation and agreed that I wanted to sit downstairs, because my girlfriend has difficulty walking up stairs. Additionally, I had ordered a Portuguese table, but I was told that wasn't true. I mentioned this when making the reservation, but apparently the person who took the reservation didn't write it down. Not exactly customer-friendly treatment, if you ask me.

We had a delicious meal here at the Portuguese table, where a generous starter, main course, and dessert were served by enthusiastic staff who also ensured a convivial atmosphere.

An excellent restaurant with delicious and flavorful food. The meat platter was exquisite, and the chicken piri piri is highly recommended. All of this is served in a cozy and warm ambiance.

Once a year, we go out for dinner with my brother, sisters, and their partners. Well! We had a delicious meal here! I forgot to take photos, but we had the Portuguese Table with the whole table. This is a mix of fish and meat as a starter and main course. The desserts were also a tasting platter. Friendly service, lovely location by the water, highly recommended!

After our first meal there, we immediately booked a table for the next five visits. You should definitely make a reservation, especially on weekends. The two friendly and very attentive servers speak excellent German. The atmosphere is lovely. The food is absolutely delicious, everything cooked to perfection, even with two steaks or fish, and the price-performance ratio is excellent. Everything is delicious and freshly prepared. It's incomparable to other Dutch food. Highly recommended. And thank you again for selling and vacuum-packing the chorizo. Thank you so much for the fantastic service.

We spontaneously decided to have dinner without a reservation. We received a very warm welcome and were able to get a table. The ambiance, the staff, and the food were simply fantastic. Even though we have to drive 40 km to get there, we'll gladly come back – it's worth it. A huge compliment and thank you to all the staff!

A warm welcome, a neat and clean, attractive restaurant, and excellent food, everything nice and hot and fresh. The service was excellent. We had the Portuguese table for four people, and it's highly recommended. This allows you to sample various Portuguese dishes and be entertained all evening.

Unfortunately, the food quality has really declined the last two times. We used to come here often because you don't just find a good restaurant easily, but unfortunately, we really didn't find the food as good as it used to be.

We attended a birthday party in a group of 21. We were seated at one long table upstairs and served by delightful, personable wait staff. The fixed 4 course menu had plenty of various delicacies to self plate from shared platters. Everyone seemed happy with the food, drinks, and above all the interactions with the staff.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening yesterday. From the checkout to the dessert, everything was first-class. The food was excellent and definitely worth the price. A perfect end to our team vacation.

This place is highly recommended. It's cozy, and the staff was friendly and extremely attentive. We ate with six people. Almost everyone had a different menu. All the menus were excellent and highly recommended. Even the desserts were a delight. Dogs are welcome. Reservations are recommended.

What a delicious meal we had again, the kitchen and service also get five stars, together with Morgo they make it a party for the guests. The group of friends from Andijk.

Today I contacted Margot by telephone to order a €150 dinner voucher for my parents. What I had hoped would be a pleasant and simple order unfortunately quickly turned into a very unfriendly experience. Instead of customer friendliness or any form of hospitality, I was treated in a cold and at times downright rude manner. When Margot suggested sending the gift card by post, I indicated that I had my doubts about it because of the risks that entailed. I asked if it was possible to receive the voucher digitally. To my surprise, I was snubbed twice with a blunt “DON'T”, as if my request was completely unreasonable. The conversation ended with a sarcastic “have a nice weekend”, which only underlined the lack of professionalism. I am deeply disappointed in this treatment. For a company that revolves around hospitality and service, this was a painful confrontation with the opposite. I will be purchasing my gift elsewhere — and I sincerely hope something is done about this, because this is not how you treat customers.

We stayed at Costas with 4 adults and a child (5). We ordered the Portuguese table "menu" for 4 people. When we asked, it was confirmed that we didn't have to order anything extra for the child (everything was plentiful) Only a small bowl of tomato soup was also served. On the bill we found a children's menu item for €20. When we asked, we were told they had served tomato soup and 4 ribs. But we never ordered the ribs and the child definitely doesn't like ribs either. We paid the bill but we felt ripped off.

Very tasty food and a very nice and cheerful waitress.

Unfortunately I can only offer a picture of the empty pot but the reason is simple. It simply tastes excellent. The entire visit to Costas was a pleasure. We had meat and fish. Cooked to perfection and the side dishes were fresh and everything was super tasty. The service was extremely nice and accommodating. All in all, a restaurant visit straight out of a picture book. Thank you!

We had dinner at Costas tonight, it was excellent! Never eaten somewhere where everything you get is as tasty as at this restaurant. The staff was also exceptionally friendly. If we are in Medemblik again, we will definitely come back.

Delicious food in a cozy atmosphere.

Delicious dinner on Saturday March 16, 2024. Tender steak is recommended with pepper sauce and bacon and vegetables. This chef knows how to serve a nice steak

Ended up here as a tourist in Medemblik. Were early, the restaurant was still empty. Enthusiastic welcome and cozy table by the window. Bread with spreads and olives were tasty. Then grilled fish and a chicken skewer. All equally delicious, just like the desserts. Service friendly and attentive. Restaurant nicely decorated in Portuguese style. If I were to change something, I would dim the light slightly for a more intimate atmosphere. Furthermore, an absolute must!

Das Essen war wirklich top, die Bedienung super nett und sehr zuvorkommend. Die Preise sind, wie überall in Holland, etwas teurer als in Deutschland. Alles in einem ist das Restaurant auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen.

Das Ambiente erinnert an Portugal - im gehobenen Standard. Die Musik schickt uns nach Porto - Fado. Das Essen ist unglaublich gut und wir haben das Essen, die Atmosphäre und den sehr netten Service sehr genossen. Vielen lieben Dank. Wir sehen uns am Sonntag wieder.

Mit Familie 3 Personen, dort gewesen. Tolles Personal und sehr kinderfreundlich. Frisches und authentisches essen. Eine sehr neue und gepflegte Einrichtung. Preislich gehoben aber für die Qualität und das Ambiente völlig in Ordnung. Komme wieder !

Sehr leckeres Essen Getränke Ok der Service war sehr gut. Leider extreme Lautstärke I. Lokal so das es schon unangenehm war, es fehlt einfach Stoff im Raum.

Warum das Restaurant um 16:00 aufmacht, man es aber erst ab 17:00 besuchen kann, haben wir nicht so ganz verstanden. Vielleicht, wenn man nur was trinken möchte... Die drei Gerichte, die wir dann bestellt haben, sollten alle mit Ofenkartoffeln serviert werden. Vielleicht sind die Ofenkartoffeln ja die jeweils 3-4 Kartoffelchips, die auf dem Teller lagen? Wenn ich mir die Bilder zu diversen Gerichten aus dem Restaurant anschaue, sehe ich da durchaus Ofenkartoffeln. Die wurden bei unseren 3 Gerichten aber komplett unterschlagen - warum? Das Essen war sonst ok, machte aber nicht ansatzweise satt.

Wir haben hier vor einer Woche einen Aussentisch ergattert. Der Service war sehr freundlich und herzlich, das Essen war hervorragend, das Olivenöl war herrlich. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
