Great place for a decent meal. Surprisingly good wine and beers

The restaurant is located very close to the city center. The wait staff is very attentive. I ordered a Caesar salad, my wife a lunch special, and my son a children's menu. The salad was very simply prepared. They used pre-cut lettuce that hadn't been washed. Sometimes I got grains of sand in my mouth. The taste wasn't great, but it was okay. I do think the price is too high. The lunch special was good; I have nothing negative to say about that. The children's menu was also more than sufficient. It was served warm and fresh. The terrace was very beautiful; I liked it. Overall, it was a positive experience.

Been there often and always good. Until a few weeks ago. We had to find a spot inside ourselves. No one came to ask what we wanted to drink. Only when there were more guests inside did someone come by. The food came quickly and was tasty. We wanted dessert, but again, no one came by. When we wanted to leave, someone finally came. The bill took a long time to arrive. I have never experienced anything so bad.

I sit here sometimes, but the service is bad every time; they almost never come to our table, but they do to the tables around us. If I wave, nobody sees me, great! I've been sitting for half an hour with an almost empty glass and nobody comes to check on me or ask if everything is to my liking. They really should walk around bigger and more often (:

Nice atmosphere, poor service. Dropped some of my dish and never replaced it. Received a small bowl of fries for 5 people... had to ask for another one. Even though the menu states "with fries" with every dish. 32 euros for a meat dish and not even a separate portion of fries???

Was insulted by staff and a very bad place, never coming back!

We went out for a nice drink on the terrace. We thought it would be a pleasant evening, but nothing could be further from the truth. A new waiter, a young guy with brown hair, came to collect the payment, and I asked if I could pay in cash, to which he replied, “Yes, better than you running away.” This is a remark that is unacceptable. I hope the company takes this seriously.

The ambiance and menu are fine. Unfortunately, I felt unwell and lost consciousness while in the restroom. Although I wasn't fully conscious, I did see that the staff were doing their best to help me. I found a tea towel in the living room; you will get that back🤫. Apologies for the inconvenience to other guests.🙄

Cozy, good service, nice place.

We were in Hoofddorp the day before our departure via Schiphol. We had been looking for a terrace where we could enjoy a nice beer and wine, and De Polderboom came in first place and was close to the hotel. There is an extensive beer menu and a decent wine list. Naturally, I tried some local beers, from brewery 't IJ and a beer specially brewed in collaboration with the Jopen brewery. All excellent. Friendly service and nice weather made this visit even more pleasant. So if you are in the area, stop by here. We didn't eat ourselves, but I think that was also very good. We just went for a drink on a Friday evening after work with colleagues. The service was good , had some snacks and drinks.the location is nice

Very cool place, great vibes. I stopped in for a couple of beers Friday evening. Good music and great atmosphere. I hear the food is very good as well, I plan on coming back to try.

The service was top-notch, nothing to complain about. They were just cheerful and friendly and checked in regularly. We were greeted upon arrival and could choose a spot, which was cleaned immediately upon our seat. Food and drinks arrived quickly. The truffle pasta was very disappointing; it was very bland and the pasta had already started to stick together. You could barely taste any truffle or salt, and I didn't quite understand the choice to include paprika. The burrata was excellent, though; with the salmon bonbon with crab filling, it tasted like supermarket crab salad wrapped in smoked salmon. Fine in itself and still tasty, but for the price, of course, not entirely okay. I think the chefs specialize more in meat, but that is just an assumption. The awnings on the terrace also closed quite quickly while the sun was still shining. All in all, fine and not bad, but the service made up for a lot, as I had expected better food.

Oh, this was unexpectedly great. I happened to be here. Coffee super, food super, drinks super, staff super.

We went yesterday on Mother's Day with 5 people. We were escorted to our high table, but that was terrible. At our friendly request for a lower table, the manager really did his best. We had to wait a bit for it, but it was worth it. The service was super friendly, and our choice was made quickly. The carpaccio was wonderfully tender and plentiful, and the steak tartare was also delicious. The main courses—4 Polderboom steaks and 1 Pepper steak—were wonderfully tender, not a trace of sinew to be found; you glided right through it with your knife. Our preference regarding the preparation of the steaks was listened to carefully. The dessert, the crispy puff pastry with ice cream, was also tasty. In short, the manager (a friendly man) and the staff (all of them) were super nice and quick. In short, definitely worth repeating; not a single downside, the service was fantastic. The food portions were small. The bill was presented without my request to close the restaurant. I do not recommend it.

Snacks veeeery expensive. We were on 4 people, a small basket of snacks costs impressive 14 euros!!! And it comes with only a few ones (maximum of 6). I really do not recommend. If you go only for drinks it's OK, but don't go for food, or you will regret yourself.

No welcome upon arrival at the terrace. After taking a seat ourselves, we waited approximately 30 minutes and eventually had to attract attention ourselves to be able to order. Staff did walk past, including to tables next to us, but not to ours. All that time, we were looking at two empty wine glasses and a wine bottle belonging to previous guests. When ordering two drinks, we immediately asked for the menu, but during the serving of the drinks and the following 10 minutes, no one asked if we wanted anything to eat. Additionally, the glass was dirty; as a result, I drank directly from the bottle. To make customers wait so long without speaking to them or even clearing the table… This level of service is outdated. For us, this is a reason to go elsewhere in the future.

From the outside, it looks like a nice place to sit down for a while. There were plenty of heating elements on the terrace. However, the service was terrible... We walked onto the terrace and the waiter standing there didn't say hello (he was standing a meter away from us at the time). After that, we weren't helped by someone taking our drink order. After a while, I went inside myself to order a drink. The waiter didn't even notice the second round of drinks, so I went inside myself. After 10 minutes, the drink still hadn't been brought, so our patience ran out. When paying, they did run up the drinks. Either I am too impatient, or the staff had no sense of speed.

This used to be a really nice place to eat, but it has been disappointing again. The staff is totally unaware of the guests. We had to ask for everything. No one comes to the table to ask if you would like another drink, when glasses are empty. The food was poor as well. Fish that was supposed to be proepared in butter was fried in oil. Yes, "I can taste the difference" dear staff. It is a real shame, but I will not be visiting again.

De Polderboom always gave us the impression of being a nice café for drinks, but the dishes with a twist make it a surprisingly nice place to eat. We will definitely be back!

Mrestal cozy, atmospheric and fun

Great food! We were with a group of five and everyone was happy, especially with the Italian bun with spicy chicken. This year, we sat on the terrace for the first time again. There could be a bit more space between the round tables with benches. It's difficult to get in and out. Besides the wait staff, I can only say they're fantastic and know their stuff! Keep up the good work!

Had a lovely lunch at the Polderboom. I had the 12-hour meal with onion soup, a croquette, and a slightly spicy vitello tonnato sandwich. It was delicious. There was also a great offer: 50% off the food.

Nice place for a beer and a dinner. Meats were really nice and well cooked.

I ate here last week; they had a great offer: the second three-course meal was free. After some hesitation, I decided on the dry-aged beet steak for my main course. It was a good choice; I really enjoyed it. It's nice that they offer a wider variety of vegetarian dishes, which makes it even easier to choose vegetarian more often (if you're a wannabe vegetarian). The service was quick and personal.

A delicious lunch last Saturday. The service was fast and very friendly. They had an extensive menu, and the midday meal was excellent.

Ordered a Polderboom steak with gravy. When it arrived, the steak was literally floating in the greasy gravy instead of being served separately in a small bowl. In short, I had to pat the steak dry with a napkin and eat the fries straight from the basket—what a greasy mess. It came up on the car ride home.

Too bad. The food wasn't good. Salty, salty, salty. Everything was too salty. Mushrooms in aioli were salty. Satay dressing: no peanuts in sight, only salt. The dessert trio: salted caramel. It was truly just salty. The caramel flavor was nowhere to be found. The sambal sauce had no sambal at all, just fat. It was a disappointment. I received one free coffee and one tea because I complained. The service was kind, but it was very disappointing. I think the chances of us going again are zero.

Top location where you can have a great drink and/or dinner!

Its a nice bar with a lovely terrace but the service was honestly quite bad. It was really difficult to get someone to take our order and when I ordered a glass of wine I got strange looks from the waitress like it's strange that I order wine as a young man, strange place.

The atmosphere was lively but not chaotic, allowing us to enjoy ourselves at our leisure. The wine selection perfectly complemented the dishes. The dessert was the perfect ending to a wonderful evening. This restaurant is definitely recommended for foodies.

One of the 3-4 very similar restaurants with a bar located along the main street in Hoofddorp. The food is average, but honestly it is the same in the whole of the Netherlands.

We regularly come here for drinks, beers, etc. Yesterday was no exception. My wife and I were here. We both had two beers and a snack. A total of 46 euros, which was quite a shock. I knew the beer was quite expensive, but 13.50 for a truly meager snack seems completely out of proportion.

Great place, great atmosphere, great service and not least great food. First time here and will come back if I get the chance. Recommended for a beer night, mingling, and something good to sink your teeth into. Ordered Iberico boneless ribs with teriyaki sauce, and it was so good. The fries were absolutely perfect. I was there on a Thursday night, and it was actually a lot of life. The music was also really fun. This place is recommended!!

Great bar with a variety of different beers and snacks for reasonable prices. Especially the amount of beers on tap, with many IPA's and tripels. They also offer a wide selection of non-alcoholic drinks. I would recommend getting the nacho's if you're hungry during drinks. The service is also quick and the servers are attentive. Would definitely recommend to stop by if you are ever in Hoofddorp.

My beer was a Hertog Jan 0.5 L whitebeer, a good choice of beer on the list but no price is written. My surprise was when it was the time to pay. The waitress asked me 9.50€. To my opinion this is excessive. Sorry I m not coming back there anymore !

The strawberry lemonade was sparkling water with a sprig of mint and 3 pieces of CANNED strawberry!! limp, dirty canned strawberries while it is in full strawberry season. The iced coffee was a limp mess. Watery and without coffee flavor and not cold. Both drinks TASTELESS! We were also going to have lunch there, but after tasting the drinks we went to an adjacent tent where we had a delicious meal.

Always cozy on the terrace with heating. Therefore usually busy.

Ate here with 2 people. A fish starter is great here. But the mushroom starter is very boring in taste. A chicken thigh satay has quite a good taste. But a pork tenderloin satay greatly dominated the satay sauce in terms of spiciness. We also thought the service took a very long time. And something could also be done about the men's toilet.

Highly recommended!!! Food and drinks are excellent. I recommend making reservations in advance. I'd love to come back!!

The Polderboom is mainly a mix between a tasting room with restaurant and an old brown cafe where mainly young and old come together. Whether you want an extensive meal or a bite to eat during a nice drink, you can do both here. The terrace is fully heated with waterproof parasols and heaters, so you can enjoy a full terrace even in winter. The staff is very friendly with both the guests and each other, which gives a feeling of coming home. The 12 taps and an extensive range of non-alcoholic beers/cocktails and soft drinks ensure something for everyone!

Was er met mijn gezin om wat te vieren. Had samen met mijn dochter de Camembert uit de oven ( 2 personen ). Toen dat werd gebracht zaten voor elke persoon 2 kwartjes geroosterd brood blij. Dus de helft moest je maar gewoon op eten. Toen ik daar een opmerking over maakt werd er gezegd “ Als u meer had gewild” had u dat kenbaar moeten maken. Volgens mij moet je dat toch zeggen als je iets komt brengen. Ook had ik een Polderboom Steak besteld er wordt mij nog gevraagd hoe ik hem wilde hebben. Ik gezegd dat hem MEDIUM wilde, maar wat kreeg ik WELL DONE. Omdat iedereen al hun eten had en omdat ik al iets over het voorgerecht had gezegd heb ik die maar laten zitten. Want die dame was ook niet de allervriendelijkste. Voor de prijs van 25,40 vind ik dat het toch wel goed gedaan mag worden. Het was voor mij een bittere tegenvaller.

Gezellig restaurant prima aankleding en niet te schel geluid. Samen met collega's gegeten. De vriendelijke bediening kwam vlot en er stond al snel een drankje voor ons. Wij kozen voor het 3 gangen menu. En redelijk ruime keuze. Er was echter niet genoeg vitello tonnato dus 1 moest iets anders kiezen. Bij het desert gebeurde het zelfde, er waren maar 2x Dame Blache. Eten stond snel op tafel, de vitello tornado was droog, stoofvlees er lekker. Jammer dat we na het hoofdgerecht de frieten kregen, die waren ze even vergeten.
